Why the $29.99 data package?

I have been eligible to upgrade my phone for almost a year now.  I haven't upgraded because the phones that I want to upgrade to, require the $29.99 data package.  I don't like it, but I understand requiring a data package.  But why can't I get a smart phone with the $9.99 package.  There are two phones on my plan and I just can't see adding another $60 to my plan for services that I don't need and may only use occasionally.
There are other carriers out there with cheaper plans but, obviously, their service is not as good in my area or I would have switched by now.  I love Verizon's coverage and dependability but I don't want to be stuck with my LG Dare for the rest of my life.  Are there any other options?  Or am I going to be required to pay another $60 or switch to a lesser service?

It was rumored back awhile ago that Verizon was going to change the data plans around like AT&T has,but again it was just rumor. Verizon has not done anything.
If you really want that phone you'll have to fork over the money for the data plan. Otherwise here is some good news you might like.....smart phones released prior to 11-14-2008 do NOT require a data plan at all. You could get a smart phone that was releasd prior to that date & not get a data plan.

  • Problems with the O2 blackberry data package on my Curve 3G.

I have already informed O2 about this but they claim that I should be used the blackberry support services, but nothing there helps me!
I got my Blackberry Curve 3G on September 9th this year and I put on the Blackberry Data Package bolt-on onto my phone on September 16th. I then received a text to say they've taken £5 from my credit and it will be up and running in the next 24 hours. Its now September 19th and my BBM is not working at all and I am extremely upset with the services and behaviour I have received from both O2 and Blackberry.
Is there any way you can help? If this fails, I shall be forced to go back to the shop from where I got my Blackberry from and ask for their help.
    Many thanks, Jade.

  • Why the basic finish date is not adjusted in planned orders

    Hi, all.
Can anybody help me to understand:
"Why the basic finish date is not adjusted in planned orders during
forward scheduling, but in production order basic finish date is adjusted?
It is look like non-coordination between groups of developers.
And lead to situation, when planner don't see in MD04 when he can really wait material receipt. He must go to planed order and check production data there, it's unusable."
Am I right, or SAP have it's own logic.

    Hi,
Production orders are different story. Since production order is a constant element, they are not created in the course of MRP, basic dates can be adjusted. In production order basic finish date is adjusted, but you won't see for the upper level materials', basic dates of the planned orders adjusted according to the prodcution order you create. Production order is consistent within itself in terms of date and is not dependent to other elements of MRP, but planned orders are not like that.
MRP creates planned orders whose basic finish dates are calculated by subtracting goods receipt time from production start date of the source of requirement. MRP works backwards without changing directions. Meanwhile if any production finish date is calculated different than the basic finish date due to forward scheduling, in order not to violate the alignment between the basic finish date and source of requirement's start date, basic finish date is not adjusted. If it was, dates of all the planned orders calculated so far at the upper levels of the BOMs had to be recalculated, otherwise all the consistency of all the dates is violated. This cannot be done because changes in any level affects all lower levels.

  • Determine the count of data-packages in a dtp request.

    Hello,
in a start routine I need to know the count (=highest number) of all data-packages in the current DTP-Request.
I have had a look to table RSTSODSREQUESTPG it contains exactly the fields I need,
but I do not find every dtp-request in this table.
For me it looks as if this table was only filled in BW 3.5 but not in BI 7.0 or there is another reason why not every DTP-Request is stored in this table.
Is there a new table to get the information ?
    Thanks
    Armin

    Hello,
in the table RSBKDATAPAKID I found the field DATAPAKID, what I was looking for.
But the field REQUID is only 6 byte like: 123456.
In the start routine I have only a 30 byte field like: DTPR_4B34567890123456789012345
In the administartor workbench I can see that both numbers are the same request.
Is there a matching table ?
In the table RSDDSTATDTP the field INSTANCE seems to be the 30 byte DTPR-Number.
And a field DATAPAKID is also in this table.
That looks good, i will try out if it works.
    Thanks

  • Determination the size of data package

    Hi all,
There is simple way to determine a size of the data packages in SAP NW BW 7.x with DTP, where you can do it easy (option: Package Size).
How do you determine Package size in SAP BW 3.x? there is no option Package Size. maybe with Function module(datasource in SAP R3) it's possible? or anything else... have a problem with that.
    thnks for you response.

in start routine or Field Routine Read the source_package like below.
    DATA: WA_SIZE TYPE SY-TFILL.
    READ TABLE SOURCE_PACKAGE.
    WA_SIZE = SY-TFILL.
WA_SIZE will hold the size i.e number of entries in the package.

  • Why the time and date is not correct when I save a waveform in txt format, using Labview 6.1?

I am using Labview 6.1 and my operation system is Windows 98. The date/time properties is configured in the Windows (time and date in the control panel is correct). I generated a waveform using Basic Function Generator.vi and saved this using the Export Waveforms to Spreadsheet File.vi. When I opened this file the date and time was wrong. Only the delta t was correct and it did not show the date neither the time, only a float number. How can I adjust the correct time?

Actually, the date/time is correct, it is expressed as seconds since January 01, 1904.
In order to print the string version of the date/time from your file, you will need to write a utility that converts the date/time to a string or series of strings in whatever format you wish. This can be done by reading the first line (I assume that is the line with the time on it), formatting the date/time into a string, and writing over this information in the file.
The waveform VIs were meant to be used internally to read and write waveform data. Any use beyond that should require you to add formatting and other information/data as necessary.

  • ODS Activation - Number of Records Per Data Package

    Hello,
We are using the default Global ODS Setting called "Min Num of Data Records"... which defaults to 10,000.
However, when I activate the ODS and look at the job log, I see that less than 10,000 records are in most of the data packages.  Below is part of the job log.  If the setting says the minimum must be 10,000 then why am i seeing data packages with less?
    Thanks!

    Hi Fong,
The settings for 'no of data records' specifies how many records should be transfered in a data package to BW for processing .
However added records specifies how many records of that data package actually loaded to your data target .
    This may be because of
1.Key fields:  Your key field settings may lead to elimination of any duplicate records
2.Update rule: Your update rule may have some filteration of records.
    Hope this makes you clear.

  • Task Quantity in Custom Reports Data Package

Task Quantity in Custom Reports Data Package
Using the Custom Reports Data Package how can you report on task quantity?  Neither the ServiceTaskFact nor the RequisitionTaskFact tables have quantity as a query item.

    Hi David,
Thanks for your question. The good news here is that this is a common use case and can be addressed using standard Cognos functionality. Here are some general instructions for you and others who might be reading this post with a similar need. These instructions are for Cognos Query Studio.
Build your report and drag a column/fact that is unique to the record onto the work area – I used TaskID.
    Highlight the TaskID column.

  • Data package and data packet

    Hit
i want to know the difference between data package and data packet .when this comes in sap bw
    with regards
    tushar

    Hello,
Data package term is related to DTP which is used to load Data from PSA to further Data Targets
Start and end routine works at package level so routine run for each package one by one .By default package have sorted data based on keys (non unique keys (characteristics )of source or target) and by setting semantic keys you can change this order. So Package having more data will take more time in processing then package have lesser data .
Data Packet Term is related to Info Package which is used to load data from Source System to BI (PSA).
As per SAP standard, we prefer to have 50,000 records per one data packet.
For every data packet, it does commit & save --- so less no. of data packets required.
If you have 1 lakh records per data packet and there is an error in the last record, the entire packet gets failed.
    Hope it helps!

  • Error In DTP:Data package 1 / XDateX  XTimeX Status 'Processed with Errors'

    Hi,
While Pushing the data from the DSO(0PP_DS01 - Planned/Actual Comparison Order/Material View) to Cube 0PP_C15 -( Backlogged Production Orders).
Getting the Error as : Data package 1 / XDateX  XTimeX Status 'Processed with Errors'
When checked the Long text it shows the same text i.e.,Data package 1 / XDateX  XTimeX Status 'Processed with Errors'
It does not show any further error message which i can point out.
If anyone has come across this error please provide the resolution.
    Thanks,
    Adhvi Rao

    Hi Advirao,
Are you using DTP to load the data to the target? Then you can enable error stack to collect the erroneos records.
Also check if you have activated the request in ur source DSO.

  • Anyone ever heard of the $39.99 data plan?

I gave my mom an Alltel Curve so she could try it out to see if she wanted a BlackBerry. Verizon will not let her activate it without adding on a $39.99 data plan (not $29.99). A CSR told her over the phone it's because she has an old Alltel plan ... I think she's had the plan since 2003. So then someone activated it in the store for her and said it would be $29.99. Well, of course, she got home, checked her account and $39.99 was added on. Another CSR said the system will not allow it to be activated without adding $39.99.
Has anyone ever heard of this? I have activated this phone on an Alltel plan without the extra $10, but my Alltel plan was started in 2006. Anyway, she of course deactivated the phone ... who would pay $40/month for a data plan on an old device?!

    Hi,
It sounds like someone was trying to add the Blackberry Enterprise Service (BES) to her Blackberry device.  She doesn't need that.  She will have to get the 3G Smartphone data package, which is called the Blackberry Internet Service (BIS) for $29.99.  It includes unlimited data, meaning unlimited internet and instant messaging and she can add up to 10 email accounts on the device.  SMS and MMS messaging is extra, so make sure she is covered in her base plan for that type of messaging.  Remember, all 3G Smartphones require the data package.  I hope this helps.

  • Why oracle "to_date" accepts Date-parameters

I tested out function "to_date" as you see below and I see that Oracle allows me to give to that function parameter with textual data type and also allows to parameter's datatype to be Date.
Connected to Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.4.0
    SQL>
    SQL> select to_date(sysdate) as s from dual;--21.10.2010
    S
    21.10.2010
    SQL> select to_date(sysdate, 'DD.MM.YYYY') as s from dual;--21.10.2010
    S
    21.10.2010
    SQL> select to_date('21.10.2010', 'DD.MM.YYYY') as s from dual;--21.10.2010

    21.10.2010
    SQL> select to_date(to_date('21.10.2010', 'DD.MM.YYYY')) as s from dual;--21.10.2010
    S
    21.10.2010
SQL> I entered into Search engine "http://www.lycos.com/" phrase "oracle to_date function" and it gave me link to documentation of that function:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14200/functions183.htm
    and the documentation says:
    >
    Purpose
TO_DATE converts char of CHAR, VARCHAR2, NCHAR, or NVARCHAR2 datatype to a value of DATE datatype.
    >
My question is: why the function accepts Date data types? what occures behind curtains when Date is passed in? Or what explanation there is, that documentation seems to lie?
Also, have you too noticed that the forum has been oftenly down near past days?

Any function that accepts a VARCHAR2 can be passed a DATE. Oracle will simply implicitly cast the DATE to a VARCHAR2 (using the session's NLS_DATE_FORMAT). The same way that it would implicitly cast a NUMBER to a VARCHAR2.
Of course, if the implicit conversion of the date to a string doesn't match the explicit format mask passed to TO_DATE, you'll have a problem. If your session's NLS_DATE_FORMAT was 'MM.DD.YYYY', for example, the TO_DATE would fail because Oracle would implicitly cast the date to a string in the format MM.DD.YYYY and then try to convert that to a date using the format mast DD.MM.YYYY.

  • How to break up data package in CMOD

    Hello All,
We am currently using a standard delivered SAP extractor. However, we have written additional logic in CMOD for this extractor. As a result of the CMOD there is a potential of 1 record expanding into hundreds of records which increases the size of the initial data package exponentially. Is there a way in CMOD to split up the final data package into multiple data packages and send it to BW one at time?
    Thanks,
    BQ

    Hi Nagesh,
We thought of reducing the datapackage size, but that would increase the amount of data packages to over 1500.  This degrades our performace a lot.  We only want to split the data packages that are extremely large.  We dont' want to affect the size of data packages that are fine in size.  We want to create multiple datapackages because if we don't the load fail due to out of memory error.
Like I mentioned in my initial message, 1 record generated from the standard extractor could potentially generate additional 100s of records through the CMOD code.
<u>For example standard extractor delivers the following record:</u>
    1  ABC X
    <u>CMOD Results:</u>
    1  ABC X
    1  ABC Y
    1  ABC Z
.... and so on and so forth
I am hoping there is some kind of ABAP coding in the CMOD that could split the packages up and send it over BW separately.
    Thanks,

  • Data package size

What is the basic difference between RSCUSTV6 & SBIW->General setting ->Maintain Control parameters in relation of modification of data package format.

    Hi,
    Just see the help on
Maintain Control Parameters for Data Transfer:
    1. Source System
Enter the logical system of your source client and assign the control parameters you selected to it.
You can find further information on the source client in the source system by choosing the path
Tools -> Administration -> Management -> Client Maintenance.
    2. Maximum Size of the Data Package
When you transfer data into BW, the individual data records are sent in packages of variable size. You can use these parameters to control how large a typical data packet like this is.
If no entry was maintained then the data is transferred with a default setting of 10,000 kBytes per data packet. The memory requirement not only depends on the settings of the data package, but also on the size of the transfer structure and the memory requirement of the relevant extractor.
    3. Maximum Number of Rows in a Data Package
With large data packages, the memory requirement mainly depends on the number of data recrods that are transferred with this package. Using this parameter you control the maximum number of data records that the data package should contain.
By default a maximum of 100,000 records are transferred per  data package.
The maximum main memory requiremen per data package is approximately 2  Max. Rows 1000 Byte.
    4. Frequency
The specified frequency determines the number of IDocs that an Info IDoc is to be sent to, or how many data IDocs an Info Idoc describes.
Frequency 1 is set by default.. This means that an Info Idoc follows every data Idoc. In general, you should select a frequency between 5 and 10 but no higher than 20.
The bigger the data IDoc packet, the lower the frequency setting should be. In this way, when you upload you can obtain information on the respective data loading in relatively short spans of time .
With the help of every Info IDoc, you can check the BW monitor to see if there are any errors in the loading process. If there are none, then the traffic light in the monitor will be green. The Info IDocs contain information such as whether the respective data IDocs were uploaded correctly.
    5. Maximum number of parallel processes for the data transfer
An entry in this field is only relevant from release 3.1I onwards.
Enter a number larger than 0. The maximum number of parallel processes is set by default at 2. The ideal parameter selection depends on the configuration of the application server, which you use for transferring data.
    6. Background job target system
Enter the name of the application server on which the extraction job is to be processed.
To determine the name of the application server, choose
Tools -> Administration -> Monitor -> System monitoring -> Server. The name of the application server is displayed in the column Computer.
    7. Maximum Number of Data Packages in a Delta Request
With this parameter, you can restrict the number of data packages in a delta request or in the repetition of a delta request.
Only use this restriction when you expect delta requests with a very high data volume, so that, despite sufficiently large data package sizes, more than 1000 data packages can result in a request.
With an initial value or when the value is 0, there is no restriction. Only a value larger than 0 leads to a restriction in the number of data packages. For reasons of consistency, this number is not generally exactly adhered to. The actual restriction can, depending on how much the data is compressed in the qRFC queue , deviate from the given limit by up to 100.
