Unable to return a defective part

I was sent a new USB cable for my iPod and was told to return the old defective part when I received the new replacement part. I checked over the packaging and the packing slip. There isn't a new label under the existing label or an address noted where to send the part to. Can someone provide any assistance? Tks.

    I tried to call the Apple technicall support for several times and gave up for the long holding time.
    I am asking here if anybody knows the procedure how to return the defective part and get a new one.
    Since it's only 2month old, all the cost should be covered by Apple, right?
    Oh, I am living in a small town, so there's no apple store nearby.

    As far as I know the only way to get a replacement part under warranty is to first contact apple either by telephone or in person at an apple authorized service/repair facility. I have had three situations over the last ten years or so that required replacement parts. Each time, I generated a call to apple and was given a case number. The replacement part was sent with instruction on how to return the defective unit. It's very simple, they provided the container, the pre-paid shipping label, everything. All I had to do was call the carrier and leave the box outside my door. You can even track the progress online. I think the key is to contact them first. They will not replace anything just by your diagnosis. The technician you will speak with will determine the cause and the remedial procedure. Look in your documentation for the telephone number.

  • Unable to Return Components of Production Order

    Hi,
    Created Production Order (PdO) with 9-10 components, the 8th component being Item HEX with planned quantity of 5 and actual issue of 200 at row number 8 of PdO. In meantime, someone had deleted some row of PdO. The user then tries to click "Report Completion" and "Return Components" and selects Item HEX. The row number for Item HEX is now strangely Row 9 and the user is unable to return the quantity of 200 for Item HEX.
    The "available batches" table of the Item HEX just does not show the quantity of 200 and the user is unavailable to "return components".
    Could someone help me what the problem could be?

    Hi Gordon,
    The item row deleted was some other item and not Item HEX. The Item HEX which now shows as row 9 DOES show the issued quantity as ~200 but the batches for this quantity are not visible and cannot be selected in the batch selection screen.
    Could the deletion of some OTHER item in the production order create this problem?
    Hi Sridharan- I do not understand your reply "wrongly posting"-could you please explain...this error is happening in the production order of SAP Business One.

  • Release is cancelled , unable to return material to vendor

    HI All,
    We have a BPA, against this BPA we have many releases.
    For example We have a release 100.
    For this release 100
    Total Quantity for an item - 35000
    We have received 15000 (received,accepted & deliver)
    Also received 20000( now we want to return this to vendor. (After receiving only we want to return it)
    But after receiving 15000 & 20000, the release 100 has be cancelled.
    We are unable to return the material now.
    Is there any way to return the material when the release is cancelled for a particular BPA>

    Cancel is irreversible action. There is no way to revert it back systematically. If the line is canceled, we cannot do any receipt transactions (receive / correct / return) on the shipment.
    So the next best option I can think of is
    Do a Miscellaneous Issue to reduce the onhand
    Post negative accounting journals if required.
    Communicate to the Payables indicating that they need not pay the items that are returned.

  • I was told that I could not return a defective iphone!

    I ordered an iphone from apple.com. The screen was not screwed all the way down, so i had to take it to an apple store(hour and a half of my day which is a big hassle because i work alot and go to school full time.) to get checked out and eventually replaced. I immediately put an anti-glare screen protector on it. About a week later i removed the screen protector because i didn't like the affect it had of making the blacks look grey. The only problem is that the screen protector wasn't causing the greyish blacks. The screen itself was! So i set up an appointment yesterday, and went to the store today. They agreed that the screen was defective. They didn't have any 4 gb iphones in stock however and told me i'd have to come back another day when they come in. That of course is more of my time. I told them i would return the phone and just buy an 8gb (which they had in stock). They told me i couldn't return the iphone. I only had it for 12 days and it never worked. He said it was "against policy," which is of course just a cop-out way of saying "because i said so." I find it hard to believe that Apple would disallow returns of defective products and i also question its legality. I would like to think that it is just this store (they almost made we swear never to buy an apple product once before when they damaged my laptop in for repair, refused to admit to it, and insinuated that I am a lier.
    Has anyone else had this much trouble with apple? Because i am becoming fed up.
    (oh and they better not try to pawn a refurb off on me. It never worked in the first place and i did not pay full price for a refurb iphone)

    Apple appears to be 'cracking down' on their returns more lately. When the iPhone was first released and for about 2 months afterwards, they were taking in returns no problem, replacing defective iPhones with brand new ones in the box, etc. Now they seem to be doing everything in their power to NOT return them or replace them. Sounds a lot like an insuance company. I guess that's what happens when you put a lot of defective product out there.
    If I were you Dan Pallas, I'd just go back to the store with my reciept and my iPhone and return the whole thing. How can they deny a return? They can't if it's in the 14 days. When they charge you the 10% restocking fee, pay it but let the manager know you're not buying anything else. Tell him or her that you were going to buy an 8GB phone at a higher cost, thus giving Apple more money but now no way. Remind him that good customer service is at places like Costco where you can return an item for 90 days and NO restocking fee.
    I know you want an iPhone, but isn't this policy ridiculous? Show them that you think it's ridiculous.
    I find it absurd that I can buy an iPod at Apple and have a 14 day return policy, replacement with a refurb and a 10% restocking fee. Yet, I can go to Costco and buy the same iPod and have a 90 day return policy, free techincal support, and NO restocking fee if I need to return it within those 90 days, as well as get a brand new non-refurbished iPod. AND that same iPod is $10 cheaper than at Apple. Guess who gets my business?

    You can use the following:
    - stock can be moved from 916 to normal bin by LT01 / LT10
    AND
    - control message VL019 in OVM1 and VL173 as per OSS note 521409
    AND
    - delete the delivery item by setting the delivery qty to 0
    AND
    - create new delivery item
    Recreating the item and do the picking again. I received this answer from OSS.

    While the Web part working fine and showing the correct result when accessing the

    Thanks for your post.
    Change the value for the 'AllowPersonalization' tag in the web.config from 'False' to 'True'.
    - Open the blog pages in SharePoint Designer 2010
    - Click on Edit Page and select Code View
    - On the Ribbon, click Edit > Advanced Mode
    - Search for AllowPersonalization
    - Change the value to from AllowPersonalization=”False” to AllowPersonalization=”True” and save the settings.
    - Refresh the site, blogs sites should open without any web part error.

    I have not had this problem before.  When trying to return book to library a note came up saying 'if this borrowed item was fulfilled with one or more other items, returning would also return all of these items.  I pushed return and message now says 'unable to return - Licence Server Communication Problem   E_BAD_LOAN_ID
    I have been able to transfer another book from library since this message

    I'm getting the same message. Would really appreciate a solution.

    My issue with the nook was with sites where you can download free books such as
    ManyBooks.net.  ADE acts differently when using these sites; for example, it
    opens ADE with the book in read view but when you go to library view the book
    disappears.  I actually solved the problem before the forum answered my
    question--when I download the book from the free sites I choose Save As to make
    sure the book goes to the ADE folder.  Then I choose LIBRARY and I get a drop
    down menu and choose "Add to Library" and I get the book from the ADE folder. 
    Then I have my NookColor attached to the computer and I drag the book into
    MyNookColor.
    I just got a book from the public library and ADE acts differently.  The program
    that my library uses is CONNECT Downloadable Catalog@Library Connection, Serving
    Patrons of Participating CT Libraries.  I had the book on hold so I was notified
    by email that it was available.  I went to my account in the CONNECT program and
    added the Adobe EPUB ebook to my cart, proceeded to checkout, and downloaded the
    book in acsm format.  ADE opens the book in Library view, I drag the book over
    to MyNookColor and I am done. 
    I was researching my problem on the internet and found my solution.  My point
    was that ADE acts differently with free book sites versus public library and
    buying directly from B&N.  I see you have a tablet and I have a nook color.  You
    can bring your nook tablet to B&N and get help.  Another suggestion is to
    download ADE again and make sure it gets registered properly (doing this from a
    laptop not the nook).  I have downloaded audible books and I have had no
    problems--you have to use the program OverDrive Media Console for audible
    books.  I also have put music on my nook which has to be MP3 format and movies
    have to be in MP4 format.  Good Luck.
