Who's Who Iview

Hi,
If I click on the link associated with the Room field in the Who' who search list, it is bringing all employees.
How can I restrict this or is it a way I can remove the link from that field?

Preparation failed in trex when using standard Who's who iview

Hi,
I have encountered a problem with the standard Who's who iview, which makes a simple search in the ume impossible.
All users "preparation fails" with the following error from Trex monitor > Display queue entries:
Document ID: /ume/users/USER.PRIVATE_DATASOURCE.un%3Ar5mas.usr, Return Code: 16040, Return Message: SSL: rc=-40 pse_error, Document Status: Prepration failed, Action: Index, Retry Count: 3.
I'm working on Netweaver '04, stack 9, installed from rapid installer.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Just in case anyone happens to stumble across this thread via search, the error 16040 means that your user doesn't have permission to read the PSE it's trying to open. You'll get errors like this in one of your trace files:

Employee Photo in Who's Who iView

Dear all,
I need to display the employee photo in the ESS (Webdynpro) Who's who iView. Please let me know whether I can use KM for storing the employee photos and displaying it in Who's Who iView. If possible please let me know the config steps / guide regd the same.

Thanks for the reply. Actually i need to display the photo in Who's who iView(com.sap.pct.erp.ess.whoiswho iView) which is in ESS business package . Since we don't have content server in our landscape, Please let me know how we can configure the Who's who iView(com.sap.pct.erp.ess.whoiswho iView) to display the photo from KM.

Problem with "Who-is-who"-iView

Hi,
I wanted to integrate the "Who-is-who"-iView as it is described in SAPHelp (<a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/21/ac21410bc3ef23e10000000a155106/frameset.htm">Configuration of the Whos Who iView</a>).
But it doesnu00B4t work. In the ume\users repository there is a list of all users but the file size of each user is 0 bytes. When I click on a user name I get the following error: <b>"Item not found
The item you are attempting to access is not available. Check that the name or link is correct. You might also check whether the associated repository is currently accessible."</b>
And the indexing monitor shows for the ume-index: "2 IN PROCESS, 240 ERRORS".
We have SAP Portal 6.0.13.0 (KM is the same version SPS13).

I think you can solve the problem using the instructions from SAP note 880646.
We encountered the same problem, and as I recall it is caused by the installation/upgrade of SPS13 (which is buggy).

from UserPhotoService class I can see method getPhoto, where:

So I would assume, that the photo is uploaded into the UME.

How to customise the R/3 screen for Whos Who iView?

   I am doing ESS implementation for R/3 4.7 on EP 6.0 WebAS 6.40 with Bussiness Package 50.4.
   The Who's Who iView is showing me some unwanted boxes
in R/3 which I need to remove them off completely.

Hi Pavanmeet,
You can get the IAC component for the who's who and then modify it. The who's who IAC component comes under two themes one under theme 99 and other under 02(i dont remember exactly). May be in the iview you can point to the other theme and check if the screens are coming good.
The IAC should be under the ITS server ( where ITS is installed) or where the IAC components are placed when you download the business package of ESS.
The path should be something like this.
c:/program files/SAP/ITS/../99/filename

Can you please guide me where exactly i have to mention the link for the Service which i have to use from the ITS for the who is who iview?
I am getting the error as
No Service Name specified
Your request didnot contain service name. Please specify service name in the URL path

Are you using standalone ITS.
If u are using itegrated ITS then mention the below parameter in ITS of ur portal system.
ITS HOST NAME: <host_name>:<port>
ITS PATH: /sap/bc/gui/sap/its/

Who is Who iView: Problem with sorting

Hi out there,
I have the following problem: I would like to have the
Search result generated by the Who is Who iView sorted
by two properties, that is first by ume:lastname and
second by ume:firstname.
The search result will be sorted if I add ume:lastname in
the "Search Result Sort Property" parameter within the iView.
The question is: How to provide the second sort property?
Any hint is highly appreciated

Display photo in Who's Who iview.

Hello friends,
           I want to display photo of employee i who's who iview.
We are uploading photo in portal but we uploaded it on ECC 6.0 in infotype 0002. Also i have checked all customization in ptarq. On development client employees photo displays but on production it was not showing.
          Can any body help and please tell me what is the problem.

How-To Guide Who is Who iView

Hello,
I found here in the SDN a How-To Guide about configuring the Who is Who iView. But in this guide consists that the TREX is a requirement for this iView.
Now we don´t use TREX at the moment but we would have this Who is Who iView. Is it possible to implement this iView without TREX and which setting are different between implementation with and without TREX?

Adding Field to Who's Who iView in ESS

Hi,
We have EP 7.0 and have deployed ESS/MSS 1.0. I want to modify who's who iView in Employee Search.
In who's who iView there is field of Organizational Unit which display searched employee organizational Unit. But i want to modify that field.. i.e i have created z-table which stores division / department of every employee.
Thus this organizational unit should display department from z-table created not default value which it picks up..
According to my understanding there is BAPI BAPI_EMPLOYEE_GETDATA which does fetching of data, thus anything needs to be done with this BAPI. or is there any other simple way to do this...

Whos Who iview Search

Hi All,
We have a problem with "Whos Who" iview Search option.
It is not searching the users when searched with firstname/lastname/userid and shows message as "No matches have been found". It has worked earlier. Now, Its not working.
But, when I search same users along with "*" character, it displays the corresponding results.
What could be the reason.

Remove "Change Own Data" link from Who's Who iview

I thought I could change it using Portal>ContentAdministrator. I found the iview in the Browse window in Content Administrator and right click the object but I don't see and edit option. Shouldn't I have an edit option and then be able to hide the link in an editable window?

HI,
You need to go to the Homepageframework in tran SPRO in ECC to do this. Go to tran spro > Personel Management > Employees self service > Service specific setting > Addressbook> Whos Who > Maintain Setting . here deselect the changeown data settings. This should work.
I think you are trying to do personalization on the iView to hide the link. You can create a new Iview and then personalize this. You are not seeing the Edit option because of a browser problem or u dont have the role in portal to do so.
