Technician charge after tech
First let me start by saying that I am not one who will complain over small charges and fees. I will usually pay to avoid any hassles if it isn't too much. In this case I feel totally wronged by Verizon.
I have a television that is next to a wall outlet that I was trying to get working. I was on the phone with the Technical Support rep on early Sunday morning 8/11/2013 who walked me thru several steps to test the line. It turns out the line was dead so the phone rep told me that they could send out a tech that same day on Sunday to connect the line. I asked if there would be a charge to send out a tech and he told me no. He even said that it was part of my package deal that I signed up for and I would not have to pay. If I was told that I would have to pay, I would have declined the technician service.
I was shocked to receive my bill and find that I have $137 in technician labor charges. I immediately called Verizon Billing and they told me that the Tech Support rep put down a note on the account that he advised me of the charge to send out a technician. This is a FLAT OUT LIE. I told him that all he needs to do is pull up a recording of the phone conversation. I made the phone call to technical support {edited for privacy} on 8/11/2013 at 12:25 am. That phone call lasted 20 minutes. He insisted that they are not able to pull up phone recordings and they he can only go by what the tech support rep noted in the account. So it's my word against the tech support rep who typed something into their system. The billing rep told me that there is nothing that he can do, he is not able to listen to the recording (if there is one), and if I spoke to his supervisor they would tell me the same thing. He was not able to help me or give me any options to remedy this situation.
I have no reason to lie about this. I would have opted not to have the service if I had been told there was going to be a charge. If I agreed to a charge to have a technician come, then I would gladly pay it. I don't know, maybe the Tech Support rep needs to meet a quota of setting appointments so Verizon can charge unwitting customers.
I am respectfully requesting that someone pull up that recording to listen and hear that the phone rep told me that there would not be a charge and in fact even told me that the technician service is FREE. Once this can be verified, I am requesting that Verizon do that right thing and reverse the charge on my account. I sincerely hope someone from Verizon is monitoring this message board and can do something about this.

I had a very similar issue with what I believe is a less than satisfactory outcome. I had been on a low speed DSL for quite some time and finally switched to a higher speed DSL plan, and of course after switching, the activation date for my new internet service came and went, and my internet speed did not increase.
So, I contact Verizon customer support, and without indicating that this would be a billable event, they indicate that they will send out a technician. The technician shows up only to find that there's nothing at the house that is having issues, so he runs test to the central office only to find that my internet speed is still being limited to 0.5-1 Mbps. So, he calls the billing department on my cell phone (since he's unable to get the central office to 3-way call the billing department) and tries to put everyone on speaker phone. Long story short, the order never went through properly and there was never anything the technician could do at my house to have fixed this.
Like the original poster, I was surpised to be charged $137 for the labor charge. I called the billing department and was told that my account also had a note indicating that I was advised there would be a charge. If I had known this was the case, I certainly would not have asked for a technician to come either. Not only that, the labor that I'm being charged for never had any chance of fixing my problem since it was the central office that was limiting my internet speed since the order didn't properly go through. The billing account rep tried to help me as best as she could, but I'm still dissatsfied with the outcome.
Verizon made a mistake which resulted in me not getting the promised service speed on my activation date. Then, they made a mistake by sending a technician to fix something that could never have been fixed by the technician coming out to my house in the first place. On top of that, they never told me there would be a charge for sending out the technician, which I would have declined, but wrote it into my account. Now, I'm expected to pay for the mistakes that Verizon made.
Although it seems that finding a resolution to these issues through the forums is hit-or-miss, I figured it would be worth a shot. At the very least, if it happens to someone else, they can know they're not alone.

IPod not recognized (for sync OR charging) after OS 4 upgrade
I upgraded to OS4 on Saturday July 10th with no problems. On Sunday (July 11) I used my iPod quite a bit. I was at a friend's house and the battery was getting low so he charged it through his computer. It charged completely and we continued using it the rest of the day. I plugged it in to my PC to charge it Sunday night and it was not recognized at all (for charging OR for syncing) through any of the USB hubs. I asked my friend the method he used to charge it that day and he confirmed it was via computer. Monday night I tried charging it through a friend's iMac. It charged halfway, though it still wasn't recognized. Tuesday morning I tried to charge it on the same computer and I got the "too much power drawn from the USB hub - HUB deactivated" message on ANY of the HUBs. It still doesn't work on my own home computer (though it HAD been working Friday night and Saturday morning pre-OS4 installation).
I'm personally running Ubuntu 10.04 but obviously only was able to charge the iPod on that system. Anytime I want to sync or download music I restart to Windows Vista (and iTunes).
I do also have apps installed, but nothing new from the previous OS - (I know that blaming third party apps is a common cop-out answer for apple techs).
I hope this wasn't too confusing. My real problem is simply described by my subject line: iPod not recognized (for sync OR charging) after OS 4 upgrade. What follows is simply everything I've done to troubleshoot. The only thing I haven't tried is restore...because my iPod isn't even recognized by iTunes.
I would greatly appreciate any help or stories related stories/situations. Strength (and hopefully solutions) in numbers!
Best,
DanAssuming you haven't got the cords mixed up with another, older iPod, it sounds like you have a couple of problems:
1. Your computer's USB ports have quit working. Reboot your computer and see if they reactivate.
2. Your friend's iMac generated that message because you tried to charge the device from the low power keyboard USB port. iPods need to be charged off one of the main USB ports or a powered hub.
3. iPods not being recognized by iTunes can be caused by 1) wrong cable; 2) non-functioning USB ports; 3) iTunes not being the correct version for the iPod OS; and finally 4) Apple Mobile Device Services driver is either stopped, missing, or disabled.
To troubleshoot a problem with Apple Mobile Device Services, see the Apple support article: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1567 -
My macbook pro won't power up or charge after i cleaned the screen and keyboard with a damp cloth
Do not try to use it. Make an appointment at an Apple store genius bar and have the technicians evaluate it for FREE.

Hello. I recently pieced together a late 2008 MacBook Pro 15". Everything works fine except the battery constantly goes between "not charging" and "calculating" or, rarely "charging". It does charge after a long while and will report that it is charged.
I have reset the NVRAM and the SMC a couple of time but that didn't work so I ran an Apple Hardware Test and while testing the logic board it gives the following error:
4SNS/1/40000000 LB1T
I've done some research and found this is a temperature sensor related to the battery, but cannot find where the sensor is located in the computer. Would you know how I can find the sensor to test it? Could my battery problem be related to something else? Would a fresh install of Lion help?
Thank you!
Mike
Two pieces of information that may or may not b helpful, the hard drive is from my early 2008 MBP and the only test disc I have access to is from an iMac.Why do you have LION installed on that older machine?
So you say you built a macbook from a bucket of parts eh? Kudos
heres a pic of the battery temp sensor -
My iPad won't charge after plugging into my computer and after holding down the power and home button at same time for 10 seconds… Can anybody help? Has IOS7.0 but not the most up-to-date version
It's just the battery sign - nothing else. I've tried to reboot by holding down both power and home key for 10+ seconds, waiting for the apple logo - but nothing happens. It's plugged into the imac at the moment. I tried to recharge it overnight using the normal charger - but no luck. It went dead during a Skype call with a friend - even though it was powered into the mains - albeit at a low battery level at the time

IPhone 6 take longer time to charge after upgrading to ios 8.2
Did someone have the same problem with me? After updating to ios 8.2, time taken to fully charge the battery seem longer than usual. Usually, it take roughly about an hour to charge from 10% to 100% but now it take nearly 3 hour. I have try to pull out the charging cable when the battery reach 96% and then plug in back after a few second. The battery percentage shows 100% after i plug in the charger. Is there something wrong with the system or the battery?
I have this problem too. My iphone isn't recognizing ANY charger after upgrading to 8.2

Water damage is totally unpredictable. If it was salt water the phone is definitely dead. If it was not you MAY be able to recover it by putting it in a sealed plastic bag full of uncooked plain rice (not quick cooking or "converted") for at least a week without attempting to turn it on. Better yet, if you can get silica gel easily that works better than rice. If you have tried to turn it on it may be too late for this. -
Ipad 3 won't charge after updating to ios 6. even with apple charger

I forgot my ipad on charge after 100%,is this bad for ipad battery?
I forgot my ipad on charge after 100%,is this bad for ipad battery?
Once the battery was fully charged, the smart circuitry stops charging the battery. Power is then used just for running the device, and the charging circuits will not cut back in until the battery has spontaneously drifted down by 5%-10% of a full charge (which should take days with a normal, healthy battery).
You cannot over charge any Apple device. -
My ipad 2 won't hold a charge after installing ios 7
I use the authentic Apple charger and my ipad 2 won't hold a charge after installing ios 7. What is the fix for this miserable wasteful upgrade that made all of our iPads unusable ! I Shut off location, turned off brightness, shut down and took off apps. WHAT NOW for my iPad ?
Batteries eventually fail, and it sounds like that's happened with your iPad. You'll need to take or send it Apple to get the battery replaced. See:

Ipad won't charge after upgrade to 7.1.2
Apple recommened install update. After the update started having problem battery won't charge. I took it to the apple store last July 13 they did hard reset it work for one day and went back to the same problem won't charge. Please help
Could be the charger, cable or iPad. Plug the USB cable into your computer. It may say "Not Charging", however, it is charging slowly and will verify that the cable is good. If your computer/iTunes does not recognize the iPad, then the cable is probably bad.
Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.

At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. Why do my recent app updates stay on the update page after updating?
Why won't my iPad take a full charge after installing IOS7.3?Having the updated apps stay on the Update page in the App Store app is a new feature. It is especially usefu to those that have auto app update turned on. You then have a record of the recently updated apps, the new features they have and when they were updated.
Are you charging your iPad with the wall charger that came with it or by some other means. The wall charger is the best way to charge the iPad. If it is failing to fully charge a reset might help. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.
