Time management and Payroll

Hi Team,
_My first question:_
Kindly can you let me know how does the data go and get process in Payroll apart from the below points?
I would like to share with you my knowledge on it.
Integration between IT0007 and IT0008-Capacity utilization
After running Time evaluation Time results will get procerssed in Payroll through cluster B2.
In the payroll schema XT00 is the sub schema where Payroll takes the Time data and process in Payroll.
_My second question_
Does XT00 reads cluster B2?
_My third question_
Whether TC:PT60/Report :RPTQTA00 is used to generate quotas?
I would like to share with you my knowledge on it.
I see that in both ways they can be generated. But let me know in what cases we use PT60 and RPTQTA00.
_My fourth question_
How can we carry forward the balance quota of the previous year to the next year with specific validity dates ?
And also how can we carryforward only certain no.of quota ?
Team sorry for such a long questionnaire .Kindly help me in getting answer and clarity on the above questions.
Regards,
Vimal

Hi,
Q1:Kindly can you let me know how does the data go and get process in Payroll apart from the below points?
A1:Time evaluation integration with payroll: just as you said, but if no time eavluation run for some days in the payroll period, TC00 will be perform to run time data processing in payroll without B2 written.
Without time evaluation: sub schema TC00 will be performed to run time data processing in payroll without B2 written.
Q2:Does XT00 reads cluster B2?
A2:  Yes, but depends on time management status of infotype 0007(time evaluation inte. with payroll)
Q3:Whether TC:PT60/Report :RPTQTA00 is used to generate quotas?
A3: Yes, both can generate quotas. For some simple case, or not implement time evaluation or have nothing to do with time type, you should use RPTQTA00. But for some special case, or time quota gen. with time types, you should use PT60.
Example:
case 1:Total 12 days one year, but 1 day increased each month, you should use PT60 to generate montly and increase.
case 2:Overtime transfer to leave: you should use PT60, because it relates to time type (overtime)
case 3:12 days one year, accrual at the beginning of year, you should use PT60 if you do not implement time evaluation.
Q4:How can we carry forward the balance quota of the previous year to the next year with specific validity dates ?
And also how can we carryforward only certain no.of quota ?
A4:We can use time evaluation and write some PCR to achieve or just simple to set the validity dates and deduction priority.
Hope helps,
Chen Jian

  • Difference between Time Management and Time Evaluation

    Hello
Is there any Difference between Time Management and Time Evaluation? if yes, then what is it? I guess there's no diff, time evaluation is a report..
    please advice
    Thanks

    Hi Charlene,
Time management can be divided into 3 steps
    1.Time Recording
    2.Time Evaluation
    3. Planning
    Time Evaluation :
The recorded time data is grouped and converted to wage types which can be used by payroll for compensation.SAP provides a time evaluation program RPTIME00 for this purpose.
Standard schemas TM00 and TM04 are used for evaluation of time data got from positive and negative time recording approaches.
time evaluation program RPTIME00 also calculates accrual and entitlement for employees.

  • Time Management without Payroll?

Has anyone implemented Time Management without Payroll?  I am in the process of coming up with a design on retrieving payable hours from the B2 cluster and send them to an external payroll system.  The problem I am running into is knowing what has changed (if hours were added or deleted in the past) without having to keep my own version of the cluster the last time Time Eval was run and comparing to this time.
    Any help is appreciated...

I had this problem view years ago (Release 4.0)
You have to use the Report RPTEZL00 to made the wagetypes for the other payroll - the problem was the table T599Z - that is used to translate the SAP LGA into the other LGA - the check ends in both times in T512W

  • TIME MANAGEMENT AND ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE

    Good afternoon,
We are going to customize the Time Management (PT) and the Organizational structure (OM) modules in SAP version ECC 6. At the moment we have installed an configured a lot of SAP modules: Personal Administration (PA), Payroll (PY), besides other modules not related directly with HR like PM, MM, IS-U, etc.
    We need::
    - To be able to define the organizational structure of the company with every work unit, inside every work unit locate the employees with their functions and positions, etc.
    - To know the number of employees that are avalaible for a service requirement (PM module)
    - To manage with SAP all the absences when the employees don't go to work.
We have had training of some official courses but I think that they are not enough to achieve the goal, I think we need some kind of guide.
Do you know if exists any consult SAP note or other kind of document where it's explained the steps or the good practices for the customization of these SAP modules (OM, PT).
    Thanks in advance,

  • Time and Payroll aspects in PA & OM modules implementation

    Hi all,
We are implementing PA & OM modules in HR. Time Management and Payroll is not in the scope of the project.
I need to know what aspects of Time and Payroll to be configured for PA & OM implementation. The client has hourly and salaried employees. The hourly employees submit their time sheet (excel) to their managers and then it is forwarded to Payroll (Ceridian). The LOA records are also forwarded to Payroll. So the time, absences and pay are not tracked by HR department. All time and pay details are maintained in HR legacy system, but not processed by HR. In this scenario, what aspects of Time Mgmt and Payroll to be configured? Is there a need to maintain IT0007?
How to set up Payscale Type, Payscale Area, Payscale Group and Level?
    Please guide.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Do you have plan to maintain It0007 (Planned working time) and IT0008 (Basic pay) as part of PA means do you need to maintain working time and basic pay info for ell employee in SAP system? Ifyes, then you need to configure below steps for IT0007 & IT0008.
    For IT0007:-
    a) Configure public Holiday and Holiday calendar
    b) Define grouping PSA for work schedule
    c) Define grouping PSA for daily work schedule
    d) Define break
    e) Define daily work schedule
    f) Define period work schedule
    g) Defind ESG for work schedule
    h) Set work schedule rules
    i) Generate work schedule and assign to employee in IT0007.
Path:- SPRO > PM > Time management >
work schedule (You will get all nodes under that)
    For IT0008
    a) Configure wage type
    b) Define ESG grouping for PCR and CAP
    c) Define pay scale type (Path:- SPRO > PM > PA > Payroll data > Basic pay > Define pay scale type)
    d) Define pay scale area ((Path:- SPRO > PM > PA > Payroll data > Basic pay > Define pay scale area)
    e) Define pay scale group & level (Path:- SPRO > PM > PA > Payorll data > Basic pay > Define pay scale group & level or SM30 >T510)
Then you can maintain IT0008 info for employee.

  • Difference between a positive time and negative time management.Explain with screenshots.

    Hi gurus!
I would like to know the difference between Positive time management and negative time management.
    thx & regards,
    raju

    Hi Nagaraju,
    I am adding more information..
Whether or not an employee is on positive or negative time is determined by the time management status on IT0007. Status 1 or 2 = positive time; status 9 = negative time.
In a standard system, positive time recording means the employee is required to record time (absence or attendance) for any day on which he is scheduled to work according to his generated work schedule. Negative time recording means an employee does not need to record time unless he has an exception to his normal working time; so absences are typically recorded as well as overtime or time work on days for which the employee is not scheduled to work.
Schema TM00 is used to process positive time employees for whom clock times are entered; that is, every record has a start and end time.
Schema TM04 processes both positive and negative time employees. The key distinction between TM00 and TM04 is TM04 does not require start and end times on every entry. Records with start and end times cna be processed in TM04. However, the records do not require these entries.
In TM04 you will see code using IF, ELSE, ENDIF statements during the import process to separate the import of time data for positive and negative time employees.
Positive time employees use the following data import statements in the schema:
P2011 Import IT2011 records to TIP; regardless of whether the EE has IT2011, load the work schedule to TZP. If no IT2011 record exists, TIP is empty.
    P2001 Load absences
    P2002 Load attendances
Negative time employees use the following data import statements:
P2000 This is the critical difference between positive and negative employees. P2000 loads the daily work schedule to the TIP table as if the employee workede; that is, if the employee is scheduled to work from 8:00 to 17:00, this record will now appear on TIP. The work schedule details are also added to TZP.
P2001 Load absences -- to pick up exceptions to planned working time
P2002 Load attendances -- again to pick up exceptions, special costing information, overtime, alternate payments, premiums or any other variation from normal schedule work.
So if you want to determine if you are using positive or negative time, check the time management status on the employees.
    Regards
    Siva

  • UNABLE TO GET SALARY BASED ON HOURS ( POSITVE TIME MANAGMENT )

    Hi Vivek,
                    Your document was great.
I am implementing positive time management and at present i am entering the clock in and clock-out in IT-2011 manually for testing and when i run PT60 using TM00 schema it was not showing any errors but data in 'ZL' it was showing as no entries.
And to cross check i have executed  'PC00_M40_CALC' but the payroll was caluclated based on no. of days( negative tm).
I am new to TM concept please help me out.
    Thanks,
    Saikrishna.

    Hi,
Here are some answers/comments to your question above.
    1. You should not make any changes in schema TM00 (Standard SAP Schema) - copy this to a custom schema (ZM00) in transaction PE01 and add logic/make changes in this custom schema.
    2. Entries will not automatically be created in the ZL table just because you have IT2011 (Table TEVEN) entries. ZL entries are created either through PCR logic, or via table T510S (Wage type generation) entries. These are both very complex Time Management concepts that require a lot of studying and understanding in order to take raw data and generate the appropriate wage types at the appropriate time. This is important because based upon raw clock in and clock out's alone the system does not know if it should generate regular hours, overtime, double time, holiday pay etc - you have to do the configuration to tell the system what to generate and when to generate it.
    3. As far as your issue within the payroll driver (Basic Salary being created on the basis of number of date) - I believe this could be based upon either wage type setup or your Pay Scale configuration and this associate's Infotype 8. You probably have him setup like a salaried associate. Check the following area in the IMG Personnel Management --> Personnel Administration --> Payroll Data --> Basic Pay
Good luck on your journey to learning SAP Time Management/SAP Payroll.
    Thanks,
    Imran

  • Time Management - Time Recording System

    Hi,
I want to connect time recording system to sap hr- time management for payroll. According to actual time overtime, leaves & payroll has to run.
I have used TMS is 9. Please anybody guide me in this ASAP.
    Thanks in advance.

    Sunitaos,
    Read the following steps:
    1.  Time recording system (legecy system/time recording terminal) records time events (Employee arrival, short leave, official out, etc) and store it in .text file or in access database.
    2.  ABAPER (SAP programmer) maps this .text or .mdb file to Time Recording Information Infotype IT2011.
    3.  Run Time Evaluation Driver RPTIME00
    4.  RPTIME00 segregate each time event and store it in respective infotypes. for example Absence is recorded in Absence IT IT2001, Attendence in IT2002, overtime in IT2005
    5.  Now use Time Management Status in Planned Working Time InfoType IT0007 to integrate Time Management with payroll. You can use TMSTA feature to store default value for Time Management Status. The possible values are:
    0 No time evaluation
1 Time evaluation of actual times
    2 PDC time Evaluation
7 Time evaluation without payroll integration
    8 External services
9 Time evaluation of planned times
    6.  As you have set the Time Management Status to value 9; this means your Time Management is integrated with payroll.  And as you run RPTIME00, this time evaluation driver generates Time Wage Types besides segregating time events.  Time Wages Types are evaluated in payroll.
Hope your question is answered, dear.
