Workflow importance

Hi
when will workflow execute? while importing the records from import manger.
when we will create & run the workflow in data manager, while I am importing more records through import manger in to data manger.
what are the steps? which step is first?
step-1:To create a workflow first, before importing the data through Import manger.
step-2: now import the data from import manger.
or
Step-1: First import the data from import manger into data manager.
step-2: now create a workflow based on the avaliable records in data manger.

Hi,
Workflow execution completely depends upon Trigger Action parameter of the workflow. But in any circumstances you need to first create the workflow from Data Manager and then depending upon business requirement you have to set the Trigger Action. If you want to launch the workflow on importing of records then set the Trigger Action = Record Import and pass the workflow name in against the property Checkout/Workflow under Configuration -> Options of Import Manager. This will import the records and launched the workflow.
If you dont want to do this then set the Trigger Action property to Manual and execute the import first then manually select the records to be passed in workflow. This condition is not at all related to Record Importing.

  • Workflow Import Created Unusable, Undeletable Workflow Object

    Hey everyone,
We have a massive, 37000-row approval process for one of our applications that we're attempting to move from one environment to another using the workflow import/export function in Workspace/Planning 11.1.2.2.300. The .exp file is 37000 rows and successfully exported from the application, but the import process hung and crashed. Now, when entering the Planning Unit Hierarchy, we see the object that we imported the hierarchy to, but workspace freezes whenever I attempt to open or delete the workflow.
I'm not sure if there's anything we can do at this point. We haven't tried a planning/workflow restart which we'll do when we have the chance, but were wondering if there is a backend table we could access to delete the workflow object from the application.
Any help you could offer to delete this workflow/approval process object would be appreciated!

Reload with FORCE option to overwrite what is there.
Otherwise, you will have Purge a lot of different tables.  Here are some:
    WF_ITEM_TYPES
    WF_ITEMS
    WF_ITEM_ACTIVITES
    WF_ITEM_ACTIVITY_VALUES
    WF_PROCESSES
    WF_PROCESS_ACTIVITIES
    WF_NOTIFICAITONS
    WF_NOTIFICAITON_ATTRIBUTES
    WF_NOTIFICAITON_ATTRIBUTE_VALUES

  • Trouble with workflow: importing photos from Flickr

I seem to be having difficulty with my first attempt. I've created a workflow (as per automator.us tutorial) to import linked photos from the current web page (in this case a Flickr Groups page of which I am the Administrator) and put them in iPhoto. The workflow seems to run (I get little green checkmark-circles in the lower left of each step, and the folder I have specified is created in iPhoto), however the photos do not show up and the count is 0. What am I missing?
Also (related?), sometimes when I try to switch to Automator from the web page or from iPhoto, only the last used application will surface; Automator stays hidden and I usually have to finegle my way to grab part of the window.
    Any ideas? Thanks
    Drelika

    Hi
Thanks for your response. I went to Flickr and examined the links. I don't know much about web pages but I understand what you mean. So, does this mean that I can't automate the downloading of these photos or is there some way I can modify the workflow to work? I'm really hoping I don't have to download 236 photos one at a time!

  • Import a Workflow using an XML file in Tcode SWDD

    Hello,
I have a problem in the workflow builder- Tcode SWDD:
I am trying to copy workflow from one system (ECC 5.0) to another one (ECC 6.0) ? I use transaction Workflow-> Import/export->Export to xml files and import the xml files again, but the new workflow is different from the original one. The steps do not have the same numbering and the Workflow graphic is far from being identical to the old one.
Could someone explain me the reason of this problem in detail and how it could be solved? It's really a big workflow and would need to avoid creating it manually.
Thank you very much for your help.
    Best regards,
    Sylvain

    Hello,
The main problem that I had with the steps is that most names were not the same as the old Workflow. Instead of having the correct description I had some coding commands which created a bunch of errors when I tried to perform the syntax check.
I believe you are right. In the new system (ECC 6.0) I do not have the Business Engineering objects like the tasks "TS....". I will create them first and try the Workflow import again after.
I will let you know if it corrected the error or not.
    Best regards,
    Sylvain

  • Not able to import visio 2013 workflow in sharepoint designer 2013

    Hi,
I have installed SharePoint 2013 trial version. I have designed a workflow in Visio 2013. Now trying to import that Visio workflow in Sharepoint Designer, but import  option is only enable for 2010 Visio workflow. I have installed workflow Manager 1.0

Do you have SharePoint Workflow 2013 option in Platform Type dropdown list?
Please check if you have configure Workflow 2013 for your SharePoint environment.

  • Importing to Specific Library

I want to be able to import audiobooks into a audiobook file in my itunes library. I can only get the files to import into my music folder. Is there anyway to either import straight into the audiobooks folder or move from the music folder to the audiobook folder in the library?

iPhoto had some big advantages in having the ability to support fancy export abilities (e.g. nicer photobooks, better abilities to print, etc.)
If you still feel this is the case, (and I don't think so) then you can share your Aperture Previews with iPhoto.
It also worked well with the concept of multiple databases, especially when used with iPhoto Library Manager.
As can Aperture, and now, after AP3, you don't even have to quit to change Library.
Workflow: Import to Aperture. It does everything that iPhoto does, and a whole lot more. No need to use multiple Libraries. Use Projects to for each, well, project and so on.

    Hi,
Take the reference of another system of those tasks and modify as it is.
And for Workflow Take Export the Workflow to XML using SWDD Tcode in another system and import the same using SWDD into the existing system.
    In SWDD Tcode ==>
Step 1: Workflow-->Import/Export-->Export to XML File    " Export to XML file of the workflow which is in another system
Step 2: Workflow-->Import/Export-->Import from XML File " Import From XML file of the workflow which is in another system to current system

  • Footnotes and notecalls in XML workflow for InDesign

I'm a french typesetter working on a project using XML workflow with a large number of footnotes. I have been searching for hours the right way to prepare the XML workflow so I would get all the notecalls and footnotes once the workflow imported in my InDesign file. Thanks in advance to any helping hand.

I wish I could express myself in another language as well as you handle English -- and my bread and butter is typesetting text that is challenging linguistically.
However, I also like to think of my work as setting type, and because I associate XML with robot formatting I am inherently biased against it.  Perhaps I'll learn better, but currently I'm not a good source for information on XML.
Still, as I see it XML attempts to come up with a single source for output in various formats.  InDesign is really good for making PDF's ready for the press or for distribution electronically: it defines documents in terms of pages and offers precise control over what goes where on every page.  This is very important in my work, scholarly material that generally includes linguistic oddities requiring absolute control over fonts.  Meanwhile, footnotes -- which of course assume there are pages at whose foot they can sit -- have always been an afterthought in ID, omitted from early versions, and still the subject of many complaints for their inflexibility.
    Thus two early questions are:
Is InDesign footnoting capable of doing what you need?  My guess is yes so long as you can tweak in ID; but if not then whoever gets tasked with using the masters you develop may not appreciate having to string a separate story of footnotes by hand across the bottoms of pages.
Do you need to get from ID back to XML?  I've already mentioned that getting ID footnotes back into XML is a significant issue, but there are other factors: if you use ID PDFs for proofing but the ID files are not going back to XML then corrections must be made to both the XML and ID files.  And whether or not you export ID back to XML you get to figure out which ID tweaks are needed in the XML.
Software manuals tend to explain what the software can do and omit discussion of what one might wish it could do.  One of the things I appreciate about Dorothy J. Hoskins's brief 2013 book XML and InDesign is her chapter "What InDesign Cannot Do (or Do Well) with XML," though she this isn't the only place she discusses philosophical conflicts between ID and XML.  She also touches on the value of XSLT transformations and scripting for wrangling XML, and mentions useful tidbits about Maidvald’s book since its 2007 publication.
    Good luck!

  • Workflow should trigger through portal.

    Hi Experts,
      I am new to workflow.
I have a requirement to trigger workflow through portal.
This is basically to automate the reimbursement process.
When the user submits the form it should go for approval to the managers

I want to know how we can do this, is there any standard workflow or we should   customize the workflow. Can this be done only through portal alone .
Please give me a clear idea how to proceed.

  • Download/Upload of  Workflow Business Objects

    Hi experts,
Do you know if there is a way to download/upload workflow business objects, tasks, events, etc, from a SAP system to a diferent one?
    Thanks in advance,
    Raphael Xavier

    Hi Raphael,
yes you can download and upload workflows to/ from different systems.
To do that go to SWDD, Workflow -> Import/Export -> Export to XML file.
Now in the recipient system, go to SWDD, Workflow -> Import/Export -> Import from XML file.
There is a limitation to this approach. All customizing chnages like start conditions, etc would not get copied from one system to another, only the basic template is copied (tasks, container etc).
Best approach is to move the workbench and customizing TRs from one system to another.
    Hope this helps!
    Regards,
    Saumya

  • Export and then import those images in one step?

I'm slightly annoyed that every time I want to use the export function to create jpeg versions of images, I then have to do the extra step of importing those jpegs into my catalog. Is there some way to do this in one step?
If I need .tiff's of .psd's, I just use the edit in photoshop function, because that has the option to automatically stack with original, but there is no option that I can find for other formats.
    Thanks

Right, then until 2.0 comes out, I'll try the watched folder idea that John suggests. Yea, I was talking about raw files, but also psds or really any "digital neg".
As for the workflow import-process-export, and the final product not needing to be re-imported because it theoretically needs no more processing, this would be fine if one used lightroom to organize digital negs and bridge to organize absolutely everything, including final versions for various media, but I'm glad that adobe has realized that at least some of us use are trying to use lightroom without opening bridge a lot of the time. Although I haven't even tried using bridge that much, maybe there are advantages over lightroom as a central depository.

  • Image management workflow.

    Hi
I've been using Aperture for a while now and I generally import to the AP library then archive to a separate drive and/or DVD.
I am about to go on a job and want to produce a streamlined workflow for the file management. Basically we will be using my clients Laptop with AP but I will need all the images transferred onto my iMac when the job is complete so that I can finish the image processing/tweaking. Also I would like a back-up of the images on two separate hard drives as the job progresses.
If this is enough info could someone explain the best workflow ie referenced masters, exporting projects etc
    Thanks in advance.

Steve or other person of knowledge,
I read your response with interest. You seem to think that the ratings will export from AP and the re-import... That for me is very interesting. I have tried this between AP and iPhoto and between those two it unfortunately does not seem to work or I am doing something wrong. Do you have any insights as to why this would be and how I could resolve this?
    Why?...:
I am trialing Aperture (strictly as an amature) to use it for managing the workflow (importing RAW off D80 while renaming, rejecting, rating, key-wording and adjusting some for lighting problems). The filed RAW images to that point become the originals archive.
Then I would like to export anything rated 3 star or higher to iPhoto as a <1mb JPG for use by the rest of the family on the MAC or Apple TV etc. The problem with the transfer to iPhoto is that the ratings get lost and the smartfolders don't pick up the right images.
You may ask: why not use AP full stop. Answer: maybe I should, but I like the iPhoto simplicity and especially the way it works with events. Also family use of that does not threaten the AP library.
Can you help with this, even if it means advising I am doing things in the wrong way.
    Many thanks, Floor

  • Huge problems importing CS5 Flash SWFs to After Effects

It seems that anytime I include text into my Flash file in CS5, I am alerted that the text layout has been exported to an external file,  at which point it will not be imported correctly with any animation in After Effects.  I've read that this has something to do with the new CS5 TLF mode.
What is the work around with this?  All other versions of Flash imports my swfs flashlessly, why is CS5 so difficult to?
I posted this on the Flash forums six months ago, and the post was completely ignored.  I even bumped it up a couple times.  I'm going to see if maybe the AE forums may have an idea about this.

I'm not too savvy on TLF but Adobe implemented it as an option to allow multi-column layouts in Flash which would be compatible
    better with InDesign workflows (Import/Export).
What you can do is make sure your text is set to Classic Text for all of your text fields unless you have a need to use TLF.
But I'm sure someone else will chime in with the correct response to this issue as there are times when you cannot do without TLF and you will still want to export to AE.
