Unable to resync dataguard

Hi everybody!
I have a problem. Some weeks ago I opened a post related to this issue. We have two dataguards with dataguard broker. One of them is resync (thanks to mseberg and this forum) and now I have problems with the other.
Once I have learned how to configure and start/stop dataguard broker, I have a more basic problem, which is to resync it. I follow a process, where I backup the primary with RMAN, I copy the rman files to the other server with the controlfile, at once, I recover with rman again.
The problem is that it is too big, 2 hours for backing it up more or less, and when I restore it, no archivelog list appears being syncronized.
I have followed the same process than the other one and I can't resync it. I think there is something at my params or something new at 11g version...

  • HT204120 i deleted the photos from the location on my pc after i got them on my iphone so i am unable to deselect and remove them as per you helped me ?? what can i do further

i was somewhat helped. but still i am getting problem to delete my photos that i synced last night via itunes on my pc. problem is i deleted the photos from the location on pc after getting them on my device, so i am unable to resync them, deselect and remove them as per i was helped by this communities i am new to use apple products so please help me as it has taken lot of memory in my device/

you say:- You need to keep the photos on the computer, since the ones that are synced to the iPhone are of reduced resolution and cannot be moved anywhere else. You can always remove the other folder if you do not want it.
BUT I DONT HAVE THE PHOTOS ON MY DEVICE(MY PC) I DELETED THEM.
further i tried this:-If you do not have another folder of photos that you can sync, then create an empty folder on the computer and sync that folder. That will delete the photos from the iPhone, then you can go back to iTunes, remove the checkmark by the empty folder and sync again, removing that folder from the iPhone.
Trying this it just removed the checkmark nothing else it did
i think i have no other option rather than to keep those synced photos on my device>

  • SSL / TLS problem connet to iTunes?

every time it opens in itunes says WE COULD NOT COMPLETE YOUR ITUNES STORE REQUEST A SECURE NETWORK CONNECTION COULD NOT BE ESTABLISHED. MAKE SURE SSL 3.0 OR TLS 1.0 IS ENABLED IN THE INTERNET THEN TRY AGAIN
I Use Windows VIsta, and DDL3 and TLS 1.0 are activaded...
    Bug in Vista?
    Anyone know how to solve?
I would be very greatful i cant wait to use have my music and pictures on my iphone
    Johan

I have the exact same issue as Johanlondon. However I use Windows XP. My iPhone synced orginally and I had no issues. And then b/c of an issue with my iPhone (not being able to type text messages) I tried to restore my iphone. Upon doing so i was unable to resync. I got the message, "WE COULD NOT COMPLETE YOUR ITUNES STORE REQUEST A SECURE NETWORK CONNECTION COULD NOT BE ESTABLISHED. MAKE SURE SSL 3.0 OR TLS 1.0 IS ENABLED IN THE INTERNET THEN TRY AGAIN". I made sure that SSL 3.0 and TLS 1.0 were activaded in internet explorer. I even tried my wifes iPhone and it still syncs. I've reinstalled everything (Internet explorer/iTunes). I even uninstalled IE and loaded Safari 3.0 for windows. Still nothing works. So thought it must be the phone. I returned my iPhone to the Apple store (to be fixed) and when I brought my loaner phone home it would not sync either. What the he11 is going on?

  • Sync-around

    Hello,
I had to reconfig my computer yesterday and I am now unable to sync my iPod to my newly downloaded iTunes even though it is on the same computer. I was unable to backup my info. before the reconfig. I don't understand how you can sync your iPod to multiple computers yet I am unable to resync to my newly reconfigured computer. Help! I've got over 2000 songs on my iPod and nowhere to sync! :o(
Right now I only had my iPod syncing to my home computer. Would it be possible to download iTunes at work, sync my iPod and then go back to my home computer, clear the iPod as it suggests, go back to work and sync everything back to my iPod and then sync again at home? blah blah blah. I just want my music back on my home computer???
Any info would be great appreciated.
PS. I thought the iPod was its own little hard drive. Why is it so difficult to start a fresh sync to the same users library?

i'm not sure from your post whether or not you actually saved the music that was on your computer when you "reconfigured" it. I presume by reconfigure you mean you reinstalled Windows. If your iTunes is now blank try this:
1). Connect your iPod to your computer. If it is set to update automatically you'll get a message that it is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all the songs from your iPod.
2). When your iPod appears in the iTunes source list change the update setting to manual, that will let you use our iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Check the "manually manage music and videos" box in Summary then press the Apply button. Also when using most of the utilities listed below your iPod needs to be enabled for disc use, changing to manual update will do this by default: Managing content manually on iPod and iPhone
3). Once you are safely connected there are a few things you can do to restore your iTunes from the iPod. There are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, this is just a small selection of what's available, they are generally quite straightforward. You can read reviews and comparisons of some of them here:
Wired News - Rescue Your Stranded Tunes
    Comparison of iPod managers
TuneJack Windows Only (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
SharePod Windows Only (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
    iPod2PC Windows Only
    iDump Windows Only

iPod Music Liberator Mac & Windows
    Floola Mac & Windows
iGadget Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
iRepo Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
iPod Access Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
TouchCopy Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
If you have any iTunes Music Store purchases the transfer of purchased content only from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. You'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod or iPhone to a computer
There's also a manual method of copying songs from your iPod to a Mac or PC. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available on page 2 at this link: Copying Content from your iPod to your Computer - The Definitive Guide
4). Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync.
5). I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up, relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days, you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay: Back up your iTunes library by copying to an external hard drive

  • Internet gone down.

Hello, I'm writing via phone as of late last night my net suddenly went down. At the time I was playing an online game when I lost connection and haven't been able to reconnect since. I checked cables all fine, went through the troubleshooting process to no success. Tried resetting the home hub 3 etc nothing. Gave up and hoped it would fix its self this morning.
Sadly not, rang the area check number no faults in my area(Plymouth) I'm lost, hoping to get help online before having to deal with India.
Here's exactly what happened, in online game when broadband light goes off and flashes orange, does not reconnect. Attemp to troubleshoot and fail, from this point broadband light is off completely as well as lan1 light on modem also off. Checked cable by plugging directly into pc and lan1 light comes on, plug back into hub3 no lan light no broadband light.
Any ideas please ? There are 3 of us which use the internet so getting it back up asap is important to me.
Sorry for writing using phone. Thanks.

You probably had a burst of noise that dropped sync and made DLM decide to put you on interleaved.  Not at all sure why the modem was unable to resync without a reset: no machine/firmware is perfect.  If there was a modem malfunction, that might even have caused the problem seen by DLM.
Is the modem vertical and in a well ventilated place.  They can get quite warm and that could cause malfunction.
Assuming all goes well from now on, DLM should see your line as good and put you back on fastpath eventually.  It can take quite a long time though.  2 to 3 weeks is typical for getting full speed back again; I guess removing interleaving will be a similar timescale.
The advice never to touch the modem generally remains correct; though obvioulsy not in your case.  It's difficult to know when to make the exception though.  The modem LAN1 behaviour you saw is very odd; but does (incorrectly) point more to the HomeHub being the problem than the modem.

  • RMAN catalog resync in Dataguard environment

    Hello,
I have a quick question regarding the resync of the recovery Catalog in a 10g Dataguard environment...
I plan to perform the backups from the physical standby side. (Backups of DB and archives).
If I want to restore/recover a datafile on the primary side, do I automatically see the backup information once i am connected to the catalog DB, or do I have to perform a "resync catalog;" statement to resync the control file of the primary side with the actual backup information from the catalog?
    Thanks in advance,
    Boris...

But what is the effect, if I perform this statement on the primary side? Do I loose backup information if I perform a resync of the catalog because the backups were made from standby side? If I perform all backups from standby side the control file on the primary side does not know about the backups.
I am asking because I want to know if I have to adjust the backupscripts. They perform a resync of catalog per default.
    Thx, Boris..

SCN can be differ in standby and it can be behind to primary based on the backup you have restored. Of course by performing recovery you can synchronize standby with primary database. You can use incremental backups for standby using link http://www.oracle-ckpt.com/rman-incremental-backups-to-roll-forward-a-physical-standby-database-2/

  • Logical dataguard problem

    Hi all,
I have prepared a logical dataguard on two local systems. My oracle version is 9i and linux version is Entreprise Linux 3.0.
Today when i tried to execute spcreate.sql on the primary database it had thrown some errors in my secondary database.
Kindly look at the following output from my secondary database:-
    SQL> select applied_scn,newest_scn from dba_logstdby_progress;
    APPLIED_SCN NEWEST_SCN
    270084 272644
SQL> SELECT XIDUSN, XIDSLT, XIDSQN FROM DBA_LOGSTDBY_EVENTS
    2 WHERE EVENT_TIME = (SELECT MAX(EVENT_TIME) FROM DBA_LOGSTDBY_EVENTS);
    XIDUSN XIDSLT XIDSQN
    6 1 114
    SQL> EXECUTE DBMS_LOGSTDBY.SKIP_TRANSACTION(6,1,114);
    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.
    SQL> ALTER DATABASE START LOGICAL STANDBY APPLY;
    Database altered.
    SQL> select applied_scn,newest_scn from dba_logstdby_progress;
    APPLIED_SCN NEWEST_SCN
    270087 272644
    SQL> SELECT * FROM DBA_LOGSTDBY_EVENTS;
    EVENT_TIM CURRENT_SCN COMMIT_SCN XIDUSN XIDSLT XIDSQN
    EVENT
    STATUS_CODE
    STATUS
grant select on STATS$V_$SQLXS to PERFSTAT
    942
ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
from the above errors i have found out that a particular transaction is unable to replicate in my standby database and i skipped the transaction. But still after skipping the transaction applied_scn in the dba_logstdby_progress is moving only by 3 each time I skip a transaction . So it won'' t be possible for me to skip each and every transaction.
Kindly let me another way of skipping the rest of transactions which are causing halt in the replication.
Also I am unable to find out how the script executed from the sys user can be replicated on logical database as sys comes in unsupported users in logical datagurad.
Is there any way I can execute a script on primary database which won't reflect on secondary database.
    thanks in advance.

    Hi Yoann,
Commands you provided for skipping perfstat schema worked on logical database .
Now i m executing spcreate.sql on secondary database it gives following errors after i have specified the perfstat password, default tablespace for perfstat as 'perfstat' and temporary tablespace for perfstat as 'temp' and datafile contained in perfstat tablespace is 150 MB in size.
spcreate worked fine on primary but is giving errors in the end in secondary.Any suggestions about this:-

  • Unable to see files in iTunes File Sharing

I'm using the latest version of iTunes, and have both an iPad and iPad2, both fully upto date with the latest version of IOS. Everything I now write about applies to both iPads.
Basically, I'm unable to see files that are sent to iTunes from the iPad.  The ipad is connected to the PC, I select the file I want to send from the appropriate app, and then "send to iTunes".  The file never appears under the app that sent if from the file sharing section of the device in iTunes.  Even forcing another sync doesn't help either.
Here's the strange thing, if I unplug the iPad, then reconnect it, go back to file sharing page in iTunes, and click on the appropriate app, the files show.  However, if I click onto another app in the file sharing list and back to the original one, the files have disappeared.
    By way of example:
I connect my iPad to iTunes, after it automatically syncs, I select the iPad, choose the apps menu and scroll down to the file sharing window.
On my iPad, I open Pages, select a document and send it to iTunes.
Back on my PC, the file doesn't show under the Pages app in the file sharing window.
I resync the iPad, still no change.
I disconnect the iPad, reconnect and let it automatically sync again.
I navigate back to the file  sharing section and click on the Pages app.  Low and behold, the file is now showing.
I click onto any other app that is listed in the file sharing section, then click back to the Pages app.  The file no longer shows.
It will remain like that until I unplug the ipad, and connect/sync again.
Exactly the same thing will happen regardless of which app I choose that supports file sending to iTunes.
Finally, just to confuse matters further, the reverse is also true.  Adding a file to the file sharing section doesn't appear in the list, and the iPad can't see it - until I unplug and reconnect again.  After that, same issues happen as already described.
    Any assistance would be appreciated.

This is a bug in the Windows version of iTunes which I reported to Apple nearly a year ago (back when iTunes 10 came out), but they refuse to fix.  I see the problem with my iPhone 3GS and iPad 2.
Basically file sharing stops working if you click on more than two or three apps in the file sharing list.  The work around is to disconnect the iOS device and reconnect it.  Then make sure to click only the app you want to transfer to/from.  If the document list goes blank, disconnect and reconnect again.
It's really annoying and I wish Apple would fix it.  Supposedly it was also broken for the Mac version of iTunes and was quickly fixed there, but not for Windows.
