Very disapointed

I got myself an X60 Tablet a little under 3 years ago, and I must say I'm very disapointed in it.
I've had to send it back in for repairs to the LCD hinge, and again for a dead fan. When I first sent it in, I didn't even get the hinge cover back, and they failed to replace it the next time as-well. The caseing is of mediocer quality it scratches with next to no use, the corners are wiped right down to the plastic with very light use.
While it is a good looking laptop with a lot of functionality for a working/traveling person, unfortunately it isn't resilient enough for any kind of work. I'll have to send it in again for the trackpoint as its acting up and It isn't a driver problem. When I bought that laptop I expected it to last much longer, while it still functions I will be forced to get rid of it once the guarentee is over as I can't afford to waste my time with Lenovo support.
The service is less than unsatisfactory, it took nearly a month for me to get my computer back after it's first round of repairs,  and the "Tech" support that have no idea what their talking about and arn't very "Pro"-active, I had to talk to at least 10 different people just to firgure out weather or not they were done repairing my laptop Add to that the nearly 2 month wait to receive it when I first bought it, Seems to me I've was without a laptop for an awfull long time dispite paying one pretty nasty premium to get something that was supposed to be "Top of the line".
I've been using thinkpads for most of my life but this kind of quality, at the price I payed is unaceptable, I highly doubt I'll be buying another Thinkpad any time soon.

  • Very disapointed, SP13 doesn't runs on SUN Cluster!!

Hello, this is the 3rd time that we tried to install a support package in our productive SAP Enterprise Portal (SP10, SP12, SP13), and fails again.
We restore the SP09 backup, and doesn't work also, and now we haven't portal!
How is possible this? We are very disapointed, SAP support can't solve the problem.
I have a published blog with more comments about this:
    http://rafaelco.blogspot.com

I have succefully installed SP 9, SP 12 and SP 13 in SUN Solaris 9, with many problems as well but It worked at the end.
If you tell me what kind of problems do you are you facing, maybe I can help.

  • Local Mac Store visit - very disapointed with Final Cut...test!

Was at the Apple store this eve doing a little test...
    Very dissapointed....
I dropped in a 18 second 1.5MB quicktime file and it would not play on the canvas, very disapointing. As a recent swithcher trying out all different machines, I was surprised it would not play.
Then, I came home and loaded up FCP 5.1.1 on my iMAC, exported a 3 second file, re-imported, added one FX and got the dropped frame rate. Surely since these are faster in some respects than the G5, I am having trouble adjusting.
As a Vegas user, as well as tester, you could apply transitions on the fly and see how they worked or not, in FCP, it would not play one FX without an error.
    What is the bottle neck?

I haven't tried doing what you did, but I notice that the Macs in the stores are setup to reject any changes to their software or contents. There are two layers of protection, and it appears to work very well. Anything added seems to just disappear within about a minute, or perhaps it's that one change disappears before a second can be completed, at least that's the way it appears to me.
I'd suggest getting someone at the store, perhaps the manager or assistant mgr to go over the machines' capabilities with you. I'd like to think they have some level of access. And you don't have to worry about getting a hard sell sales pitch from Apple employees, as they aren't trained that way.

  • Nokia 770 Very Disapointed

I got my nokia 770 two days ago and so far finding is very disapointing.
Some websites I cant log into using itexample this website. I cant set the email on there to aol even tho I can log onto aol mail read my mail that way I am trying to install gaim but when I log in I get missing protocol plugin for [email protected]
If anyone can help me with these problem it would be very nice many thanks

The 770 does not support Java applets (J2SE, Java 2 Standard Edition) as embedded on web pages.
I don't know what the Flash support in the 770 is, but in the newer N800 it works OK.
Hotmail does not support Internet standard messaging protocols (SMTP for sending, and IMAP4 or POP3 for receiving), so you need to access it via the browser. If you have difficulties with the regular pages (e.g., they expect Internet Explorer, ActiveX support or some such), try going through http://mobile.msn.com instead.

  • Very disapointed with Apple Support, MacBook in repair shop for 2 months.

I don't know who to call, no one seems to care. I found no email address for Apple Support or for AppleCare owners support queries. My name is Andre Alves Garzia and I live in Brazil, I am a software developer and an ADC member. My development machine is/was a MacBook 13'', it was a very nice laptop until it started powering off with that silly design mistake that was named "random shutdown syndrome", I could no longer trust my machine for it could crash at any time and refuse to power up again. The machine was covered by the standard warranty and I also own a AppleCare extension plan for it. I took my machine to an authorized support shop here in Brazil, the same place I bought the AppleCare, probably the most famous apple shop here. This was on october 10th... Until today they haven't fixed the machine, I call them and they say that Apple Brazil is yet to send the replacement parts (a logic board and a heatsink), all my development stalled. I am a contract worker unable to work because Apple Brazil can't ship replacement parts!!!!
I am uterlly disapointed. If it was a matter of waiting couple weeks, okay, I could live with that but on the same shop that my machine is sitting doing nothing, there are dozens new machines, but they can't take the parts of a new machine, they must wait for the replacement... screw your loyal customer that buys a new system every year, screw the same developer that made many people switch in Brazil and that was a speaker in about six conferences in the last two years, always telling how good was to be a developer in a apple world... I earn nothing for more than a month because of a simple logic board. Even as I own all kinds of warranty and stuff, no replacement machine was offered, no one seems to care...
I phoned the Apple hotline here and the very polite girl on the other side said that she needs to verify why my parts are not here and that it will take time... time is all I have now.
I begin to think that I should publish an article in a really big newspaper here to make people pay attention how disrespectful apple brazil is with their customers... maybe this way someone will fix my machine.
This might not be the category for this post but I found no category for "apple support rant" and if this category is "Using your macbook" then it fits because I am not using my macbook because apple support does not work.
    disapointed
    Andre Garzia ([email protected])

I clicked on your notice feeling quite prepared not to believe your story, and ended up feeling very sympathetic! You seem quite reasonable and polite and it must be horrible having to go without your machine for all this time.
If I were you, I would do one of two things. The less satisfactory would be to ask for the machine back while you wait for parts. I don't know how severe your RSD was, but mine was quite liveable - it happened mostly on awakening from sleep, once or twice in a row, and my computer always responded to a prolonged hold of the power button and, in 1 gH mode, it didn't RSD. Like you, I need my macbook for work, so I asked the repair place to order the parts, let me know when they came in, and then I called for a repair appointment, and they fixed the computer while I waited. I also waited about 4 weeks for parts, but at least I had the use of my computer while I waited.
The more satisfactory thing would be to patiently and politely keep asking for higher and higher level Apple employees until you find someone willing to help you by a) giving you a definite repair date; or b) giving you a replacement computer.
I think if you decide in advance that you are not going to get off the phone until you have one or the other, and then you calmly and politely go about explaining your position and asking for a solution, and asking for a higher official if the one you are speaking to can't or won't help you, then you are likely to get your problem solved.
Please tell us how it works out with you!

  • ShopBlackBerry online shop - very disapointed

Hi. I made my order for the Passport (qwertz version) on the launch day in the german BlackBerry online shop. The Passport was listed as "in stock" so I was happy to get it soon. Two days after the order I have got an email, that the Passport is not available - first disapointment. I need it very much, so I contacted the hotline when it will be available, nobody knows - second disapointment. The answers from the helpdesk come with a long response time (more days), thats really not good - third disapointment. The online shop from BlackBerry doesnt have the Passport, Amazon has it - fourth disapointmen. Dear BlackBerry ist, it your business strategy to make your potential customers angry??

  • Very disapointed in Lenovo's service on my T430 machine type 2342CTO with Windows Pro 7 64 bit

I have been a ThinkPad user since the first model 700.  I have always liked them and when I have had to use other laptops I found them inferior.  However one thing my team has been telling me in the past year or two is that they do not want to purchase anymore Lenovo ThinkPad's.  They have told me that the service and support has been greatly degraded.  I was hesitant to agree with them until my present experience.  We purchase all of our ThinkPad's with a 4 year on-site warranty.  We have people who are in the field and when their computer goes down we need to get it back up and running ASAP.
Three weeks ago my hard drive started to give me some problems and  one day after shutting down the computer a message came up that it needed to run Checkdisk which it did.  I was able to keep it going and I did have a backup.   I contacted  the 800 number to talk with a service person and they ordered up service for the replacement of the hard drive and also to replace the fan and sent me the system disks for the T430.  Two days later the insight service person showed up with the parts.  The disks showed up as well via UPS.  The service person replaced the fan and the HDD.  There were 4 DVD's for the system disks.  He started the rebuild and asked if I could finish it and I said I could with no problem.  He left.  I continued the process.  After the 3rd DVD it asked to put in the 4th and when I did a message said that this was the wrong DVD.  I tried all the other 3 with the same response.  I tried building it from scratch again and the same problem.  I called support again and the guy I spoke with thought that I must have a bad DVD and he would send out another set.  That set of 4 DVD’s arrived the next day which I was very thankful for.  He told me that they could only guaranty 2 days.  I thought OK we should be up and running shortly.  The same problem occurred again.  Bear in mind that both sets of these DVD's were all labeled for the ThinkPad T430 machine type 2342 which was my laptop and for Windows Pro 7, 64 bit.  I called Lenovo and this time the tech I spoke with said that there was another set of Disks for my machine that should have been sent.  Of course I was frustrated but there was not a lot I could do about that and I asked if they could make sure that they were overnighted to me so that I would be sure to get them on the next day which was Thursday.  He told me that he could not do that, that they could only guaranty 2 day. I called the next morning to get the tracking number which they gave me and it was supposed to be delivered on Friday which I was very thankful for.  That was Good Friday.  However UPS had some severe weather at their hub in Kentucky and everything was delayed and the disks did not show up until Monday.  I had now been down a whole week from my first call the Monday before.
The new set of disks was 3 DVD’s labeled for the T430, Machine type 2342 and Windows Pro 7, 64 bit.  I started the build process.  It continued to work but I made a mistake in the order of disks so I thought that these disks have a problem too.  I called Lenovo and they said that I should just send the system in for depot repair.  I said that will take at least until probably Thursday.  The guy I was speaking to said that I should have it back by Wednesday.  I asked if there was any way that I could send it to them directly that day.  He said no I could not, I had to wait for a box.  I asked if there was anyway to expedite the process and he spoke to his manager and his manager said that the level of service that was on the machine would not allow for any faster service.  The also told me that my service contract would allow me to take it to an authorized Lenovo service center around me.  I said to him that they probably have a queue as well and that I will have to wait for that.  As an aside note we did try service like this with one of our other ThinkPad’s that had a problem and the place messed up the system and we ended up at the end of the day having to send it to their depot for repair.  I hung up and though let me try these disks one more time.  I did and I saw my mistake and the system loaded up the DVD’s properly.  I was getting excited that I could be up and running shortly.  However my excitement was short lived.  Once it started to reboot and expand the installation the drive failed and said that it had to run Checkdisk.  It did and once again there were all kinds of orphaned files etc.  I had to reboot and run it from the DVD’s again and I went through the whole process once again.  The system went into a complete failure and would not do anything.  I called back support with my case # and gave them this information.  The box came the next day and I packed it up and sent it off.  I then started tracking it and it arrived on Wednesday as expected.  Then I wanted to go to the site and track the progress of the repair.  The document you have to fill out and send back with the system gives information on where to go on the web to track the process.  My shows that it arrived on Wednesday 4/8 as expected.  The first message shows “Machine being repaired” at 08:52.  Then I checked later in the early evening hoping to see shipped back to customer.  However what I did see was the following message “Hold for Parts – Service call is on hold until parts arrive”.  Then I kept tracking it and saw another entry on 4/10 at 02:01:54 which was the same “Hold for Parts – Service call is on hold until parts arrive”.  That was of course Friday.  I called the service and they told me that they were waiting on parts which they could not tell me what parts and that there was nothing that they could do.  I then asked if there was anyway to expadite this and the girl I spoke to said that she would seek to accelerate this to another level and that I would get a call from Lenovo in the next 2 to 3 business days!  I said to her that you really mean that that is accelerating it and she said yes.  Yesterday I received a call from an automated attendant, not a real person who told me that they were waiting on parts for my computer and that it could be “5 to 7 business days before they receive the part”.  I could not believe this.  I called again today 4/15 and asked if anyone could tell me the status because the website told me very little.  I told the girl that I was speaking to that I had received this automated attendant telling me that a part would take 5 to 7 business days more.  I asked her if Lenovo kept parts and she said yes but that this part was not in stock.  I asked her what the part was and she was able to find that it was the main system board that had to be replaced.  I said you have already had the unit for 1 week now at depot repair and never mind the fact that I have been without my computer for 2.5 weeks.  She told me that there was nothing she could do and that I had to wait on the part.  That is where this case sits at present.
I am very very unimpressed with Lenovo’s service.  And furthermore there is no one to talk to about it at Lenovo who gives a care.  I really did not know where to air my grievances with how this case is being handled.  I thought maybe the forum would be a place.  At least others will learn of my dilemma and maybe others have experienced the same thing.
I still like my ThinkPad but the service of Lenovo has become very poor at best.  The guy that is my technical manager has had a poor experience of late ordering up some other Lenovo products and he does not want to purchase anymore and these were for new product.  They sent the laptop with the wrong software loaded and then said no problem we will send you a new set of disks to load.  He refused and said you have to fix this because it was Lenovo’s mistake.  It takes time to load software and time is money.  I believe we will be leaving the Lenovo field if things continue.  I hope and trust that others will not experience the same treatment as I/we have.  I wonder if Lenovo will even respond to this post.

I had a real problem with wireless performance on multiple ThinkPads with Win7 until I realized there is a new (or maybe changed implementation) power setting in Win7 which was affecting it.
If you go into Control Panel -> Power Options and click "Change plan settings" for your current power plan.
On the next screen click on "Change advanced power settings"
On the next screen expand "Wireless Adapter Settings" and then "Power Saving Mode"
Make sure it is set to Maximum Performance.
Not sure if this will help your particular problem but hope it does.

  • Very Pleased then Very Disapointed.

I had a problem with the silver bezel not fitting correctly on my phone and the bottom right edge was very pronounced and sharp, i called Apple and they suggested visiting my local store (UK), I turned up at 12:30 and they made an appointment to see their "Genius" in 2 hours, not too long as i had other stuff to do in town, I arrived at my appointed time and the technician looked at my phoned and confirmed it was a design fault and said he would replace it right away i was amazed, he asked if i had a backup to which i answered yes and then proceeded to wipe my phone, he hooked it up for a few mins to get enough charge to swap the sim and authorize it. I left the shop a very happy chappy and rushed home to get it all sorted, I connected it up and was presented with an option to set up a new phone or restore from a backup, I received an error message and assumed it was because the backup was from 1.1.3 and the new phone was back to 1.1.2, i called apply support and asked what i could do, the chap did not know he made a few suggestions one of which was to create a new account on my PC and then log in as that update the phone then switch back to old user and restore, i did this but when i logged in as me there was no prompt to restore, i called back and he said unfortunately the backup was now lost, i was very disappointed, the shop service was impeccable but the phone support was at best flaky

Do you mean that he "authorised" the new replacement? I'm not sure what this means. The new iPhone can only be activated by you on iTunes.
I connected it up and was presented with an option to set up a new phone or restore from a backup, I received an error message
    What was the error message?
but when i logged in as me there was no prompt to restore
You can manually try a restore, and you should be prompted whether you want to use the last sync backup.
Also, did the update to 1.1.3 proceed correctly? Check in settings>general>about to see what version you are currently running.

  • Thanks Apple - VERY disapointed!

Thanks for giving loyal customers the shaft!
I have not bought an HDTV because I have been waiting for the prices on the higher end to come down. I will now have to do the same with apple products, I have been a Mac user since my first computer Quadra 700.
Anyone who buys the touch at the current brice is a FOOL, the price will drop because the product will not sell. It is lacking storage capacity.

  • I was very disapointed to learn Siri is not available in Canada

Does anyone know when it will be released in Canada?
I just picked up a 4Gs and heard its not ready in Canada...
I have heard some posts but have not got a clear answer anyone have one?

Just by looking at the website of Bell one top carriers in Canada, you can tell that SIRI is not fully functional in Canada. Even Apple does not put SIRI forward on his Canada iPhone 4S landing page as you can see: http://www.apple.com/ca/iphone/
    And Bell: www.bell.ca/Mobility/Products/Apple_iPhone_4S
Now, what would someone in Canada upgrade if SIRI is not even working?

  • Very Disapointed in Black and White conversion in CS4

In CS3 it was great to have the hue/sat sliders right there and to be able to watch the image as I changed it.
The CS4 BW window is a MAJOR disappointment.
Now we have to click the color box and click again and again and keep clicking if we want to make minor changes.
    No refinement here.
The way it was in CS3 you could slide left and right and watch the image change while you were sliding.
No need to add a hue and sat layer afterwards.
Can't believe they took this away.
HUGE disappointment in Adobe for having done this to us.

How does the OP's green/magenta colouring equate to your stated red/cyan?
Well, it looks cyan to me. Here it is with saturation boost - assuming the OP made the screenshot correctly, assigning the display profile:
In any case, the Photoshop bug is well known and well documented, showing up as cyan shadow banding in ProPhoto files, when GPU is set to "Normal" or "Advanced" mode.
I'm not saying the display profile isn't involved, it most certainly is. The whole issue is the conversion into the display profile. And it also shows to varying degree with different display profiles - sometimes just subtle cyan bands, easily missed until you look for it, other times more pronounced and with secondary red banding (like here).
It also happens with sRGB as display profile. So the bug is real, no question about that.
What's different here is that there's cyan also in the highlights. But that could be the screenshot - or it could be "just" a bad display profile. I'm not ruling that out, just pointing out that there is a more likely explanation in this case.

  • Just got phone on 02 and set it up an no service whatsoever on my 3gs full service very disapointed

please help no signal on i pone 4 on o2 just got it today

Why are you spending time posting here?  If you just got it today, bring it back to O2 immediately.  Probably a faulty SIM card that can easily be corrected by O2 giving you another one.  If that doesn't work, the phone should be exchanged.

  • Waterproof I don't think so, Customer Service Very Disapointed.

My daughter wanted an android phone that would take great pictures, she researched and found the SOny Xperia Z3v. I read up on it and the first sentence in Verizon's ad was The most waterproof phone avaivailable. So it was time for an upgrade, signed up for the Edge program through Verizon.  Did not even make the first payment on the new phone before it broke. it turned into the worst customer service nightmare I havew ever had in the 10 plus years I have been with Verizon. I also called Sony and received the same I don't give a crap we already have your money attitude.          Like I said the advertisement said it was waterproof up to 4.xx meters as long as you have all of the ports covered (says so right there in the leagalese small print) that means you can not take it in the bathroom to listen to music while charging it, because the steam will make it stop working. I have taken my Samgung Galaxy note, and The IPhone 3,4,and 5 have all done fine in the same situation. But the most waterproof phone failed the test. So beware.....  I ended up haveing to pay another 150.00 dollars for the insurance claim to get another phone after pleading with Verizon and Sony for a month. I thought it was unfair that this ph0one failed the way it did. Then I did not even get the same phone I had paid for in the first place. my daughter had wanted a black one, but the only ones in stock were white, and we had already waited for two weeks for the backorders to come in and were told it could be two to thre more. Never again Sony, And I will makie sure I conmtinue to post. The post I put on Verizons site has already had 20,000 plus hits....

    Here is the official info.
    http://www.sonymobile.com/us/products/phones/xperia-z3v/
    * In compliance with IP65 and IP68, the Xperia Z3v is dust tight and waterproof.
