Upload Amounts in Profit Center per Period

Hi all,
I want to upload amounts in profit centers for different periods, same as in transaction 7KE1. I found 2 FMs when debugging this transaction, but I'm not sure about them.
1) PCA_PLANDATA_POST
2) PCA_ACTUALS_POST
I wanna know if those FMs can be used  or not? I think it should be the first one. Do you know differences between them?
Are there any FMs or BAPIs which can be used in my case?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Sudhakar Reddy,
Thank you for your answer.
I find that we should use PCA_PLANDATA_UPDATE instead of PCA_PLANDATA_POST. Actually, the former, which has an option for test-run, will call the latter.
I wanna know if there is any FMs to post Profit Center, which is same as K_COSTS_PLAN_INTERFACE_PERIOD (used to post Cost Center)? Because PCA_PLANDATA_UPDATE seems not to offer many options (like delta, overwrite existing values, ...)

  • Extend Profit center validity periods

    Hi All,
I have a requirement to extend  the Profit centers validity period. for example I have created the Profit center with validity date from 01.01.2010 to 31.12.9999. I have loaded the data with these dates, there is no issue in this. I have new requirement to change some data from 01.07.2010 to 31.12.9999 for the same above profit center. Is there any procedure to extend the validatity dates like that. Please let me know if there is any procedure available.
    Thanks,
    Satheesh

    Eyal,
I know of no other way to accomplish this than to re-execute the consolidation for the prior periods after the hierarchy has been changed.
I have used the restatement feature and like you have found it very limited.
The copy to another version would only work if you copied the existing data to the new version before re-executing the consolidation. The the version 100 can be re-consolidated for the previous periods and the existing reports do not have to be changed for a new version.
However, with the copy, it is important to set the cons group and cons unit hierarchies to be version dependent so the changes are only good for the version that is to be re-consolidated for previous periods. This allows you to report on the data before the change where the logic will read the old, unchanged version of the hierarchy.

  • Materials management small differences - DIF - Profit Center assignment.

    Hi,
We have created one G/L for posting the u201CMaterials management small differencesu201D at the time of generating MIRO document via transaction u201CDIFu201D in Tcode - OBYC.
For e.g. if the GR amount is 90 and IR (Invoice received from party) is of Rs. 91/- or vice-versa then for posting the difference of Rs. 1/- we have made the above assignment.
System is generating the line item for the u201CSmall Diff -Invoice Verificationu201D but posting automatically to a "Dummy Profit Center u201C in the absence of any other data.
Our point is that we want to change the profit center to the related Business area, which is there in the line item of u201CSmall Diff -Invoice Verificationu201D account.
We tried the FI substitution (Tcode u2013 GGB1/ OBBH) for the Profit Center derivation on the basis of Business Area but that is working with the FI documents (Manual FI entry) only and not with the automatic line generation like MIRO in the above case.
Later on I tried Tcode u2013 OKB9, but in that case after giving business area wise cost center substitution, system is correctly showing the entry (in simulation mode of MIRO transaction) in the required Cost Center & on that basis in the Profit Center, but still system requires u201CCO-Objectu201D
Initially we tried other way of creating a Cost Element under the category of u201C11 u2013 Revenueu201D to maintain Business Area u2013 Profit Center link but still in that case also it requires co-object hence turned to changing the Cost Element Category to u201C1 u2013 Primary Costu201D for capturing Profit center on the basis of Business Area u2013 Cost Center link since basically G/L u2013 u201Csmall Diff -Invoice Verificationu201D we have created under u201CExpense Groupu201D.
Our requirement is to post the entry in related profit center per Business Area in the line item of "Small Diff -Invoice Verification" since there are 6 to 7 business areas, which are active in system.
    Regards,
    Shridhar

    Hi,
Thanks for the reply. But I would like to correct you. I have mentioned in my subject line - "DIF" i.e the Transaction Key maintained in Transaction Code - OBYC for posting the small difference (Between GR and IR values) arriving at the time of MIRO transaction posting.
Now meanwhile I have come across u201CSAP Note : 32654u201D which mentioned that "Account assignment for the transaction (KDR, DIF, UPF) on the highest level i.e. the 1st screen where we set the Cost Center or Profit Center assignment to Cost Element with Acct Assignment details (1 or 2 or 3) is possible.
Same is not possible on details level means Acct Assignment details level per Valuation Area or Business Area for Cost Center or Profit Center linkage (2nd screen of OKB9).
Please do correct me if I am making any wrong statement.
Now would like to have an advise about the transaction Code - OKC9 with the scenario (MIRO document u2013 Dummy Profit center linkage) that I have mentioned above.
Do I require to maintain OKB9 (At highest level) and then need to work out CO- Substitution via OKC9 ? Or OKC9 is enough to cover my scenario ?
Do any body have a knowledge about that? Points will be assigned.

  • NEW GL: profit center allocation cross company codes possible?

    F-Hi,
In PCA the allocations are postes by company code - also the tracing factors are calculated by company code. In NEW GL, can the profit center allocation (transaction FAGLGA11) be done cross company, including the calculation of the tracing factors. Here is my example.
profit center     Company code     cost center     Posted amounts
    P00010     02                           200010     1.000,00
    P00010     03                           300010     2.000,00
    P00010     05                           500010     4.000,00
    P00010 Total                                   7.000,00
    P40100     02                          240100        10,00
    P40100     03                           340100         5,00
    P40100     05                          540100         5,00
    P40100 Total                                       20,00
    P40200     02                           240200        20,00
    P40200     03                           340200        30,00
    P40200     05                           540200        20,00
    P40200 Total                                       70,00
Purpose of the cycle in PCA:
Split the amount of profit center P00010 on to P40100 and P40200
with a ratio of what is posted already on those 2, cross company
So we should expect to split the 7.000 in to
         20/(20+70) from 7.000 = 1.555 for P40100
         70/(20+70) from 7.000 =  5.445 for P40200
But the program allocates by company code:
    split     1.000     by ratio 10/20
         2.000     by ratio 5/30
         4.000     by ratio 5/20
OR, because we are in NEW GL, is the solution a rollup ledger with a global company code?
    Thanks
    Yves Kieckens

    Hi,
I have sent an OSS message and they replied that it is not possible. There is a note about classic PCA indicating that cross company is not possible, and the same concept is valid for NEW GL.
I haven't done the solution via rollup ledger because not enough experience in my network.
We have done some specific programming in the upload of the statistical key figures as a workaround solution.
    Regards.

This will be a good link to understadn how the BS items are transferred in PCA.

Further Dummy PC will get posted only u post it to a unassigned Cost element. Cost elements which could not derive PC will go to Dummy profit center and periodically u can trasfer it to correct PC.

  • Tax posting in cost center and profit center level at time of billing

    Hi All,
I need the your inputs for below requirement:

    Thanks
    Risha

    Thanks...

  • Automatic clearing of VAT accounts as criterion Profit center

    Hello all,
We are trying to make automatic clearing for our VAT GL Accounts thru transaction F.13 and the criterion Profit center on table TF123.
The requirement is to clear the VAT line items form invoices against the documents generated by standard VAT declaration S_ALR_87012357.
This is not working as the profit center is not populated in Bseg on VAT line items, only in FAGLFLEXT.
How can we clear the VAT line items based on profit center automatically, is anyone already done this ?
    Thank you
    Tamim

    Thank you Mahesh,
The posting document generated by VAT declaration regroups many VAT postings, example
If I have 10 Invoices with VAT (each invoice with different Assignment), the VAT declaration will generate only 1 document, and regroup the different invoices VAT amount  by profit center.
That's why assignment is different between VAT line item, and VAT declaration document line items.
Also, we do not have PO number most of the cases.
We really need clearing on profit center as it seem the only shared value.
Is there a solution for this issue ?

  • Profit center determination

    Hi,
Can anyone help me understand how the profit centers are determined for the payables and receivables, customer vendor invoices line item postings in theory it says it is determined form the offset line item? can some one provide me with an example
One kind is from 3KEH table and if there is no profit defined there from where does the system picks up the profitcenter.
    Thank you

All profit center postings are statistical.
We don't post anything to Profit Center directly. Profirt center is derived from CO object.
When we define Cost Center we assign Profit center to the Cost center. If a transaction is posted to that cost center Profit center assigned to that cost center gets posted.
Likewise all cost objects are assigned with Profit Center. If by anychance any cost Object is not assigned with profit Center the transaction is posted to Dummy Profit Center by system automatically. This is necessary for reconciliation between FI and CO. We have to settle dummy profit center transactions periodically to the correct Profit center.
If you run Profit center assignment monitor, you will find which cost object is not assigned with profit center.
Hope you are clear about Profit Center assignment.

kindly help me out from the below mentioined issue :
I am using ECC 6.0 & document splitting has been activated for profit center as mandatory field.
Now I am trying to post an entry as below
    Wages a/c dr 30000
    Salaries a/c dr 20000

I am getting the error as "Balancing field "Profit Center" in line item 003 not filled.
    Diagnosis
The field Profit Center marked as balancing is not filled with any value in line item 003, even after document splitting.
    System Response
    The document cannot be posted.
    Procedure
    First check your entries.
    Additional causes could be:
No value can be derived for this field from the current document data.
You have entered a document type that is not designed for this business purpose.
I am using GL Profit center concept. No business area concept is with my client.
So kindly suggest me the solution for this issue. Also if there is any alternate solution through excise transaction.

Yes. I have set the profit center as mandatory and selected Zero Balance indicator also for the same.
but still i am getting the same error.

  • 1KEK - Transfer Payables and Receivables to Profit Center Accounting.

    Hi,
I have an issue in in regard to 1KEK - Transfer Payables and Receivables to Profit Center Accounting.
When a user is running 1KEK transaction, some of the open items like for customer is picking up Dummy profit Center. User wants those open items should not be posted to dummy profit center but to some other specified profit center. Profit Center will vary per company code. There will be one profit center per company code.
I have tried with subsitutution but it doesnt work. I also looked for some user exit but didnt find any.
Is there any way we can replace this dummy profit center with some other profit center.
    Regards,
    Harish

You may have to customize the 1KEK by copying it to your Z program with modification around the area which may be pointed to read the company code and change course from dummy profit center to the desired profit center.
The program that needs alteration to meet your needs would perhaps be LF048F00 as given in the correction instruction of the note number 87256.
This however would not be supported by SAP but needs monitoring for every future patch applied.

  • PROFIT CENTER ACCOUNTING-BALANCE SHEET ITEMS TRANSFER

    Dear all.
SAP describe as forllows about set up the opening balance for materials:
In this activity, you set up the opening balance for materials.
The system determines the material stock balance from Materials Management and posts it to Profit Center Accounting.
After setting up the opening balance, it is advisable to post the changes in the material stock balance online to Profit Center Accounting, as this simplifies reconciliation with Financial Accounting.
However, you can also transfer the material stock balance to Profit Center Accounting periodically.
I want to know how can i  transfer the material stock balance to Profit Center Accounting periodically?
    Thanks!

    Dear Chen
You can utilise the reports to transfer the balance sheet items periodically. pl  try this report to transfer the materials periodically S_ALR_87013348.
I hope it will suffice to resolve your querry.

  • Transaction code: 9KE0  - Posting with Dummy profit center

    Hi All,
We have an issue with transation 9KE0, While posting any adjustment entries with single line item, system automaticaly creating second line item few times.  We were unable to find the reason why it is creating second line for few documents?
Our requirement is that those entries should have only one line item in transaction 9KE0. Most of the cases we were able to post the document with single line item.
We are using almost 100 co.codes for our client.
For ex:  if we post one entry in co.code 1000 through transaction 9KE0 with single item, system posting with one lineitem.
But some times for the same co.code with same parameters if we post one line item, second line item automatically creating with dummy profit center while posting.
Please let us know why the system is creating two line items.
    Awaiting for your replies.

    Hi,
We have further analyzed this issue and found that, whenever the amount in field(KSL -Amount in profit center local currency) is ZERO, System it is creating second line item with dummy profit center.
    ex:1
proft cenert        account         amount in co.code cur    amount in profit center local currency
    9999                    100000             - 0.13                                 00
    dummy                 100010               0.13                                 00
    ex:2
proft cenert        account         amount in co.code cur    amount in profit center local currency
    9999                    100000             - 3.13                                 1
we have verified the values in GLPCA table also... whenever the  tech field KSL-Amount in profit center local currency is zero system creating two line items.
Please suggest us is there a solution to stop the second line item even the amount in profit center local currency field (Tech name -KSL) is Zero
    Awaiting for your suggestions.

debit receivable account 260 (profit center 2)
credit revenue         240 (profit center 1)
credit revenue        260 (profit center 2)
and, when i see Profit center report (for Profit center 1), i dont see any receivable account.
so, can you help me how to display this receivable amount in profit center report
    thank in advance.

    Hi,
using New GL and activating "old" PCA is possible,  just do the settings in T-Code 1KEF.
But as PCA is an integrated functionality of NewGL why do you want to post this documents again to "old" special ledger?
Guess its more senseful to update your reporting based on the NewGL data source...
    Best regards, Christian

  • PGI-profit center

    Hi All,
We have activated the split valuation for material code (XXXX)
Material Code1---------- Split valuation “”A”” No costing Views
Material Code1----------- Split valuation “”B”” No Costing Views
When we are doing the PGI for the above material codes. System is not picking the profit centre from the material master (unable to maintaining costing views due to split valuation)....
    Please help...
    Thanks

    Hi
As Ajay rightly pointed out, you can create costing views independent of the valuation type.
Try using MM01 and just select plant (do not enter valuation type) and then choose the costing views, you should be able to maintain it then.
Once done, I am sure the same profit center would be used in PGI.
However if your requirement is to have different profit center per valuation type, then I can only think of using Ztable for this purpose. You cannot save multiple profit centers in the same material master (Table MARC)
In this case, you can use subsitution as suggested above, by selecting BSEG-MATNR, BSEG-WERKS & BSEG-BWTAR combination in your Ztable to derive correct profit center.
Hope the above information was useful
    Regards
    Mustafa
