Unable to ssh to servers from Solaris u10 server

The majority of my systems were built with u5. We've recently added a few x86 VMs and a few zones running u10 and I'm having ssh issues with them. When I try to ssh to them, I'm unable to login using our keys and get presented with the password prompt. I've been looking at previous posts similar to this situation, but none seem fitting. I've tried creating a new dsa key as a test and below are the results.

  • Unable to send out mails from Solaris 10 Server

We are in the process of migrating all our Solaris 8 servers to Solaris 10 servers. I have installed core distribution of Solaris 10 with only ssh running and few additional packages such as SUNWntp etc. which do not come with Core. I do not want to run sendmail daemon, but be able to send out emails from this host. I tried adding smart host DS entry in /etc/mail/sendmail.cf - I tried both hand editing of this file and compiling a new one to hardcode smarthost entry -. But mailing works only when sendmail daemon is running otherwise, I am unable to sendout mails. Can you please share your knowledge to resolve this issue.
    Thanks,
    Karthik

I use /etc/mail/aliases file and I do not run sendmail on any of my servers.
I have an entry for root aliased to <my.email.address>,<my.coworker.email.address> so any system messages are sent to us at our corp email addresses. Our servers are setup to use corporate DNS which includes entries for corp. mail servers.

This method worked for Solaris8. I'm having somedifficulty making it work for Solaris10. We have no mailhost definition in DNS, so I'm not sure if that is why this does not work or is there something specific to Solaris10 that prevents me from using the method I describe earlier.
If I caused you extra work/confusion because of my earlier post, my apologies.

I guess the processes is not the issue, but maybe something to do with ssh config files.
As you rightly guessed 'fork failed' is  happening on the local system. Would appreciate any pointers.

  • Conflict Resolver Sync Error - Unable to retrieve conflict information from the sync server

So I have been using iTunes with my iPhone 3GS and now my iPhone 4 to sync with my Outlook for many years now  and it has been flawless.
I recently bought a new iPad and started syncing it as well.
Now as of late, after every 2 or 3 syncs, I get an error from iTunes displaying the Conflict Resolver and it says there are 42 sync conflicts.
When I try use the Review Now button it shows up and the issues are between my iPhone and Outlook and are only related to contacts.
As soon as I try to choose which record to resolve, the window immediately disappears without giving me a chance to finish and I get another dialog window with the error:
Unable to retrieve conflict information from the sync server.
Please try again the next time the conflict resolver window is presented.
When I try to sync again it seems to be fine.  But then after I sync my iPad and theny iPhone again it shows up and it still won't let me resolve the conflicts.
    I have tried the following:
    1) Rest Sync History on all devices
    2) I have had iTunes replace all the contacts on the iPad from iTunes
    3) I have changed the conflict resolver to only notify when 50% of the data will be changed
I have had no such luck.
If I add a contact to Outlook or to my iPhone and then sync it seems to be syncing the new addtions correctly.  However, I cannot get this issue with this 42 conflicts resolved for some reason.  This has been going on for a month now.

    Here is the solution.
Rationale: You want to be able to have the dates on your items (notes, contacts) on your iphone to be the same as on outlook.  This will eliminate any sync conflicts.  You will also notice that if you modify something on the iphone and sync, you will lose the modification you made.
    Steps:
    1) In outlook, export the data (contacts, notes) to a CSV file
    2) Delete you notes/contacts in outlook
    3) Sync your iphone and select replace information on this iPhone (in iTunes)
    4) Now your contacts and notes will be empty on both your iPhone and Outlook
    5) Now import your contacts and notes from the CSV files back into outlook.  What this does is put the current date and time on every individual item
    6) Sync your iPhone to iTunes normally
    7) everything will work correctly now with no sync issues and no conflicts.

  • Syncing my phone it says I have conflicts when then I get the message "Unable to retrieve conflict information from the sync server.  Please try again next treset Sync history and hasn't helped.

When syncing my phone it says I have contact conflicts which I try to resolve and then I get the message "Unable to retrieve conflict informaiton from the sync server.  Please try again next time the conflict resolver window is presented".  I have reset the Sync History but hasn't helped.  Suggestions?

  • Cannot access conflicts unable to retrieve contact information from the sync server.

ITunes error message Cannot access conflicts unable to retrieve contact information from the sync server.

I got this advice from Gator5000e on Apple Supposrt Communities:
I use Windows 7 so the path to find this file
might be different under a different OS.
Close iTunes. Search on the words "conflicts.synconflicts".
I renamed it  to conflictsold.synconflicts the .synconflicts is the extension so you can't
    rename that.
Then restarted Windows. As a test I made changes to a note in NOTES on each device. Then connected them one at a time to my computer which has iTunes 10 and Runs Windows 7, it worked !

    Hello!
    The problem is found.
We tried to startup managed server by running startManagedServer.sh script, but this script expecting to get parameters.
The NodeManager unable to send parameters to script that appears in nodemanager.properties file (StartScriptName).
So, I created a new script startPIA.sh, that calls to startManagedServer.sh and sends it 2 parameters:
    ./startManagedWebLogic.sh $SERVER_NAME $ADMIN_URL
Now, we can start and stop managed servers from admin console, BUT we still have an error in NodeManager:

  • Internet access from Solaris 10 server

    HI
we have Sparc T-4 servers running solaris 10. i need one of the servers to be able to reach to Internet. However i am not able to even ping 8.8.8.8 .
i am able to browse internet using firefox after i changed the proxy settings in the browser.
can some one help in steps to configure internet access.  i am installing Ops Center and it needs connectivity to reach to My Oracle Support over Ineter Net.
    thanks
    -Muneer

If you are able to browse with Firefox on your server then Internet works.
If you have some troubles with Ops Center, you should certainly configure the HTTP_PROXY/HTTPS_PROXY variables and in this case I suggest to push your question in the Ops Center community : Oracle Enterprise Manager Ops Center (MOSC)

  • I am unable to open some emails from an exchange server.

Since I updated to iOS7 I have been unable to download most emails from a work exchange server. In most cases it appears to be downloading the message yet nothig appears after a lenghty wait.

A reset of the device is a good first step:
Hold the home button + the lock button for about 10-12 seconds until the Apple logo appears.  You will not lose any data or current settings.
If you have already done this and it didn't resolve the issue, try remove the email accound and then re-add it.

  • How to view all user_source on others servers from one admin server?

    Hello. Thank you for helping.
I am not able to view the source for other schemas locally or on remote servers, depending on the user logged, only for that schema, or something like that.
I use this command to view the source of a procedure:
    select line, text
    from user_source
    where type='PROCEDURE'
    and name='MY_PROC1'
    order by line;
    or this:
    ...from sys.user_source...
    or this:
    ...from sys.user_source@dblink1...
    Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Okay, the DDL method is not going to work. Let me go back to my original question:
I use this command to view the source of a procedure, but I still cannot select source from a remote server across a dblink. How do I specify the remote schema with the user_source?
    select line, text
    from user_source
    where type='PROCEDURE'
    and name='MY_PROC1'
    order by line;
    or this:
    ...from sys.user_source...
    or this:
    ...from sys.user_source@dblink1...
To APC: Regarding your comments about reading the docs, understanding privileges, decent source control and configuration management, etc., I would like to offer a few arguments which I think invalidates these (your entrenched) assumptions about proper Oracle development and the use of forums. • Unable to start managed servers from Admin Console "FAILED_NOT_RESTARTABLE"

I recently installed WebLogic 10.3.5, JRockit, and ECM 11.1.1.5. I'm to the point where I am trying to get Nodemanager configured so I can stop/start managed servers through the admin console. I have the following listed in Environment > Servers:
    AdminConsole - running
    IBR_server1 - FAILED_NOT_RESTARTABLE
    managedServer1 - FAILED_NOT_RESTARTABLE
    UCM_server1 - FAILED_NOT_RESTARTABLE
I followed the tutorial at http://blogs.oracle.com/jamesbayer/entry/weblogic_nodemanager_quick_sta to get to the point where the AdminServer starts when the server reboots, so I think Nodemanager is working there. If I view Machines > Monitoring, it says Nodemanager "Reachable." However, when I go to restart IBR_server1, managedServer1, or UCM_server1, I get the FAILED_NOT_RESTARTABLE status. I am using the weblogic server's IP for the machine name/host because our DNS is still screwed up. Would that have any affect on this?
I'm completely unsure what to do now. The Nodemanager log shows:
    INFO - <Loading domains file: E:\oracle\MIDDLE~1\WLSERV~1.3\common\nodemanager\nodemanager.domains>
    WARNING - <Domains file not found: E:\oracle\MIDDLE~1\WLSERV~1.3\common\nodemanager\nodemanager.domains>
    INFO - <Loading identity key store: FileName=E:/oracle/MIDDLE~1/WLSERV~1.3/server\lib\DemoIdentity.jks, Type=jks, PassPhraseUsed=true>
WARNING - <Node manager configuration properties file 'E:\oracle\MIDDLE~1\WLSERV~1.3\common\nodemanager\nodemanager.properties' not found. Using default settings.>
So I'm confused why it's saying the properties file and domains file are not found... I've checked and they exist at
    E:\oracle\middleware\wlserver_10.3\common\nodemanager\nodemanager.properties
    and
    E:\oracle\middleware\wlserver_10.3\common\nodemanager\nodemanager.domains
    The domains file contains
    base_domain=e\:\\oracle\\middleware\\user_projects\\domains\\base_domain
    Which is correct.
Any idea what I'm missing here? I can provide more detail if needed. Thank you.
EDIT: I should add that I can start the UCM and IBR managed servers using the start up scripts on the server, but that's not what I'm after. I want everything controlled through the AdminConsole and want to be sure that when the server reboots, all the managed servers come back up correctly.

I did a bit of digging, and it seems I have an issue with -Xnohup... I've verified this arugment exists in all of my managed servers properties files, yet it still bombs when I try to restart from the webLogic console. I should note that if I start fresh from the server, I can start all my manager servers using WLST nmStart().
    starting weblogic with Java version:

  • Warning: Solaris 10 x86 jumpstart (grub) from Solaris 8 server

    Hi all,
I'm just posting this here in case someone comes across the same problem I did.
When trying to do a custom jumpstart installation on x86 boxes from a Solaris 8 SPARC server, Grub was failing to do TFTP of the "multiboot" and "x86.miniroot" files. A snoop of the traffic would reveal some "TFTP Error: not defined" packets.
Turns out this is a known bug:
    http://sunsolve.sun.com/search/document.do?assetkey=1-1-6395719-1
The bug doesn't make any reference to jumpstart, and because of this it took me a while to find it.
I copied the in.tftpd binary from a Solaris 9 box, and it worked like a charm. (Would it be very difficult to issue a Solaris 8 patch?)
    kind regards,

    Here is the error output:

  • Migration from Solaris Sparc server to Solaris  x86

    Hi ,
    I would like to know.
Migration from SAP ECC6 , Oracle , Solaris Sparc to Ecc6, Oracle, Solaris x86 , Is this consider Heterogeneous or Homogeneous system copy?
    Thanks.
    Best Regards,
    ck chai

Solaris on SPARC is a BIgEndian platform, Solaris on X86 is LittleEndian - so it's heterogeneous --> you need to use R3load to performa a migration - and you need to have a certified migration consultant on-site to do that migration (http://service.sap.com/osdbmigration --> FAQ).

      Query callStoredProcedure = session.createSQLQuery("{PROCEDUR_NAME(?,?)}");
      callStoredProcedure.setInteger(0, prj);
      callStoredProcedure.setString(1, status);
      callStoredProcedure.executeUpdate();

    Hi Ajay,
when you upgrade to sec mon 2.0.1, the database is the same, but the formats are different.. you need to do somethings for converting these formats, which might take hours together, if ur database has too many events...
for information to convert the file format, refer to this URL:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/cscowork/ps3990/prod_release_note09186a0080386f72.html#wp1087204
see the section "Using the ConvertAndImport.pl Script after Upgrading from Security Monitor 1.2.3 to Security Monitor 2.0.1 "
do this and see.. let us know
