Wm Batch strategy Configuration

Hi,
We are configuring WM for our client which has batch management as Active.
Our requirement is to configure the WM batch strategies based on SLED during the TO creation in picking(SD batch Split is not active at IM level).  Can someone let me know if i should activate picking strategy as 'F' or 'H' for the storage type? What other settings do i need to make in Logistics general - Batch management - WM batch strategy to make this scenario to work.
Thanks,
Harish

You dont need to activate Batch search strategy if your requirement is to simply select the oldest batch in the warehouse.
Make sure there is no batch search strategy at delivery level as well.
Configuration items to consider:
- SLED active for the warehouse
- Storage type picking strategy H
- Batch classification to happen in background for all GR movemement types (IM)
Master Data
- Classification view active for Materials that are batch managed
- Standard characteristic LOBM_VFDAT should be attached to the Batch characteristics
- Production or Expiry date to be entered during GR (maintain Total shelf life or Minimum Remaining Shelf Life in material master)
Hope this Helps

  • Batch Management Configuration

    Hi,
While configuring the Batch Management through  Transaction u2013 OMCT.
First  at Batch Level, selected the radio button as Material Level and Saved but Request is not created.
Second at Batch Status Management, selected radio button as Batch Status Management active and saved but the Request is not created.
We would like to know is Batch Management activation is Client specific?
Batch Level field is disabled and we are not able to see the settings.
Request is created only when the activated when Plant with Batch Status Management.
    Need suggestions on this please.

Activation of Batch Status Management is not transported and needs to be set
up in each environment separately. As it is one time job in general and is a
sensitive functionality, it will not be transported. In my previous
implementation, the manual config is opened to mark this status.

  • Batch Strategy for Production orders

    Hi All,
I just wanted to find out that what are plant specific settings while implementing the batch determination strategy for Production orders? I have configured Batch determination and batch check for Plant A and Plant B. However, in Plant B, the system does not pick the batch automatically while in Plant A, it does. I have checked almost all the batch settings in SPRO but could not find any differences between plant A and plant B. Can anyone please guide me on this>?

    Hi,
Pls. check in SPRO > Logistics general > Specify batch level and activate status management.

    Dear Experts
We want to maintain batch at material level. How to configure in ECC6.00. Pls help me giving the step by step configuration guide. and also AFS configuration guide.
    Thanks
    Rajakumar.K

    Hi,
    Follow the steps:
1.Field---VFDAT and table-MCHA should be created as a charecter in CT04 and assigned to a class in CL02N.
2.create MM01 and add the class to it in classification view.
3.In mm01 plt storage1 view give data for remainning shelf life and total shelf life and in purchasing view activate batch management.
4.OMJ5- activate SLED for your plant and mvt type 201.
5.opj2- set BD for your plant.
6.create sort sequence in cu70 and assign your charecteristic value to it.
7.create batch serch strategy in MBC1 for access sequence(plt/matrl/mvt typ) create a condition record.
8.Do a GR using 501 and enter SLED related details.(production date and exp date values)
Repeat the above step and enter diffrent values for SLED details.
So now two batches are created with SLED as the charecteristic.
9.Do a GI using 201 mvt tye in MB1A and enter * in batch field(system will determine the batch using the SLED value basedon the criteria(ascending or descending which was set in the sort rule.)

  • To understand Batch Management configuration behavior

    Hi all,
I'm attempting to activate and configure batch management and I encounter several system behavior within SPRO.
    1. Under logistics General -> Batch Management -> Specify Batch Level and Activate Status Management, I get the following menu items: Batch level, Batch status management, Plants with batch status management. To start off with, I proceed to Batch level and select Batch unique at plant level and save. Next thing I know, the menu item Batch status management becomes inactive mode, hence unable to access this function to activate the batch management. When I return to menu item Batch level and change Batch unique at material level and save, the menu item for Batch status management returns to active mode.
Question: Is there an explanation for such behavior? If the menu item for batch status management becomes inactive mode each time I select the Batch unique at plant level, how do I activate Batch Management in SAP system?
    2. I understand there's another configuration under logistics General -> Batch Management -> Batch Valuation -> Update Standard Characteristics is required to be performed. When I execute this configuration, the prompt says: "Do you want the standard features in batch management to be updated?". I clicked yes and there's a background job running for a while. Once the job finishes, the log shows a couple of errors or failures.
Question: Am I doing things right?
    Thanks.
Edited by: Steven Khoo on May 27, 2011 4:54 AM

I am getting ready to active Batch status management on our client.  I do not need to change our Batch Level, but in reading, my understanding is that the first thing you need to do after changing the batch level in SPRO is to run the Batch Level -> conversion routine, that is in the same menu.  Once that is done, I'm guessing that the ability to activate the status management will again be available.
Once you active the batch status management, you need to run the Batch status management -> conversion routine for it to take effect.

  • Process order( batch key configuration)

I need to create the process order by copying from already created order of order type Zi10 .It gives a message " BATCH SPLIT DEVIATION"
This functionn is happening perfectly for other order types like  Pi01 and Zi06 .
I also noted that in item overview of order, Batch Key is populating as X for Pi01 and Zi06 order types and no message appears ,but for order type ZI10  Batch Key value appearing is 1 or 2  and we are getting message "BATCH SPLIT DEVIATION"
I m not able to figure out where the config change for batch key is to be done.

    Hi Sachin,
I have tested it and it seems to be no relation with Order type.
Problem is during Creation of new Order Batch Determination which was already done in earlier Order is also gets copy in new order.
But due to Non avaibility of Stock in same Batch system will throw this massage.
    For example
    I Had Already created Order
Order No. 1100000510 and order type is C002 and order qty is 23809.
One of the component is 100000028 and Required qty is 9 kg.And for this component Batch Determination carried out
And the Batch Determination is like this
Batch No. is A0RM800046 and available stock of that Batch is 9.925.
Now I am creating new Order by copying order no. 110000510 but order type is c001 and order qty is 119045.
and during order creation System throws a massage same as you got,
    Batch split deviation 95.856-% for 100000028. Required =             0.375
    KG, allocated = 9.050
        Message no. CO583
    Diagnosis
The total requirements quantities in the batch split records plus the
unassigned requirements quantities in the batch totals record is larger
or smaller than the original requirements quantity for component
100000028. The requirement equals             0.375 KG, the total batch
        split quantity is 9.050.
    System Response
The system will execute your change as requested.
    Procedure
Check that you want this variance and that it is correct. For example,
So the solution is correct the Batch Determination or do Read Master data once you create the order by copy.Massage will removed.

    Dhaval

  • Fixed Bin strategy level batch

Hei, i got requirement to used fixed bin strategy but at batch level.
is it impossible to do this?
if yes, please let me know
    thanks

In general, the fixed bin strategy allows you to specify the bin to which a material will be placed during a putaway transaction (provided the concerned storage type has putaway strategy configured as F).
I understand your requirement is to place different batches into different bins ie the bin is determined depending on the batch.
While not possible in standard, you can try making use of an exit for this purpose. The exit MWMTO003 may be used in CMOD to develop your own putaway strategy. You will have to activate the exit (a checkbox) in the putaway control parameters in the storage type configuration.
Check the documentation in the following IMG path:
Logistics Execution > Warehouse Management > Strategies > Putaway Strategies > Develop Extensions for Putaway Strategies
    Hope this helps.

How varient configuration is related with MM,Which are the related T-codes for it .How it is configured.
What is difference between material maintainance through varient configuration & Batch management.

    hi
Varient configuration & batch management  are have diffrent use
Varient configuration  is use for the material with diffrent properties  like CARS
material is same but only due to the color the selling price will differ
likewise to keep single material with diff charecteristics  Varient configuration will be used

  • Batch threading Strategy

Please explain on when to use ThreadIterationStrategy in CC&B batch programming?

umm.. I believe there is none.. not that I know.
It would be great if someone could provide one, it would be surprising if Oracle had one from their own, I mean, specifically for Thread Iterations.
What I knew is that this strategy has lived withing the FW since long time ago, it was not part of the SDK training as of mid 2010, though. Was born as a Cobol native batch strategy, and then they created the version for java. I just met the strategy last year.

  • Assigning Batch search strategy to material-batch key

I am facing one strange problem. I am creating process order in COR1 for my finished goods FIN1. I have maintained BOM for FIN1 & assigned Semi finished goods SEM1, SEM2 as a BOM component.
I have maintained enough stock of SEM1in batches. Now i am releasing my process order. For component SEM1, the system is automatically assigning the batch number
I have noticed in my process order, for component SEM1 has 2 items, the batch key is as "2" (sytem automatically sets this value) but also has ths same component item, the batch key is as "1", required quantity is 0
Why? What is the importance of this "Batch Key"?
    Please guide me
    Thanks
    lee

    Dear,
You have define Batch Strategy with number of splits "say 99", so that system will allow 99 splits for a component while Batch determination.
This is a definition basically for a combination of condition type and access sequence in COB1  you can check in COB3
    Suppose materail
SEM1 required quantity is 100 and you have three batches say 50, 70 20,
So system will pick up two batches batch key is as "2"
If requirement quantity is more than 120 then system will paick up three batches and  batch key will be  "3"
SEM2 there is no requirement of quantity so system showing the  batch key is as "1"
Please refer my reply from this thread,
    Material Availability check
    Hope clear to you.
