Task template configuration

Hello,
On my dev IDM environment, I did configure the Update User task template (disabling some approvals) and assigned this template to the Update User task.
Where in the repository can I find the objects with these modifications? My goal is to export that configuration to another environment without having to go in the GUI clicking anywhere and possibly missing one click...
Thanks.

oh right. I re-initialized my repository recently and did not reconfigure that part. That's why I didn't see that. Sorry. And Thanks!
last question: what object holds the information that the Update user template is "assigned" to the update user task?

  • HPDM 4.6 - _Enroll Certificate with SCEP Task Template missing

I recently upgraded our HP DM to v 4.6 as I was searching for a better way to deploy CA certificates to our t510 thin clients, and this version supports SCEP.
I also downloaded the Client Kit ThinPro-4.4-SCEP-0.0.3 software (via the Template > Import > HP FTP Software Component Browser) and this is visible in the list of Task Templates.
The problem I have is that the HP DM User Guide for this version outlines Enrolling Certificates using SCEP by double clicking on the _Enroll Certificate with SCEP task template, which I don't seem to have?
How do I obtain this particular task template?

I have already downloaded that add-on. It extracts to a .xar file, which I placed in the HP Smart Client Service\auto-update path. This is the add-on that gets pushed out to the clients at power-on.
What I need is the _Enroll Certificate with SCEP Task Template for HPDM. I've tried the template import function but I don't seem to have the necessary .jar file?
Am I missing something? I'm a bit of a noob with the HPDM software...

  • Concept of Value, Task & Template Roles

    Hello,
Can anyone explain the concept of value roles, task roles & Template roles in SAP? I have heard about single, composite, derived roles in sap.
Also, can there be a transaction in derived roles independent of the parent role? i mean that a transaction that i could add to derived role only in addition to the transaction that derived role with inherit from the master role. if yes, what will be its affect on auth. objects etc..
    Kind Regards, Ben

    Hi
Single, composite & derived roles are technical role types.  Value, task & template are descriptions of how roles can be used and can often have different meanings. The most common ones are:
Task: A single role (or could be a derived role) that represents a small piece of functionality such as create PO, display SO, create journal, change material etc.
Template: Is sometimes used to describe a parent role or if derived functionality is not used, the transactional template for variants to be created that have different org level and / or field level restrictions.  It is also used for composite roles where you have the "shape" of the composite role defined with dummy roles and these are replaced with equivalents that represent the access required for the relevant org levels.  There are probably a few other uses for the term template - like task and value, it is not a standardised term.
Value: There is a design concept that has transactional content in one role and org level content in another role.  The org level/key restriction part is designed to reduce the number of variants created but this introduces complexity in other areas, e.g. it breaks SU24.
It also describes a concept where you have small pieces of authorisation (e.g. cost centre, access to posting periods) where you can supplement the role build with discrete authorisations.
Different transaction in a derived role: As Soumya said, this is not recommended.  You could do it by manually adding an instance of S_TCODE and adding the transaction in there however it breaks the derived role concept and as soon as you push changes down from the parent, the change will be overwritten.

  • Query - JDI Template Configuration Tool...Please guide

    Hello All,
Am working on 04 version and have finished installing & configuration of basic NWDI components.
There is an additional configuration of 'Template Configuration Tool'
And as far as I read...its use is into administration and not development.
    <u>Questions:</u>
    1. Can I skip this configuration? The installation doc does not mention it as optional or mandatory though.
    2. What could be the implications if I skip this step?
    3. The description says this tool provides a framework to NetWeaver components to create their own configuration templates.
Please give me some examples to understand this better.
    Awaiting Reply.
    Thanks and Warm Regards,
    Ritu

    <b>5.1 Template Configuration Tool
    Purpose</b>
This component is a tool for configuring the J2EE Engine and the SAP NetWeaver
components running on top of it. To configure the system properly, the Template
Configuration Tool uses specially designed templates for each component.
You can find the latest information about the Template Configuration Tool and
<b>the related configuration templates in SAP Note 739788.</b>
    <b>Implementation Considerations</b>
The installation procedure of the J2EE Engine and the SAP NetWeaver components provides the system with a default configuration. You can run the system using the initial configuration;however, this does not guarantee that the available resources are utilized optimally or that the system will function properly. Using the Template Configuration Tool and the templates provided by each component, you can easily adjust the infrastructure to the particular needs of the scenario that you are running. Therefore, we recommend that you run the Template Configuration Tool after installing the J2EE Engine.
The Template Configuration Tool is run only once for each server instance. If
you expand the cluster vertically later on by adding new instances to it, you
should run the tool on each new instance, so that all instances in the cluster
are configured in the same way.
    <b>Integration</b>
While the Template Configuration Tool provides the framework for processing the templates, each SAP NetWeaver component provides its specific template.
    <b>Features</b>
The Template Configuration Tool is the framework that enables other SAP NetWeaver
components to create their own configuration templates. You can use the tool to apply and restore a particular system configuration.
You can choose to apply the appropriate configuration templates depending on your
particular scenario. For example, you may choose to apply a template for an Enterprise Portal scenario where you have a portal running on top of the J2EE Engine. Note that this may influence not just the configuration of the component itself, but also the settings of the J2EE Engine.
The tool is instance-based – that is, it configures the J2EE Engine based on the available hardware resources on a particular host, as well as some additional settings such as allocated memory. This means that you must run the tool separately for each Java instance that you have installed.
The Template Configuration Tool is designed to automatically detect most of the parameters that are used to define the configuration of the system. The tool provides wizards that guide you through the process of choosing which function you want to use, selecting the appropriate templates, and filling in the required parameters.

  • Unable to read task sequence configuration disk

Target Server is an HP ProLiant BL460c G5
I'm trying to load my reference iso via the iLO connection, mounting the image to the CD drive.  I used the same process to create the WIM file on my Source Server and it worked fine.  I boot from the CD, it loads windows files, then comes up to
the SCCM screen with the error "Unable to read task sequence configuration disk."
    Any ideas what's going on?

In my case I had the same error using SCCM boot media in a USB 3.0 port. Solution was here to use a USB 2.0 port to solve it.

  • Workflow Mail Template Configure

    Hello,
In the Workflow Mail Template Configure, we are attempting to discover if we can insert text between the single quotes.
I have a requirement where I need to edit the Approve/Reject/Request More Information in a mail template. The customer wants to have some texts populated in between the quotes in the "Rejection Reason" for the email Template.
e.g-: when click on Reject link form email, my requirement is to add a text mentioned below in italics. This will give the user instructions on what to do....many tiumers they see the single quotes and do not enter in the Rejection Reason.
    Approval Action: 'Reject'
Rejection Reason: ' insert rejection reason text here '
    Thanks in advance.

You can define a message attribute of type 'respond', then you can see a text field to enter your response comments.

  • How to generate a task template?

    Hello,
is it possible to create a task template within ep6 nw04 sp15?
creating a new task within this template - the memo area should already have a content information, in which the task creator is allowed to edit before sending it to recipients.

That script is not available in RH10. However there have been a number of enhancements to the Resource Manager in RH10 that allow you you sync project files between projects. There is also a Master Page Import script available.

  • Implementing change to Task Templates for known servers

We found that some of our Task Templates are pointing to old server names no longer available and have updated the Task Templates, but when the task executes, the task instance still shows the old server names. We have restarted the application server instance also with same results. Is there something else that needs to occur for the xchanges to actually tak eplace in IDM> Thanks.

Sorry, possibly I am making incorrect assumptions. I am assuming that "knownServers" is the list of preferred servers to run the task in, and that the task defaults to the main server if those are not found but maybe I am wrong. We are trying to have a specific report run under a specific container.
Say we have 5 containers defined as servers. When the Task Templates were originally created, the "knownServers" element listed, for example, "Andy", "Barney", Charlie", "David", and "Evan".
Since then, the names have changed to, for example "Paula", "Rose", "Sally, "Teresa", and "Wanda". We never changed the Task Templates, so at this point the Task Templates STILL show the names "Andy" -" Evan" under "known Servers".
So, we changed the Task Template "known Servers" to ,for example, only "Paula". But, when the Task Begins (in this case a report), and you view the Task Instance, it still shows known servers of "Andy" -" Evan".
    My questions are:
    1. Is my assumption about "knownServers" incorrect?
    2. Is there something else required to have the Task Instances pick up the new "knownServers" attribute?
    3. Can anything else that can be done to have Task Instance runs specifically in a named server (container)?
    Thanks for any help.

  • Create Task Template

I need tasks in collaboration rooms with some custom parameters. How can I create a new task template?

    Hi Denis,
Make a Duplicate template of  "SAP_Project_Template_2". Then you can modify the template as per your requirement (custom papameters).

  • Communication error, DI Template Configuration

    Hi All,
I am trying to execute DI - All in one template through the Configuration Wizard.
I am facing error Error: Communication error [cause: Unable to open connection to host "xyz:50100". The IP address of the host could not be resolved. Maybe the URL is misspelled or the host does no longer exist..]
    Step: Upload Default ACL Settings
The host xyz should be abc and port should be 50000, instead of 50100. First both the systems xyz and abc was there in sld. Seeing this error i deleted xyz from sld, but the error persists. Can anyone suggest where to modify so that it picks proper ACL settings to update, or how can this be resolved. Any immediate answers willl be really helpfull.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Nuzhat

    Hi Nuzhat,
can you please doublecheck your hosts file?
if you have unix, you find it in /etc/hosts
if you have windows, it is in %WINDIR%\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
    Enter here:
    <IP of the host>  <FQDN> <only hostname>
Save the hosts file and restart the install wizard from scratch.

  • Setting IP Address in VMM Service Template/Configuration

I’m attempting to deploy a VM via a Service Template (Service Configuration) where I would like to set the IP Address (as opposed to it just picking the next available IP address from the IP Pool).
Obviously, I can not do this using “Service Settings”, as there is nowhere in the template for me to declare the Service Setting variable.
Therefore, I presume this should be done by updating the “Service Configuration” just before the New-SCService is executed.
After trying various things such as Granting an IP to the VM Configuration’s NIC - The result of this is that I can see the IP Address being allocated within VMM (Get-SCIPAddress), however when the VM gets created it still pulls an IP from the IP Pool (instead
of using the IP i specified) and Get-SCIPAddress shows that the IP was assigned to a Virtual Adapter that has a different ID to the one I see/set in the VM Configuration.
    Any suggestions appreciated!

The ONLY way that you could declare an IP manually (not from an IP pool) is if the NIC properties are set to DHCP and you write a script that manually applies the IP that you pass as a variable.
If the NIC is set to manual SCVMM will (no matter what) take an IP from an IP pool.  As that is what 'manual' means in the SCVMM world - an IP is applied not using DHCP, but SCVMM must be in charge of the IP pool to prevent IP collisions.

I can place my cursor into the "Path to Template" field, my keystrokes don't appear.
How can I change the path name?  I am setting up another VI on this computer but it needs a separate template.

You need to change the ring selection from "Basic Report for Excel" to "Custom Report for Excel".  This allows you to specify your own template.

    Ok try this instead:-
    concat(ns0:property_name, ",", ns0:property_value,"& # 13;") (""&amp sign # 13; ) (use without spaces.)
is supposed to add a new line .
The trick to insert the new line character in XML payload from Oracle BPEL is to append
in the from expression of assign activity, then check your .bpel file it would have &amp;#13; rather than
because Jdeveloper replaces & with its equivalent escape character &amp;. You need to replace &amp; with & so it would become the correct new line character
