Upload Overtime hours alongwith diffrent cost centre

Hi,
This is my first question to you guys and I hope that you will not disappoint me. I am working for the UK client, so on monthly basis I received a file which includes the employees pay number, hours, Overtime claimed date and cost centre different with the default cost centre of the employees. So I used to put all the entries manually one by one in IT 0015 or 2010 because I am unable to do the bulk file upload as the Cost centre is diffrent. I know that we can upload the hrs through "zchrnew" but dont know how to upload them with the cost centre.
Could you please let me know if there is any way to upload the Overtime hours in SAP with the Cost Centre.
Thanks
Naveen

Hi Sikinder,
Thanks for the reply. But with the CTRL+F2 we can change the cost centre for only one entry and my concern is regarding Bulk Upload for Overtime. Do you have any idea how we can upload (more than one entry in one go) the cost centre alongwith the overtime hours? What I wanted to upload in SAP is Employee ID, OT Start Date, Wage Type, OT hrs and cost centres. Please let me know if you have any suggestions as how we can upload the same in SAP and under which TCODE.
Thanks

  • Restrict Query By Cost Centre

I have a number of users who recieve a budget report. The query in the report is restricted by a variable on Cost Centre. There is an authorisation logged against the user in RSECADMIN for cost centre so when the report runs it knows they only have authorisation to view budgets for that specific cost centre.
However I want to design another report that shows overtime spend for all cost centres. If I give the users authority to view overtime spend for all cost centres the budget report restriction fails e.g. they have now got access to all cost centres and see all budgets.
    Is there anyway around this?

In that case it is very simple and yes you can separate both authorizations.
    In RSECADMIN built two authorizations:
    Aut_1:
Cost_center: only the cost centers the user should have
    0TCAACTVT: 03 (display only)
    0TCAIPROV: <The_InfoProvider_the_query_restricted_by_only_some_profit_centers_in_here>
    0TCAKYFNM: * (all key figures)
    0TCAVALID: * (Valid for ever)
    Aut_2:
    Cost_center: * (all cost centers)
    0TCAACTVT: 03 (display only)
    0TCAIPROV: <The_InfoProvider_the_query_restricted_by_all_profit_centers_in_here>
    0TCAKYFNM: * (all key figures)
    0TCAVALID: * (Valid for ever)
Give both authorizations to the user. When the user opens the query built on the InfoProvider that exist in Aut_1, the system will retrieve the Aut_1 authorizations values, therefore, only some Cost Centers.
When the user opens the query built on the InfoProvider that exist in Aut_2, the system will retrieve the Aut_2 authorizations values, therefore, all Cost Centers.
This is because, the systema builds union on 0TCAIPROV characteristic. If they are different, then, different values are granted as you wish.

  • Org.Unit & Cost Centre

    Hi Experts,
We hav uploaded the Org.Units and Cost Centres Data by using BDCs but both the objects r not displaying in IT:0001.
Pls let me know your thoughts.
    Thanks

    Hi Rajesh,
Check weather the switch is active in T77S0 for PLOGI PLOGI to`X` to activate OM & PA integration.
    Try to run Following reports:
-Using report RHINTE00, you can create objects in Organizational Management from the Personnel Administration infotype 0001 ("Organizational assignment"). In doing this, the following relationships are created:
oCost center and organizational unit or position
oPosition and organizational unit, job or person
-Using report RHINTE10, you can transfer the objects you created in Organizational Management to tables in Personnel Administration.
-Using report RHINTE30, you can update the "Organizational assignment" infotype (0001) for the personnel number you have selected, with the data you created in Organizational Management (by executing report RHINTE10).
-Using report RHINTE20, you can check whether the objects relevant for integration are set up both in Personnel Administration as well as in Organizational Management.
and also execute RHINTECHECK report to check the consistenacy of the Data

    Hi,
error "Indicators are not their for controlling area" but I hav given the controlling area as well
please check you have now controlling area for fiscal year 2011, or desired year.
i think you do not have for the fiscal year that you are trying the same.
go to OKKP for your controlling area for fiscal year 2011 & select in as CoCd->CO Area ( controlling area same as company code) and active components/control indicators for { Cost Centers : Component Active ,Order Mgmt: Component Active } and then save.
or it might be in T.Code: OKE5
Check whether control indicators is checked in OKE5 or not.
this is done by FI consultant. if you have authorization then do it, if not consult your FI consultant.

  • Cost centre upload LSMW

    Hi all
Can anyone provide me with a good step by step process for uploading a cost centre list using LSMW.
    Thank you in advance
    Peter

    Hi Phani,
u can go for lsmw (if u want to use DI method first know which structure u have to take ) .
if u want to use Recording method( before starting do recording with functional guys , so that there is any issue while doing recording functional guys would be solved, and technical persons also dont have any problem while doing lsmw).
if u have coding in ur program (better go for BDC or BAPI)
after starting the job any issues let discuss in SDN.

  • F-92 posting error- Cost centre locked for revenue posting

    Hello,
While I am trying to post F-92 (Asset Retirment), I get the following error:
"Cost center AR011001 in controlling area 1000 is locked for revenue postings on 25.11.2009."
    How do I go ahead?
    Thanks,

    Hi Eli,
    Thanks for the quick response.
I am aware I can remove the lock indicator in the cost centre master data.  We had earlier uploaded cost centre master data through LSMW .
My question is  once the lock is removed , we will be able to go ahead and post to the cost centre .The Gl account used here is CLEARING REVENUE ACCOUNT FIXED ASSET and when we assign the cost centre with lock indicator we get the message
"Cost center AR011001 in controlling area 1000 is locked for revenue postings on 25.11.2009"
Would like to know the impact (apart from effect on reporting) once the lock indicator is removed.
    Thanks,

  • Migration of Cost Centre Hierarchy from 4.7 to ECC.0

    Hi Gurus
Our client is upgrading from 4.7 to ECC 6
Now currently we have a standard hierarchy in Legacy system and multiple alternate hierarchies.
I would request your suggestions on the best way to be able to combine and modify the Hierarchies outside Legacy System before uploading into ECC.
I could find an IDOC COGRP01 which can create cost centre groups which requires data in a particular format.
    Best Regards
    Varun

    Hi Varun
Choice is yours! Whether you modify it in the Source system 4.7 version and then transfer it to ECC or you move it as it is to ECC and then modify it in ECC
you will have to choose between the two

  • Posting to a cost centre from a sales order

Hi all.  We are currently in the process of replacing a third party system which deals with publicity mailing and taking the process onto our SAP system.
At the moment a report is run on the third party system at month end which details the months costs (freight and handling) which is then uploaded into SAP by JV in order to make the postings to the correct cost centres.
However, the current method of raising orders via email will be replaced with raising sales orders on SAP.  The sales order will obviously allow postings to a profit centre via the material, but how do I then get the costs into a cost centre for reporting and budgetary control?
I originally thought of using OKB9, however the relationship is not a simple one profit centre to one cost centre, and the costs have to be split across multiple costs centres.
Any ideas would be extremely welcome.
If you need any further info just let me know.
    Many thanks

There are a couple of options depending on how the data comes in and how you want to disburse it. You could use a substitution rule and you could also do CO allocations as well. This is because you have one profit center and many cost centers. One to one is a an easy flow match.

  • Is it possible if overtime calculated under 2 cost centers.

    Hi experts outhere,
    I have 2 question to ask :
    1. Is it possible if overtime calculated under 2 cost centers. For example, IT exec working overtime this week in IT dept. The overtime will go to IT cost center.Next week, IT exec working overtime in HR dept, and overtime calculated under cost centers of HR dept.
    2. Calculation for current rate based on 8 hours working hours. Is it possible to have another calculation for those who working hours 7.5 hours.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
    1. Similar to what was already suggested you can assign posting cost center in IT 2002 "Attendances" or 2010 "Employee remuneration" (see button "Cost assignment" or Ctrl+F2).
    2. The answer depends on how you compensate overtime: a) you use standard procedure with table V_512W_B and compensation is based on hourly rates. Then system should use right hourly rate for 8 and 7.5 h. daily WSR, b) you calculate compensation in the PCR, then you have to adjust PCR.
    Cheers

  • CATS - Defaulting Receiver Cost Centre in CAT2

    Greetings !!
We currently use some Activity Types with Zero rate to book non productive time.
These hours therefore need to be booked on a Cost Centre ( receiver) instead of WBS element.
We would like to default the Receiver Cost Center value to be same as Sender Cost Centre ( from Infotype 0001)
Can you please suggest how to achieve this?
    Many thank in advance
    JG

    requirement is :
    1. user has to book productive hours against wbs
    2. non productive hours against the home cost center
    3. user should be able to do that within a single cats entry profile.
    solution:
    1. educate the users to use the correct activity codes for the right kind of work performed. - really simple.
    2. now the idiot proof technical solution: do a user exit to enforce
    a. if wbs is selected non-productive activites cannot be entered
    b. if non productive activity is selected only home cost center can be the receiver
c and so on and so forth kind of conditions.
    d. ensure you do not hardcode stuff, its a bad practice but not unheard of in the abap world.
    e. you may want to check the catsnnnn user exits provided by sap, where nnnn = numbers 0001 till 0009 I think.

  • Cost centre role in SD module

    Hi FI/CO experts,
Do anyone know the cost centre role in SD module.?
In which scenarios we hve to use Cost centres in SD module.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    shabnum

    Dear Shabnum
Cost center costs are always transferred to one profitability segment:
    <u><b>-> Production cost centers</b></u>
These cost centers are first credited during production as the activities they perform (such as machine hours and assembly hours) are required. The amount of the credit is based on the quantities confirmed by production and on the activity prices (such as machine hour rates) usually calculated in cost center planning. The balances that are thus achieved - or the overabsorption/underabsorption remaining for the production cost centers due to the difference between credits and actual costs - are transferred en bloc in periodic profit analysis to those profitability segments in CO-PA that caused those costs.
<u><b>-> Sales and administration cost centers</b></u>
Many companies transfer the costs from administrative cost centers to CO-PA en bloc instead of allocating them to cost objects. This reduces the period results of the individual divisions, product groups, or business areas.
It is also possible to transfer postings that are made in Financial Accounting to cost centers and profitability segments at the same time. In this case, the postings are statistical in Cost Center Accounting, while the true costs are stored in Profitability Analysis. The system ignores these statistical costs in Cost Center Accounting when assessing costs to Profitability Analysis.

  • Where to find debit entry for planned activities through cost centre?

    hello experts,
our client would like to know the impact of planned activities cost debit entry. the scenario is as follows.
    1. at the year begining we are planning activity hrs against any cost centre.
    2. respective activity hours are being confirmed through PP/PM orders.
this time orders are being credited and cost centres are being debited for the activty prices.
Now the question is tracability of credit entry wrt corresponding entry debit entry in the cost centre.
    Can anyone help me out?
    Regards,
    Varsha.

    Hi,
    Let break this issue.
    1. If you maintain KP06, with reference to CE / CC / Activity, you get debit entries for the relevant cost centers
    2. If you maintain KP26 Planned Activities and Planned Rates, you get credit to the relevant cost centers
So in the S_ALR_87013611 report referred to above, you would get both debit and credit to the cost centers in Plan Costs column + you can check the plan activities in the below section.
    As against this actuals:
    1. When you post your expenses to the cost centers / carry out assessment or distribution cycles for production cost centers (linked to the activity types), you ge the actual debits.
    2. When you confirm the operations of the production orders, you get the credit to the cost centers.
    Hope this clarifies your doubt.
    Cheers!!

  • Urgent: Can Overtime hours be directly charged to a WBS, Project etc.

    Dear Team:
Can Overtime hours be directly charged to a WBS, Project etc.
Let me have a Business Solution as well as the SAP solution to do the same requirement.
    For example:
If an employee has worked for a Project - Instrumentation for 8 hours + 4 hours as overtime. The total 12 hours to be charged to Instrumentation Project.
Currently we are following as 8 hours are charged directly to the Project using Project Systems Data Entry Profile and 4 hours overtime using HR Data Entry Profile. These overtime hours are not getting directly charged to the Project but these are getting paid.
How the above 4 hours of overtime be charged against a project as well as to be paid as overtime. Please assist.
    Regards
    Mallikarjun P
    [email protected]

I didn't get you. Please could you explain me clearly.
Now my scenario is as follows:
If an employee has worked for a project he would be recording his man hours using the Project Systems Profile. For example he has worked on 24.03.2008 for 10 hours for an X project. He books the 10 hours in the project, but in this case 2 hours is overtime to be paid, so he goes to the HR Data entry profile and books the 2 hours as overtime for date 24.03.2008. These 2 hours are recorded in infotype 2002 and payment is made as per the calculation.
10 hours which went to Project Systems will be based on some fixed amount per hour as per the settings. But these 2 hours cost which was paid as overtime in HR should be reflected in the project instead of the normal cost which was set in PS.
    More clear:
Project Systems - 1 hour rate is Rs.30.
Human Resources - 1 hour overtime is Rs.100.
    If 10 hours worked in Project, 8 hours * 30 = Rs.240 charged to a project.
But 2 hours overtime = 2  hours * 100 = Rs.200 should be charged to the Project and also should be paid as overtime.
    Please update on the same.

  • Assignment of Cost centre in OM

    Dear Experts ,
I am having a scenario ...can two cost centre be assigned to one person. Its like person X is assigned one cost centre.Person Y has left the company. Now we want to assign the same cost centre which was under Y to X..So, person X has two cost centre under him.
Is it possible? as I am facing problem while doing this..If yes..please tell the steps or method.
    Regards,
    Tanu.

    Dear Tanuja,
    1. Why do want to assign two cost center with one person?
    Info type 0027:
You can use IT 0027 & subtype 01 for distribution of employee salaries.
Ex: Total employee salary want to go particular WBS Element or Order type then maintain IT 0027 with 100%. So when ever payroll postings happening, that particular employee salary will get posted as per IT 0027.
    Info type 0001:
where we will maintain master cost center
Assignment of Personnel Costs to the Master Cost Center
    Purpose
This data entry scenario for cost accounting assumes that employees always work for their master cost center and that the receiver of an activity is not debited with the personnel costs. This is the standard scenario if you do notimplement SAP Payroll (PY).
If you do use SAP Payroll, you should not use this scenario in the following cases:
You want to debit the receiver object of an activity with the personnel costs
You want to perform activity allocation
The sender cost center is not the employee’s master cost center
This would cause an imbalance in cost accounting, since the sender cost center would be credited with the entered hours and the master cost center debited with the personnel costs.Prerequisites
Employees who enter their working times using a data entry profile specifying their cost center must always work for the same master cost center(s), as specified in the Organizational Assignment (0001) or Cost Distribution (0027) infotypes.Process flow
You enter an activity allocation or confirmation in the time sheet.
In Controlling, the activity allocation credits the sender cost center and debits the receiver cost center.
If an attendance, absence or wage type is entered at the same time, the system writes the working time information to the Attendances (2002), Absences (2001), or EE Remuneration Info infotype (2010) in HR.
The Payroll component determines the personnel costs for the times.
In Controlling, the employee’s master cost center is debited according to what was specified in theOrganizational Assignment (0001) or Cost Distribution (0027) infotypes.
So my suggestion is before assigning two cost centers with one employee just once discuss with your CO consultant he suggest you how to it..!
