Using display/consolehelper gives "Unknown Error"

Dear Experts,
I'm using Redhat 5.5

When I go to check the display settings, I
get a popup window, displaying the message:
"Unknown Error"
See my analysis below.
I did try:
yum reinstall usermode
- same symptom.
From the trace output, I sense that it cannot find a particular file.
What would be an effective solution?

Too old, or 0 bytes.

Doing a number of searches on this error, it is related to VMWare.
In retrospect, these errors seem to appear after I installesd VMware Player.

There are two fairly simple ways to eliminate the warning.
Remove the .gtkrc file from your home directory on the host.
Note: This causes all applications based on GTK+ to use the default theme. Any settings stored in ~/.gtkrc (or in files that it includes) may revert to defaults. If you regularly use custom styles in your other applications, you may prefer the second solution.
Contact Red Hat for a 32-bit Bluecurve theme engine compatible with GTK+ version 1, or locate the Bluecurve theme on the Web. (Bluecurve is found in the redhat-artwork RPM.) Installing a compatible Bluecurve theme allows VMware Workstation or the VMware Console to use the default Bluecurve theme specified by the .gtkrc file.
If, in your case, the warning message refers to a theme other than Bluecurve, you need to locate and install a 32-bit engine for that theme, compatible with GTK+ version 1.----

The crazy thing in this last part is:
- it opens the Clearlooks theme
- then, a few lines later, is looking for Bluecurve
To sum up:
It's related to VMWare Player, and themes.
Both themes are installed.
However, the installed theme is 64 bit.
VMWare wants 32 bit.
Any ideas on how to solve this issue?

Start the "BEA Ali Logger service" on your portal server machine. Then when the problem occurs you can analyze \bea\alui\ptlogging\logs\portal\portalserver-log.spy to find out more information about what might be causing the problem. You can also set up a wireshark network capture log using the ringbuffer mode which lets you collect logs in a loop. This way if there are network issues you can find out about that too. If you're not comfortable setting these up or analyzing them an oracle support engineer can assist you if you open a case.

I have just started using the new premiere CC. Gives unknown error when using CBR

I tried using the same export setting for mpeg2 that I used in CS6, but CC will say Unknown error when I try to export. It will only work with Vpass 1 or 2. Any ideas why?

Is the printer connected wirelessly or wired?
Go to Preferences and under categories go to > Convert to Pdf then select the Image Capture and then hit ok button.
Close Acrobat and then relaunch it and see if it helps you while you do scanning.

Trying to add a new user, but gives unknown error

When I go to site actions >> site setting >> site permissions >> and try to add a new user, it gives me "unknown error". Any ideas why this is happening? This is happening only on some of the sites. Thank you.

Display Firefox Sync Unknown error.

I already use Firefox Sync, after few days ago i face sync problem. Every time Firefox Sync display "'''Sync encountered an error while syncing: Unknown error. Sync will automatically retry this action'''". So why is that and how do i fix it.
How do i ensure that Firefox Sync properly work.

Provisioning Profiles Generation gives "Unknown Error" after Selecting Members

Well, I can no longer generate provisioning profiles because it gives an unknown error after selecting members and clicking continue. Any workarounds?

They mentioned when I called that the (-18) error is a network error because of their activation servers being down at this time. They said the activation servers are used to authenticate restores through iTunes for the iPhone. It should be back up tonight or tomorrow sometime according to support.
So if its not back up by tomorrow I will call again. Thanks for the help.

Burning music CD gives unknown error 2605

When burning an audio/music CD is iTunes for Win, I get unknown error code 2605. iTunes diags report that the CD is OK and I am able to create a data CD\DVD within iTunes using the same playlist that will NOT burn a music CD. I am able to rip a music CD in AShampoo - just near as convenient as burning a playlist. The general sympton is that after the burn command is issued, the CD spins up just a little, then stops and the error is reported maybe 10 seconds later.
Apple has two tech docs (that I have seen) on this subject = no relief from their suggestions, Some have reported that editing the CD config file will help - this suggestion was not helpful for me. And burning at slower speeds was also suggested but not helpful. Also tried different brands of CD's - nada. Have not tried uninstalling and reinstalling as that rarely works - but, if I do, I will uninstall with REVO to remove all traces from the registry.
Just came accros two more suggestions which I will try when I have access to the computer - 1) consolidate the library and 2) simplify - create a playlist of 1 song and try that.... basically troubleshoot the playlist itself.

I couldn't find it, but I saw a post were a few of the CD's in the stack were bad. I have not found a Sony or Maxell CD-R 700MB 80min in the 5 or 10 packs that have been bad (fingers crossed).
Try "Disk Utilities" here is the page that tells how to record on them more than once, see if you can burn then there.

Also you are showing Mac OX S (10.4.7) You should update to the (10.4.8 Combo) it also may help with this issue.

Sync Setup gives unknown error when creating account

Getting "unknown error" when trying to setup sync account. i have the latest version of firefox. i cleared the cache. I did a factory reset. none of it worked.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

TS3694 itunes gives unknown error (21).

Hello, ever since the new IOS update in Oct 2013, my iphone has been slowly dying. when I mean dying I mean certain functions did not work anymore, such as
camera, lock button-( which meant I could not turn phone off unless I ran battery dry). All other functions like messaging or texting, making and recieving calls worked. This continued up until I went to Cuba for a week during Xmas and had to run battery dry so would not incure roaming charges. After returning back to Canada, I tried to charge the Iphone but it kept looping the apple logo over and over. I then connected phone to itunes and tried to restore it and could not. Yes I have latest version of itunes for PC and it would give me unknown error 21. Could this be a batterry issue. Please help..

I just wanted to add that I have updated to iTunes 10, and this problem still exists.

Some times I require to check the active users for this app. in SCC but when I click this app, SCC gives me an error as below.
Error :- An Unknown server error has occurred, Please check log files.
Error Log :- Gives Null pointer exception while trying to read getLastCommunication date and time.
Please help me If any body has already faced this issue or knows the solution.

Thank you so much for the quick reply.
It does not create any issue to users but some times we need to kill/disconnect the user session(some times WPF client shows "Already Logged in else where" ) for which we want to resolve this error.
I get this error only when any user does a transmit other than that It does not give any error.
In our case background sync is active So at any point of time at least one user will be connected with the server.
Please help me If you know any other way to disconnect the user from SCC.

Itunes freezes and gives "unknown error -1202"

How do I solve this? When I sign out of one account to get into another, iTines freezes and must be shut down. Also when I try to access anything in my account or even "redeem" gift cards, then it gives the unknown error -1202.

Well get this....
I have been emailing Apple about the problem, and "Vaibhav" has been no help what so ever, He asked me today to send him a photo of the itunes gift card (code and all) which I think is a little suspect..
I have actually fixed the issue of the gift card myself, I signed into itunes on my parents computer and entered the code, and its now showing in my account.
The problem now (this feels like its never going to end) is that when i have tried to purchase an album (+ by Ed Sheeran fyi) itunes asks me to accept an updated terms of service, i tick the box and click accept, and the bloody 1202 message pops up again:
"We could not complete your iTunes request. An unknown error occured (-1202). There was an error with the iTunes store, please try again later"
I'm getting seriously wound up now with this problem, I've reinstalled itunes twice since christmas, and honestly i feel like apple are just mugging me off!
