Upgrade to EHP1 java (Portal) alone from NW 7.0 SP12

Hi
We are in the process of upgrading our portal NW 7.0 SP12 to EHP1 SP06.
Java FAQs says that we can use just JSPM to deploy as its just a java standalone.
Has anyone used JSPM to upgrade to EHP1 from NW7.0? instead of EHPi?
Thanks

U are giving me some confidence sunny.
I tried using JSPM but its not deducting the xml file and also I choose the single support pack (advance option) its only picking up the source version as 12 and the target version says not found?
Does that mean I have not downloaded all the components required in EPS/in directory? if so what all components I have to download?
Bcos in the market place if I choose NW 7.0 ---> Link to sp stack it shows me till SPS22.
And for EHP1NW 7.0 it starts from EHP1 ISS initial shipment stack to SPS07.
If I download both the above I will get two stack files?
Should I update till SP22 in NW 7.0 and then start applying EHP1?
Thanks

  • We need to reinstall the JAVA part alone in ABAP+JAVA

    Dear Sir/Madam,
We have an SAP ECC 6.0 system with ABAP+JAVA components. Now there are some issue with our Java comp. and I'm unable to start the JAVA engine. As we have done little configuration on JAVA side we are planning to reinstall the JAVA part alone.
1)Can we uninstall the the JAVA Component alone from the ABAP+JAVA Central instance?(Without affecting the ABAP Part)
2)Can we install a new JAVA addin in our existing ABAP+JAVA system?
3)If yes; is there any special steps appart from the master guide  "4.4.2 Installing the Java Add-In for an Existing ABAP System" ?

    Thank you for the update,
We have done a Homogeneous system copy from our DEV system to QA system(SAP ECC 6.0 ABAP+JAVA with Oracle 10g)
Our issue is we are unable to connect the VA it shows "Unable to lookup connection default".
We've noticed that the Instance ID in our config tool still shows the DEV Instance ID and the Instance.properties files shows the QA system instance ID.
    In our DEV it's given
    com.sap.engine.bootstrap.Bootstrap
    ./bootstrap
    ID0035522
    and QA it's
    ID0031354
In have changed the SID,HOST NAME and Instance ID in the config tool to the QA system param. as per the suggestions in the below link

  • Call a portal component from a Command IU Java Class

    Hello,
Please, how can I do to call a portal component from my Command IU Java Class?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Hassan

    Hi Hassan,
a portal component can be called directly through URL.
The general syntax to call the portal component (iView, page) is as follows:
    <http/https>://<server>:<port>/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/<pcd_path_of_iview_or_page>
Replace all ":" in the pcd path by "!3a". Also replace all "/" by "!2f" in the pcd path in the URL.
    Hope this helps.
    Best regards,
    Denis

  • Accessing custom Portal service from a java application

Can we use the INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY to get access to the portal service.
    Thank You
    D.K

    Now I tried the following:
I've added the prtapi.jar and the service's jar to the additional-lib folder and added the appropriate entries to library.txt and reference.txt.
Now I can obtain now the PortalRuntime, but this is not initialized.
Has anybody a solution for this problem? Help would be high appreciated!

  • Help needed on upgrading portal application from sp3 to weblogic portal 10

    Hi Guys
I have an application which is currently running on BEA Weblogic Portal 8.1 sp3. We need to upgrade our application from 8.1 sp3 to BEA Weblogic 10 version.
    (1) Is there any way for upgradation from 8.1 sp3 to portal 10 directly or do I need to upgrade it from sp3 to sp4 and then from sp4 to portal 10? Pls clarify?
    (2) How reliable are the BEAs automated scripts for retaining the personalization/customization of my application on sp3 to upgraded version i.e portal 10?
    (3) I believe, we do not need to do any coding/design changes/architectural changes into my application for this upgrade.
Any help on this will be highly appreciated
    Thanks
    Jameel

    1) I believe only sp4 and later to weblogic 10 is supported (http://www.bea.com/content/news_events/white_papers/BEA_WL_Portal10_ds.pdf)
so yes i think you need to upgrade from sp3 to a later version of the service pack
    2) You tell us :)
    3) Depends on your application and the features you have used. E.g. I believe Content management has changed between sp3 and what 10 supports.

  • BI Role upload from BI-JAVA/Portal creates wrong url in Iview property

    Hi Everyobody
here is a tricky one. Our BI DEV is a Systemcopy from the PRD.
When we try to upload Roles from the BI-JAVA/Portal it generates the Iviews Worksets correctly.
The only Problem is that the Iviews property "URL Template" is the one from the Production.
    On our DEV System:
I checked the bsp from icf with the correct url
I checked the HTTP URLLOC entry
    I checked the RSPOR_T_SETUP
I even checkd  the Functionmodule RSBB_URL_PREFIX_GET
    I checked the SAP_BW alias /WAS property
    All have the correct URL.
Does anyone know where else the wrong url could be located?
    Thanks for your help

No security modification is normally required. I can't be sure but it looks to me like the jar file containing the package javax.crypto.e has not been signed by Sun. If you are writing your own provider then you would do well to look at reply #7 of http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=5222038 .

  • Pointing portal server from classes12.jar to ojdbc14.jar JDBC driver

    Hi,
Some time ago we upgraded our portal landscape from Oracle 9.2.0.7 to Oracle 10.2.0.2. Using OSS Notes 867176 and 915079, we pointed our portal servers to use the newer and recommended ojdbc14.jar driver. This included using Config manager to  change the rdbms.driverLocation parameter to point to the new driver.
A few months later (last week), thinking that we had our bases covered, we removed the old ORACLE_HOME, /oracle/<SID>/920_32. Upon restarting the portal we got quite a shock- it would NOT come up! The first problem was the bootstrap.properties in the /usr/sap/<SID>/JC00/j2ee/cluster/bootstrap directory which had the same dbms.driverLocation parameter pointed to the old driver in the old ORACLE_HOME. After correcting this, we ran into further problems with neither the dispatcher or the servers (2 per system) coming up. Find this curious, we ran the following unix  commands and identified more *.properties files with the same rdbms.driverLocation parameter-
    cd /usr/sap/<SID>/JC00/j2ee
    find . -name '*.properties' -exec grep -H 920_32 {} \;
    ./deploying/rdb.properties -
                rdbms.driverLocation=/usr/sap/EPP/JC00/j2ee/classes12.jar
    ./cluster/server0/cfg/kernel/ConfigurationManager.properties -
                rdbms.driverLocation=/usr/sap/EPP/JC00/j2ee/classes12.jar
    ./cluster/server0/cfg/kernel/ConfigurationManager.properties -
                rdbms.driverLocation=/usr/sap/EPP/JC00/j2ee/classes12.jar
    ./cluster/dispatcher/cfg/kernel/ConfigurationManager.properties -
                rdbms.driverLocation=/usr/sap/EPP/JC00/j2ee/classes12.jar
    ./templateconfigurator.properties -
               $=/usr/sap/EPP/JC00/j2ee/classes12.jar
We then proceeded to manually edit each of the files to use the newer ojdbc14.jar driver. Surprisingly, it turns out that editing the ConfigurationManager properties files for the 2 servers and the dispatcher had no effect- upon recycling the portal the entire cfg/kernel directory gets wiped out and replaced.
So what's the problem here? I don't have an issue with directories being recreated- but why is the ojdbc14.jar driver setting not being picked up from the change made for each server and dispatcher in the Configuration Manager?   I have examined all the services listed in the Configuration Manager and the Visual Administrator and can find no more references to the old ORACLE_HOME.
Oh, incidently, curiously enough, for single portal systems, the JDBC driver is obtained from the /oracle/<SID>/102_64/jdbc/lib directory and not from the /usr/sap/<SID>/JC00/j2ee directory which is the case for portal servers involving more than 1 server.
    Hoping for help here ...
    Sincerely,
    Steven McElwee, Duke University

right click ur project and select properties. In Java Build Path add the ojdbc14.jar in the librariies tab.

  • Upgrade EBS 11.5.10.2 from HP-UX to Linux R12.1.3 including the database

    Hello All
I know there are other threads with the same question and i have been to almost all of them. Somehow i am still not able to understand it
So i am posting it here. Sorry about that
Upgrade EBS 11.5.10.2 from HP-UX to Linux R12.1.3 including the database from 10.2.0.3 HP-UX to Linux x86-64 11.2.0.3
First thing is we would like to keep our production system untouched even during the go live in case of any failures we can fallback to old HP-UX systems
    We have three servers
SERVER 1 :- DATABASE, concurrent manager and admin node
SERVER 2 :- FORMS, WEB, REPORT and DISCOVERER
SERVER 3 :- iSupplier Portal for external users with forms and web
    The new system would like
    SERVER 1 :- DATABASE NODE
SERVER 2:- CONCURRENT, ADMIN, FORMS, WEB, REPORT and DISCOVERER
SERVER 3:- iSupplier Portal for external users
I believe the first step should be creating a 10.2.0.3 database on Linux. Install 10.2.0.3 software on Linux.
Export from hp-ux using note 362205.1 and import it on Linux. This will create my Oracle Applications 11i database with data.
Once this is complete for the application tier we would like to move from multi node to single node. I was following the note 238276.1 but it is not very clear how do i copy
concurrent node from server 1 and server 2 with forms, web, report and discoverer to single Linux server ?
Also for the iSupplier server 3 how does the steps follow ?
Can someone please provide some steps in detail ?
Also please correct me if i am wrong on the database part.
    Thanks

HI facing issue while redirecting to portal application from SSO login page.please find below basic details
the application comprises of TAM / Apache / Weblogic, and all the request goes in the same order.
When the application is deployed as portlet, the jsp page some how hard codes the apache host name, that in turn blocks any form submit or Ajax action.
so on successful login the redirection is not happening to required portal page as it includes apache host name in the url consrtucted.
Please suggest me what are the configurations that I need to verify .
    Thanks in Advance

  • How to copy/move Portal database from one machine to another?

I am receiving a ORA-22973 error (size of object identifier exceeds maxmum size allowed) on the wwsec_enabler_config_info$ table when attempting to import my entire "portal30" schema from one database to another on different Windows NT Servers.
Background: I had Portal 3.0.9.8 installed, configured, and running with the following setup:
    Machine 1: Windows NT 4.0 SP 6, Oracle 9iAS 1.0.2.2, Oracle Portal 3.0.9.8
    Machine 2: Windows NT 4.0 SP 6, Oracle 8i Database 8.1.7.0.0
We no longer have use of Machine 2 and needed to move the database over to Machine 1.
    I performed the following steps:
    1. Installed Oracle 8i database 8.1.7.0.0 on Machine 1.
    2. Set up the tablespaces in the database on Machine 1 to match the same names and sizes of the tablespaces in the database on Machine 2.
    3. Used the Oracle "exp" command to export the entire database that resided on Machine 2.
    4. Copied the ".dmp" file to Machine 1.
    5. Used the Oracle "imp" command to import the entire database on Machine 1.
    6. The import completed successfully with warnings. But I had received the ORA-22973 error during the import process.
    7. After it completed I compared the list of tables and packages in the "portal30" schema between the two databases. The wwsec_enabler_config_info$ table is missing.
    8. I tried to export and import only the wwsec_enabler_config_info$ table between the two databases, but continue to receive the ORA-22973 error.
Without the table being created, access to the portal cannot be achieved.
    Here are my questions:
    1. Is there anyway to create the wwsec_enabler_config_info$ table without receiving the noted error?
    2. Is there any other workable way to get the portal database from Machine 2 to Machine 1?
I am aware of the portal import/export utilities but that would require me to run through the 2 hour install of Portal 3.0.9.8 on the database on Machine 1 and then individually export and import all the portal components (security, pages, applications, content library, etc). I merely wanted to transfer the entire database from one machine to another, so I felt the Oracle exp/imp utilities would be quicker and less work.

    Hi,
I've been hitting problems with Portal 3.0.9.8.1 against 8.1.7.2.1 on NT - i.e., Intermedia not working at all, and have been advised by support to move back to 8.1.7.1.1.
I don't want to lose any of my content in the Portal since the db upgrade and am wondering on what is the best way to do this.
The version of the Portal will be the same so I am hoping I can just use the Portal export and import utilities, as afterall, it is just data and the schema structures are the same between db versions. I'm also hoping that the Portal export doesn't use the standard Oracle EXP tool as it doesn't work anymore on 8.1.7.2.1 on NT!!

    John
