They LIE! They WON'T SHIP IT TO YOUR WORK!!

All of these press releases, etc. that say "have it shipped to your home or work" blah blah blah! Such LIES!! They will ONLY ship it to your address on file with AT&T, which MUST be the same address that your visa bill goes to, which canNOT be a p.o. box.
So, for those of us who have our mail and bill sent to a box, but want our iPhones delivered to the address we will physically BE at on the 24th - we're screwed!

this really has been a nightmare!
I changed my billing address to match my shipping address. But then the AT&T site says it's delivering the phone on the 25th, and the Apple site says "between June 24th and July 2nd".
I know in all likelihood it'll probably show up on the 24th. But I already sold my 3G and I've promised to ship it out on the 24th when I pick up my new phone. This whole fiasco is going to make me a liar! And I leave on a cross country trip on the 28th. So July 2nd will screw everything up.
So now I've had to bag the nice idea of having the phone shipped to me, and just put in a reservation to pick it up at the apple store on the 24th. So you'll see me there, surrounded by 500 of my soon to be closest friends!!

I thought public relations was supposed to be about making people love your product! I would have rather had them tell me the 27th, guarantee it for the 27th, and have them behind the scenes actually start shipping them out on the 23rd and surprise us.

    Alright, my (long-term) gig has ended very abruptly and I'm looking for work. Hunting around the web for stuff to apply for (Mandy.com, Craigslist, etc), I've noticed that folks seem to want links to online reels or samples emailed to them.
    As far as online reels, I get it. Mostly. I'm just a little lost when it comes to signing up for web space. Any video-friendly recommendations for a now totally-broke editor? I can work the HTML to build a site - that ain't no thing - but most of the low-end sites that I see have pretty puny bandwidth limits. I think ya'll can sympathize when I say that 200MB a month just doesn't cut it.
    Also, what is the deal with emailing samples? Anyone ever had to do that? I don't do the 30-sec spot thing (which you can get down to size and still retain some quality), most of my stuff is long-form, so any advice in terms of compression codecs and settings?
    Basically, I'm working off the idea that files need to be, say, 8MB or smaller. Is that right? Or do I just not get the idea of 'emailing samples?' (Multiple, smaller files OK?)
    My reel - which doesn't really demonstrate what I can do, but that's a whole 'nother thread - is 16 minutes long in DVD form. I think I can shave off 3.5 minutes from that, if need be. But how do I get 12.5 minutes to somebody via email?
    Any insight or experiences are appreciated.
    And, oh, please, no links to Patrick Sheffield's reel, please. I'm depressed enough as it is - I don't need to see that (again) and fall off the wagon. Thanks.

    I use he.net. I've been very pleased for about 4 years now. I wish I had my new site up so you could see...but it's still under construction.
    What I have found is their servers are very fast, and have worked flawlessley for general clips, as well as client previews. I've actually found that, be previewing via the web, it sped up the editing process. No more, "well, I could come this afternoon and look at it, but I can't be there until 4." They just look at it at their desk and done. It's also made me able to hold onto a lot of my California based clients after I moved back to Iowa. Anyway. I'm rambling. Their servers are fast.
    I get 5GB of storage & 100GB of traffic for $24.95/mo. They also offer 1GB storage & 25GB of transfer for $9.95.
    Again, not a commercial, just a very satisfied customer.
    I had a different host before, and their servers were slow. Took forever to begin playback of a video clip. Same clip on he.net started almost instantly from the same net cnxn.

  • My phone was taken from me off the Edge and they won't give it back!

    Back in September of 2013 I bought in to the Edge program when I was told I could cancel the line AND the phone at any time.  I was told that I could return the phone AT ANY TIME (not just within the 14days) and everything would be cancelled.  On March 10th I went into a corporate store and cancelled the line and returned the phone.  The sales rep even analyzed the phone to make sure it was in good condition so he could cancel the edge contract.  By the way the phone was an HTC one.  So he told me I would see a charge on my phone bill for 24.99 every month but that I would also see a credit for 24.99 for several months until the contract ran out.  I said ok.  He took my phone.  They seemed confused - he was asking the store manager for assistance.  So 2 days later I call customer service to verify that everything had been done correctly.  Customer Service informs me that the corporate store did not cancel the contract and that I had to go back to  have them cancel it.  My son goes in and gets them to do that.  Great.  So I get my bill and I'm still being charged for the phone.  OK.  I call customer service and they clarify that the phone is mine and I have to pay it out.  No problem.  I understand the contract requirements.  Oh well right? NOOOOO!  I go back to the corporate store to retrieve my HTC one phone and they tell me they don't have it anymore.  Furthermore there is nothing they can do about it and I will continue to see the charge on my bill until I finish paying for the phone.  I call corporate and speak to Antonio - a supervisor- and he informs me that I can go to the store and dispute it with the manager who just informed me he would not give me my phone back and that I would still have to pay for the device.  REALLY?  MOM:  Go ask your dad    DAD: Go ask you mom  REALLY?  They are blaming each other and no one is resolving THE PROBLEM.  I don't care who is at fault...give me my phone back so I can see/use what I am paying for.  I have 5 phones on my plan and have been with this company since Western Wireless, Cellular One, Alltel, and Verizon.  No one had failed me til now.  They keep referring to the 'NOTES' that everyone has been putting in the system.  Some of it is true.  Some of it is not.  But they only go by what their people are noting.  What about me?  What about MY truth?  I cannot believe what is happening.  Just because you put people in those positions doesn't mean they are honest and capable.  So now what?

    I had the same thing happen to me recently. I went to Best Buy and did the Early Edge option to get an LG G3. Best Buy tells me I have to send my iPhone 5S to Verizon within 14 days to not get hit with a fee. I send in my iPhone after two days.
    Fast forward a week and I decided I didn't want to have the extra monthly cost added to my bill. I call Verizon before I return anything, and they said "Oh when you return it you will go back to your normal 2 year contract and once we get the phone back you can go to a Verizon store and pick up a refurbished iPhone 5S". I return the phone to Best Buy and was fortunate enough to have an older work phone lying around to use while I go and pick up a replacement device.
    NO SUCH LUCK. Verizon said that in the Edge agreement once I send the phone away they don't have to give you anything back even if you cancel it. How this is not considered robbery is beyond me. Also, how any lawyer or judge would agree that an agreement like that is legal is also beyond me. So Verizon pretty much took $400 from me.
    The customer service rep actually said I could either buy a phone off eBay or re-join the Edge program. I respectfully told them I wasn't going to give Verizon any more of my money considering they just took $400 from me. It's sad that you get told one thing by Support, and then they screw you the next minute. Definitely canceling my service when I can and not recommending Verizon to anyone since they won't do the right thing. 

  • Angry with Creative Tech Support!!! Battery fried and they won't help!

    I am seething with anger right now over the awful Tech support I just received from Creative's Tech support phone line. I called to find out how I can get my almost new less than 2yrs old Creative Zen Sleek Photo 20gb MP3 players battery replaced. I am sure that my brand new Toyota Prius mp3 AUX jack fried the batter in my player. I have owned this for less than 2 years, and I hardly ever used this player. I always kept it charged fully and rarely played it.
    I have kept my player plugged into the AUX jack in my new Prius for the past 3 weeks, I went to turn it on yesterday and the battery was dead, it would not power up, so I just thought I forgot and left it on in the car and the battery just needed to be charged. I charged it up from 5pm last night to 6am this morning and it still showed it was charging, but no progress was being made on it. I unplugged it and tried to power on, nothing,, dead,, so I plugged it back into the charger and powered it on, it came one and started playing, then I left it on and unplugged it from the charger and within 20 seconds it gave me the warning that the battery was low and it was shutting down. The battery bar was completely white and showed that it was not charged at all from all those hours of charging, it usually charges full within 4 hours, it had been plugged in for 3 hours with it not being charged at all, yet it showed that it was charging..
    So, I know the battery is now fried, and I am sure the Prius AUX jack killed the battery, I have already heard of one other person this happening to on a Prius message board.
    So, I called up Creative this morning to just ask them how much to put in a new internal battery and fix it, they won't do it because it is out of warranty,, I told them I know it is out of warranty, but I am willing to pay? them to fix it, they told me that don't do? that, and I then asked very nicely and calmly to please direct me in how I can get it fixed, silence,,, from the agent,, she did not know what to say, basically she kept telling me I would just have to buy a new one.. I repeatly asked her to please tell me if the internal battery is replaceable by "SOMEBODY", I know Creative will not repair it, but you cannot tell me that this player is garbage now and nobody can fix it just because Creative refuses to do so.
    I then asked her how they can make a $250 product that cannot be repaired once it is out of warranty. I asked her what kind of company makes products that are not fixable?, This does not make any sense at all. once again, silence from her.. I kept? repeating that I just want to know if the battery can be replaced by somebody and how to go about finding out. She acted like it was a big secret. I said, Look, I know you won't fix it, but it has to be fixable by somebody... right,, or are you telling me that once the warranty is out, products just need to be thrown away in the garbage and replaced with a new one,, there is nothing else wrong with the player, the battery is just fried, that is all, as it still works when it is plugged in to the charger.
    You cannot tell me that a company like this makes internal batteries that are NOT fixable once they break, and the ONLY solution is just to buy a new product? This is insane, if this is the case I will NEVER buy another Creative product again..
    I have now called Toyota to see what they are going to do about this, but I'm not sure how I can proove that the AUX jack really did the damage. I know it did, but all I want to find out is how to get somebody to replace the internal battery.
    I have over 4,000 songs on this thing and I don't want to buy a new one and have to download them all again, this took me over 6 months to do this...
    Does anybody have any suggestions, I really truly disappointed in Creative and how they operate. I asked to speak to a supervisor and she wanted to pass me along to another Agent, I said NO, I want your name and the supervisors name and I am now waiting for a call back within 48 hours they told me.

    HI, Thanks for the websites, I did find some yesterday,, Be assured that if your player is out of warranty Creative will not repair it for you even if you tell them that you will pay for the repair. They just don't care, they want people to just buy a new one and they will refuse to tell you that there are places out there that will fix it for you. It is like some big secret I guess and their customer service reps in the Tech dept. will NOT tell you this. To me, this is such a deception and the most awful customer service in my opinion. I can guarantee that I will never buy another creative product again if? this is how they deal with customers that have purchased their products.
    I was not blaming them for the battery not working or anything just wanted their help in finding out how I can get it fixed. Crap happens and things break, but if Creative truly has the opinion that they will refuse to talk to you after the warranty has run out, this is totally appalling. I actually had to lie when I called and I had to hit the button that said that my player was less than 6 months old. Because there was NO way for me to talk to a li've person or get any questions answered by them if the player was out of warranty. They direct you to the website help, but that site is NOT working, and I still get a message today telling me that some "Kana" help website is currently not responding. This has been doing this since yesterday.
    So, right off the bat you are already shown that Creative could care less about their products after the warranty runs out.
    Oh, and I never said in my post that I did not have my music backed up on CD's or on the Computer, I merely said that I did not feel like downloading all 4,000 songs again onto a new player, that takes time. I have over 25,000 songs, almost my entire CD collection on my computer and it does take time to go over all those again and pick the ones I would want on a new player. All of my music is backed up, that does not mean though that it is not a pain in the butt to transfer them all to?a new player. I certainly will not buy another Creative product, so I would in essence have to start all over again and pick out the ones I want on a new player.
    I'm in the process now of finding one of those repair places on the web to fix it, but I will never buy another product from Creative again

    Am I the only fool who clicked on update all when my iPad told me updates were available?  Two updates loaded just fine, but the other four never updated and now lie useless and grayed out. I had 6 Apps that needed updating on my iPad original.  I hit "Update All" and that ruined four Apps.  They won't download the updates, nor will they launch and be useable either.  I lost Splashtop 2, Bible!, and Mercury Browser!  Suggestions?!  I don't want to ruin my access to Splashtop 2 for sure.

    I fixed it by going through a few steps using iTunes while hooked to my computer.

  • Apple sent me the wrong iPhone4, they won't send me the right one back!!

    The fedex guy knocks on my door, I get my iphone4 today, I was all excited after waiting for 2 weeks, but when I open the case I found a 16gig iPhone4 instead of the 32gig I ordered. After waiting over one hour on the phone with support, they tell me that I am right, they sent the wrong phone.
    What baffles me is their "solution" to the problem: they tell me that they have to place a return order on the phone and that once they get it back, I will be refunded and then I need to reorder AGAIN, from scratch! As if nothing happened, they send me to the back of the looong waiting line. They will not send the right iphone immediately, even though they made the mistake.
    So pretty much I have to wait who knows how long to get the phone because they messed up. They won't express ship it, they won't give me one on the store in exchange (actually, I cannot even do the return on a store because I ordered online!!). All they did was to offer me one of those overpriced bumper cases of them as consolation.
    Sorry, about the long rant, but I am really upset. This is not the way to treat anybody. I don't know if I want the phone now, but I guess they could care less after all the ones they are selling. Did I mention I am an apple fan?

  • When I try to import songs/playlists to my iPhone 6, grey spotted circle shows up next to most songs and they won't play. Help

    I just set up my iPhone 6. I made a full backup from my 5 to iTunes. Everything was backed up and transferred except any of my music. Simple enough to do it manually, I thought and tried. But when I transfer a playlist from iTunes to the iPhone most songs show up in light grey with a dotted circle next to them once they are on the iPhone list and they won't play.
    There are lots of threats about grey dotted circles from the past. Does anybody know what the issue is? I have the newest iTunes version and IOS version (8.02) for the 6. Why is this happening and how can this be fixed? This is all my music on my mac and most of it was on my previous iPhone 5, so why won't it play on the 6?

    I was asking a little fast. It did indeed not work for a little while (up to 20 minutes) but once I started chatting with apple support it started resolving itself. The grey dotted circles mean two things. 1) the computer was taking some time to transfer the songs onto the phone (quite some time for some songs) but then they appeared on my phone. and 2) those songs I purchased, I can listen to on my phone and my imac, but they will remain unable to play (grey dotted circle) when I look at them on iTunes in my iphone playlist. So, I can play it on regular itunes or on my iphone, but not in my iphone folder on itunes. I hope that makes sense.
    So problem got resolved for me. I hope this helps.

    My friend upgraded to a touch and in turn gave me her old classic. She put a whole bunch of music on there from different cd's but after seeing what she still had on it she realized she lost some of those songs on her computer. I tried to get them off with the transfering puchased music, but they won't come off! She bought this music fair in square and would like to have them back. How in the world do i get them back to her?

    The music sync is one way - computer to ipod.  The exception is itunes purchases.
    As the songs came from her computer in the first place, so they should still be there and should be included in her regular backup copy of her computer.
    You need to restore the ipod, erasing all of the music as you have no legal right to it.

    Go back to iTunes, select the Music tab, uncheck the 'sync music; button, then hit apply.

    Thanks. I haven't mixed down the audio or checked the number of tracks in Prefs. Good points.
    As far as a mixdown goes, I'll definitely give it a try, though I wonder whether or not the tracks will be recognized during mix down recording - given that you can't hear either of those segments in playback. Just have to try.
    Re the preferred number of allowed tracks - I'll go check as soon as I send this off, but I'm not sure that applies in this case, since the two Channels containing the segments that are pinked out are not in additional tracks. I should have mentioned that other audio clips and segments on the same Channels in the SAME tracks ARE heard in playback. As are two additional track in the 2nd Sequence. It's only when the two sequences are joined that the pink tinted segments can't be heard. Within the sequence the same audio cuts playback as they should. Thanks again &

  • Some of my songs in iTunes show up but they won't play. I get the message that my computer isn't authorized to play them when I only have one computer.

    I recently did the update for iTunes and after I did that I got the error message: MSVCR80.dll file not found.  I followed the suggestions from someone in this community to fix it and now some of my songs aren't playing.  And they are the ones that I purchased from iTunes not CDs that I have and ripped to my iTunes library. I can see the songs listed in my iTunes library as well as on my iPod but yet they won't play.  On my computer I get the message that this computer is unauthorized to play them and to authorize it.  I only have one computer, so I have no idea why I'm getting this message.  And does anyone have any suggestions as to how to get all of the iTunes songs to play again?

    It sounds like you have some songs in your library that are not playing, and when you try to play them you are being told the computer is not authorized to play them. I would start by verifying that your computer is still authorized, and take note of the Apple ID that you sign in with:
    To authorize a computer, follow these steps:
    Open iTunes.
    Choose Store > Authorize This Computer from the menu bar.
    You may need to show the menu bar to see this option in Windows. In earlier versions of iTunes, you can access this option from the Advanced menu.
    Enter your Apple ID and click Authorize.
    If your Apple ID uses an expired MobileMe account, you can still authorize your computer.

    If the issue persists, next I would use the following article to double check that these songs were purchased under the same Apple ID you used to authorize the computer:

    Highlight one of the items you have purchased (You can find your purchases in your Purchases playlist).
    Choose File > Get Info.
    Click the Summary tab.

    If it is the same Apple ID then I would next delete the song, and re download it from your purchased history, with this article named:

    You can sync the music videos, but they won't play on your 6G Nano, because it does not support video playback. Sorry.

    Have you actually been charged? Did you convert from MobileMe?  If so, you'll be automatically put on that plan, but revert to the free one when your current one expires.
