Wget returns a 403 forbidden message but IE/Mozilla continues to run jsp

Hi,
I have just seen a section of code from a jsp file that looks like this:
response.setStatus( response.SC_FORBIDDEN,"getlogout.inc" );
%><%@include file="getlogin0.inc" %><%Basically this is used as part of a security check - if the user has not already provided a valid login (username/password) an exception is thrown and the above code is executed.
What I would like to know is why when I try to retrieve this page using wget I get:
HTTP request sent, awaiting response... 403 getlogout.inc
18:47:50 ERROR 403: getlogout.inc.but when I access the page using Mozilla/IE it will execute the "%><%@include file="getlogin0.inc" %><%" line and the login page is included/shown.
What does Mozilla/IE do differently to ignore the 403 status response?
Is there a way to get wget to retreive the page succesfully?
Cheers

you need to learn jsp basics.
The code you show here is never executed by IE but is processed on your webserver.
This means that somewere on your page you have Javescript that gives an error. Because Javascript has nothing to do with Java i suggest you ask advice on a Javscript forum and/or check the JAvascript

It's http://mimarchlinux.googlecode.com/file … .8.tar.bz2, just as the PKGBUILD says.
Edit:
If something is broken, you should ask on the AUR page for the maintainer to fix the PKGBUILD https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/openbox-menu/, but the PKGBUILD worked for me.

openbox-menu is from the AUR and not from the repos, so changing mirrors won't do anything here. You might want to read on what AUR is and deal with the issues with the signatures first.

• Need to send a 403 (forbidden) message from proxy to client

I have create a List that contains URL's that I want to block from the user. Once I search that list and see that the requested URL is in the list, I need to send a 403(forbidden) message. Does anyone know if I can just send a "HTTP/1.0 403 Forbidden" Header back to the client in bytes from my DataOutputStream object??
Anyone have any other suggestions I would appreciate it.

You can get all you need from the HTTP 1.1 specification. i.e. http://www.w3.org/Protocols/rfc2616/rfc2616.txt

• Why am I getting 403 forbidden message? I'm on OS X 10.7.5

I was trying to use Ikea's website, www.ikea.com/us and received a '403 FORBIDDEN' message. What's going on?

A 403 Forbidden message usually occurs when you try to access files on the websites server. Are you clicking on established links from the Ikea web site.
The iKea page works for me.
Try resetting Safari and try again.

• 403 Forbidden Message

I am receiving a "403 Forbidden" web page when attempting to enter a website, I did not change anything to my files prior to having this problem and it is a website that I would regularly go to on a daily basis. I emptied the cache in Safari, as well as all cookies. I ran a Macscan. I rebooted the computer all to no avail. The 403 message states " I do not have permission on the server". I located a possible fix from the Apple support site, it is article TA25038 "Mac OSX 10.5: Web Sharing-"Forbidden 403" message appears instead of the website content". In my preferences web sharing was already off not on, but I went thru the steps in the article, which had me replace my user.conf file, anyway to see if it would resolve the problem. Which it didn't. Any help anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Contact the website operators. This issue is usually due to a misconfiguration on the server if you're trying to access a public page and cannot be fixed from your end.

• 403 forbidden message when trying to go to Thunderbird support page

When selecting the Help Contents from the Thunderbird Help drop down list, Firefox will not take me to the Thunderbird Support page. The following message is displayed on the the empty tab:
Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /en-US/thunderbird/20130328110546/ on this server.
The tab name is 403 Forbidden.
Clearing the cache did not help.
I could get to the support page for Thunderbird a week ago, but the search function was not available. A message popped up that said to try again in a few minutes. Clearing the cache did not help.

Does this also happen if you enter that website via the main entry (i.e. remove all trailing path data from the link and only keep the domain)?
Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
*Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
You can remove all data stored in Firefox from a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry (Show All History or History sidebar) or via the about:permissions page.
Using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox from that domain like bookmarks, cookies, passwords, cache, history, and exceptions, so be cautious and if you have a password or other data from that domain that you do not want to lose then make a note of those passwords and bookmarks.
You can't recover from that 'forget' unless you have a backup of the affected files.
It doesn't have any lasting effect, so if you revisit such a 'forgotten' website then data from that website will be saved once again.

• HTTP 403 forbidden message on deployed web page

Hi there,
Since the day i have deployed my web application I am not able to login to the web page.
I am getting error HTTP 403 Forbidden, have permission to view the webpage.
ideally it should have taken to login page and then asked for permission and so on...
What I have done so far?
1. Given all the roles to the said user.
2. Under security relams I have changes the password and tried to login again. But no help.
3. Ironically, there is no error generated under logs....strange !!
4. Check weblogic.xml and web.xml file to user mapping with the server and its role. All looks fine.
5. Downgraded IE from IE 9 to IE 8 in hope if that works fine or that could be the reason.
Screen shot of deployed web page is attached here;
Any clue or suggestion on such issue?
Any hep would be appreciated.
thanks,

Hi there,
1. Its Documaker 12.4, I am using IE 9 for Web Server. While using Chrome the page is getting blanked out, that is yet another issue.
2. Console, DocumakeAdministratorHelp,DocumakerDashboardHelp etc are working fine and loading correctly. Since beigning the Admin page is not working.
3. Seeing the premission error I tried to give all the roles to Administrator in Weblogic Security realms, wanted to see if that works but I do not think with DD Only Security any changed would have reflected in actual file. [Role - Documaker Administrator, User- documaker Pwd - JMS pwd]
I did tried to change password, to see if that works but it was not working even then. Still getting Forbidden error
Then I also tried adding servlet alias to the default URL and see if it takes mr to login page; (screen shot attached)
Why all other default page is working with the URL defined and DocumakerAdministrator not working?
I see in the URL that it is taking to ADF control page, can that be looked for permission?
Thanks,

• I can not access ANY webpage...it is giving me a 403 Forbidden message saying I do not have permission to search on this server, yet, I have been using Firefox for months...this just started happening today?

This message just started happening...I use IE as well and have no problems.
I prefer Firefox and I hope you can resolve this.

Who is your Internet Service Provider...?
Do you have any computer which is able to go online wirelessly...?
Have you forwarded any ports on the router...?
Try to adjust the wireless settings on the router and check...
Open an Internet Explorer browser page on your wired computer(desktop). In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1 and press Enter...Leave Username blank & in Password use admin in lower case...
Under the Wireless tab,Change the SSIS(Network Name) to some unique name.Change the Channel Width to 20MHz only and Channel to 11,click on save settings.Under the Wireless Security subtab,Change the Security to WEP and type any ten digit number in key1 as the network security key, click on save settings..Under the Advanced Wireless Settings,Change the Beacon Interval to 75,Change the Fragmentation Threshold to 2304,Change the RTS Threshold to 2304 and Click on Save Settings...

• 403 Forbidden Error on Inbound Web Service Call

Hi XI Gurus.
We have been using an ID for a while now to login to the XI server to post SOAP messages to the adapter. For some unknown reason we now receive 403 Forbidden messages. The user has the exact same roles and authorizations as the corresponding user in another environment where this works fine. I know it's not related to any of the solutions posted here because using my ID works fine.
We have assigned the user SAP_XI_APPL_SERV_USER and S_RFC auth's for a few RFC groups that the interface will need to invoke. Again, this works perfectly in our other environment.
A few questions:
1) How can we see the error logs when this error gets thrown? J2EE Admin?
2) What would cause this? It doesn't seem to be authorizations at the XI level. Is it something at the J2EE level?

This might be a silly question but the user is not locked?
You can always create a trace in the Java Admin Console:
Traces are used to analyze runtime errors. By setting a specific trace level for specific locations, you can analyze the behavior of individual code segments at class and method level. This is done with the help of the log configurator service:
Log onto Java Admin Console
 Services
 Log Configurator
 Locations
 Choose the location (Java package) and the tracing level (severity)
(for example, com.sap.aii.adapter.rfc)
 Root Location > com > sap > aii > RFC
 Set the severity to Debug (or all) and choose Copy Severity to Subtree.
Run end to end process and check the log file in the standalone log viewer.

• Why do I keep getting a 'Error 403 Forbidden' every time I try to read my Orange

Anyone else still having problems reading their emails. I manage to get as far as logging in but then get the 403 forbidden message. Also have done speed tests on Orange broadband and it's rubbish - presumably it's time I changed to someone else (other than EE who don't seem to have aclue how to deal with people)

: Are you trying to log in to your email here: http://email.orange.co.uk/ ? What domain is your email?
Regarding the BB:
Please post your full router stats. For a BrightBox: login and go to Advanced Settings/ System/ (A)DSL Status. Also post 'Time Connected:' from initial Status page. Full router stats are key to any speed & connection issues.
Try a wired speedtest here http://www.thinkbroadband.com/speedtest.html and copy to here just the "Link to this result:" link.
What exchange are you connected to? If you don't know use: http://www.samknows.com/broadband/exchange_search and post the URL of your exchange page.

• Why does selecting "help" in Premiere Elements give me a http403 forbidden message?

Why does selecting "Help" in Elements Premiere 11" give me a 403 Forbidden message?

I have looked at hosts file.
If I understand your suggestion correctly, I have compared my hosts file entry with the link you provided:

and they appear to be exactly the same.
[PS: Could an issue here be that my version of PE (11) is not the latest version (13)? (Or should using PE11 still permit use of the "Help" feature, without a "403 error" ?)]

Let us look at the hosts file and inspect its content for unwanted/unexpected entries.
STEP 1
Find the hosts file. In Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit, the hosts file is found in the path
Local Disk C
Windows
System32
drivers
etc
and in the etc Folder is the hosts file
STEP 2
Right click the hosts file, select Open, and then Notepad. Open the hosts file's Notepad document.
Do you see anything below the last line in the default hosts file as shown in the screenshot?
(Always backup the hosts file before editing it.)
