i am using walkman app 8.5.1.3.2 and have song title in simplified chinese characters. However, the search function always shows no match found when i use search the simplifired hinese character. Is this is a bug?

I got an error somewhere in my code, and I didn't find out where it is exactly. I read the error documentation, but I don't understand it. Perhaps it is my bad english? Could you give an example, when the err would occur? If I use AMERICAN_AMERICA.ZHS16GBK, after I input Chinese characters, all Chinese characters will be retrieved as '?'. If I try NLS_LANG = SIMPLIFIED CHINESE_CHINA.ZHS16GBK,

This is the description:
ORA-01834 day of month conflicts with Julian date
Cause: A Julian date was specified with the day of the month, but the month
day did not correspond to the Julian date. If the day of the month is specified
with a Julian date, it must be the same day of the month as the Julian date.
Action: Remove the day of the month value from the date specification or enter
the correct day of the month for the Julian date.

My guess is that somewhere in your application you are relying on implicit date conversion, i.e. something like
WHERE date_column > '01/31/2004'where you assume that '01/31/2004' will be converted into the date January 31, 2004. Different regions will have different default date formats, however, so many regions will try to convert this string to the first day of the 31st month of 2004, which obviously does not exist.
While you should not rely on implicit date conversion, you could try setting your NLS_DATE_FORMAT to force non-globalized code not to fail when you change the date format. Doing this, however, may cause display issues if you want to show Americans their familiar date format '01/31/2004' and Europeans their familiar date format '31/01/2004'.

How can i get the length of a string with Simplified Chinese?

when i use eventwriter to add content to a xmldocument,there are some chinese simplified string in it,i use String.length() for the length ,but it is not correct~how can i get the right length for eventwriter?

Below is a simple patch for this problem. Using this patch you need to pass 0 as the length argument for any XmlEventWriter interfaces that take a string length.

Xperia l restarts when using Walkman app with internal speaker

Hi recently I updated my xperia l to 15.3.A.1.14.
But after that whenever I start playing songs without headset my phone shutdown and restarting. Is there any solution for this issue. Anybody please help to fix this problem.

and
setting>apps>all>smart connect> do the same as walkman then reboot again

Topics not displayed in HTML Help after importing bilingual (Eng, Simp Chinese) word doc

Hi all:
I imported a bilingual (English, Simplified Chinese) word
document (Windows XP) into Robohelp and split topics based on
Headings. This was successful and I could see both English and
Chinese characters in the topic sections.
When I generated HTML Help and reviewed the output, the TOC
was displayed properly, but the topics could not be found for all
topics in the TOC.
I had installed the language packages in Windows XP.
Any suggestions?

you are viewing the CHM across a network.

Simplified Chinese search in RH9 is partial, non-existent in RH8

I notice the adobe marketing literature states RH9 is fully searchable with simplified chinese character sets but my company's testing shows otherwise. The search results do not pick up all keywords in the topics. In fact, the search results are minimal to the reality of what is in the project. I am not proficient in simplified chinese but my colleagues are and they assure me the feature is not usable for an online help delivery. This is a let down for us because simplified chinese in RH8 did not yield any search results at all in RH8. RH9 is a step forward but not god enough for delivery of a professional product.
Another bug report to adobe is forthcoming. Please advsie if you have similar or contrary experiences. This is not a browser issue whatsoever so that argument won't qualify to address the problem.

Simplified Chinese characters changed

Dear sir,
We are using SAP 4.6B with code page 8300 (ZF). I know we cannot recognize simplified Chinese characters, but we still can receive them and store them into our table without change any codes when our client transmit data from EDI. But recently we started to use webMethods 6.0 to receive XML messages from our client. When they send XML with simplified Chinese characters to us, we found the characters saving in our table are different from those characters in webMethods. We don't know what system changed the characters, we had debug webMethods, the characters are OK before call RFC, but after call RFC, the contents in table are different. Our XML is using UTF-8, and the settings in webMethods is 'EN' for SAP logon.

I think the answer lies in your question itself. Can you try the SAP logon with ZF languange. Is there any testriction for using that? Most probably it sould work.

Simplified Chinese in RH9 topics will not open in RH9 Editor

I upgraded a RH8 project with a simplified chinese character set to RH9 and the topics will not open in the RH editor. See screen shot below.
After clicking off on the error dialog, the topic opens in noptepad showing the HTML. This occurs on every topic in the project. I also had one of my collegues test the upgrade on their machine and same result occrred. I am not sure if there is anything in the project I can troubleshoot or what else to try. Checking any topic properties/general tab, I noticed the edtitor field is hard coded to use Notepad. I do not know why this would be unless RH9 is confused about how to process the character set .
This problem did not occur in RH8 with simplified Chinese character sets. I am going to submit a bug report to Adobe but if anyone has any knowldge or experience uin this area, please advise.

Simplified chinese settings

Hi all,
I am doing a Internationalization project in simplified chinese, can someone tell me which keyborad settings are the most commonly used for simplified chinese.
I have 2 options coming in my windows XP machine in Regional language & settings -> Chinese PRC :
1. Chinese (simplified )Microsoft Pinyin
2. chinese (simplified) US keyboard.
I wanted to know which one is most widely used with simplified chinese.

Pinyin is a system for replacing Chinese characters with roman(ish) letters, so Microsoft Pinyin should be for use with a keyboard having roman (or approximately roman) letters. A US keyboard, obviously, has roman letters. So we are probably just looking at the exact same IME used with different keyboard layouts.
I live in Japan. The IME I use on my Japanese laptop is the same as the IME I used at home in the States when studying Japanese, but the keyboard (although it has the basic QWERTY setup) is different. That is all.
Anyway, why would you need to know this? The OS should be handling everything for you... and since Java is natively unicode, it is just as easy to type a Japanese String into a JTextBox as an English one.

I am using Windows Vista Ultimate English version with simplified Chinese language pack, and trying to install Adobe Reader Simplified Chinese version. The installation instructions are all in Chinese but the installed program is in English only. How can I install the Chinese version on my machine?

Problem in Writing Chinese Wording to File

Hi all
I am now doing a java program to query result from SQL Server and write those results to a ASCII text file (the text file is used for another software that only support ASCII text file as input).
Since records in SQL Server contains Chinese words stored in unicode format, I failed to write a text file with correct Chinese words.
I assumed the problem related to either:
(1) String that with record result should be changed in encoding.
(2) Method to write String to file.
Please help if you have any idea.

Your problem is the other program. ASCII in itself is an encoding, and its character set does not include Chinese characters, so it writes them entirely differently.
For instance, if you try to write the Chinese character \u4F2A, that's across two bytes (the 4F is one, followed by the 2A in another). ASCII will be expecting every character to take up one byte at most, so it takes the bytes that represent your Chinese character, and displays them as two separate characters (ASCII 4F, followed by ASCII 2A). If the other program can only handle an ASCII file, chances are that it receives ASCII 4F and 2A, and has no idea whatsoever that these two ASCII characters are in reality your Chinese character. It's likely only thinking in ASCII encoding, not one that can handle Chinese (UTF-8, UTF-16, Big5, GBK etc.). Any idea if this second program has anything dealing with character encodings within its setup and the like?

It is not possible to get 2 consoles working on one network simultaneously. You can get them working one at a time only. The router is capable of making one internet connection, carrying a single WAN IP. This will be then used when you connect to the Xbox server. You will need a couple of WAN IPs to make your consoles connect at the same time.
To resolve NAT issues on your Xbox, you must first configure your console with a Manual or Static IP. If you're using a gateway, there may be a need to unbridge the modem. From there, log- in to Linksys Smart Wifi and click Security under Router Settings. Go to Apps & Gaming and configure your rules under Single Port Forwarding.

How to input chinese words with emulator?

Netbeans6.8 is on stage now. But there is no downable plugin for WTK2.5.2. It means JavaME SDK 3.0 is offically mature. But I find there is no way to input chinese word with emulator.
Any advice is welcome.

Don't try to jailbreak it 3d party software is not always 100% qualified stuff. E.g., yesterday I've put Russian localization pack on my iPod and got a lot of "surprises": crashing keyboards & iPod apps, crappy not smoothed fonts etc.
There is also no Russian || Ukrainian keyboard on iPod. That's Ok, but adding / changing contact details in the Address Book or editing iCal event is a really weird thing. Why should I use translitaration or write everything non-native language?! That's stupid that localization doesn't include language inputs.

Download report with chinese word into Excel

Hi all,
I need to create a report with Chinese header title, how can I put in these chinese word in my report?
And after all, I will need to download this report to Excel sheet.
I 'm using function GUI_DOWNLOAD to download the report to excel, but the chinese words display as ############## in the excel sheet.
How can I solve this 2 problems?

We need to include CODE PAGE in the FM. This will help SAP to under the language which you are uploading.
Use GUI_UPLOAD FM to upload the excel sheet. This has a parameter CODE PAGE, which you can pass to the FM.
