Vendor "SAPGUI" Portal?

The business would like to grant a Vendor access to our system via SAP GUI so they can monitor inventory, PO's and the like.  Think of Vendor Portal without the Portal.
The challenge is limiting their access to only their "vendor" information (PO's, materials, etc).
One thought I had was to grant them access to MD04 collective access by Vendor.  However, having difficulty making a call transaction skip first screen function properly (although I am close, by exporting memory, I can select the collective access tab, and pass the parameters for plant and vendor,  but the transaction is calling for the MRP controller (first option) vs. selecting the Vendor)).
Transaction variants do not work on these screens as they are not "normal".
1. Any thoughts on overcoming the MD04 limitation short of a modification?
2. Any other thoughts on how to provide SAPGUI access to a Vendor in a controlled fashion?

Hi,
The question is what do you want to let the vendor see?
You could write a report that shows only this data, and grant access only to that vendor.
Alternatively, you could define a dummy plant, where all material types are non valuated, and to copy/duplicate in there any stock information that you want. Of course, authorization by plant is simple.
Just a couple of ideas, for sure you can find more.

Mario

  • Collaboration  with vendor  via Portal?

    Hi everyone :
I meet a problem about collaboration with vendor. Our customer has lots of vendor ,and our customer expect that their vendor could query related R/3 report real-time via Portal on Internet .
I had done the SSO between Portal and R/3, and the user who had Portal user and R/3 both  could access R/3 via Portal easily. We can create user for vendor in Portal easily, but it is impossible that we create user for all of vendors in R/3 , because of R/3 user need to pay for license. So vendors could not query R/3 report via Portal now .
        My problem :
        1. Vendors can't query R/3 report via Portal now.
Is there anyone met this problem ever , and How to solve this problem ?
2.On the assumption that our vendor can query R/3 report via Portal now, how can we control the authorization that certain vendor could query his data only, can't query other vendor's data ?
Any advice and discuss is welcome!

  • Create vendor thru portal

    Hi,
to create a vendor using portal and storing in MDM, do we need to create iviews and workflow using Guided procedures
or is it necessary to have adobe interactive forms and use guided procedures to trigger workflow.
    response is highly appreciated
    sonali

    Hi Sonali,
You want to store Vendor information in MDM for that you need to create the structure i.e. repository. You can access this repository on the portal by creating the MDM System and connecting that system with this repository. You will get the entire field list present in the repository and you can use those fields in entering Vendor information using Item Details iView.
    Hope it helps...
    Reward if found useful

  • How do we create a vendor using portal?

how do we create a vendor using portal.
creation process needs to trigger workflow.
    Sonali

You need to use WLST online. I am not sure what your exact requirements are but one good way of working this is to have a WLST script that deletes all your WL customisations, like connection pools, JMS Servers etc and then creates it. That way you can run the same script repeatedly and it will get everything up to date for you. However you have to remember that everytime you add something new you need to update your delete section. Also your deleting should not fail if the item does not exist. I hope that makes sense!
As to the specifics of WLST examples to do this then check out the WLST examples in CodeShare.
If you are still having issues then post another message.

  • No portal, only EBPuFF06SUS, vendor how to reply the bid and auction?

According to standard functions, vendor use portal to response bid invitation and auction, am I right?
Our customer have no portal, only EBP&SUS, if want to use sourcing functionality, vendor how to reply the bid and auction?  any solution on this case?

    Hi,
Bidder logon to SUS. SUS has manu link for Bid Invitation. When bidder selects Bid Invitation link in SUS, application brings up the EBP ITS screen.
+ You have to set up bidder replication from SUS to EBP
+ Single Sign On should be setup from SUS to EBP
+ SUS bidder should have SAP_EC_SUS_BIDDER role
    Please check SUS customizing.

  • Vendor Replication Issue

    Hello Experts,
We are in SRM 7.0 classic scenario. We are facing an issue in Vendor replication as described below:-
We have connected a new backend R/3 system to the SRM system i.e now the SRM system is connected to 2 backend R/3 system.
We replicated the vendor from the new backend R/3 system as shown below
1.Transaction BBPGETVD to bring the vendors from the new backend R/3 system into SRM system
2.Transaction BBPUPDVD to update the vendor from the new backend R/3 system.
There were around 25000 vendors linked to the Required Purchasing org in the the new backend R/3 system, but out of these only 2 could be replicated.
We verified the Vendor Replication as described below
    1) SE16-Table VENMAP(logsys-new backend R/3 system)
    2) SE16-BBPM_BUT_FRG0061(To confirm the Org ID of the Porg for which these vendors are extended)
We can see that the vendor are from the New backend R/3 system and extended for the required Porg.
However, when we try to search for these vendors in the SRM portal, we are unable to find it.
Can you all experts, plz let us know
    1. Why only 2 vendors were successfully replicated from the new backend R/3 system? We checked the vendors status using LFM1 & LFB1 and could see many more vendor could had been replicated.
2.Why we were unable to search for the vendors in portal inspite of the fact the we can see the vendor in VENMAP and also in the BBPM_BUT_FRG0061(we have ensured that we are putting the correct Porg ID in the search for eg. 0 5*******) and also we can search the vendor from the old R/3 system?
We would like to also mention that we have same vendors with different vendor numbers in different backend R/3 system.
Any pointers to resolve this issue will be highly appreciated.
    Regards,
    RKS

    Hello Experts ,
I forgot to mention that ,i'm getting following warning message:-

The following allocation results from the transfer.
    Total number of suppliers:                              23.335
    Adoption of R/3 description                            23.333
Can you all experts plz explain what is "external number assignment" and also we are using option transfer only R/3 number
but still why 23.333 verdors are lost

  • Issue with Vendor BP in SUS

    Hi All,
We are on SRM 4.0 with   EBP _ SUS scanario.
We  flagged one vendor as portal vendor.  That vendor is  transferred to SUS  but without  BP number created.
When we are assignhing contact persons  using transciation USERS_GEN system is giving error as :  Business partner is not maintained  for this organisation ID. (  vendor )
Can  anybody  tell me how to resolve this. Do we have creat manually BP  for this vendor and then assign contact person ?
    Thanks,
    Sachin
Edited by: sachin patil on Jul 8, 2009 12:23 PM

    Hi,
As of standard, BP for vendor should be automatically created when you transfer vendor to SUS. Check in venmap table in sus, if you have a corresponding sus bp guid. Get the bp no. from table but000 using that guid. Also check ppomv_bbp if the vendor has been assigned in sus.
Try directly creating a user for vendor using txn-'create users'  in SUS portal. You need sus_adminnistrator role for this activity.

  • Portal

    Hi,
Is it possible to implement vendor neutral portal? I need to maintain a weblogic portal. It's totally locked in weblogic since it uses jpf, netui, etc.. what's the best approach to avoid vendor specifics. Thanks

    Hi Dipak,
you don't find the portal in the system menu as the portal users won't have access to the back end system.
The access to the portal is described in the admin guide chapter 5.1:
How to Access the Portal URL
With the installation of the software component SAP TMUI120, a predefined ICF node is provided which grants access to the portal page.
The URL is built in the following way: https://<server>:<port>/sap/bc/ui5_ui5/tmui/coll_portal/.
If you want to find out the specific URL for your deployment, follow the steps below:
    Start transaction SICF.
    Click Execute (F8).
    Open path default_host -> sap -> bc -> ui5_ui5 -> tmui.
Right-click on node coll_portal and choose Activate service.
Right-click on node coll_portal and choose Test service.

  • [announce] PortalStudio 2.0 with Interaction Management

MONGOOSE TECHNOLOGY ANNOUNCES PORTALSTUDIO 2.0 WITH INTERACTION MANAGEMENT
Vendor-neutral portal platform now includes RealCommunities 2.0
collaboration applications and Interaction Management Web services
Houston, October 22, 2001 - Mongoose Technology, Inc., the company that set
the benchmark for Portal Lifecycle Management and the first company to
deliver a complete J2EET-based portal design, assembly, deployment, and
management solution, today announced Mongoose PortalStudioT 2.0. The
product, which provides an integrated development environment and portal
platform, now includes Mongoose RealCommunitiesT applications and
Interaction Management web services for online collaboration. Using Mongoose
PortalStudio and Mongoose RealCommunities, companies can incorporate
Interaction Management into their portals and Web sites to increase employee
productivity, enhance partner effectiveness, and build customer loyalty.
Delphi Group has defined Interaction Management: "Interaction management
refers to web applications used to cultivate relationships among portal
constituents. These person-to-person web services facilitate group
formation, enhance team collaboration, and empower knowledge exchange
between employees, customers, partners, and suppliers. Interaction
Management helps organizations capture and retain intellectual capital,
reduce employee turnover, increase team productivity, and build customer
    loyalty."
"Interaction Management is a critical component of any portal strategy, and
necessary for effectively nurturing online community and user
relationships," says Nathaniel Palmer, Chief Analyst at Delphi Group. "In
PortalStudio, Mongoose provides the first comprehensive set of web services
for interaction management, within a application framework specifically
designed for deploying and managing portal components."
"We provide enterprise applications to the health care industry and
international retailers" said Brian Fox, Vice President of
MySoftwarePartner. "Our customers must provide timely and accurate
information to consumers and to government agencies. We are using Mongoose
PortalStudio to provide more useful information by aggregating our systems
with other corporate applications in the Enterprise Portal. We are
incorporating RealCommunities collaboration applications to improve customer
support and to reduce the cost of gathering and reporting consumer data. "
    PortalStudio with Interaction Management
RealCommunities collaboration applications are modular WebComponentsT of the
PortalStudio platform that can be embedded into any Web site or portal. They
are supported by RealCommunities Web Services that provide open API's to
gather, store, and act upon person and activity related data.
"Interaction Management is the set of person-to-person web services that
support online relationships and transactions," says Mr. Palmer. The
RealCommunities Web Services are based on the Mongoose 12 Principles of
CollaborationT, and include Identity, Groups, Reputation, Environment and
    Communication.
RealCommunities WebComponents provide structured interactions to support
group goals. These collaboration capabilities can be incorporated into new
or existing portals and Web sites. RealCommunities WebComponents include:
Expertise & Skills Directory - This application facilitates the search
for a person or a group with the expertise, skills, service capability, or
    reputation matching the user's needs.
Engagement & Feedback - After identifying an appropriate individual or
group, the application allows the user to negotiate an agreement for a
consultative or service relationship with the provider and subsequently to
rate the quality and usefulness of the provider's services.
Messages & Chat - These WebComponents provide Message Boards, Chat, and
    Instant Messaging
    Question & Answer - This post-a-question and get-an-answer mechanism
can be a public or private dialog and is used for self-help and support
    applications.
File Sharing & Collaboration - Users can access content from WebDAV
(Web-based distributed authoring and versioning) clients and DAV-enabled
software packages such as Mongoose PortalStudioT, Microsoft® Office XP,
Microsoft® Web Folders, Adobe Acrobat®, and Macromedia Dreamweaver®. Thus a
Word® user can directly open documents that are stored in PortalStudio-based
    portals.
Review & Recommend - This facility enables community members to provide
opinions and ratings, look at what others are saying, and view a composite
score of any participant or document.
Rewards & Incentives - Reward employees, partners, or customers who
participate in desired online activities. The application can be configured
to promote loyalty by providing incentives and rewards for desired
behaviors. The rules are easy to configure and change as business needs
    evolve.
Tests & Polls - This utility enables a service provider or group leader
to ask questions of a population. Rules can be applied to responses to
generate scoring reports or individualized actions, e.g., if pass test, then
update reputation and deliver certification by email.
Companies can enhance their ebusiness effectiveness with Mongoose
RealCommunitiesT Interaction Management applications for increasing
productivity of sales teams, cultivating buyer and partner loyalty,
capturing better market data, and accelerating innovation and time to
    market.
    PortalStudio 2.0 Delivers Fast Results
Mongoose PortalStudio 2.0 is a visual portal assembly environment that
allows users to quickly and easily design portal components, assemble them
into a portal, then validate and deploy their portal solution to, for
example, BEA WebLogic. The simplicity of PortalStudio 2.0's one-click wizard
for configuring and deploying to environments such as BEA WebLogic is
dramatic. Like a "portal compiler," the PortalStudio one-click wizard
eliminates timely editing of complex J2EE and BEA specific configuration
    files.
Other powerful features and capabilities in PortalStudio 2.0 include:
    Instant WebSkinT Personalization
The presentation of information can be customized to the individual or
company standards using Mongoose WebSkins. Users can pick an existing
WebSkin from the PortalStudio library and re-brand their Web application or
apply a custom look-and-feel in seconds. With PortalStudio's
"person-to-system" Web services, XML-based content can be aggregated,
categorized, searched, and cached, served up to various display devices, and
personalized depending on browser, browser version, user, role, locale,
display device, language, and custom rules. Altogether, users can build an
application once, access it from many convenient devices, and be greeted by
    a personal presentation.
    Aggregate Corporate Applications
Corporate applications and databases can be aggregated into the portal with
Mongoose PortalStudio's "system-to-system" Web services for aggregation,
mapping & merging, caching, scheduled queries, and Rules and Alarms.
Mongoose PortalStudio includes WebConnectors for XML, JDBC, JCA, and MS
    Exchange.
    Enhance Existing Applications
Mongoose's "federated" approach means users can use Mongoose's PortalStudio
to create a portal from scratch and deploy it on a J2EE application server
from any of the leading vendors; maintain and enhance existing portal
applications; or embed Mongoose WebComponents into an existing Web
application. WebComponents included with PortalStudio include Table, Tree,
News, Document Sharing, Document Search, Message Boards, Chat, Instant
Messaging, email, and a MiniBrowser with source code.
    Availability and Pricing
Mongoose PortalStudio for BEA WebLogic and Mongoose PortalStudio 2.0

  • Regarding contact person creation from SAP SUS to SRM

    Hi,
We are using Extended classic scenario and we are having SRM and SUS are in different clients.
When buyer, ticks the SRM vendor as Portal vendor. XML is getting triggered to SRM SUS and vendor is getting created there.
Also mails will be triggered to SUS admin. Once SUS admin changes his temporary ID and created the permanent ID and also create the temporary persons. XML is getting triggered to SRM and Business partners are getting created and linked to vendor.
But the issue is, users are not getting created in SU01D and also not linked to BP's.
We have maintained the setting below like this:
    Logical system   XXXXXXXX
    System Name          XXXXXXXXX
    FM BPID               empty
    Role                 ZXXXXXXXX:BIDDER_EHP1
    F. Mod.: Create User BBP_USER_VENDOR_CREATE
    F. Mod.: Change User BBP_USER_VENDOR_CHANGE
Could you please let us know, whether any settings need to maintained to create the user in SRM?
