User mapping not available

Hi all,
I have installed EP SR1 . I am trying to map a system to a role. When i try to user mapping it asks for username ,pwd for the system.
When i enter it and save it ,its throwing the following error.
Any patches ?

Hi,
User Mapping, we have to install encryption packages, if you are not concerned abt security, one work around is
goto System Config->UM Config-> Select Direct Editing Tab and change this valuefrom FALSE to TRUE.
#Use usermapping without strong cryptography (IAIK). It is strongly recommended to keep the default value (FALSE). Only change this setting, if you cannot install a cryptography provider due to import and export regulations. Then, if this property is set to TRUE, the usermapping information will not be encrypted.
(Type: Boolean, Default: 'FALSE')

First you must import sap crptographic toolkit from help.sap.com, following link: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/04/d246215f1d4f588d1d9c49391acb01/frameset.htm
Here be careful to follow all the steps, have a look at the link and the subt topic deploying crptographic toolkit.
Onec you have done that, restart the portal and related services.
Now it is possible that you might face other new probles or exceptions.
In that case you might need to update your jce files etc.

Hi,
I am trying to set up a user mapping in EP6 SP9
I have created a system (usig the "Dedicated Application Server for R/3 System" template, not sure if that is correct but I didn't think it would matter),
and an alias and everything seems fine until I try and create the mapping itself
In the "User mapping" window I click edit of the user I want to map, that works
I then type in a username and password (and domain since I have added that property)
When I press "Save" I get the error below
Anyone know what might be wrong?

I installed the SP9 preview yesterday and had exactly the same problem. However I think I found a solution. Try the following:
In your portal go to 'System Administration' -> 'System Configuration' -> 'UM Configuration' -> 'Direct Editing'.
There locate the parameter 'ume.usermapping.unsecure', set it to 'TRUE' and restart your server.

Is the "Display list of web app items submitted by a user" feature not available in the free trial? I can see it in the tutorials but its not available when I am logged in.

Its just named a little differently now. You should be able to add the module {module_webappscustomer} through the Modules toolbox in the web page editor window, as indicated below. Please note that webapps feature is available only for webCommerce sites. File System Repository - User Mapping not Working

Hi,

The only problem is, tht the user mapping doesn't seem to work...
The portal is running on a UNIX system, whereas the file share to be integrated is running on a Windows 2003 Server.
Here are the single steps that I performed:
- Creation of a KM Windows System in the system landscape directory with the ID "MySystem". User Mapping is set to "User,Admin"
- Creation of a Windows System in the system landscpe of the KM with the ID "MySystem"
- Creation of a Network Path in KM with following settings:
jCIFS Protocol is activated; Network Path = "
My Server\My Share"; User = "My Windows Domain\My User" and the according password. The specified user has administration permissions on the server.
- Creation of a readonly File System Repository Manager with following settings:
Root-Directory = "
My Server\My Share", SecurityManager = W2kSecurityManager, ACL Manager Cache = ca_rsrc_acl, Windows Landscape System = "MySystem"
- Configuration of the W2KSecurityManager: I specified the DomainFile-setting as "/etc/companydomaincontrollers.txt"
and placed such a file in the KM with following setting: "My.Server.Domain=According IP Adress"
- In UME I carried out user mapping for index_service user and placed the above mentioned admin user into the user mapping.
Result: The indexing works fine, all fles are indexed. When I however try to carry out a user mapping for a "normal" portal user in the UME it doesn't work: The portal user has no access to the file system. (I used the same admin user for mapping... so it should work).
Any help is appreciated...
P.S. With portal super admin users I can however access the fle system repository, even without user mapping. But I think this is ok, because I read in one forum message that admin users have always access in general....

I have as well definied an Alias Name with exactly the same id. So this gives us following:
System landscape directory: KM Windows System with id="MySystem" and Alias="MySystem"
KM System Landscape: Windows System with id="MySystem"
In the created file system repository manager I also set "MySystem" for the Windows Landscape System parameter.
So I think that this should be correct (I also considered upper- and lowercase letters).
Maybe the probem lies in specifying the domain names? When I applied user mapping I always additionally specified the Windows domain name of the users, which is correct I think.
In the security manager configuration for the domain controllers (-> [http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/a9/c54e9e09448d46b73d154e93d5e995/content.htm]) I however mapped the network domain of the file share server to the according IP adress. Maybe this is wrong?

Add User option not available.

I’ve recently purchased a MacMini which uses Mac OS X Tiger.
I’m looking to add a new user but the ‘+’ button on the user information panel is not available (greyed out). The only account I have created is the one created for me during the first power on setup.
Does anyone have any ideas as to why this option is not available and how to make it available.

Most likely that you have 'locked' your account settings. Click on the locked padlock and enter your account password. Everything should work.

How can I reassign an iPad to a new user when the previous user is not available?

I am in IT for my company and we issue iPads to team members. When they separate we wipe the iPads and keep them available for reassignment.
I am trying to reassign one of the returned iPads to another user now. It is not allowing me to do so. I see on Apple's support site, there instructions for resolving this if the previous 'owner' is available, but I do not see steps for if they are not.
I will try calling Apple support as well... However, comments and suggestions you might respond with are appreciated.

Check the providers are in "SUFFICIENT" mode,both, DefaultAutenticator as your own.
Other way:
If I remember correctly, you can use "External Routing", creating an allocation rule from an external supplier.
Then assign participant based on that rule as.

Some user fonts not available in CS6 Classic InDesign, please help

   I am using Adobe CS6 Classic on a MacPro computer operating on Yosemite 10.10.1
   Three months ago, I brought over my personal collection of fonts from my retired computer. The collection includes 30 Letraset postscript fonts, which I purchased so long ago that the originals are on floppy disk.
   Initially, FontBook would not install the fonts, but I was able to overcome that by purchasing FontXChange, a tool which enabled me to quickly and effortlessly convert the Postscript fonts to Open Type fonts.
   Using FontBook I installed those fonts into the
               users/(my home folder)/library/fonts folder.
   Twenty-six of the 30 fonts immediately became available on the InDesign fonts drop-down list. The other 4 simply cannot be made to appear on the list. (This is strange, because those fonts do appear among the fonts available for MS Word.
   I have been searching for a solution online and have not found anyone who is experiencing my exact problem.
   I have tried moving the problem fonts into many different fonts folders, the most promising of which were:
             •the user/(my homefolder)/library/application support/adobe/fonts folder.
             •and the MacHD/library/fonts folder.
   I’ve tried starting from scratch with the Postscript font, converting it again to otf, etc. in case somehow the font became corrupted in the conversion process.
   Etc., etc.—Nothing works.
   The problem fonts are: Bronx, Demian, Demian Bold, and Willow.
   Can anyone out there help?

Some users are not available to send e-mails

Hi, I've got a Sun One messaging server 2004 Q2 installed on a solaris 9 (sparc). Everything works fine until I created two users, only those users have problems with sending e-mails outside the server and the most strange thing is that they do not receive any error but only some of their e-mails reach it's destination.
I've read the system log and it doesn't report abnormal activity.
I deleted the users from LDAP and created them again.
I've checked the users attributes from LDAP definition and nothing look to be abnormal.
Please help me.

It's likely nothing to do with your server or the users.
We would need to see the mta logs showing the e-mails not reaching the destination to be able to help.
If you see the messages getting dequeued, that means that the messages indeed left your server, and any problem would be downstream from there. If you do not see them getting dequeued, then there may be an associated error message we could look at.

I have not been able to get to the good part of configuring the ZBF.

I am having the same problem. I have seen a few diffenent configuration examples and they all show adding the "parameter type urlfpolicy trend parm-map-name" command but it doesn't exist, at least in 15.2(3)T1 and I see it listed in the the IOS documentation for 15.2. Maybe they forgot it :-)
I guess I will open a TAC case as I do not want to downgrade...
I will keep you posted if I find the answer.

Image Maps not available?

I have RH8 and noticed the html "image map" functionality does not work in a generated a Word document and/or a PDF document. Can someone confirm this is correct? I looked around for some kind of setting, but I can't find one.

This would seem to make sense that Image Maps would fail to convert to a medium primarily intended for printing.

Current User Filter not available in the Add Web Parts list - Sharepoint 2007

Hi everybody,
I'm trying to build a copy (or auto-populate) function on a list.
I did all the coding changes, now I need to add a web part to my list called Current User Filter.
Problem is, the Current User Filter is not in the Web Part list at all!
How can I add it ? I looked in the Central Admin Panel and did not see anything.

What version of SharePoint are you using? I think that this is s MOSS webpart, so if you're using the WSS version of the product, you're probably out of luck.
