Unable to Duplicate Events in Adobe Connect
Every time I try to duplicate an event I get:
Request Not Processed
The system was unable to process your request.
This happened last month. I would hate to have to enter everything again as this function has worked the last 6 months.
This could be related to some permission issue with the associated content of the event.
Please check whether the content associated with the event is shared or private.
For duplicating a shared event (which has a private content associated), a user can duplicate such an event only when user has permission over the associated private content.

SusanI would use the Q&A pod any time you are dealing with a group that is larger than what you can handle dealing with real time questions in the chat pod. For some this may be 3, others may be 20, but there is no defined number where you should use one vs. the other. Just identify which is better for you in a given situation and use that. For smaller interactive sessions, I use the Chat pod. For sessions where I am going to lecture and then deal with questions, I use the Q&A pod. It isn't necessarily about number of attendees for me.
As to the graphics size in your PPT deck. Just use graphics that fit on the slide. Inserting an image that is 2-4 times the size of you slide and then scaling it down doesn't change the file size of the image, so you are left with a huge addition to your slide deck, all for a small image. So you can use the image optimization function in PPT (I don't recall what it is called), or use another photo editing tool to resize your images prior to inserting in PPT.

Unable to Publish Captive 4 into Adobe Connect with Windows 7
Hello,
I am using Adobe Captive 4 and have previously been able to publish my Adobe Captivate videos into Adobe Connect. However, I have now had my PC upgraded to Windows 7 and am now unable to do so. When I attempt to publish into Adobe Connect, I received the following message:
Adobe Connect requires Flash Player 9.0.0.0 or above.
I have Flash version 11 installed on my computer so I don't think this is the problem. However, I do notice that the publish option opens in a window that seems to be another program or wizard that is used to publish from Captivate into Adobe Connect; this may be where my problem resides. I had a co-worker on Windows XP try and everything still works fine. It is only with Windows 7 that this problem occurs.
Any help or direction with this issue would be great.

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling Captivate? Maybe it didn't hook into the right version of Flash... -
Application Issue - Adobe connect unable to handle "unreachable" responses
Hi,
We've discovered what seems to be a bug with the Adobe Connect application/flash player.
For some reason when you have a proxy in place adobe connect still attempts to establish a direct connection to the adobe servers (for example na7fms2.adobeconnect.com), if these packets get dropped video plays with no issue.
However in our case we have ACL's setup on our Cisco routing core (which do not allow this traffic), which in turn respond with "Destination Unreachable (Communication administratively filtered)".
Adobe Connect seems to be unable to handle these responses and goes into a loop continiously attempting a direct connection (around every 10-12 seconds), therefore causing streaming video's to restart every 10-12 seconds.
Below is a screenshot of the packet capture of the accurance.
Basically we managed to create two of the following scenarios in our network.

Now this "Destination Unreachable" response is completely legal in terms of RFC http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc792.txt
It would be great if this issue could be raised as a bug and fixed in future versions.

Only solution that I could see was opening HTTPS at firewall for only Adobe Connect servers. Wasn't able to locate anything that published the network ranges for the Adobe Connect servers however. Wasn't really a solution that I was happy with anyway.
Only need to do this to allow 1 employee to access a recorded Adobe Connect meeting.

Unable to download Adobe Connect add-in
I am trying to downlaod adobe connect add in, my computer will not allow it. It is saying unable to write to hard disk?

Please try this.
Go to this website, first changing "myconnectserver.com" with the address of your own Adobe Connect server:
myconnectserver.com/common/help/en/support/addindownload.htm
Next, click on the "Download the Windows version" or "Download the Macintosh version" to download the actual Add-in installation file to your computer. If you get the error message at this point, this is because you likely do not have the necessary permissions to save the file to your computer. Try saving to another location, like your desktop, and see if that works.

Using Adobe Connect to Live Stream an Event
Hi everyone,
I was hoping to get some suggestions about how we could best use Adobe Connect to live stream an upcoming event. Every year we host an event with both a live and an online audience. Traditionally we've asked our presenters to speak into a microphone that is connected to a PA system in the room and then a separate microphone connected to a laptop pics up the audio coming out of the PA system and transmits it through Connect. I suspect that there must be a better way to do this (perhaps using a mixing board?), but I'm not sure how that would work. Does anyone have any ideas/suggestions?
Similarly, does anyone have any thoughts on adding a live video feed? Ideally I'd like to broadcast a video feed at a resolution around 480, but I'm not sure if that's realistic. Any insights people may have would be greatly appreciated.When doing mixed events (live and online) with Connect, I've used an audio out from a mixing board, or if you can off the PA system. This ensures a direct like from the mic being used and eliminates the chance for the PA's audio to be picked up by the mic and creating an echo or disruptive background noise.
As to the live video feed, that should be easy enough. So long as you can connect your camera (webcam or otherwise) to the computer, there should be a method to get the live stream in Connect. The feed needs to be seen as a webcam by your computer's OS, but this can be worked around with an application called DVdriver ($20), if needed. It is also free to try, so you can test at no additional cost. Connect supports up to 480P. -

In order to use a meeting as a template you have to move that particular meeting into shared Template folder and then while creating any new meeting you will get an option to use that meeting as a Template for your New meeting. WebDAV not connecting to Adobe Connect Event pages for Contribute 4.
I'm having no luck in connecting to the Adobe Connect Event
pages using WebDAV in Contribute 4. This worked just fine in
Contribute 3, but for version 4, I just get an error stating,
"Contribute cannot connect to the server. Please check your

I did some more tests. This time, I removed some SSIDs (although the documentation says that Cisco Aironet AP’s support up to 16 SSIDS), but the problem persisted. The “problematic” android devices can only connect to the eduroam wireless network if, and only if, ALL the VLAN’s defined in the Access Point are encrypted. More: once connected, if I change the AP configuration and disable the encryption in a VLAN, other than the one where the device is connected, it simply get instantaneously disconnected – as soon as I press the Enter in the CLI or as soon as I click ‘Apply’ if configuring via HTTP.
In the next table are some devices where this behavior were observed.

When she types her name and presses enter, she is directed to a webpage stating she needs Adobe Flash Player 11.2 or greater. Adobe Flash Player 17 is installed on the computer. I have already installed Adobe Connect 9 Plugin for windows. Windows 7 in her operating system. What can I do to resolve her problem?
Have they tried using a different web browser?

Unable to overwrite course published on Adobe Connect
Just in the past week, I've attempted to overwrite a couple of courses published in Captivate7 to Adobe Connect. I usally get a communication error, then have to begin the publishing process over. Then Captivate displays that the course has published successfully, but when I play the course from the Adobe Connect link, it plays the old content and not the new content.
The work around is to publish the course under a new title, but this gets to be a pain due to links to the course being already published. Have others been having this issue. Overwriting courses is something I do on a regular basis, and this problem has only become an issue recently.Please try to delete the Adobe Connect Server configuration and add it again. Then try to publish your content again to Connect

Sync between MacBookPro and iPhone 3G does not sync properly. Calendars duplicate events but worse is that only contacts from Address book from letter T onwards sync. Any contacts on iPhone which are not on Mac are lost during sync.
Solutions?No, I never really found an easy solution. I believe it is an issue with some corruption in the iTunes database on the specific device. In my case, both my iPad and iPhone now show duplicate stream songs if viewed through iTunes on my Mac, but they show different songs. A couple years ago I had a similar issue on my iPhone, and Apple support suggested I back up the phone, completely reset it, and then restore it from the backup. It did work, so I imagine it would probably work for my current issues with the iPhone and iPad. But resetting and restoring an iPad or iPhone always makes me a little nervous that something will get lost. When I did reset/restore the iPhone, I do have to say, the restore process was 100% perfect and I did not lose any data at all even though Apple support said I might. If you try to go that route, I would suggest backing the device up both to a computer through iTunes, and to the iCloud so that you have a double backup.
None of this really resolves the issue with how the iTunes databases are becoming corrupted on the apple devices though, so it is very likely to happen again until they fix it. I have been unable to determine if there were any specific actions or conditions which caused the corruption to happen in the first place.
Might be worth another call to Apple support, or dropping in the local Apple store if you have one near by. -
Adobe Connect does not show tool pointer/cursor when sharing Photoshop...
I am an online instructor and one of the courses I teach is a Photoshop course. Each week I host a Live Lecture session where we use Adobe Connect to demonstrate techniques and tools in Photoshop CS6.
I am receiving several complaints from students because Adobe Connect does not correctly show my cursor/pointer when it changes for each tool in Photoshop. All the students see is an arrow with a small icon of a face/monitor.
This is confusing to the students, because I am trying to demonstrate how to use a tool and they are unable to see the actual tool. For example, when I select the brush tool - they should be able to see the brush circle as the cursor. I then demonstrate how to resize the brush - but they cannot see it. Another example is any of the healing/cloning tools. If I select the healing brush tool, they cannot see the circle (brush). I then demonstrate how to record a healing point by selecting the Option (alt) key - but again the students cannot see the pointer change to the crosshairs to record the healing point - as all they see is the arrow with icon at all times.
Students are complaining that they are not able to comprehend what I am demonstrating because they are not able to get the full affect of the demonstration without seeing it how it should be. Prior to switching to Adobe Connect, we used WebEx - which showed the students everything correctly as I was demonstrating it. I was amazed to learn that Adobe Connect does not show everything - especially since I am using another Adobe program within Adobe Connect - you would think they would be fully compatible and able to show everything.

Adobe Connecting Recordings, audio out of sync or missing
Over 30% of our recordings have issues. Either the audio/video/power points are out of sync and/or the audio will be missing and the video is frozen. With the upgrade to Ver8 our live events are 95% successful, we don't see audio/video issues during the live meetings only when we view the recordings. The other thing that is strange is sometimes we will view a recording the day after a meeting and it is fine. But then after some about of time we will get notified from our customers that the recording is messed up and when we go to view it sure enough it's messed up. It's as if something on the Adobe servers has corrupted the recordings.
I have opened a handful of support cases on the recording issue but have yet to get a resolution from Adobe. The basic process is that after weeks or days they give us a "fixed" recording. Some are truely fixed but others still have too many problems to use for our customers and so we are stuck with having to redo meetings to record them again.
We are using a 12 MB dedicated wired Internet connection. Only running Adobe Connect on the host computer, nothing else.
What can we do or Adobe do to increase the success of our Adobe Connect Recordings? What can be done to prevent the recordings from being corrrupted on the Adobe servers?It appears that our hosted server has not been upgraded yet. Here is the output when I request the version information.
