XI 3.0 -    XML - IDOC inbound scenario  via ftp  UTF-8 character encoding

Hi Everyone,
I'm having difficulties with a particular scenario. I receive via the ftp adapter xml files which have a header indicating UTF-8 coding. In SXMB_MONI, i see the cyrillic characters and after mapping the target message payload as well have readable cyrillic characters. The problem comes when i have the SAP-side check the idoc that posted in their system. They see gibberish (i.e ##### #### ### #').
I have already tried changing the XSD definition of the xml to UTF-8 however upon import it automatically changes it to ISO-8859-1. I've tested sending the xml file to XI with an ISO-8859-1 coding header and in SXMB_MONI it's gibberish as well. So i've elminated that from possible problems.
i have checked SM59 on the receiving system and unicode is checked as well.
where could the problem possibly be?
Thank you,
Kent

Hi,
Thank you for the quick reply. however that did not solve it. I believe the Cyrillic character set lies in the UTF-8 set. i mentioned about the ISO to elmiinated its possibility and the problem i face when importing an XSD definition as it automatically changes the encoding to that set. I have confirmed that it should be UTF-8.
I have isolated the problem to between the XI box and the SAP receiving box. in SXMB_MONI, up to the call adapter part, the payload shows the correct characters. upon checking it in the receiving system at tcode "we02", the value is all gibberish.

  • RE:idoc inbound scenario "mapping issue"

    Hi experts,
    we r facing the problem in idoc inbound scenario, while to generate multiple idoc's.
    we need to generate the idoc's based on two fields, Location_code and Date. If any of the field is changing we need to generate the new idoc.
    below is the sender  payload :
    <row>
          <Date>20100111</Date>
          <Sign>+</Sign>
          <Tender_Code>ZSHT</Tender_Code>
          <Tender_Amount>1890.30</Tender_Amount>
          <Location_Code>0000001000</Location_Code>
       </row>
       <row>
          <Date>20100112</Date>
          <Sign>+</Sign>
          <Tender_Code>ZSHT</Tender_Code>
          <Tender_Amount>1890.30</Tender_Amount>
          <Location_Code>0000001000</Location_Code>
       </row>
       <row>
          <Date>20100112</Date>
          <Sign>+</Sign>
          <Tender_Code>ZSHT</Tender_Code>
          <Tender_Amount>1890.30</Tender_Amount>
          <Location_Code>0000001001</Location_Code>

          <Tender_Amount>4532.32</Tender_Amount>
          <Location_Code>0000001001</Location_Code>
       </row>
    for the above payload ,we need 3 idocs as below
    idoc1:
    Location_code>1000    Date->20100111
    idoc2:
    Location_code>1000    Date->20100112
    idoc3:
    Location_code>1001    Date->20100112
    under the third idoc fourth row should get repeated.
    at present we have the following mapping which is generating multiple idocs bsased on only location code, it's like
    Location_code-->removecontext-->sort-->splitbyvalue(valuechange)-->collapsecontext--->idoc

    Hi,
    Thanks Suraj , logic has worked but there is a simple issue , LOCATION_Code is mapped with SNDRPRN and RCVPRN of the EDI_DC40 segment when i m execuiting the payload it throws error for the second idoc generated , when the LOCATION_CODE changes this should also get updated to that field. Mapping for SDNPRN has been done like this.
    LOCATION_CODE --->removecontext-->|
                                         formatbyexample--->SNDRPRN

  • XML-IDOC inbound for ECC 6.0

    Hi,
    in a ECC 6.0 only landscape we would like to process XML-IDOC in inbound. For outbound we have already create a XML-IDOC port... but I don't be able to find it for inbound.
    How can I do it ?
    Regards.
    Ganimede Dignan.

    Hi,
    it's quite simple, if you have a system base on NW 2004s or newer you have all that you need but take in mind XML-IDOC it's not a Free XML .... it's an XML structure as an IDOC.
    In WE21 TCODE you can set-up and "XML File" port or and "XML Http" port.
    In anyway you can parser each XML by ABAP custom code.
    read olso some of my old notes....
    IDOC_INBOUND_FROM_FILE => called within report RSEINB00
    IDOC_XML_FROM_FILE         => not called by any report (on release 4.6c)
    I have used fm IDOC_XML_FROM_FILE already many times to manually transfer XML-IDocs from one SAP system to another.
    Given the fact that report RSEINB00 is quite simple (see below) you could create your ZRSEINB00 for processing XML IDocs.
    The reports can be scheduled in background to process the inbound IDocs continuously.

  • Sap Xml Idoc Inbound in Sap

    Hi all
    If I have to receive an Edi message from an external system (for example an Invoice from a vendor), could I get in Sap an Idoc from a flat file formatted as a Sap Xml format?
    As Sap Xml format I mean the same structure of an xml file generated in Sap to the Xml file port.
    (The sap r/3 system is a Sap Enterprise version)
    Thanks in advance
    Bye

    Hi
    Thanks for the answer.
    Regarding the FM IDX_XML_TO_IDOC, I thing that I can't use it directly because I have to write a program, I have to read the Xml file (that is located in a special directory of the operative system) and then use the FM putting xml data in the XML_DATA import parameter.
    It's correct?
    Bye

  • IDOC:inbound scenario for posting Message type ORDRSP

    Hi All,
    I am doing a inbound scenraio to post message type ORDRSP.
    Acknowledgement gets created in Purchase order successfully but texts at header level and item level are not getting updated in the purchase order
    I am using the segment E1EDKT1 and E1EDKT2 for header texts . For item texts I am using the segments E1EDPT1 and  E1EDPT2.
    Any pointers to this is appreciable.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    Depending on whether the Order is a third party order are not, the texts are picked up from either SO or PO.
    Put a break point on line 842 in the Include LEINMF11 and debug, this should help you get to the root cause of the issue.

  • Character Encoding for IDOC to JMS scenario with foreign characters

    Dear Experts,
    The scenario is desribed as follows:
    Issue Description:
    There is an IDOC which is created after extracting data from different countries (but only one country at a time). So, for instance first time the data is picked in Greek and Latin and corresponding IDOC is created and sent to PI, the next time plain English and sent to PI and next Chinese and so on. As of now every time this IDOC reaches PI ,it comes with UTF-8 character encoding as seen in the IDOC XML.
    I am converting this IDOC XML into single string flat file (currently taking the default encoding UTF-8) and sending it to receiver JMS Queue (MQ Series). Now when this data is picked up from the end recepient from the corresponding queue in MQ Series, they see ? wherever there is a Greek/latin characters (may be because that should be having a different encoding like ISO-8859_7). This is causing issues at their end.
    My Understanding
    SAP system should trigger the IDOC with the right code page i.e if the IDOC is sent with Greek/Latin code page should be ISO-8859_7, if this same IDOC is sent with Chinese characters the corresponding code page else UTF-8 or default code page.
    Once this is sent correctly from SAP, Java Mapping should have to use the correct code page when righting the bytes to outputstream and then we would also need to set the right code page as JMS Header before putting the message in the JMS queue so that receiver can interpret it.
    Queries:
    1. Is my approach for the scenario correct, if not please guide me to the right approach.
    2. Does SAP support different code page being picked for the same IDOC based on different data set. If so how is it achieved.
    3. What is the JMS Header property to set the right code page. I think there should be some JMS Header defined by MQ Series for Character Encoding which I should be setting correctly) I find that there is a property to set the CCSID in JMS Receiver Adapter but that only refers to Non-ASCII names and doesn't refer to the payload content.
    I would appreciate if anybody can give me pointers on how to resolve this issue.
    Thanks,
    Pratik

  • XML IDOC post to R/3 Via WAS - want to see error content with JavaScript

    Hi,
    I am posting XML IDOCs to our R/3 system via a webpage that I have built with JavaScript.  I am posting to the WAS, which is configured to read the XML IDOC with SAP's standard class handler CL_HTTP_IDOC_XML_REQUEST.  We are on basis 620 support pack SAPKB62041.
    In my webpage, I have the JavaScript code set to read the status and statusText so I can see the response from WAS when I post my XML IDOC.  However, I am getting back very generic information when I encounter a 409 error.  THe statusText is always "input_not_found".  So I debugged the class handler code and found that SAP is returning back the more descriptive error info in HTML format.
    I ran a packet sniffer to see what WAS returns and the info looks like this:
    <html><head><title>IDoc-XML-inbound not ok</title><h1>IDoc-XML-inbound not ok</h1></head><body>
    E:Table Lookup Error:300 Cannot map value for field MESCOD in table ZFI_IF_IDOCORG using values
    SNDSAD = |TE|  and RCVLAD = |GL|  and MESTYP = |ACC_DOCUMENT|</body></html>
    I want to know how I can get my webpage to read this HTML info and store that into an alert so I can read this text that I'm returning back to the HTTP post.
    This is how my script looks.  I'm using IE6.
    <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN">
    <html>
    <head>
         <title>Test XML</title>

         xmlhttp.Open("POST","http://some_server:1089/sap/bc/zxml_idoc?sap-client=200&sap-language=EN",false);
         xmlhttp.setRequestHeader("Content-Type", "text/xml");
         xmlhttp.send(DataToSend);
            alert(xmlhttp.Status);
            alert(xmlhttp.statusText);
         alert(xmlhttp.responseXML.xml);
    //-->
    </SCRIPT>
    </head>
    <body>
    <BR>
    This page posts to

    <FORM name=xmlform method=post >

    </TEXTAREA>
    <P>
    <INPUT type="button" value="Submit XMLHTTP" id=XMLHTTPButton name=XMLHTTPButton
    LANGUAGE=javascript onclick="return XMLHTTPButton_onclick(document.xmlform.xmlData.value)">
    </form>
    Previously with this class handler, SAP returned the detailed info back to the "alert(xmlhttp.statusText)" and I had no problem seeing the return info.  But now they have decided to format it in HTML and I don't know how to view this text since it has no ID on it to pull this into an alert box.
    If anyone has any ideas, please let me know.
    Thanks,
    Andrea

    Ok!
    I have solve the problem. So, I was trying to connect via SSO within an user that was not registered in R/3 and I forgot it.
    Sorry for the inconvenience.

  • Loading Invoice XML IDoc with digital signature via XI into R/3

    Hi,
    I received an Invoice XML IDoc with digital signature via Mail (for test purposes) and want to load it via XI into an R/3 systeme.
    My idea is to load the Invoice XML IDoc file via the File Sender Adapter into XI and send it to the R/3 system via the IDoc Inbound adapter.
    Due to the digital signature the file looks like this:
    0‚ S      *†H†÷
        ‚ D0‚ @   1 0       +      0‚ '      *†H†÷
        ‚   ‚   ‚ –0‚ ’0‚ û      etc.
    When I load the file like this with the File Sender Adapter, an error message occurs in the XI Monitoring as the XML Parser cannot read the file due to the digital signatur (as expected).
    Has anybody an idea how I can configure the File Sender Adapter Communication Channel to be able to load only the XML IDoc and ignore the digital Signature strings?
    Thanks in advance for your support.

  • Receiving binary IDOC via Queue and convert it to XML-IDOC

    Hello,
    we are focusing the following scenario:
    We receive an plain, binary IDOC in a MQSeries Queue. We want to pick it, transform it and place it into R/3 (of course using XI 3.0). Afterwards the other way around.
    I know the Howto for the ABAP mapping from XML-Idoc to plain IDOC. This may also work for our scenario. Do you agree?
    The other way around is more difficult. I assume that - since the IDOC adapter resides in the ABAP stack - we cannot re-use an existant adapter module in the JMS adapter. Right?
    I heared about JCO capabilities of "xmlizing" Idocs - but did not find hints within the javadoc. Anyway, would this really be the preferred way - writing an user exit for the adapter using JCO - to handle this? There must be a way to do it better, must it not?
    How did you guys face this problem - I think its a common one...
    Any starting points for a discussion are appreciated....
    Greets,
    helge

    Hi Helge,
    For the conversion of the incoming flat message, one could imagine a similar ABAP mapping as the one described for the XML->flat message conversion. The function module IDX_IDOC_TO_XML could be a good starting point for your search.
    To perform conversions in the Java stack (e.g. in an adapter module) might be a quite complex task since you first have to get the IDoc metadata. And there you cannot reuse existing function modules.
    Best regards
    Joachim

    U can give a try as follows.
    In the Partner Profile of Sender R/3 system,
    Give the Receiver Party P_Party in the PartnerNo. Give the 'Business Partner' as logical System type.
    In XI, Party Definition of P_Party
    Give the following Alternative Identifier
    Agency  -   Sender R/3  Business System
    Scheme -   ALE#GP
    Value    -    P_Party

  • How to edit and import the scenario via XML format?

    Hi gurus,
    In our project, we have a lot of ECC clients. So in PI system, we need to do a lot of same work in one scenario(Although we have config wizard,it's still boring because of our slow network speed).
    Do we have any fast method to fix that? I mean can we edit the xml of one scenario and then import it into ID?
    There is an import function but only we can import tpz files.
    Thanks in advance. Any help will be appreciated.

    I believe that  XML Data will be used for some later "technical Analysis" or for some documentation purposes and can not be used for the purpose you need to..

  • IDoc - File Scenario

    Dear SDN,
    We have to develop something like this:
    An IDoc is generated from an ABAP Business System. Using content based routing conditions the IDoc must be sent to different FTP servers. The problem is that the IDoc must be written in its "native plain" format, not in XML format.
    Any ideas?

    hi Gustavo,
    2 ways
    1. https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/46759682-0401-0010-1791-bd1972bc0b8a
    2. send the idoc from R3 in native IDOC (file port) and just tranport it via XI
    both ways will produce native IDOC:)
    for file ports you can check out my book

  • Doubt about RFC Destination in FILE to IDOC Async scenario

    hi
    In FILE-XI-IDOC Async Scenario we are creating RFC Destination in R/3 and XI.
    For Asyn we don't want response But We are Creating RFC Destination in R/3 also.
    Any specific reason.
    Thanks in advance.

    First you need to have a clear understading of how the idoc adapters works.
    In xi we create rfc destination and specify that in the port maintenance on the idoc adapter so that we can establish a connection to the sender / receiver system which contains the IDOC METADATA (IDX2) that is required by the idoc adapter to convert the native idoc into idoc xml format.
    In R/3 as sender we create rfc destination so that when the idoc has to be transported to the xi system first it will be sent to trfc port that rfc desination that  u define the trfc port contains that the target system address(IP) and logon parameters req.So idoc can be sent to the desired destination.
    In R/3 as a receiver to facilitate communication we define rfc dest, partner profile and specify the inbound parameters so that idoc can be posted.
    Hope this answers your ques.
    cheers
