XL-Reporter - Financial Periods specified in row and column selections

Hello to all,
again I have no idea how to solve an XLR problem after I tried different ways with unwanted results and after trying to find suggestions in the samples and help files.
As a result I need a report which looks roughly like this
       2007 2006 2005 ...
Jan.
Feb.
Mar.
Dec.
where each cell of the matrix is the total of invoices of a selected customer over the month in the specified year.
I mainly tried to solve this in two different ways.:
1.)
Definition of a parameter for finacial period: name=fp, dimension, type=financial period, attribute=code
Column selection summary for each year: PER(code=YearAll(@fp)) resp. PER(code=YearAll(@fp-12)) ...
Row selection expansion: BPA(CardCode=@customer) ARDT(Code=Invoice) PER(PeriodInYear=1:12) Group By PER.PeriodInYear
In each cell of the matrix the data attribute =ixGet(SO_LineTotal) is specified.
The cell in the first colum (month) of the matrix is =ixDimGet(PER; PeriodInYear).
2.)
No parameter for the financial period is defined;
Column selection summary for each year: PER(Year=2007) resp. PER(Year=2006) ...
The rest is the same as in 1.)
As a result I actually get a matrix with a column for each year and a row for each month, where the first column is 1, 2, ..., 12 (this is OK).
But for all 12 month I get the same value, which is the (correct) total value for the whole year!
Where is the failure in my intuition?
Many thanks for your help!
Regards,
Frank Romeni

I found it works if I don't set the selection to period in the Column and row.   Here are my selections
Row
Row 8-9  Expanding
PER( * )  Group By PER.PeriodInYear
Row 9 Expanding
FACT BPA( CardCode = @BPCode ) ARDT( Code = "Invoice" )
Column
Column C Expanding
FACT FIG( SO_TaxDate >= "01/01/2007" ) PER( * )  Group By PER.Year
then I use a Column total to total the row expansion of the SO_LineTotal  with =SUM( ixRef(C9,2) ) were C9 is the expanding SO_LineTotal.  Then I hide Row 9 in excel to hide the details.
If you post your email I can send you the IXR report definition

  • Report with multiple dimensions in Row and Column with EvEXP

    Hi
We are currently running BPC 7.0 SP3 and try to create the report(or schedule) with more 2 x 2 dimensions in the row and column.
    e.g.
row dimension : Outer row is Entity, Inner row is Account
column dimension : Outer column is Time, Inner row is Category
We created the report with  2 x 2 dimensions like above e.g. with EvEXP and EvNXP, NOT EvDRE
based on default dynamic template:Template13.xlt(Nested Row, 2 x 1 dimensions defined by EvEXP and EvNXP formula).
However, when expanding the dimension with double click these dimensions or change CV of the report with  2 x 2 dimensions defined by EvEXP and EvNXP formula,
error occurs on EvEXP and EvNXP formula and can't retrieve the result correctly.
    [Question]
Can't we create the report with more 2 x 2 dimensions in the row and column using EvEXP and EvNXP function ?
We understand that we can make the report with more 2 x 2 dimensions in the row and column if using EvDRE.
    Thank You in advance
    Kenya

    Thank you for your advice.
I understand that we should use EvDRE when creating the report with multiple dimension in the row/column because EvEXP have some erros, poor performance, etc.
    Then, we have two questions.
    1)
    >plus they had some errors in the designs.
what kind of errors they have as an example?
    2)
    >If you must build the EVEXP and EVNXP, I would suggest building the template from scratch
We built the simple template with just 2 x 2 dimension from scratch.
But this report doesn't work well when double-click the dimension or changing CV...
Would you please check the following template?

It would be greatly appreciated if you could give me your advice for the template.
    Thank you again
    And my best regards,

  • Multiple Rows and Columns selection on ALV

    Hi all,
What is the best solution to allow the multiple selection or combination of selection (rows and columns) on an ALV ?
I would like to be able to select some rows and some columns and to get the result cells in order to update them.
Thanks in advance for your help.
    David

    Thanks Srinivas and Seela,
I forgot to precise that my ALV is dynamic, I used the method 'add_new_child_node'.
I tried the different possibilties with method attributes but I don't find the good attributes combination to allow columns selection.
I add also that I have to be able to select several no adjacent columns.
What do you think about this workaround :
Is it possible to add a line on my ALV with checkbox between the header line (with column title) and data line.
I will search using the method add_cell_variant but I don't know if it's possible with dynamic ALV.
    Thanks.

  • I would like to place an element into a two dimensional array, and I would like to be able to specify which row and column each of the elements will go in.

In the vi that I am writing I have rise and fall times to post in a very specific pattern. I can initialize an array, and I can replace elements, but in "replace element" I only find that I am given the choice of specifying a single dimensional position. I need to be able to specify BOTH column and row. Can anyone help me?

    Hi Jryan !
If you wire a 2D array to the input of a "replace element" function, you will see that the function expand to display an additionnal index. The one you are looking for !!

  • Help! Inserting a 1-D comment array into a 2-D string array at specified row AND column

    Hello everyone,
I am writing a 2-D string array to excel and i need a way to add comments to my file like this:
    SLAM    NAME    G Level    Comments
    1              RALF         26
    1              RALF         26
    1              RALF         26
    1              RALF         26
For some reason, i cannot specify a row AND column to write because:
When i use replace array subset it only replaces 1 element at my index.
When i use replace array subset with a loop, it creates empty spaces until it reaches the end of the array it is replacing.
When i use Insert into array: i cannot wire 2 inputs for row and column.
In my complete VI i will need to write from row 1-1001, a different comment from 2-2002, a different comment from 3-3003, etc until a stop condition is met so i need to figure out how to do this programatically and not have it replace any elements outside of the range or it will override previous commetns.
I am at a loss of what to do. Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

  • Row and Column Template in Hyperion Reporting

    Hi
Whenver I am trying to save a column of a report as a template , it is giving an error :
"The selected columns contain one or more of the items below that cannot be included in templates:
    Invalid Input "
I am not sure what does this mean. Though I have already deselected the "Link to Source Object". Can anyone suggest ?

it may also worth cross checking below form doc:
a.If your row and column template contains formulas with external references (for
example, to cells outside of the selected row and column template), you are prompted
to modify those formulas before saving the row or column template.
Note: You can save a row and column template that contains cell formulas, as these can
be discarded. For more information, see step 9.c on page 115.
    b. If a secondary database connection was specified within the row and column template,
a dialog box displays prompting you to continue saving the template. If you save the
template, the secondary database connection you specified in the row and column
template is discarded. The primary database connection is then used for the row and
    column template.
    c. If unsupported properties are found, an Information dialog box presents a list of
properties to discard before saving the template. For example, if the row and column
template contains a cell formula, you can choose to save the template without the
formula or not save the template.

  • XL Reporter Financial Period Code

    Hi all
How to display XL Reporter Financial Period Code in Day Month Year format as now the result is always Year and month?
    Kedalene

    Hi Kedalene
I think you should use Dates (ex: Posting Dates) instead of Posting Periods.
Is your Fiscal Year Is Sub-Periods = Days? Otherwise it makes no much meaning. Even if it is Days you could still use Posting Date.
Or is that you  are looking something else?
    Cheers

  • Lock rows and columns header in a table view report. It is possible?

    hi,
I have a Dashboard that displays a report in "Table View" with many rows and columns.
Is it possible to set a lock on the rows and columns like Excel?
This would have blocked such headers that contain attributes and measures and to browse the report (eg with a scroll bar) had always viewed the headers.
    Can you help me?

  • Displaying the Row and Column number in the report

I am trying to show row and column number in the report (not just web preview). I am using Hyperion Reports Version 7.2.5.168

use a formula column/row. use RANK function in that. (e.g. Rank([A], asc) will sort the rows based on column A values in ascending order)
you can use this rank in your heading.
But frankly this is not so easy. You have to do it in a very intelligent way, so that rank gives you column number/row number any how.
Have a try and let see if you find a appropriate solution.

  • Navigation on row and column total in pivot report

    Hi All,
I have created a pivot report with 2 dimension columns and one measure and defined row and column total. Now, users wants to have a navigation report on the row/column total so that once he clicks on total value, he can see the detail report. While doing this, he also wants to pass on the 2 dimension column values to detail report.
Is there any workaround for this?

  • Limitation of row and column in FR report

    Hi all,
i want to know what is the maximum number of row and column that we can display in FR report.
and is there any possibility to increase the number of row and column in FR reports,if yes then how?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Andy,
I think your asking if this or something similar could be used to go to another page rather than as a popup? The answer is yes. since you have already done the decode in your query, you can just go to the Report Attributes tab (I'm using version 2.2.1.00.04) and click the edit button for the column. Then, you can simply go to the
HTML Expression [Insert column value] text area and insert:
    <!--
    <b>#A#<b>
This will give you everything that is in the column link section, but I find it easier to work with since it's all together (personal preference).
I reread your post and realized that you wanted to pass the A as a value and not the summary value of the column. I simply removed the #'s. I think this should work. I also kept the summary value using the #A# as the link. I belive that you can copy and paste this into each column (replacing the A with the appropriate column header of course...).
If I were doing this I might create a CASE statement in the query and evaluate for null before creating the link. Here is an example of using that approach:
    CASE WHEN "STATUS" = 'U' AND ("CREATEDBY"=:APP_USER OR :APP_USER='MY_USER')
    THEN ''
    || '<img src="#WORKSPACE_IMAGES#edit.gif" border="0" alt="Click here to Edit">'
    || ''
    ELSE ''
    END LINK,

  • Localization of CrossTab row and column label Crystal Report RPT file

    Dear all,
Does anyone know how to support multiple locale texts (English and French) in CrossTab Row and Column Header labels and grand total labels? Is there a way to parameterize text objects CrossTab in one single Crystal Report RPT file to use some sort of locale resource file containing text string for different languages based on the users of RPT at runtime? The idea is to use one single RPT file to generate report for different locale text for CrossTab Row and Column abels and grand total labels  instead of creating RPT files per locale?

    Hi,
Does the database have a column that identifies the language? If it does, then you could create two separate cross-tabs and place them in different sections and conditionally suppress the section depending on the language from the database.
That's the only thing that can be done in my opinion.

  • Setup for discoverer table for showing number of Rows and columns of Report

As oracle discoverer report show "Rows 1-25 of"(Total rows) and "Column 1-6 Of"(Total Column).
This total rows and columns information's is not appearing on our reports.
Kindly let us know its setting/setups .
This is very urgent to us, Any help will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks, Avaneesh

Hmm, what version of Discoverer are you on? Do I understand you correctly that you are able to run a Discoverer report and see this rows and columns information? What software are you running when you do this - Viewer, Plus, or Desktop? Where is this showing up - the top of the report maybe? Or maybe the bottom of the report? The only thing I can think of to handle this is the Page Setup for a workbook, and looking at the Header and Footer sections of that setup. But I am on Discoverer 10.1.2.2 and I don't see anything I can insert on the header/footer that would show this kind of information. Desktop will let you do Page x of y pages (Plus does not), but that is not what you are seeing. You can maybe look at the page setup and see if there is something there not documented in the Discoverer guides.

  • SSRS Report Freezing row and column while scrolling Issue

    Hello,
I have created the report and i have freezed the row and column of the report while scrolling [To Freeze made the changes in tabulex property of the table "Keep Header visible while scrolling"]
meade the changes in the property [Advaned Mode]
    Fixed Data= true
    Keep Together=true
    Keep with group =After
    Report on new page=true
When ever i will scroll down my report my all column headder will remains same. after that if i scroll to right my first freeded column headder will not display [group column or freezed row headder].
COuld you please suggest me for the same issue.

    Hi Vinay,
Based on my research, freezing row and column headers are different in table and matrix.
In a table, if we want to freeze column header, we should make the changes in the first Static row group in Row Groups pane with Advanced Mode as you said. If we want to freeze row header, the table should have a group ahead, then we can enable “Repeat header
rows on each page” and “Keep header visible while scrolling” options in Row Headers in Tablix Properties dialog box.
In a matrix, if we want to freeze column header, we can enable “Repeat header columns on each page” and “Keep header visible while scrolling” options in Column Headers in Tablix Properties dialog box. If we want to freeze row header, we can enable “Repeat
header rows on each page” and “Keep header visible while scrolling” options in Row Headers in Tablix Properties dialog box.
    Hope this helps.
