Weird iPod Touch Images Seen in iPhotos

When my iPod Touch is connected to my Mac Pro I get a hangman icon in my iPhotos library! That's right, I said in my iPhotos library! I also see a few other weird games, such as tic tac toe and dots & boxes. These images look like cheesy drawn games for children.
Even odder yet, I don't have HangMan installed and never have. The iPod shows up in the iPhotos menu as a "device" with a camera icon. All told, there are seven images.
Anyone else have this in iPhotos? Any ideas what the heck it is?
Thanks,
Dan

Let's start by disabling the camera nofication.

  • Really weird ipod touch problem

so the day i got my ipod touch i was really careful with it i pretty much kept it in one place all day and night but in the morning a strang mark had appeared on the back of it, kind of dark greyish with little dots, looks almost like a small fingerprint, small though, a litle smaller than the apple logo on the back...so anyway i took it to the apple store yesterday they told me they have never seen this problem before and they gave me a brand new one....everything worked perfectly fine with my new one and i took extra care to make sure it wasnt damaged or near anything hot or something like that i pretty much just kept it in the same place all day and night again but then this morning i woke up and the same mark was there again on the back of it cant remmeber if its in the same place or not but its on the same level as the other one was but i cant remember if the first one was on the right or left side, but its on the left side adjacent to the apple logo on the back about a quarter of an inch away from it....i hadnt dropped it, put it next to anything hot, it was sitting in the same place almost all night just like the first one..... the apple people are baffled they offered to give me a new one but i think it will just hapen again...so what could be the problem!?!?
at this point im starting to think its a poltergeist

The second ipod was in a different location on top of my wooden dresser in my room, in a one story house, inside the ipod sock, when it wasnt in the sock it was on a wooden table plugged into my macbook for activation
first time it was on top of a wooden table not near any windows, and the temperature inside my room is rather cool
here, in the suburbs of san diego CA, the temperature is mild right now, not too hot not too cold so...
the ipod was on its back both times
both times it took me one day to see it, from the time of purchase to the next morning...
    thanks!

Unable to sync albums from iphoto 11 to ipod touch. Even though itunes shows the photos have synced there are no photos on the ipod. Am able to check the albums I want to sync but it doesn't happen.

I have also tried restoring my iPhone and iPad to no avail. Thanks in advance for any assistance!

  • IPod touch image quality

When my iPod touch displays an album artwork when playing a song, the picture seems to lose quality as in(the picture seems to have numerous dots in some areas of the image);it's not stuck/dead pixels by the way. The same thing happens in the photos menu but the quality seems to be a 'little' better than the same image displayed as an album artwork.
I was wondering if all of the ipods have dots in certain areas of an image?
(I don't think the size of the images really matter)
+ The dots seem to be gone when I view the image directly from safari(not the photos or music menu).
If you guys can tell me if you have the same issue as mine that would be appreciated,
    thanks.

No. The Mac has no magic to impart to the touch over the PC here, because you're sending the same image to it. What you are referring to is that the touch can accept a PSD file (Mac only). This is a Photoshop format. It isn't intrinsically better than a jpeg or any other allowable format as far as displaying it on the touch is concerned.
The quality of your image also is a bit irrelevant too (sorry) because iPod treats all photos in the same way and limits how much you can ultimately get out of it on screen. So a really high res photo and a good one may appear the same on the iPod in the end. To learn more about what the iPod (including the touch) does to photos see:

  • Ipod touch not seen in Itunes on windows 7

My Ipod touch has stopped working. I had a new laptop with vista that i upgraded to windows 7. I can see the ipod (as disk storage) on my computer but when i plug in to USB it bleeps but does not lauch or itunes or become visible if itunes already loaded. I have gone through all apple stuff for clean uninstall of every thing and i upgraded to latest version itunes. I went apple store..not very helpful..said my ipod syncs with a mac but cant do anything because they think it is windows 7! Any ideas, its driving me nuts.
    Stuart

    Righty-ho.
    Here's the theory.
AMDS (which we need for Touch recognition) installs the usbaapl.sys and netaapl.sys drivers on a PC. As well as in the Program files, files for those drivers go into some other locations on a PC. Usually, when AMDS is uninstalled, those files and folders get uninstalled. (I just confirmed that yesterday on my XP SP3 box.) But it is possible for some of those files and folders to get stuck and not be removed by an uninstall. (Confirmed that yesterday on a different XP SP3 box.)
I've confirmed that the leftover files/folders can cause trouble with AMDS reinstalls (they are the source of some "rolling back installation" messages during AMDS installs). But I reckon they might also plausibly cause some grief in iPod/iPhone recognition contexts too. That's what we're going to follow up on with you, Stu.
    let's start working on that.
First, we'd better try to track down where the little beggars live on a Windows 7 system. We're going to have to do some settings changes on the PC in order to even see them.
From the Start menu, click Open.
In the Organize menu, click Folder and Search Options.
    Click the View tab.
In the "Advanced settings" pane under "Hidden files and folders" make sure that:
The "Show hidden files and folders" option is selected
The "Hide extensions for known filetypes" box is unchecked
The "Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)" box is unchecked
    Click OK.
Now we're going to run a search for usbaapl ... I don't have a Windows 7 box available for reference, but this is how I'd do it in Vista.
I go "Start > Computer" and type usbaapl in the Search box. When it tells me it can't find it, I click Advanced, select the "search hidden, non-indexed and system files (may be slow)" box, and then wait for an eternity until the green progress bar up on the top of the "Computer" window has completely disappeared.
What files and folders with usbaapl in the name do you see show up in your search results, and what are their file locations?
Now repeat the search, this time for netaapl. What files and folders with netaapl in the name do you see show up in your search results, and what are their file locations?

  • Ipod touch not seen by Macbook, but ipod classic is. Reloaded itunes but that did nothing

My ipod touch is not recognized at all by my Macbook.  My ipod classic is;  I did reload itunes as described but it did not help. Any thoughts.  Ipod touch has the latest OS, and my Macbook has 10.6.8

  • IPod Touch not seen by PowerMac G4 running 10.4.11

My iPod shows no acknowledgment of being connected nor does my mac. help please

You won't see an iPod Touch in the Finder (like older iPods), only in iTunes (under devices in the left sidebar). Be sure you are using a USB 2.0 port.
You might need to remove and reinstall the Apple Mobile Device Service. Check out this article:

  • Weird iPod Touch problem

The problem I'm having with my iPod Touch is that whenever I press "up" on the volume control button on the side, the volumes goes up AND it automatically locks itself. Also, whenever I press the Lock button at the top, the iPod locks itself AND makes the volume go up by one. I don't have any of these problems with the down volume button, or when adjusting volume with the screen bar.
So I tried to fix this the best way I know how. Just reboot (You know, hold down the lock and home screen button for about 10 seconds) the iPod and everything should be fixed, right?
Wrong, this just caused all the light from my screen to slowly fade away until it was just blank, and when I tried turning the iPod back on, it wouldn't do anything. I wasn't able to turn on the iPod at all until I hooked it up to the charger. Once I did this, the iPod turned back on but the same problem still existed.
So I decided to restore my iPod to the orriginal settings, and then upload the old files. The same problem still existed.
Can anyone PLEASE tell me how to solve this problem, or if it's even fixable?

See your local apple store if its still 1 year old, unless you got Apple care. It's probably a wiring issue.

  • Ipod touch plug in and iphoto opens

Why does iphoto open when I plug in my ipod and not itunes?

Because you have iphoto set to open when you connect a camera and you do not have itunes set to open when you connect the device.

  • How to Stop iPhoto launch when iPod Touch is docked?

Each and every time I dock the iPod Touch (2nd Gen), iPhoto opens and asks if I want to import new photos. Every time!
But I already imported them and I want to keep them (screenshots made with iPod Touch image capture). So why does it keep asking?
How can I stop the automatic launch of iPhoto to ask this same question?
There are no settings in iTunes for the connected iPod Touch. There are no settings in iPhoto.
And I have reviewed past messages suggesting there is a setting in the Mac OSX app called "Image Capture" - "Down load to: Picture, Movies and Music folder" Automatic Task: set to None - but that does not work either.
What else can I do? It is VERY annoying!
    Thanks & Aloha, AW

For some reason it does not work that way. You could always try turning off the ability to open iPhoto when a camera-like device is attached, using Grab.
Mind you, if they are imported into iPhoto and you sync images with the iPod touch, then you might as well delete from that folder otherwise they are duplicated on the touch.
