WARNING: Month-to-Month subscribers

The lack of care at Adobe Customer Service (and lack of email contact) has forced me to post a warning to all users on a month to month plan. Apparently the billing system used by creative cloud software doesn't re-activate your software in real-time. I spent over an hour chatting with 3 different departments trying to get my software re-activated today after being billed for it.
Gaurav S in the "concern department" provided some very frusterating insight.
"Gaurav S: Could you please elaborate your query.
JP: Yes, my Muse subscription I recently re-activated but the software still states the account is expired
Gaurav S: May I know when have you reactivated it
JP: this morning
Gaurav S: Ok. It usually takes 24hours to update your subscription
Gaurav S: So I would suggest you to wait till 24 hours"
Mind you, only the software won't activate, but on adobe.com my account says it's been paid for and is active. When I originally activated my muse subscription it was immediate.
There are two major problems with this. First, as a professional and a NAPP member, I expect that when I pay for a product such as a subscription based piece of software I have acess to that software immediately once billed for it. If I didn't need it starting today - right now- I wouldn't have paid for it.
Second, less important but still a factor, is on a month-to-month subscription you are basically paying for 24-hours when you cant use the software. So you're really only paying for Month minus 1 day. It just wrong.
There should have been some way for them to force the connection through so that the software sees my account as paid. Totally unacceptable for a professional application. I would buy it if it wasn't subscription based, but that's their choice. I'll definately never subscribe to any of their other software as long as there's the option of owning a copy.

KazapCorp,
First, I would like to apologize for the terrible experience you've had -- we'll make sure we improve. Are you still having trouble logging in? If so, please try deleting the following folders:
Please delete the "MBLStore" and "OOBE" folders found in
on Mac: <yourusername>/Library/Application Support/Adobe
on Windows XP: <youruser>\Local Settings\Application Data\Adobe
on Windows 7: <youruser>\AppData\Local\Adobe
and delete the "AdobeMuse" folder found in
on Mac: <yourusername>/Library/Preferences
on Windows XP: <youruser>\Local Settings\
on Windows 7: <youruser>\AppData\Roaming
Then launch Muse. It will go through the first launch experience of asking for UI language, AdobeID, etc.
Please let me know if this works.
Thanks,
Colby

  • Time Warner monthly fee V's apple tv

I presently pay $123 a month to time Warner for cable box HD ability and internet
Will the appletv help me eliminate the cable tv part of my fee
I guess at this point no local news however, right
What exactly will I be enjoying IMMEDIATELY?

I dropped cable two years ago. I get by with over the air HD reception only, with about 18 usable (non-religious and english language) channels (Atlanta area). That includes all four majors, three PBS, and a bunch of old movie channels. Yes, I miss some of the cable offerings, but not enough to justify exorbitant cable bills and lousy service.
I jumped at the new Apple TV. It is a no-brainer for me. Netflix streamed to my tv, plus cherry picking stuff from iTunes. I am also excited about the potential for Airplay. Whether or not Apple Tv will enable you to comfortably drop cable service depends almost entirely on how addicted you and your family are to certain cable offerings that you will have to forgo with the new setup.

  • O2 UK PAY MONTHLY SUBSCRIBERS READ THIS

Today I received a text message from O2 which I quote
    "O2: from 28 Sept 2007 making calls starting with certain numbers e.g 0844 & 0845 will cost 20p/min. Visit o2.co.uk/specialnumbers for details."
0844 and 0845 numbers are currently billed at local/national rate which means if you have a pay monthly phone with inclusive free minutes then dialling these numbers will count as free minutes up until 28 Sept, after that O2 will charge 20p/min. If you make use of 0844 and 0845 numbers (banks, access numbers for cheap calls e.g www.phonecheap.co.uk) then contact O2 Customer Services ASAP and say their recent change in their Terms & Conditions regarding the 0844 and 0845 numbers is putting you at a significant disadvantage and you want to terminate the contract, depending on how much you use the "special numbers" you should be able to get out of your contract penalty free. I just got out of an 18 month contract that I've only been in for 3 or 4 months and I get to keep my N95
Hurry as you only have so long to lodge your complaint with O2

Carphone Warehouse are not technically involved after they sold you the package.
The contract is with O2, if you cancel the contract within the fixed period they may charge you a fee to buy yourself out of the contract or they may insist that you pay the full amount due for the number of months you were contracted to remain with them.
The only way to get out a contract without facing charges is during the 14-day "cooling off" period following your signing of the contract, unless you can persuade the operator that you have special circumstances in which case they may show some good grace.

  • I am really upset because I have a subscription to Readers Digest on my iPad and can't access my issues.  It asks me for a password and ID I don't have and I can't figure out how to get help from apple or readers digest.

Need help and Apple or Reader's Digest are no help

There is a customer service 800 number on here that may be of some help for you (I hope)
EDIT. I had a link that was working and now it will not work. OK - this is really ticking me off now. Here is a C&P.
    1.
Where can I download the Reader's Digest magazine app?
You can download the app from the Apple App Store : click to RD page in iTunes
    2.
How much does the app cost?
It is free to download the app and there’s a gratis previous issue you can sample. Once you’ve downloaded the app, you can buy individual issues ofReader’s Digest for $3.99 each - the same price you’d pay for the print magazine at a newsstand.
    3.
Can I buy a subscription to Reader’s Digest magazine on the iPad?
Yes. You can get a month-to-month subscription for $1.99 per issue, or you can get a yearly subscription for $14.99.
    4.
I already subscribe to the print version of Reader’s Digest. Can I get the digital issues as part of my subscription?
Yes, for a limited time, U.S. print subscribers can access iPad editions for free. That includes all the additional videos, slide shows, additional articles and cartoons - a terrific value! Just tap the red button at the top right of the screen and follow the instructions. You’ll need the mailing label from a recent issue to enter your subscriber information. Once registered, your email address and ZIP code will serve as your log in username and password.
    5.
Where on the mailing label can I find my subscription account number?
As indicated in the image below, the account number is on the second line from the top of your mailing label. It has 10 digits.
    6.
I entered my account number and ZIP code, but nothing is happening. What should I do?
Call our toll-free Customer Service number: 877-342-4775.
    7.
Is access to the iPad app included for international subscribers?
We’re sorry, but access is available only to subscribers in the United States at this time.
    8.
I’m not seeing a subscription option in my in-app Store  - what gives?
You need to update your app in order to subscribe.
    9.
What content is included in the app?
Everything that is in the print magazine is also in the app. Plus, bonus photos, articles, videos, cartoons and animation, graphics, and various interactive features.
    10.
What devices can the app be used with?
It is available only for the iPad at this time.
    11.
Will new issues be delivered to the app automatically?
Not automatically, but you will receive a notification when each new issue becomes available. If you have subscribed to the app you can download it immediately. If not, you can choose to purchase and download the individual issue.
    12.
Will the issues I purchase expire?
No. Once you purchase an issue, you will have access to it for as long as you keep the app.
    13.
About how much memory does one issue take up?
An average issue will take up between 300 and 500 megabytes. With a good WiFi connection, it should take only a few minutes to download.
    14.
If I delete an issue, can I download it again for free later?
Yes. Simply touch the home icon in the upper left corner of your app to go to see all available issues. Tap the “archive” button next to an issue to remove it from your iPad and free up disc space. You can re-download it for free at any time.
    15.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Your subscription will renew automatically each month (for monthly subscribers) or each year (for annual subscribers) unless you take action to cancel it. To do so, open the "Settings" app on your iPad and select “Store.” Tap on your Apple ID and select “View Apple ID.” Once your account information appears, scroll down to "Manage App Subscriptions." Here you can turn your subscriptions off and on.
    16.
Can I share the digital issue with friends?
No. There are currently no share features available.

  • Single-app vs creative cloud subscription

I subscribe to Dreamweaver CS 5.5, but want to change to Creative cloud subscription. My single-app subsc. has 3 months left of its one year subsc. time. How du I do this painless???

You should contact Adobe Customer Service, they will help you cancel your Dreamweaver subscription and migrate to CCM. You might qualify for the introductory promo rate but would need to do the migration before August 31, 2012.
    per the Creative Cloud FAQ
I am an existing Creative Suite 5.5 subscriber. What will happen to my account when CS6 becomes commercially available? Do I need to cancel my existing subscription if I upgrade to a Creative Cloud membership?
If you are an existing CS suite edition or Photoshop Extended subscription customer, your subscription will automatically be migrated to a Creative Cloud membership with the same plan type:
One-year subscribers will transition to a one-year Creative Cloud membership at the promotional rate of US$29.99/month. This price is valid through your existing contractual period. No action is required on your part.
Month-to-month subscribers will transition to a month-to-month Creative Cloud membership at the current monthly rate. If you wish to change your plan type or upgrade to a one-year Creative Cloud membership at the promotional price, contact Adobe Customer Service.
If you are an existing CS5.5 subscriber to an individual product other than Photoshop Extended, you will maintain your existing plan type at the current CS6 subscription rate. You are also eligible to upgrade to a one-year Creative Cloud membership at the promotional rate of US$29.99/month; if you wish to do so, you will need to cancel your existing subscription and purchase a one-year Creative Cloud membership by August 31, 2012. • New download fee pricing

Professional Edition Monthly subscribers can purchase .folio bundles in increments up to 25,000 .folio files. No annual commitment.
So does this mean, for example, that a purchase of 10,000 .folio downloads will be good until they are completely used (regardless of the amount of time that it takes), or must it still be renewed after one year, regardless?
Good news from Adobe today. This will definitely make DPS a much easier sell.

With that said, you should probably check out the SwingLabs - databinding project on java.net. It is still a work in progress, but provides a databinding framework for free. At this point, it's not as mature as ADF, but it's not near as bloated. If you are just interested in client/server database application development, then it should work well for you. Also, there will be a Netbeans module that supports the databinding framework available pretty soon. With that said, Netbeans is a very good alternative to JDeveloper and is also "free". It also isn't near as bloated as JDeveloper is with features that you might not need, and you can always download the module if you decide you DO need it. It's project management is completely based on Ant which is very nice, and the 4.2 release that is due out in November will have a new layout manager that is superior to JDeveloper's IMO. Here are some links if you want good alternatives to JDeveloper:
    Netbeans:
    http://www.netbeans.org/
Demo of new GUI Builder in Netbeans4.2:
    http://www.netbeans.org/files/documents/4/475/matisse.html
    SwingLabs - Databinding:
    https://databinding.dev.java.net/
SwingLabs - Swingx (new Swing components like DataPicker):
    https://swingx.dev.java.net/
Sorry for the Netbeans rant, but these JDeveloper support issues just keep showing up and getting worse.
    Hope this helps someone.
    Thanks

  • Annual Subscriptions rolled over into Cloud Subscription?

I have two annual subscriptions (DW and PS) but  subscribed to Cloud as soon as it was announced. My understanding was that my annual subscriptions would be cancelled out once my Cloud subscription took effect. But the two annual subscriptions are still showing up in my list of subscriptions. Did I misunderstand something?
    TIA
    Bill

Did you get things straightened out Bill? Adobe Customer Service would need to cancel your former subscriptions for you, it wouldn't happen automatically.

  • Adobe sending false information on subscription change

I've been trying out Adobe Create Cloud on a monthly basis. I quit in the middle of the second month only because I don't need creative software at the moment (95% of my work is programming).
I then got an email from Adobe stating the following:
Since we were unable to bill the payment method on file, your subscription to Creative Cloud has expired and we have deactivated the paid features on your account. If you did not intend to cancel and wish to reactivate your subscription, please update your billing information.
Of course, I was concerned, my account was paid until May 8th. I wanted paid services for the month that I had paid for. So, I called support and they assured me that my account would continue to have paid services until May 8th--despite what the email said.
I run my own business, so I wanted to let Adobe know what was going on. I think it highly likely that I am not the only person to get erroneous emails with false information upon changing their month-to-month subscription status. I figured this email probably just has the wrong content in part of the email--an email template probably got copied and not adequately edited for this specific use case. I also figured this was probably
Soaking up support call time with people wanting to know about their credit card and paid features
Damaging Adobe's conversion of month-to-month subscribers to yearly subscribers.
During my phone call to support, I clearly detailed the contents of the email.
Here's what support had to say about these emails: "Don't pay attention to those emails, they are mostly spam". Yep, that's what the support supervisor had to say to me. He said don't pay attention to any email Adobe sends you.
I figure the right thing to do is for someone at Adobe to open a ticket on the erroneous messages being sent to month-to-month users who change their subscription status. And, since support obviously had no interest in these emails going out, I'm hoping that by posting this message here, that someone who cares will see this and open a ticket to fix these emails.
Or, maybe everyone will learn to do what support suggests--just stop paying attention to Adobe's emails.

  • Goods Issue after STO warning "Price change of  % in month / for mater"

    Dear all,
This is my process for Inter-co plant stock transfer:
    1. Create STO via ME21N
    2. Raise Goods Issue from source plant via MIGO_GI
    3. I get this warning message "Price change of  % in month / for mater", details as below:
Price change of  % in month / for material
    Message no. M7306
Due to action taken the quantity and value of the material  are changed. This leads to calculation of a new moving average price: The new price deviates from the old one by .
    Procedure
Before you carry out the posting, you should determine the reason for this difference.
You could check the material line items to find out which postings have led to the current moving average price. If the action taken refers to a purchase order, you could contact Purchasing to find out whether a mistake was made when entering the order price.
Has anyone seen this before and what should be the cause of action? Well, I was still able to proceed with the GI successfully but I'd like to know what has caused the message?
    Thanks.
    Steven

    Hi Manohar,
    My previous stock was 0.
So i received material  100 qty at 20 INR.
    Total stock value = 2000
    Now as per you:

    I am not getting 390,17 %

  • HT204053 Apple id invalid warning -- almost every month

Hi: Recently my ipad would pop up some warning all of a suddent says that my apple id is in valid almost every month.
and i got forced to reset my passwd almost every month, too.
what can I do to handle this situation?
    thanks,

Have you tried to open it with a blank HTML page?    You can create one easily with http://www.barebones.com/ Textwrangler, an call it index.html
All you need is this in your page:
    <HTML>
    <HEAD></HEAD>
    <BODY></BODY>
    </HTML>
If it opens with a blank page, go into your Safari preferences and empty the cache and cookies of the default page through the security preferences and manage websites button.  That will at least allow you to open the default page.   It might be better if you open on something like http://www.apple.com/ or http://www.google.com/
If you have a Google account or GMail account, it might be better if you open off Google if the cookie there is getting corrupted.   Note, 10.8.5 is available and offers better security.  Backup your data before updating:

  • Usage warning for first day of month

Oh dear, I get the following warning for the first day of the month.
"You are within your June usage allowance but are likely to go over before the end of the month."
This after  0.45Gb use the first day.
My normal usage for nearly 2 years has been around 1.5Gb a month, except for May when I used 2.47Gb most of which was in the last 3 days of the month,  the reason why.... I bought a new computer and with all the updates it down loaded it pushed the usage up, hopefully now the updates will have completed.
Could anyone tell me if this is the case or am I in for more nasty surprises as the days pass. (new computer purchased 29/5/12) by the way I am now using wired instead of wireless I shouldn't think that would make any difference though!!!
    Thanks Patty-L

Actually, the BTVision element should never show on the online usage monitor. It will of course show on the hub usage.
This is, in my view, one of the reasons why the usage monitor is done daily in arrears, to exclude the relevant items such as vision and bbtalk.

  • Monthly charge increased with zero warning?

    Hello,
I'm on the "High Speed Internet Enhanced" dry-loop plan, which was a consistent $44.99 a month. This month, I see I've been charged $49.99. I looked at my past four saved bills and there's zero mention of an upcoming rate increase.
But beyond that, $49.99 a month for 7Mbps down is ridiculous. I understand Verizon corporate wants to kill all the copper lines and move to fiber, but my building doesn't have FiOS available yet and there seems to be no way to get Verizon to contact building management to help expedite this process.
At this point, I'm grandfathered into unlimited data on Verizon Wireless and I should probably just cancel my DSL line entirely and pay $24 a month after work discount to just tether and do a mobile hot-spot off my iPhone.
    In summary:
    1) When and where was this rate increase supposedly communicated to us?
    2) Is there any kind of contact form on the Verizon website to get this company in touch with building management to expedite FiOS installs by granting building access?
    3) Is there a direct number to any kind of retentions department?
    Thank you.

I just read our reply to a verizon customer asking why their internet charges increased without any notice from verizon.  It is obvious that you are an active employee or retired when you advised this customer to go to customer spport at verizon and ask them why their rate was increased.  Actually I believe you stated, "our site".
I am a retired verizon employee with 37 years of service.  I actually am having the same problem and I did go to support on "our site".  I gave the rep the dates when the charged changed, advised them the billing statement read, high speed internet disconnect and the date, and high speed internet added and the date, which was the same date.  I advised the rep I did not change my internet service and asked for the order number that increased my charge but did not increase my speed. I was advised there was no order.  And here's the kicker, I was told by the rep, and I quote, "Verizon is a large company and can change their rates whenever they choose".
Unfortunately, Verizon has to file with the FCC in order for them to approve a rate change andevery customer should be informed.
I suggest, in the future , if I were you, not to suggest to anyone to go to the support site fo help.  I sincerely hope you never experience the problems that many of us are going through with billing discrepancies.  I was also advised 4 hours ago, that a supervisor would contact me within 30 minutes.
    I'm still waiting!

  • Late 2013 macbook pro showing Service Battery warning after 1 year and 2 months

    Hey there,
I purchased a 13" MacBook pro retina late 2013 in December
The battery has recently started showing the "service battery" warning. Here is a screenshot from Coconut Battery:
Surely after only about a year the battery should not be holding only 70% of the charge. Is this level of wear unusual? If I were to take this to an apple store would Apple likely replace it even though it is out of warranty?
    Cheers guys.

unfortunately, the batteries warranty is only one year.  The only options were the ones they gave you: buy a new battery (which I recommend), or use your mac on the power supply only without the battery.

  • Iphone warning message after playing on the wrong dock 6 months ago

since using my iphone 3g on a bose dock by mistake - it played music ok-  now whenever the phone is switched on I get a warning that the device is not suitable .
have updated the operating system, reset, multiple syncs, but it will not stop the message -
how can I rid myself of this troublesome warning?

No damage either way. The 'airplane mode' warning is simply a warning about interference form the cellular radio; it can also occur if the dock connection is not 'solid' (check for debris in the dock). As for the car charger, the iPhone 3G (and latest generations of iPod Touches and Nanos) cannot draw power from the Firewire pins of the dock connector. Many car chargers use those pins for power since they can carry the full 12 V of the car battery (USB power pins require a step-down to 5 V). But, it will still play music, and won't hurt your iPhone (just won't charge it unless you get a different dock or a dongle to convert the FW power).
