Transporting a request in single system landscape

Hi,
I our single system landscape, we are using the scc1 t-code to transport a request from dev client to prd client, then it showing a message like target client is productive and protected against client copy for this reason every time we are changing the production client settings. please give me suggestions how to transport a request in single system landscape  with out using scc1 t-code.
Regards,
Reddy

Olivier,
Are you sure SCC1 is just for client copy? I dont think so.
Client Copy transaction is SCCL for a local copy and SCC9 for remote client copy.
SCC1 allows to transport local requests within different clients, of course depending of what the transport request contains you can copy something simple or a lot of data (yes, I know, the title says something, but see the functionality).
I'm agree is not a good practice to have DEV and PRD in one server, but maybe he is using it for testing purposes? I saw different cases in the past and sometimes they had DEV and QA in one server, maybe this is the case.
Anyways, lets help him on his question.
Reddy, if you have any question, just post it.
Good luck,

    Hi,
you have only one system and two clients? Then you simply cannot use CMS functionality. Maybe it is possible to create transport target group and set up a client dependent transport control, but I've never tried it on one system landscape. If I where you I'd use virtualization and install two SAP systems on virtual machines, then use standard 2 system landscape. It's much safer for your repository!!!

  • Why MDM in homogenous or single system landscape

    <b>Hai expertise,
If at all i need to include MDM in a organization which include only SAP system.. what are all the advantages i will get out of MDM...
In single system landscape we use MDM at the time of upgradation of system..
    Any advantages other than that???</b>

Govada - You said that you have single system (SAP) landscape for your client...
but you have not clarified if you have other SAP systems like CRM,SRM,BW implemented for your client..If so..MDM will be helpful for consolidating and harmonizing master data across systems..
But if you client has only one R/3 system installed , MDM may not be useful...
Rule of thumb : MDM is fit for the scenarios where you have your Master data residing/being maintained by diffrent systems. (R/3 has its own customer maintainance and CRM has its own..) in this case MDM is of best use.

  • Single System Landscape on Different Platforms

    Hi All,
Is it possible to install one single system landscape on different platforms??
For instance, can I install Quality and Development systems on WIndows with Oracle Database and Production system on AIX with DB2 Database? All these systems belong to a single system landscape.
Is it possible? If it is possible, has someone done it and can i find the docs for that in service market place?
    Thanks,
    Vadivelan.N

    Hi Nick,
We are planning to go with the two server landscape .
    Our current scenario is ,
    1. Solution manager on windows & Oracle.
    2. DEV & QA on windos and oracle or AIX / DB2. and
    3. Production on AIX & DB2.
We wanted to know what will be the technical difficulties which we might face in future if we proceed if DEV & QA is in one platform and PRD in another platform,
    Eg,
Some issues might occur in DEV & QA but not in PROD.
I might not be able to replicate some DB related issues or kernel issue..
    Issues/impacts like these.

  • R/3 & BIW Single system landscape

    Hi Guys,
Right now we are in SAP 5.0 which has BIW 3.5 components. We are planning to implementing BIW,
    my question is,
Can we use same development & quality system used for R/3 implementation for BIW implementation also without setting seperate landscape and keeping production server seperate from R/3.
If yes please provide related notes from SAP.
Points will be assigned even for any relevant answer.
    Thanks,
    Sujai

    Hai,
i think it is possible if you are trying with BI 7.0 (needs WAS 7.00). But with BIW 3.5 it's not possible i think.. It should be a separate landscape..

  • How to create 4 system landscape in CMS

    hi all,
before i will explain my situation, currently i have the server DEV - QAS - (PRD1 and PRD2), understand that one track only allow three system landscape in CMS, is there any solution for me to make cms transport my request to 4 system landscape? thanks.
    best regards
    Hariyono

    Hi,
U can have 4 systems in CMS landscape. Thats not a problem. Even u can try for complex also.
    Coming to
    DEV - QAS - (PRD1 and PRD2),
What exciatly u want. Can u explain us,
Do u want the movement of request in the path like DEV--->QAS--->PRD1
                                                                                    |
                                                                                    |---->PRD2
In such condition, create a buffer after QAS, where in all transport requests will be moved in to Buffer from QAS, from there u can make them to move into PRD1 and PRD2.
Let us know if u have any issues,
    Regards,
    Ravi

  • Configure STMS & transports as a single system

    Hello,
I configured STMS as a single DEV system, without QA and PRD. I have a requirement to import the transports into the DEV system, after copying cofiles and datafiles from another dev system.
Is it possible to move another system transports into DEV System, configuring it as a single system landscape. If it is possible, kindly provide the steps.
    Thanks,
    Mohi

    Hi
What you meant by "transport do not move" ?
Check here for Configuring Single Systems - Software Logistics - SAP Library
    Also as per Matt's  update, the same transport request also can be moved from command prompt  or shell (on any OS);
    log into sidadm
    from Command prompt,
    1) add request into buffer (this step may not be required if added earlier - as per Matt's update)
    tp addtobuffer <transport number> <SID>  pf=/usr/sap/trans/bin/<transport profile, i.e. TP_DOMAIN_<SINGLE SYSTEM SID>.PFL
    2) then use below tp command to import the specific requests;
    tp import <transport number> <SID> CLIENT=<client number> pf=/usr/sap/trans/bin/<transport profile, i.e. TP_DOMAIN_<SINGLE SYSTEM SID>.PFL

  • ChaRM in two system landscape

    Hello Everyone,
I want to implement ChaRM for BIW systems which is a two system landscape: BIWDEV and BIWLIVE . Is it posible to implement ChaRm in a two system landscape /we need three system landscape only for it.I started the ChaRM configuration work but faced certain issues over which i was told tat Charm needs three systems for implementation. Kindly plz suggest and confirm.
    Regards,
    Somya

    Hey Somya,
2 system landscape will also work with CHARM.
CHARM can also be configured in single system landscape.
But the bottomline is you require in all 3 clients to realize charm.
These three clients can belong to same or diffrent systems altogether.
For you i would say, u will require 2 clients in BIWDEV system ( Say BIWDEV:100 as development cleint and BIWDEV:200 as Test client ).
Now you have BIWLIVE system which is our production system, so you require 1 client BIWLIVE system..
So your 3 clients are ready and Change Request management can be realized..
Please Reward with points if this postv was usefull..

  • How can I import a change request to a system which is not in the domain

how can I import a change request into a system which is not part of the transport domain?

    Hi,
You can transport any requests to any systems even though they are not in the transport domain.
    1) Move the corresponding data & cofiles( in /usr/sap/trans/data & /usr/sap/trans/cofiles directories) to the same location in the target system.
2)Add the request to the queue from  STMS ->Import Queue ->Extras ->Other Requests - >Add.
3)The execute the transport as usual.

    Sam

  • No system in the system landscape exports transport requests

    Hi gurus,
We are trying to implement the Change Request Management scenario in
    Solution Manager 4.0 SP12 in a POC.
The TMS are created with Solution Manager as Controller and with the settings are correct.
We have created a Maintenance Project with the following landscape :
system1 - Client 100 as Development System - Type of Rol "Source System"
system2 - Client 200 as Quality System - Type of Rol "Target System"
system2 - Client 100 as Production System - Type of Rol "Production System"
In the Change Request tab, when we check "Activate Change Request Management" checkbox, the following error is shown:
"System system2-100 is to be changed in a Solution Manager project, but no
system in the system landscape exports transport requests which are
    imported into this system."
    What is happening? Any idea??
    Thanks

The reason may be, that your "POC" is not valid due to the fact, that you use "clients" and not "systems" to transport
What you can try to verify that is - take out the QA client/system out of the transport route and try then to activate just with DEV --> PRD.
We wanted to setup something similar in the past and TMS failed to get configured properly - due to exact that reason.

  • ChaRM transport route, one development, 2 QA, 2 PRD system landscape

    Hello,
We have a customer who has an ERP system with a transport route which is the following:
One single Development system which feeds, 2 QA systems and then 2 PRD systems.
We are to implement ChaRM and we want to customize the tickets so that every time you execute the import action of a transport request into QA (and later into PRD) both systems QA1 and QA2 are updated and later on with PR1 and PR2.
We would like to know how to support this scenario in Solution Manager using ChaRM.  How do we set up the logical component at SAP, how we define the transport route and layers, and how we define the actions in the SDHF ticket.
    I appreciate your help.
    Regards
    Esteban

    Hello,
We set up a testing environment for change request management. In a solution manager we created five clients.  One single development which feeds two quality systems, and final two production system.  As it was said in the thread we used transport groups in the transport route.  The development system feeds this transport group which feed to import queus in quality systems.  We tested this transport route and transports worked well and arrives into both production 1 and production 2 systems.
Then created a logical component for that landscape, with five sytems.  Then we created a maintenance project using that logical component.  We created a maintenance cycle and then a task list was created which shows two delivery system, and the two productive  systems.  All the groups have the right actions.
However when we created a SDHF correction the system creates the task list only for 3 systems, not for the five of them.
we see that only action groups are created for development, quality 1, and production 1.  No entries for quality 2 and production 2
We try to run the action which is in the general part of the task list to execute the import in multiple systems, it cames out with the correct selection of importing in quality 2 system because it is the transport group.  However an error is raised saying that the actions for  quality 2 are not there in the task list which is true.  Finally, as short term solution, we were able to import into quality 2 and later on pr1 but done manually in the stms transactions which is not what we want to do.

  • Change Request Flow In a Three System Landscape --- PLZ DO REPLY

    Hi Experts,
    I am new to SAP and have this doubt;
Suppose we have a three system landscape with DEV, QTY and PRD systems in it.
Say we create a new change request in DEV system. So to transport it to QTY we will release that request from DEV using T code se01 .
Now the request will come in QTY systems queue and we will login to the appropriate QTY client and import this request into the QTY system.
<b>No my basic doubt is, after the testing in QTY how do we move this request to PRD system ?</b>
Do we again release this request from QTY system using se01 or we need to go at the OS level in the QTY system and manually add this change request in the PRD system buffer ? ( Please send if any reference link is there)
I will really appreciate any info in this regard.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Mandeep

    Hai Mandeep,
        First Thing,
-->If you are maintaining a common transport directory, the released change
request will be exported in that common transport directory..
--->Now you just enter in to the server(which is Transport Domain
            Controller).
--->In that go to Import Overview, now your QA server has one import req.
you just click the req. and import that req..
    >Now if you want to import the same req int o PRD.,Enter in to PRD
server.Go to tcode STMS_IMPORT, In the top go to
Extras>Other req.>add..click this and add that particular
req.that you want to import in to PRD server..
--->select that req and import that req...

  • Transporting 3 system landscape

    Hi,
We have a 3 system landscape configured. Transports created in DEv are moved to QA and then to PRD. Now a transport has been created in QA.  When we release them, datafiles and cofiles are not created.
Please assist me in this issue. How do i get data and cofiles at OS level. I cannot change my transport route
Is there any tp cpmmands that will create data and cofiles at OS level.

In you QA box Change the settings in SCC4 in
"Changes and Tranport for -Client-Specific object."
If changes without automatic recording are allowed in a particular client, you can edit these on a maintenance screen without a request prompt window.
If you have activated automatic recording for a client, whenever you save changed client-specific Customizing settings a Transport Organizer query window appears. Here you can choose Own requests to generate a list of Customizing requests that contain your tasks or, alternatively, Create request to create a new request for the client in question

  • Problem during import of 121 transport requests to productive system

    Hello
We have problem during import of transport requests to productive system. Import of 121 transport requests stopped very soon in phase "N" (in TRBAT I have only one entry and in  TRJOB  as well).
In sm50 there is an BGD running under user DDIC in client 000 now for 14453 seconds (program SAPLSDB2). This should be import.
In SM37 I can see it as  job "RDDGEN0L" with  repport"RDDGENBB". Based on some literature it should perform "Converting all structure changes generated by the import and recorded in table TBATG, other than the structure changes to matchcode objects." Very interesting  that TBATG has only four entries related to 2 indexes in table "DFKKOPK" , one in table "DFKKREP06" and one" ENQU" for EFKKEXC". (only this last one has not status error)
For fist two indexes I know they are not present  as objects "LIMU""INDX" in any transport request beeing imported.
Also on productive system there is no"VOL" and "ZOL"indexes for table "DFKKOPK"(instead they are created on test system ie. not transported from development to test system)
Last command for that process is "CREATE INDEX "DFKKOPK~HKO" ON "DFKKOPK" ("MANDT", "HKONT", "OPBEL") PCTFREE 10 INITRANS 002 TABLESPACE PSA
    PTR3 STORAGE (INITIAL 0000000016 K NEXT 0000000016 K MINEXTENTS 0000000001 MAXEXTENTS UNLIMITED PCTINCREAS"
There is enaught space on disk and in tablespaces (it is an oracle/HPux server).
Does anyone knows workaroun to solve production

are you importing these transport requests simultaneously into production?
I would suggest you try doing in smaller groups of 5 or 10 and then see whether you are able to import the requests

  • Is it possible to do portal content transports through System landscape?

    Hello,
In order to transport content from portal A to portal B I am currently using transport packages: export the content from portal A, download it to the local PC and import it to portal B. The process is working OK but I still have a question:
SAP are transferring all the control on their systems to the System landscape, for example Java developments. My question is if it is also possible to make these transports through the system landscape so no local PCs are involved in the process?

    Hi Roy,
You are right in the point that development projects can be transported, using the NWDI, centrally managed through the system landscape.
Nevertheless, the PCD transports (EPA) have to be touched manually anyhow. Theoretically, you can set up an SDA and put an EPA into it, see http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/a3/782240da03e569e10000000a155106/frameset.htm for details.
But this only really makes sense if you want to transport your own application together with the portal configuration (iViews representing your application...).
So in the end, PCD transports are designated to be transported as you are used to - manually via the export / import function of the portal.
    Hope it helps
    Detlev
