Transport request in single system landscape
Hi,
In single system landscape we are having only two clients (dev & prd), we are using T-code scc1 to transport a request from dev client to prd client.for this every time we are changing the production client settings.could anyone suggest me how to transport a request with out using scc1.
Thanks & Regards,
Reddy v
Hi,
you have only one system and two clients? Then you simply cannot use CMS functionality. Maybe it is possible to create transport target group and set up a client dependent transport control, but I've never tried it on one system landscape. Read more: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/44/b4a0137acc11d1899e0000e829fbbd/frameset.htm
If I where you I'd use virtualization and install two SAP systems on virtual machines, then use standard 2 system landscape. It's much safer for your repository!!!

Transporting a request in single system landscape
Hi,
I our single system landscape, we are using the scc1 t-code to transport a request from dev client to prd client, then it showing a message like target client is productive and protected against client copy for this reason every time we are changing the production client settings. please give me suggestions how to transport a request in single system landscape with out using scc1 t-code.
Regards,
ReddyOlivier,
Are you sure SCC1 is just for client copy? I dont think so.
Client Copy transaction is SCCL for a local copy and SCC9 for remote client copy.
SCC1 allows to transport local requests within different clients, of course depending of what the transport request contains you can copy something simple or a lot of data (yes, I know, the title says something, but see the functionality).
I'm agree is not a good practice to have DEV and PRD in one server, but maybe he is using it for testing purposes? I saw different cases in the past and sometimes they had DEV and QA in one server, maybe this is the case.
Anyways, lets help him on his question.
Reddy, if you have any question, just post it.
Good luck, -
Configure STMS & transports as a single system
Hello,
I configured STMS as a single DEV system, without QA and PRD. I have a requirement to import the transports into the DEV system, after copying cofiles and datafiles from another dev system.
Is it possible to move another system transports into DEV System, configuring it as a single system landscape. If it is possible, kindly provide the steps.
Thanks,
MohiHi
What you meant by "transport do not move" ?
Check here for Configuring Single Systems - Software Logistics - SAP Library
Also as per Matt's update, the same transport request also can be moved from command prompt or shell (on any OS);
log into sidadm
from Command prompt,
1) add request into buffer (this step may not be required if added earlier - as per Matt's update)
tp addtobuffer <transport number> <SID> pf=/usr/sap/trans/bin/<transport profile, i.e. TP_DOMAIN_<SINGLE SYSTEM SID>.PFL
2) then use below tp command to import the specific requests;
tp import <transport number> <SID> CLIENT=<client number> pf=/usr/sap/trans/bin/<transport profile, i.e. TP_DOMAIN_<SINGLE SYSTEM SID>.PFL

Problem during import of 121 transport requests to productive system
Hello
We have problem during import of transport requests to productive system. Import of 121 transport requests stopped very soon in phase "N" (in TRBAT I have only one entry and in TRJOB as well).
In sm50 there is an BGD running under user DDIC in client 000 now for 14453 seconds (program SAPLSDB2). This should be import.
In SM37 I can see it as job "RDDGEN0L" with repport"RDDGENBB". Based on some literature it should perform "Converting all structure changes generated by the import and recorded in table TBATG, other than the structure changes to matchcode objects." Very interesting that TBATG has only four entries related to 2 indexes in table "DFKKOPK" , one in table "DFKKREP06" and one" ENQU" for EFKKEXC". (only this last one has not status error)
For fist two indexes I know they are not present as objects "LIMU""INDX" in any transport request beeing imported.
Also on productive system there is no"VOL" and "ZOL"indexes for table "DFKKOPK"(instead they are created on test system ie. not transported from development to test system)
Last command for that process is "CREATE INDEX "DFKKOPK~HKO" ON "DFKKOPK" ("MANDT", "HKONT", "OPBEL") PCTFREE 10 INITRANS 002 TABLESPACE PSA
PTR3 STORAGE (INITIAL 0000000016 K NEXT 0000000016 K MINEXTENTS 0000000001 MAXEXTENTS UNLIMITED PCTINCREAS"
There is enaught space on disk and in tablespaces (it is an oracle/HPux server).
Does anyone knows workaroun to solve productionare you importing these transport requests simultaneously into production?
I would suggest you try doing in smaller groups of 5 or 10 and then see whether you are able to import the requests

Transport request from development system to testing system
Hi,
I have collected necessary objects in (development) the transport request except 0DUNN_AREA infoObject .Because info object 0COMP_CODE is compounded with Info object 0DUNN_AREA and 0COMP_CODE is in revised version in development system (But available in active version in testing). Suppose I release that transport request from development system to testing system it get overwrite 0COMP_CODE in testing system?
ThanksHi Jk,
Depending the same technical names it will get overwrite in the testing server. But if the object 0DUNN_AREA is necessary in any objects which u have collected then u havce to collect it in the rtequest or else u will get RC8.

Transporting Transport Request from One System to other
Hi All,
I want to create tranport request from ECC 5.0 System to ECC 6.0 system.
Please let me know steps for creating transport request and transporting transport request from one system to other system.
Thanks in advance.
Best Regds,
zuberaHi,
You cannot transport request from ECC5.0 to ECC6.0.
Instead follow this:
<b>In ECC5.0</b>
Include all the objects into a transport request & provide the transport request no. to BASIS.
BASIS team will create 2 files for you based on the transport request no.
<b>in ECC6.0</b>
Provide the 2 files to BASIS Team & ask them to import them.
The objects would be available in ECC6.0
Best regards,

Why MDM in homogenous or single system landscape
<b>Hai expertise,
If at all i need to include MDM in a organization which include only SAP system.. what are all the advantages i will get out of MDM...
In single system landscape we use MDM at the time of upgradation of system..
Any advantages other than that???</b>Govada - You said that you have single system (SAP) landscape for your client...
but you have not clarified if you have other SAP systems like CRM,SRM,BW implemented for your client..If so..MDM will be helpful for consolidating and harmonizing master data across systems..
But if you client has only one R/3 system installed , MDM may not be useful...
Rule of thumb : MDM is fit for the scenarios where you have your Master data residing/being maintained by diffrent systems. (R/3 has its own customer maintainance and CRM has its own..) in this case MDM is of best use.

Single System Landscape on Different Platforms
Hi All,
Is it possible to install one single system landscape on different platforms??
For instance, can I install Quality and Development systems on WIndows with Oracle Database and Production system on AIX with DB2 Database? All these systems belong to a single system landscape.
Is it possible? If it is possible, has someone done it and can i find the docs for that in service market place?
Thanks,
Vadivelan.NHi Nick,
We are planning to go with the two server landscape .
Our current scenario is ,
1. Solution manager on windows & Oracle.
2. DEV & QA on windos and oracle or AIX / DB2. and
3. Production on AIX & DB2.
We wanted to know what will be the technical difficulties which we might face in future if we proceed if DEV & QA is in one platform and PRD in another platform,
Eg,
Some issues might occur in DEV & QA but not in PROD.
I might not be able to replicate some DB related issues or kernel issue..
Issues/impacts like these.

How to release a Transport Request at operating system level
HI,
How to release a Transport Request at operating system level. Please specify the complete commands along with the pf parameters for TP Export only.......<b>tp export <request></b>
This exports the complete request from the source system. This command starts the export of a request from the operating system level. Only use this command in exceptional cases. The SAP System uses the command expwbo to release requests from CTS transactions
<b>tp cleanbuffer <sapsid></b>
This deletes successfully imported change requests from the list of requests that are marked for import into the SAP System <SAPSID>. This function is contained in the commands tp import all <sapsid> and tp put <sapsid> .
<b>tp delfrombuffer <request> <sapsid></b>
If the specified request is marked for import into the specified SAP System, this flag is deleted from the import list.
Reward points if you find this helpful to you. -
Importing transport request bypassing quality system
HI,
I have a transport request in DEV BW system which is released. For some reason my Quality BW system is down so I cannot import the request in Quality BW system.
Usually we release the request from DEV , say request number DBIK1234, then import that request in quality system. After that we import the same request DBIK1234 into Production.
But for some reason quality system is down, so can we import the request bypassing the quality and directly into Production BW system??
Regards,
Rahul SHi Rahul,
Directly Transporting to PRD from DEV is not considered a "Best Practice"
and is therefore not encouraged. You should import into QAS first then the
Request is available in the PRD import buffer, and you can bypass the
recommended testing process if you really want to. However it is still
possible to import directly into PRD by manually adding the Transport
Request to the import Buffer.
We can also configure our TMS to add released TR's to Quality and PRD importing at the same time.
Better if you go through Transport Management System Documentations before you take decision.
Hope this answers your question.

how to import those files into another sap system (those are different sap systems)
could u tel anyone any settings is required and how to import Those Transport request.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks in AdvanceHi Siva,
After copied the datafile and cofile in the target system go to Tcode STMS> select the target system import queue, there you go to menu extras>other request-->add, give the request no and excute it.
It will put the request in the que then you can import it to the target system.

How i can copy my transport request from one system to another system
hi,
i want to copy all my code means( programs,tcode,class,FM...every thing.) which is under a transport request, now i want to copy all this code same as it is in another system
eg.
i have all my objects in for example D10 now i want all my code in some another system for e.g in D30.
how it is possible....Hi Vipin,
Check tcode SE03 for transport related issues.
as suggested by all the TR needs to be released from the current system to make it ready to be transported to next system.
Once you release the request ask your basis administrator to transport the request to D30.
<b>Before releasing the request check with the basis administrator if the target system has been set to D30.</b>

Disable creation of transport request in development system
Hi Sapgurus,
I have a strange requirement. I want to disable the option of transport request creation in development system for all the object.
Waiting for your valuable inputs. Thanks a lot.
Regards,
PritiPriti,
May be this solution is not suggested by SAP.but yes by hook and cook if you really urgent need this we can achieve this i tried by putting a breakpoint here in my system for testing.and i got result.
just open include LSTRDF30 in se38.search for string WHEN 'INSA'. here you can modify your code as below:
CASE okcode.
WHEN 'LOCK'.
PERFORM append_to_order.
WHEN 'OWNA'. " show own orders
PERFORM show_own_orders.
WHEN 'INSA'. " insert new order
SET SCREEN 0. LEAVE SCREEN."this need to be add.
exit.
PERFORM insert_new_order.
WHEN 'ATTR'. " object attributes
SET SCREEN 0. LEAVE SCREEN.
in such manner request will not be generate.
but only access key is required.
Amit.
