Updating product allocations

Hi,
Product allocation is maintained at component. When I create sales order at parent material, allocation check takes place at component level (MATP is used). e,g ,incoming quantity (allocation) is 20 units.
When I delete the corresponding ATP tree, the allocation quantities from the DP planning book in which allocations of the component are maintained is not getting updated.
But when I delete sales order, the allocation situation in DP planning book is getting updated i.e. incoming order quantity (which was 20 units earlier) becomes 0.
Query - so what is the element based on which the allocation quantity in DP planning book is getting updated when sales order is created ?
Is it not based on ATP tree structure?

So sales order is the element which controls the updation of the allocation table.
If ECC is already working and allocation functionality is to be started using APO. Are the following steps correct ?
1. Maintain allocations in APO
2. Transfer only sales orders (existing) from ECC to APO
3. Carry out availability check based on sales order priorities, in order to consume allocations. This is for initial consumption of allocations.
4. Tranfer receipt elements data (e.g. stock, SNP planned orders)
5. Re-ATP check for the sales orders in order to give the cofirmation dates based on receipt elements.
The scenario is MTS....
Insights in this area will be appreciated.

    I have set up product allocation, use a custome table S501.
    S501 contains characteristics fields:
    KONOB: Product allocation object
    VKORG: Sales Org.
    VTWEG: Distribution Channel
    ZZREGION: Region (custom field)
    MATNR: Material code
    When I create and save a sales order,
    VKORG and VTWEG are updated as "***" and "*" in table S504.
    ZZREGION and MATNR are updated correctly.
    Could you please kindly advise how sales org. and dist. chan. can be copied to table S504 correctly? Thanks.

    If the challan has 2 or more line items & one of the line item is fully reconciled thats why it is showing the status F in item detail table & P in header table of challan

  • Updating Rules in Product Allocation - mc25

    Hi Gurus,
    I am using 1] Product Allocation, 2] Open Product Allocation and 3] Incoming Quanties in mc25.
    For PA, I am using Source field as MCVBEP - ROMS1
    For OPA, I am using Source field as MCVBAP - KWMENG
    For IQ, I am using Source field as MCVBEP - BMENG
    BUt I am not getting the desire result. I need. My client's requirement is OPA + IQ = PA. So how do i make these happen. I have tried many combinations.
    Table for Dates and Dates - I am using EDATU , VDATU  and EDATU respectively.
    Is there any thing different I have to also maintained ?

    Did you set up updating for the custom infostructure?
    To verify updating, try t code MC30 (simulate update). Here you specify the sales order that you created with 3600 pieces and hit enter, In the next screen, check whether that infostructure is updating or not. or you can try Display update log for your user.  Both are under 'Update check; in the IMG. see below for the path.
    If it  is not, then you need to set up this custom infostructure with updating. The general area to do this is:
    SPRO/IMG/Logistics - General/Logistics Information System (LIS)/Logistics Data Warehouse/Updating.

    Activate the update
    T.code OMO1
    Create planning Hierarchy

    Maintain planning type

    Created the product allocation plan for required quantity  through MC94 IN spite of reserving stock as shown against the product allocation material specific and customer specific product allocation is not  worked and the regular Atp check allocated stock to some other customer when created  SO.

    Actually to say availability check is working but not product allocation.
    I checked the settings in Material master MRP 3 view for strategy group  and it is 40.
    Availability check is 02 assigned. OVZ9 settings are assigned correctly 02-A- SD Order.
    Not knowing what is preventing to reserve the stock against product allocation!
    Do you or any one know where to see the product allocation stock?

  • Complications in the Product Allocation

    Dear SAP Gurus,
    I am facing lot of problems in configuring the Product Allocation.
    Problem-01
    I started creating new Info Structure S561 copying the existing Info Structure S140 as the Info Structure is to be assigned in OV3Z (Specify hierarchy).
    The problem is that the Table MCVOBJECT is not appearing in the u201CCharacteristics for 0001 Incoming Orders Quantityu201D in the transaction code MC25. I tried to insert the Table name as MCVOBJECT and Field name as KONOB against the characteristics u201CProd Allocation obj.u201D but I got the error message as u201COnly source fields from MC Communication structures allowedu201D
    Only few Table names are available after pressing F4.
    Please help me how I can put the Table name MCVOBJECT and field name KONOB in the Characteristics for MC25.
    Problem-02
    In OVZ0  (Define Flow according to requirement category) I am not able to create new Requirement even in the change Mode. But I found some of them started with Z i.e. it has been created by somebody. I am in IDES system.
    Problem-03
    The same issue in OVZ8  (Process flow for each Schedule line Category) I am not able to create new Requirement even in the change Mode. But I found some of them started with Z i.e. it has been created by somebody.
    Please guide me how to create a new requirement and assign it.
    Problem-04
    When I am checking in OV8Z (Check setting in Product Allocationu201D, the following comments appear. If anybody guide me on this basis I will be grateful to him.

    I have used Transaction code MC8A for creating Planning type but every time I put some value and save but after that in change mode I am not finding those values.

  • GATP Product allocation status report and backorder processing

    Dear Experts,
    We are using product allocation as the first and only step in GATP check.
    The scenario is like this:
    Sales order total quantity = 200
    Planned allocation quantity=150
    Thus
    Confirmed sales order quantity=150
    Questions:
    1.Now how can see the confirmed/unconfirmed situation for all sales orders.
    Is there any standard report.
    I understand that this report need to show the planned allocation quantity,total sales order quantity and the confirmed sales order quantity may be bucket wise.Also this report can show the details of all sales orders in the bucket.
    The GATP planning book only shows confirmed sales orders in the "sales order" keyfigure until you have introduced another order series key figure for sales order(not related to GATP) which has sales order/scheduling agreement category group assigned to it.
    2.Can I do backorder processing of sales orders assuming that after the above report is run,I have changed the planned allocation quantity from 150 to 200 and I need that the sales order can be confirmed now by this program rather than by going into ECC and triggering the GATP check again.
    Note that the stock availability situation may remain the same.
    Request you to kindly suggest if this is possible in backorder processing.If yes,then what are the settings and the transactions to execute this.

    Thanks so much Michael for a prompt reply.
    Couple of points.
    1./sapapo/ac42-This report is helpful but this has 2 issues.
                                                 It has to be run at individual CVC level.Thus it is not a comprehensive report.
                                                 It does not provide sales order original quantity.It just provides the planned allocation quantity,confirmed sales order quantity and the remaining quantity.This is normally already available in interactive planning of GATP planning area.
    What we need is a report which must say what is the original sales order quantity and how much has been confirmed and how much is the bucket planned allocation quantity.
    2.Running ATP in product view or interactive backorder processing view may not help as they seem to be working with ATP group and not with check mode.Note that product allocation gets triggered when check mode comes into play.
    Do you know if we can make it work with check mode.
    3.The batch backorder processing is working when I am using the "update changes" option.I am still evaluating the results as I don't understand many settings here.It will be nice if you can elaborate on some of the settings used in this transaction please.

  • VMI order check against Product Allocation

    We are setting up VMI where we are to plan the supply to one of our customers.
    During our tests we have dicovered that the TLB orders are not checking against Product Allocation.
    An ATP check does takes place when creating the TLB order (we are not using Deployment!!) but check against Product Allocation does not take place!!!
    If we do an online ATP check from R/3 after
    Does anybody knows how to enable check against Product Allocation during TLB order creation ?

    Unfortunately there is not a tool to make diagrams in here or do we have..
    To depict ATP check against Product Allocations, we can have two big blocks representing R/3 and APO.
    Then in each block we can have smaller blocks to represent
    a sales order creation(in R3 block) and Product Allocations in Planning area (in SCM block).
    You can depict ATP call by making an arrow from sales order block to product allocation block. Then to add further details you
    can have a time series(bar graph) showing product allocations for time buckets( say months) getting offset by incoming orders in a separate diagram.
    to represent BOP, a block for SD ( in R3 block) and a block for BOP (in APO) and a link between them to trigger BOP process. A line from BOP back to R3 block connecting a smaller blocks "process event" and then connecting to "update".
    This update block should be linked to another smaller block in APO  named as "update time series". then this update time series can lead to "delete temporary quantity assignments" block( in APO).

  • Dispatch Capacity using Product Allocations

    Looking for a bit of guidance on an issue. Have a scenario where we get heavy demand on dispatching requirements. Strangely enough, SAP doesn't have any capacity planning around Logisitcs Execution from what I have seen - it assumes unconstrained capacity to dispatch stock. So I am looking to use Product Allocation based on a total volume (key figure) per site (Characteristic) basis.
    My issue is around the Planning Period indicator. I want to use the Allocation model on a daily basis - i.e. fill up the Dispatch 'bucket' daily and once filled, it will look to the next available planning period. I need to do this daily - not weekly or monthly. Period indicator 'T' (Daily) is available but the planning parameter doesn't seem to like this.
    Anyone manage to get this working on a daily basis? Other than that I may have to go down the custom path, which will be sub-optimal, as the standard functionality works sensationally at a weekly or monthly basis.

    As per usual, I solve the issue just after I log a question in the forum!
    It appears that within MC7F, that the Planning Period indicator is also controlled via table T445A, which is maintainable. I updated the table, checked the planning parameters associated with my Info Structure, which showed up as 'T', then assigned the entry to my transport. I recreated my Plan via MC93 (after deleting the old one), and the daily planning buckets have come through.

  • Leading zeros in the Product allocation characteristic combinations.

    Hi All,
    I am copying Characteristic combination from planning area to product allocation group, after i complete the transaction system is automatically preceding the zeroes to the product number.
    I have one the following activities before copying CVC of planning area to product allocation group.
    against all the Product allocation settings.
    2.Created the MPOS with product (characteristic length of Product is 18), Customer and Allocation object.
    3.Created planning area and planning book.
    4.Copied cvc combination from planning are to product allocation group and also copied planning area values in to Product allocation group.
    5.Tried to check in the ATP simulation mode, while I was doing system has given no characteristic combination found, when I checked Product is preceding zeros as per the filed MATNR length 40 and this MATNR is selected from the Product allocation field catalog, But when I add zeros to product system is performing Product allocations in simulation mode.
    6.Tried triggering gATP Product allocations by creating Order in ECC, here also it has given same error No characteristic combination exists.
    When I did initial R&D on this. I found that material number in the product allocation characteristic combination is leading by zeros for ex:- 000000000000000002200325.
    Could any one please suggest me what to do on this.

    Hi Muthyalappa ,
    If i have understood your question properly , then my guess is you should be facing this problem only for numeric material codes. Try out the following things
    1. Execute the same test condition for a non numeric material. I believe it will work perfectly .
    2. For numeric material codes it is not working because of the difference in MATNR length between ECC and APO. In ECC the maximum possible MATNR length is 18 char whereas it is 40 chars in APO. So as per std SAP functionality the numeric materials get concatenated with leading zeros when you try to transfer it (or carry out any kind of processing ) from ECC to APO.
    ex consider material 12345. In ECC it will be stored internally as 13 leading zero's followed by12345 . But in APO it will be stored as 35 leading zero's followed by 12345.  Your issue is the system does not recognize the CVC that has this material as characteristic. At the time of cvc creation / change make sure your material characteristic ( especially for numeric material codes) totally has 40 chars . Pack it with leading zeros and make the material length 40.
    Try this out and update me .

    Hi,
    This is regarding allocation check against stock transport order
    1. As per SAP literature, Receiving plant (WERKS_TO) is available as a characteristic for stock transport orders:

    But in the product allocation field catelog, the above field is not present. So how to carry out the allocation check at this level?
    2. What is the key figure to update incoming orders quantity. By default AEMENGE is available. Is the same key figure applicable for STO. If not, what is the key figure to update the incoming order quantity for STO. Where can it be added ?

    Hi RS
    1) Receiving Plant can be maintained as a customer with suitable Sales Area. Since customer is available as a characteristic in field catalogue, you can use the same. Alternately, you need to extend the structure (As Michael has advised). This is quite common requirement and your development colleagues will be able to help you.
    2) Key figure will remain AMENGE irrespective of whether it is Sales Order or STO.

  • Product Allocation S140 Info structure.

    Hello Experts,
    We have configured the setting related Availability check against Product Allocation.
    Everything is fine except for S140 Infostructure.  We are using Flexible Plan.  The Info structure is getting updated whenever we create an order and the qty is confirmed.  How do the other fields gets updated?( Product allocation qty & customer requirements are initial upload by the client.   Order qty is getting updated whenever order is created.   Other fields Def.division, Open product allocation qty and requirements not covered are not getting updated.  formulas have been activated.
    How and when the other fields will be updated?    Aniticipating your answers.

  • Availability check against product allocation

    Hi gurus,
    I'm trying to figure out how depict in a diagram the process of availability check against product allocation.
    The process includes the sales order creation in R/3, the availability check in APO (SCM 5.0) ,  returnig the delivery date.
    We are also planning a backorder process
    I think the diagram is very simple ... just 1 box for the sales order creation, one box for the availability check and 1 exit to the back order processing.
    Any help  will bee appreciated

  • Product allocation determination procedure error

    We use product allocation determination procedure in material master
    I made SIS(S603)
    when an order item is created and changed and deleted, Quantity of the incoming order is updated in Sales Information System(S603). key figure of S603 is sales organization/material code/sales group
    But sometimes error is occured
    when i check up quantity of the incoming order in s603, quantity is not correct
    (i usually use t-code MC94 or mcsi)
    in my opinionm when an order item or order is deleted, quantity of the incoming order is not updated is SIS, Quantity of the incoming order in s603 is more than confirmed quantity of order in the delivery date of the schedule line.

    Please check consumption period configurations whether s603 info structure are defined or not from the path of ( SD > basic functions > Availability Check and Transfer of Requirements > Availability Check > Availability Check Against Product Allocation
    > Define Consumption Periods). and
    in product allocation control configuration screen, flow according to requirement category flow for schedule line, check whether product allocation is active or not.
    and other needed configuration should be checked again to solve this problem.
    Finally, you can check your product allocation determination procedure from SD > basic functions > Availability Check and Transfer of Requirements > Availability Check > Availability Check Against Product Allocation > Check Settings In Product Allocation. by this way, you can figure basic problem out.
