Workforce Planning - Editing Existing Employee Data

Has anyone ever received the message "Unable to load the following resource: Members update failed" after trying to save a change in the "Edit Employee" form in Workforce planning? I have been receiving this message for any changes that are made. I checked to see if the outline or other objects in EAS were locked and they are not. I would appreciate any thoughts. Thanks!!

Did you ever fix this problem? I am receiving the same error. Thanks in advance.

  • Workforce Planning: Relation between Employee and Entity dimension

    Hi,
    I was looking at the Workforce Planning module and the hierarchy/forms/rules that come built with it. One of the major points I noted was that the forms showed data for all employees (with a suppress missing data condition applied) so only those employees showed up against a particular entity for whom there was data.
    I was just curious if accidentally a user enters any data for a particular employee against an incorrect location (maybe using the excel add-in), this will show the associated costs for that employee for the wrong entity.
    Is there any way that I can create a relationship against these two dimensions which can restrict employees to a particular entity member?

    Hi All,
    Is there a role I can assign so that a manager who log into portal, can view all the employees and just not the directly reporting employee.
    This user is outside the SAP and should be able to see and modify all employees data in the entire company under diffrent org units
    Any hints on doiing this would be appreciated
    I understand if I assign MSS Manager role to a manager he can just view all the employess who report to him and not all the employees.

    Hi Sarvan,
    it's just a question of customizing in the HCM Backend. In the portal you can use the standard MSS role coming with the Business Package (or a changed copy). But, the person in question here has to have a user in the backend and an according position in the organizational structure.

  • Distribute new entries against existing reference data, Integrated Planning

    Dear Experts,
    Within IP, I struggle with how to distribute new entries against existing reference data.
    Example:
    Reference data:
    Product   /   Customer   /   amount
    P1               C1                  100
    P1               C2                  150
    P2               C2                  120
    P2               C3                  100
    New data:(data entered on product level, therefore not assigd to customer yet)
    P3          #                    150
    How can I distribute product P3 to Customers with reference to the data on product P1 ?

    This documentation indeed indicates that you can use other characteristic values in the parameter group to be used for reference, good news !, but this is based on SAP-BPS ?
    The SAP-BW IP documentationn does not include this information can you confirm this solution works for Integrated Planning using the conditions within the function distribute with reference data ?

  • Hyperion Workforce Planning - 100K employees - 11.1.2.2

    Hi to all,
    I am facing quite a challenge on this one. My clients requirements for a budget/simulation employee application is to load all existing employees into Hyperion workforce Planning.
    I know it sound odd loading all the 100K employees from Peoplesoft, I finished installing Workforce, next step is to start stress testing by loading 10K employees,20K etc.
    Any of you has similar experiences with large employee numbers? Any Issues with the existing employees forms?
    Please share your thoughts.

    If it is the default admin account then there shouldn't be a problem because the native SID should stay the same.
    If it is a different native admin account then this will change and you would have to update it in the HSP_USERS table.
    Sometimes it is easier to log into planning on the source environment, update the application owner to be admin, create an application on your target environment with admin, then migrate.
    Once the migration has finished you can always change the application owner to another admin account.

  • BP: can't edit "user name" field in section "employee data"

    Transaction -  BP, tab - identification, Change in BP role - employee.
    why i can't edit "user name" field in section "employee data"?
    Field is unchangeable only for one in a  ~800 BPs.

    Earlier it is possible to change the User ID field.
    Guess that this might be ur prb
    If this BP is used somewhere else I mean in some transaction/CRMD_ORDER/Support message,so it might be not possible to change this now....becuase the log will become incosistent.
    for e.g. if in ticket XXXX i have been assigned as reporter as...BP no 10
    Later you are assigning this to no 10 to some other person or ID ....
    Then the log of CRMD_ORDER or ticket will become inconsistent because the BP is now assigned to a different person who never worked on the same.
    Actualy i have faced this query during one implementation that why we are able to change the UserID of existing BP even if it is used in some transaction/message.
    Might be this is a new correction in the recent release.

  • Maintain number range interval for master data upload for existing employee

    Hi  Experts,
    1)I have the scenario to upload additional data for existing employees in PA. Employees are already existed in SAP HR , But additional Infotypes are required to maintain for those emploees
    2) I have the senario where i have to upload master data for new employees.
    Pls give the detailed description of how to maintain number range interval i.e. External or Internal for upload in both the above scenario. Do we have to maintain number range manually in master data record & then upload it Through BDC or LSMW?

    Yes Mr. Patil...
    For existing employees
    you need to execute HIRING ACTION Through BDC with External number range. While recording you have to use atleast three infotype i.e. IT0000,IT0001,IT0002. In addition you can upload other infotype through PA30.
    For new employees
    While configuration you can create another number range as internal  for new hiring. and use NUMKR feature as well.
    Here I don't understand that why r u looking for upload process for new hiring, if it is not mass hiring. It should be day to day activities which would be done by user through PA40.

    I am doing the activity confirmation in the project by transferring the data from CATs. However in order to maintain the data in CAT2 we have to copy the data from workforce planning.
    currently it is not happening. The data is not getting copied in CAT2.

    Hi,
    for Workforce Planning, we add all the client's employees in the Employee dimension.
    But the employee number is about 20,000.
    i am really worried about the performance.
    can anyone help to confirm that we can add 20,000 employees in planning and it is viable.

    Don't worry about those numbers. Keep in mind not to make a flat hierarchy, try to add them in a hierarchical way, if nothing is there then use A then AB and arrange the users with AB under it.

  • How to reverse the end date on Oracle Standard Benefits plan for a employee

    Hi,
    We tried to end date a medical benefit plan for an employee but did it wrong. It should show end dated 31-JAN-2010 and then we wanted to add a new plan starting from '01-FEB-2010'. But we wrongly end-dated as on 31-DEC-2010.
    Can anyone help me to identifiy how to remove the wrong end date from the benefit plan for the employee..

    If you are using life events, just backout the life event and the end-date will go away. then create a fresh life event and make necessary changes.

    Hi Rameshwar,
    The process and approach may differ organization to organization.
    However, let me tell you what process we follow -
    1.     Whenever the New employee or User joins organization it is automatically updated in the Idm (Identity management system). Hope you are aware of this application.
    2.     The User who wants access to SRM as the end user will apply for the specified roles (Portal roles for Portal access & SAP roles for shopping) through Idm. The Idm is connected to the SRM system and whenever there is a addition / change/ update in Idm it will also update the SRM system.
    3.     Only for SAP Approver roles we have WORKFLOW setup in Idm.So that the user is created in the SRM system with specified approver roles only after approval is completed in Idm.
    For Requester role there is normal workflow.
    4. Once it is approved, the user is created in the SRM system and we can check in SU01D
    5.     This is User creation centrally. However, if you have admin access you can also directly create in SRM using SU01 transaction.
    6.     Once the user is created with specified roles, we need to manually put the user in PPOMA orgnaization strcuture.
    7.    Same procedure is followed when the employee is left the organization.
    8. Throught IDm we remove all the authorization to SRM. however the user gets deleted in SRM but the Assignment still remains in the PPOMA. Which the consultant has to delete it manually.
    9. Hope this process helps you in some way.

    Hi,
    For creating Employee dimension and associating the attributes like Race, Gender etc to the employee.
    Step 1 :First create the attribute dimension with the members in the planning application for Race, gender etc and associate them to Employee Dimension.
    step 2: Create the .csv for the 1000 employee to load that in the planning application.
    That file will have all the columns like
    Example:
    Parent, Employee, Alias: Default, Data Storage, Aggregation (Wrkforce), Attribute.
    "Existing Employee",XYZ,XYZ,Store,+,Male.
    Use the Outline Load utility to load the Employees under Parent "Existing Employees". This way you can load the metadata for
    your Employee dimension and also your attribute will be associated at the same time. Once your dimension or metadata for employee gets loaded,
    you can then load the data corresponding to the Employees.

  • Workforce planning in maintenance order

    Hello experts
    I did already a lot of research and I made also some tests in the SAP system but I didn't find any answer to my question.
    I have two work centers. Both should work for Projects and for maintenance orders or orders in general. The capacity planning and the workforce planning for projects (CMP1,3 e 9) is all clear. I have two work centers, assign them to a project and with the transactions mentioned before I can assign a person to the activity for the projects. But now I want to setup the maintenance order in a way that I'm able to make the workforce planning.
    I create a new order with IW31. There I'm going to maintain a work center for the first operation. In the operation itself I maintain the work load, the date and the assignment for the person. I release and schedule the order.
    Afterwards I'm able to see the requirement for this work center in the CM50.
    Now my question
    If I want to make the workforce planning report I can't see the assignment of the person I assigned before in the order. I can only see assignments of project activities. How can I handle this issue? Is there a change to be made on the work center or are setup some categories or profiles wrong?

    Just check if you assigned the person responsible in Basic data tab of the work centre in u201CIR02u201D.Also check if you have maintained partner determination for the person

  • Need Guideline in Workforce Planning

    Hello All,
    I am working on project, where I have to create data forms in workforce planning. I also am reading Oracle Hyperion workforce planning Administrator Guide. My question is can some one help or guide me to create my plan types?
    I can create dimensions by Navigating > Administration > Dimensions > Add Dimensions
    I can create Data Forms by Navigating > Administration > Managing Data Forms > Create
    I have confusion about under given questions....
    1- As I know there are pre-build data forms ..so how can we modify and use them for loading data? I can understand we can load data by DIM or Outline load Utility but how can we load data manually?
    2- What is relationship between Dimension and Data Forms which I have mentioned up there? If I create Dimensions then we can work or Data Forms or is there any other philosophy?
    3- How to increase rows, and columns in those data forms and what will be the Fields for HR?
    I have been told to create two dimensions i.e. Employees and Positions. I can create those Dimensions as I mentioned above steps but what kind of parents and child i need to put and how can i load those dimensions in to Workforce Data Forms.
    I hope to hear positive reply..

    I have created new planning application at work since they asked me to develop workforce application for their business needs. I have created planning application and then I initialized to workforce.
    Now as soon as I click on any of those Data Forms I am getting this error ( The data form Begin vs End is invalid. Check log for details. ) ...............> Moreover, I have checked error.log file too and it was saying that there is no any application.
    I went back to Essbase system to create Essbase server and put same name as my application has then tried to REFRESH but as soon as i click on refreshed I have not get any message or any changes....other than that I went back to my workforce planning application even i am not able to see REFRESH button Visible....
    Please guide me and let me know that where i am laging...and what should i have to do....since I have already ready Planning admin and workforce admin guide too but just do not get why i am getting this error...
    I will appreciate you if you guide me from you precious time.....This my work project so hop to hear from you...

    Hi Malay,
    Use the following FMs.
    1. BAPI_BUPA_CREATE_FROM_DATA  -  create the BP
    2. BP_BUPA_CREATECENTRALPERSON - create central person against the BP
    3. CRM_DNO_EMPLOYEE_ROLE_ADD - u can give the user name and other details against the BP
    And one more thing it would take the standard employee role as BUP003. If something else have been defined in customizing then it has to be marked as default.
