Verizon won't stop billing me for services they were unable to install

03/18/2015
Hello - I have been dealing with a serious and remarkably frustrating issue with Verizon. In November 2014 I moved into a new apartment. The previous renter told me he used Comcast for his Internet, but I had heard good things about Verizon's DSL, so I decided to try them out, rather than going to Comcast. Note: I do not, and have not used Verizon services in the past.   In 11/2014, a Verizon technician came to my house and attempted to install a phone line and the DSL connection. The technician was unable to install the connection, so I worked with a Verizon representative, a “Bennett” in a Maryland office, who assured me that, because the technician was unable to make the installation as promised, that my account would be cancelled and I would not receive a bill.   The technician took back the DSL router and went on her way. I had taken off a day from work to wait for the technician, so I was disappointed that I had wasted the entire day waiting around for her, but I thought the solution was fair enough, and later went with Comcast for my Internet.
Unfortunately, as Bennett, and, later on, numerous other Verizon representatives had promised, my account had NOT been cancelled. The next month, I started receiving bills for two different accounts (I think one is the phone line, and another is DSL services. Again, I do not and have not used any other Verizon services, so these bills are related to the failed installation in 11/2014). I called Verizon, spoke with another representative who assured me that the accounts had really been cancelled.   But every month since then (it is now March 2015) I have continued to receive bills from Verizon for a service I never used and was not fully installed, and some of these bills have even been sent to a collection agency, damaging my credit.  Every time I call Verizon they promise they are cancelling the account, but then, sure enough, I get another bill.  I am at am wits end with what to do—this situation is completely absurd and almost surreal.   I am a good citizen, I pay my bills and have excellent credit (until now). If you can do anything to assist me, please do. It feels like I am being harassed by Verizon, and this has wasted countless hours of my time.

Only because I contacted the Better Business Bureau about this issue did someone from a higher level customer service tier start assisting me.  They've been calling me with regular updates about correcting this issue.  I'm more pleased with the customer service now, but it's a shame that I had to go *outside* Verizon to get any suitable attention to this issue after 6 months of nonsense.  And I'm not exactly holding my breath that they'll be able to solve this either.  But I shouldn't need additional assistance on this forum..... for now.  Thanks.

  • How to create a billing request for service order that has serv contract?

    Dear Experts,
    Can you please help me?
The scenario is, my client has service contracts with their customer but they want to charge customers not periorically but as and when they provide service (ad-hoc).
So how to bill the customer in this case?
In my testing if I have a service contract (order type = SC) then when I create service order, system automatically picks up standard order type SM01. (which is service order with contract.)
And when I perform time confirmation and material consumption (goods issue), actual costs gets booked to the service order. However, using the service order number as referece, if I try to create a billing request in DP90, system create a blank billing request with no line items.
So, could you please advice, how can I create a billing request for a service order, if I have a contract?
    Appreciate your help.
    Best regards,
    Abdul Rafey

    Hi Praveen,
Thank you very much for your reply. I appreciate your time and efforts.
Ok, these are the steps how I have executed the process.
    - I have created a service contract for an equipment. In the service contract, I have maintained the service material in the line item, maintained price and assigned equipment in the technical objects.
    - I created service notification, which automatically picked up contract.
    - When I create service order, from notification screen, system automatically picked up correct order type SM01 (Service order with contract).
    - Then I planned operations and spare parts in the service order.
    - Checked settlement rule in the service order is SDI.
    - released and saved service order.
    - Using IW42, in SAP ECC6, you can perform  both time confirmation and material consumption using the same screen and also TECO service order. System issues message to say, goods issue have been posted.
    - when you check the document flow of service order, you can see operations posted, and also goods issue posted.
    - check cost tab to see actual costs. (if I want to settle costs from service order to service contract, I can do so w/o a problem in KO88)
    - Use DP90, enter service order number and create billing request. System takes to billing request screen but it is blank. No line items.
    - So, since there is a contract, in this case, am I meant to be creating the billing request from Service contract? instead of from Service order?
I hope I have clarified myself better this time.
    Best regards,
    Abdul Rafey

  • Verizon won't take my $50 for NFL RedZone

After being tempted with free RedZone for a week and bombarded with ads for RedZone from Verizon, I finally decided to subscribe.  I tried to subscribe via the STB, but got an error saying that I needed to subscribe online or over the phone.  I subscribed online on Saturday, but still no RedZone come Sunday.
I tried contacting Verizon to find out why I was not getting RedZone, but just like the Comcast commercial, there was no one available to help me.  So here I had subscribed for NFL RedZone, was unable to watch it on Sunday, and was unable to get anyone to even talk to about it fixing it - just a terrible customer experience.
So I sent off an e-mail, and today I got a call back from a Verizon rep (bonus points for the callback).  She tried to sign me up for RedZone, had trouble, and then informed me that I was not allowed to sign up because I only have the Prime HD package, not the Extreme or Ultimate.
What?!  I'm trying to pay you an extra $50 and you won't allow me to because I'm not paying you enough already for my base TV package??
She offered to "upgrade" me to the Extreme package, which would cost $60 more per month, but would give me the "privilege" of being able to pay an additional $50 for RedZone.  Oh, and I would also be locked into a 2 year agreement with a $300+ early termination fee.  Uhhhh, no thanks.
So by trying to force me into a more expensive TV package, they got a very frustrated customer AND they don't get my $50 per year.  How does that make ANY business sense, Verizon??

I believe that in order to subscribe to NFL RedZone, you must already have access to NFL Network, per NFL Network/RedZone carriage requirements. So blame the NFL, not Verizon.

  • Senior Citizens have been overcharged for approximately 3 years for services that were not used.

The technician that personally visited the home confirmed, while servicing a technical issue, that the FIOS service sold to the Senior Citizens were not needed and not used. There is no need for the package that has been paid for over the years despite attempts to reduce the monthly bill with customer service. The home has no computers or any other device that needs a internet connection. Please help these seniors that are on a fixed income.

Just a friendly reminder, this is a forum where users help other users. It looks like your issue may require a Verizon representative to review your account details. Please visit our Support page for a variety of ways to contact Verizon, including “Ask Verizon,” our virtual chat agent, and customer support phone numbers.

  • I just ordered my laptop.  Do I have to get virus and other protection added. I always heard you didn't no extra security with Mac but when I took my old laptop for service they said I had several viruses.

I just ordered a new MacBook Air. Do I have to buy virus protection or does it come with it. I took my older macbookmair in for service and was told I had several viruses...some bad. Please help explain the security of buying an apple products

First, concerning virus proection, read this:
    http://www.thesafemac.com/mmg-antivirus/
You do not need to install any anti-virus programs. They will do nothing positive, but will almost certainly end up slowing down the computer.
Second, could you please tell us more about this statement: I took my older macbookmair in for service and was told I had several viruses...some bad. I suspect you were being scammed. The term virus is sometimes used to describe "malware". Perhaps what was on the computer was some other form of malware.
    https://www.emsisoft.com/en/kb/articles/tec120308/
Finally, I personally have used Macs for almost 30 years without ever installing anti-virus software. I am however scrupulous about keeping my Macs free of garbage (like Mackeeper, to name one), adware, and so on.

  • Verizon won't admit billing error

Just got the phone with Verizon supervisor. Verizon made a 30 dollar error and won't give me my money back. I have had good relations for the last 2.5 years, but am going to switch phone company due to this incident.
Question: Anybody else notice a change in the way customer service operates? I pay extra money for the great service, but with getting cheated out of 30 dollars I see no reason to stay with Verizon.

To explain myself better .... nope, nothing straight forward such as you suggest, wish it was that simple.
To  make a long story short, after discussion of credit card used to pay a  bill Verizon said at the end that all was good and that "It was like it  never happened." This means all is in good standing and that the settled  dispute left me in good standing. You know, like nothing had happened.  Good. I felt relieved that the problem was fixed.
Fast forward a  couple of weeks. Phone service is cancelled due to lack of payment on  accounts. $30 dollar charge. Verizon said there was nothing they could  do. I talked with finance dept. and their manager. Still they could not  undo the charge, even though it was there fault for telling me two weeks  prior that all was good. They dropped the ball.
I have been with Verizon for 2.5 years now and have always paid my bills. This is the first time there was a problem.
I  have paid extra and stayed with Verizon for their customer service.  They have helped me in the past numerous times with both my Droid and  Razor phones.
But now I must look elsewhere because Verizon told me all was good and charged me $30 dollars to hook service back up.
I  know they think they are right, but after looking at my notes with the  conversations I had with them they are wrong. What makes me want to look  elsewhere (contract is up on one phone) is that they would rather not  give me my $30 and loose me as a loyal customer. Rather short sighted of  Verizon if you ask me... really poor customer service.

  • Billing Customer for Services given by vendor - RRB

    Hi,
In Scenario - Resource Related Billing (PS - SD) for Customer Projects,
we receive services from External vendors & we want it to bill to our customer via RRB.
    What config settings are required?

OKAY, infact there is an enhancement suggested by SAP for handling this scenario, I am  not getting that at this point.
You can also choose settlement process, for that you need to activate Cost center option in DIP.  The process will flow like, Once the cost is incurred to the project, then run settlement for the project for receiver as Cost center.
Then run DP91 for the WBS element. System will then consider the costs via cost center w.r.t that WBS element. (make sure that you have maintained that cost center in DIP material determination area).
    Hope this may help you.
    Regards,
    Praveen

My iPod is malfunctioning and i do not trust to synch with iTunes. This is a brand new library - complete new system install. Welcome to the Digital Age..Any help or similiar experiences??

Depending upon what country that you are in (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) then try deleting that track from your iTunes library and redownload it via the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes.
If you aren't in a country where you can re-download music or if it re-downloads in the same state then try the 'report a problem' page to contact iTunes Support : http://reportaproblem.apple.com
If the 'report a problem' link doesn't work then you can try contacting iTunes Support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

  • Billing request for Service order

    Hi,
Is it necessary to have a revenue in service order to create a billing request (DP90)  ??
    Or
Actual costs in service order is sufficient to create a billing request  ??
    Thanks

Resource Related billing means billing request will be created based on the cost incurred to do Service order. DP90 will bring the actual cost from service order.
Pricing procedure should be defined accordingly to bring actual cost.

  • SOLUTION for "corrupt file/directory" unable to install FLASH

How many of you have run into trouble trying to install or update Flash Player and got the message about a corrupt file/folder at "C:/windows/system32/macromedia/flash"?  If you are like me, when you got it you first tried to install again.  Didn't work.  Then you went thru the troubleshooting steps listed online (i.e.  uninstall, manually install, run Flash uninstall tool, etc.).  Nothing worked, right?  Yeah me too!
Then you got really mad and tried to delete that nasty "Flash" folder/directory.  And like me you found out that the system won't let you.  Like me, you probably wasted some time trying to bootstrap the file permissions to allow you to delete it, and, unless your one of Microsoft's senior techs and know the mythical secret "God Level" access permission code, you too failed!
Then brilliance struck (which happens about as often as that second lightning visit!)!  Here is the solution and it's rediculously simple:  rename the file!!
Doesn't matter to what, just change it and ignore it;  so will the Flash Player installer!  Go download and install the player and it will recreate that directory all nice and shiny and new and, most importantly, UN-CORRUPTED!
    I thank you!
    Olde Greywoolf

Adobe stopped supporting Google, so try with older version of flash and install it manually
