  • What is a best practice for counting number of payments in Payroll Run?

    I'm trying to get a feel for what people are using as a means for counting number of payments being created during a payroll run.  I would like to get a total number of checks, direct deposits, wires and zero net checks.  My initial thought is to use the Pre-DME number "Selected and Evaluated Persons".  This number seems to always match the number of persons "Selected" and "Evaluated" in posting to FI/CO.
    Since many companies are restricting use of SE16 and access to many of the BT tables is locked down, I would like to use something that the end user has access to and can easily use.  I don't believe the spools from RFFOUS_C and T are appropriate since it would have overflow pages (2 page REM Statements) in that number and thus would not be an accurate reflection of total number of payments.
    I would appreciate your insight and thoughts on this topic.

    This is what we do every payroll:
    1. After running live payroll and before exiting our users run wage type reporter /559 to get the payroll net pay. They also run Postings to FICO simulation run to check payroll net pay GL account. This match all the time. So this is the first pass.
    2. They finish all subsequent activities in PRD run upto RFFOUS_T.
    3. We have developed a custom report which almost looks like REGUH which gives the net pay details by every payment method and amount to be deposited or paid. We match this report from the output we received from step 1.
    4. Run postings to FICO live and check the payroll net pay GL account for final validation.
    The steps might sound tedious but of a great use.

    I am new to HR. Im not sure what to check if payroll is running and what gets locked. Are the employees records locked during the run.
    I could get into a loop checking if the records are locked, till they get released. This is not a good solution since it consumes system resources. I am looking for events that will alert me that payroll has finished running and records are unlocked

  • Payroll Scheme: Periods relevant operation MEANV REL

    Hello,
    I have a client rule Z017, establishing different
    relevant periods for the accumulation of the concepts in this
    rule to set the various relevant time periods
    I have a problem because, if the periods taken into account there is a
    court, instead of taking the payroll periods, collected as number of
    periods to take the number of cuts that have splits. With what
    partitions are considered payroll as a payroll period and not
    out in the event of cuts, the relevant periods
    should take.
    The rule I have it mounted as follows:
    Z017 Relevancy test for averages        
            MEANV REL  Activar períod.rel.
    Example:
    It simulates the payroll for an employee on the payroll of 07.2010
    you must calculate the average for the previous 6 periods. In the
    month of May has two splits, instead of taking as relevant periods
    6 prior periods that would go from June to January, making June to
    February and May to take it by the court is two periods.
    How can you do to obtain the relevant periods and the system cuts do not take a period as a new period?

    For MEANV period is not the same as month, which means that in case of multiple splitsyou will have to test the relevancy of a period before proceeding.
    Example:
    1 NUM=0     ZERO= & VRPEADDWT&VRPE*
    D-ZRPE030  NUM=& VRPENUM?1
             NUM=*     MEANV STOP
    9=       NUM=*     MEANV REL
    Here you query the relevancy of the period in operation ZRPE. ZRPE outputs a variable VRPE (1 relevant / 0 Not relevant).
    Then the rule branches to MEANV REL or not depending on whether the period is relevant or not.
    As a sample for coding for ZRPE here you are:
    FORM op-zrpe.

    The client requirement is to calculate payroll based on 26 days flat.  I am sure we will face issues in the month of February where we have only 24 working days and month like March(27 days), April(25 days), May(27 days) and August(27 days). Could anyone please adivse me on the possibile problems which can occur if we go for this.  Would like to understand the scenarios in case if some employees leaves or joins in the middle of the month and what would be the payroll calculation.

    1. What is the difference between PCR and CAP?
    we generally use the PCR and CAP for ES groupings. ES grouping for PCR is required for payroll accounting. based on that grouping we usually perform operations in our PCRs.ES grouping for CAP is mostly used in indirect valuation of wagetypes (IT 0008).
    2. How do you run payroll?
    You shud release Payroll for every payroll area, then run payroll(start payroll) by referencing the country specific schema, if the Run is successful for all emplyees exit payroll otherwise you Release payroll for corrections, do necessary changes to master data,save the infotypes and once again Release payroll, followed by actual payroll run. Once it is successful you can exit Payroll for that period.
    you can find the rejected personnel numbers in Control Record(of that Payroll Area). Unless that Matchcode W is empty you cant exit payroll for that period.

  • Effect of creating new Jobs & grades in Existing HRMS system

    Dear Experts...
    We are already live with more than 3000 empoyees with modules like payroll, OLM and PMS.
    Now all of sudden our users want to create new job for interns and create new grades for them.
    All these will be added to the existing jobs and grades...
    Will this have effect? what is impact on Payroll.. ??
    I can simply create them using Job KFF ... but something fails.. Oracle will say .. you did not follow standards....
    Any help pls ??

    Hi Rahul,
    This is a perfectly normal request from any HR user and common requirement in any HRMS system.
    You can add as many grades and jobs to your Oracle HRMS/HCM system anytime without jeopardizing your existing data as long as you're entering them from the standard screens or loading through public APIs.
    I'm not from "Oracle" but I can say that in doing so you'll be following "the standards" and Oracle will provide support in case of issues.
    As for impact on Payroll, once you've associated these new grades and jobs to your employees and if there are benefits/deductions linked to them, then yes, your payroll would be impacted. Whether it will correctly reflect on your Payroll depends on your configuration (elements, links, fast-formula, etc...).
    Anyway, you'll have to carefully do dummy runs and check the cases on a 'Test' instance before deploying onto Production Environment.

    You mean any authorization? Mean other people can't make any changes in it...

    4. Administrator can be maintained in T526.
    For recruitment, we create it using the group APPL, what about for Time, Payroll & Personnel?

  • CPP and EI Carry Over for Canada

    Hello,
    I am implementing SAP Payroll and need to know how to carry over the current CPP and EI value that has already been paid by the personnel in the previous system.
    In Canada all employees have a certain amount they have to pay for CPP and EI, once this amount is reached they become CPP and EI exempt. Once our clients integrate SAP, i need the SAP system to know exactly how much each employee has paid in CPP and EI contributions.
    Any ideas?

    thanks for the reply, but how did you import the results. Do i have to import them for each period or can i sum up all the values and import it once? Also what is the "Old Payroll Spreadsheets", is this a transaction used to import the data from the Legacy system?
    Currently i added a specific period in table T558B and used the same sequence number in table T558C, then tried to use the schema KLKL, however after the execution i dont see any results being imported.
    Can you please give me an explanation on how to import these values?

    what we do in payroll submodule is we find the gross/dedution and calculate the net..these are simply payroll resulrs-numbers
    these numbers need to be converted to  money isnt it for that purpose SAp has provided symbolic accounts.
    symbolic account is a payroll object used when posting wage type data from HR to FI..wage types are not posted directly to FICO but through symbolic accounts..plz chk T52EK.

  • Needs assistance

    Hello,
    I am having problems regarding the music.
    Scenario:
    I bought an album and a music video [the music video & the album both contain the same song.]
    Problem:
    Now whenever I play any song from that album, instead of seeing the album cover,
    what I see is a certain image from the music video instead.
    I have tried syncing it and it still doesn't work. Any solutions?
    [I have several albums as well with atleast one music video, but somehow this is the only album that does this.]

    If you want to check or change: please go to the link other guy mentioned above or use t-code PU03 to display or change.
    The most field important here is Earliest MD changed, it's the period to start running Payroll for this PF(employee number). So when you run payroll for this PF & not put the Forced retro.accounting as of, or Forced retro.accounting as of below Earliest MD changed, Payroll will run from the period of Earliest MD changed to current period of payroll area.
    If you want to check what is period of payroll area now, go to PA03 and input your payroll area to view it.
    Goto list in screen: Human Resources -> Payroll -> Your country payroll to running payroll.
    If you want to check payroll result, please use T-code pc_payresult & input your employee, you will see ALL results in payroll of this employee. Some infotype are really important for Running payroll is: IT0 ( actions: hiring, transfer or promotion or some thing else), 1( your organization assignment: your office, your position & your company code & your Payroll Area, etc), 3( payroll status), 7(Planned working time), 8 ( you will see your basic salary here & maybe other parts of your salary), 14&15( other parts of your salary),  2001( you will see your absence here).
