Z77 Mpower+ GTX 295 problems.

Hi all
I have an Z77 mpower motherboard with Avexir MPower Series 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-19200C10 2400MHz Dual Channel Kit and a i5 3570k.
When the mobo is at deafults in the bios then all is ok..not one problem.
but if I do a small OC [email protected] using turbo and use the XMP on the ram
Then most times it gets to windows the I get a black screen and my monitor says "No video input"
Now on my 295 dual pcb I have a blue light(for power)and a green light that comes on when I am connected to a screen.
What I have noticed is that for some reason the mobo will switch off the screen side of my 295(the green light is now out)
and some times when it gets to the windows logon screen it turns off the power light!
At the MSI mpower page it says that a GTX 295 with the firmware of 62.00.6C.00.01/02 has been tested
my firmware is 62.00.45.00.02(P0657-7000) not the same so?
I have tried my 295 in another i5 mobo(gigabyte) and all is ok, my power supply is a Silverstone 650W SLI.
Any help would be good
Thank you for your time.

There is another user with this exact error. Best to contact MSI, I'll send them an email and see if there is a known issue.
Please let me know which ME version is installed. Check in UEFI bios for this.
Thanks
>>How to contact MSI.<<
Edit: Try this version as well:
http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=22092&keyword=management+engine&lang=eng
I also recommended to the other user to remove control center then do a registry search for it and delete any left over keys and files. Then re-install see if it helps.
Thanks xmad
I will uninstall control centre in a bit and do as you say.
I have told MSI support but all they say is they can't replicate the problem and they never heard about it.
The ME driver is installed this "please replace the ME version" will it cause any other problems other than control panel?
because I can live with out it. I will look at my ME version when my 480s come tomoz.
As I am hooked to my monitor using the built in graphics and it don't like my monitor lol.
Thanks again...Hello MSI support..please pay these guys or give them some great freebies..thank you

as the manual suggest, for a single gpu configuration i should use pci_e2 (page 1-19)
i've tried GTX 260 216sp no go , black screen no system post ,and pressed reset button like 10 time, didn't work, it worked once and never again, and gpu-z shows [PCI-E 16X2.0 @ X4.0]
i've tried AMD 3850x2 no go , black screen no system post
i've tried 9600GT no go , black screen no system post
i've tried 9500GT no go, black screen no system post
i've tried 9800GTX no go black screen no system post
then each of this vga shifted on pci_e5 and worked at the first system startup
    is the mainboard faulty?!

Remove the board and make sure there are no extra stand off or screws shorting the case.

    If you have tried all the applicable suggestions previously mentioned in this thread, try the newest Beta UEFI/BIOS found here;

wich one please? i see so many ...

Presume in GPU-Z it was reading 2.0 @ 8X? I think the suggestions are correct. This is a classic behavior of bent or damaged CPU socket pin(s). Could be a faulty PCI-E slot, errant standoff underneath the mainboard, or even a more rare faulty CPU. Uneven mounting or torque pressure of the CPU cooler could also cause this behavior.
what does it mean? should i still have to wait like one month or much more to get a new board since it arrived faulty?

PS : is there a way to manually set the dram voltage ? it's currently set to auto but when i try to type in 1.5 or 1.6 it just goes back to auto ?

Club was my cell phone auto correcting.
Was intending to say cpuv and cpu multiplier.
    long duration power limit 4096 My z77 = 255
    Long duration maintained(s) 1 My z77=2
Short duration power limit 4096 My z77 =255
I set my turbo multiplier to 45 x
    Quote
Also do u mean the core ratio limit for turbo multipliers and set them manually too 46 if I want a 4.6 clock and leave multiplier and voltage on auto and I have set then droop to 75%
Yes, although 46x was not stable on mine. Most users report being able to reach 45x w/ all power savings enabled, 46x would require 100% vdroop and most likely disabling some power savings features.

  • Z77 Mpower USB2 issue under Win8.1 only

    Hi,
I dont know where to ask this anymore, no-one answers so i think it can be bios issue of msi z77 mpower motherboard,
The problem is that the frontal usb2 port does not work, the device is not appearing in device manager and disk managment sections.
The only way to make it work is to plug in the device before turning on the PC, so windows will run it normally.
This happens only on windows 8.1, I have already tried to reinstall it but nothing is changed... can anybody tell me whats going on and how to fix it

All of my USB3 ports are working fine and never had any kind of problem, as i said, the only way to make USB2 work is to plugin device before PC turn on, so my Mouse and Keyboard which are attached to the backside USB2 ports will always work.
    Here is the full spec.

  • Problem with starting msi z77 Mpower

    Hello
i 've just bought a Cooler Master Silent Pro Gold 800W
    and a mobo msi z77 mpower(today)
    i have this problem
i have tested the psu with 2 different mobo (the msi stated before and a asus p8z77 v pro) and in both cases the psu fan runs for few seconds and the it stops.i have tried it with and without cpu , with and without case fans , i have the same problem it turns the fans for few seconds and then it stops as if dose not have enough power.
tested the psu with the paper clip test and it works , but when i put the 24 pin connectors and the 8 pin connectors on the motherboard it dosen't. Maybe i do something wrong ?
I've  speak with tech support from cooler master and it seems it's not the psu
honestly i don't know what eles to try /do
    can you help me?
    thank you in advance

To go a step farther, when the board is outside of the case, you should have a monitor connected to the onboard graphics or a discrete card, 1 stick of RAM in the primary DIMM slot, and CPU with it's cooler for initial startup. Be sure to test on a non conductive surface of unprinted plain cardboard or an untreated wood surface.

  • Problem with Big Bang z77 mpower and USB3

I built my pc last night and everything was working just fine. I have 3 external harddrives connected to the USB3.0 ports in the back. Last night, I was able to see all 3 (along with my 4 internal harddrives (1ssd, 3 hdd)). I turn it off for the night and then this morning, the only thing I was seeing was my internals. Nothing changed between then and now. I did see a UB91 in the device manager with a yellow triangle.. updated all my USB controller drivers via the downloads from MSi's website which got rid of the yellow device but my USB drives are still not showing. My USB2 ports seem to be working. My mouse/keyboard are connected to the ones in the back. I connected a thumb drive to the front ports of my HAF case (both USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports) and it showed up in each one. Not sure why my back USB3.0 ports are no longer working.
Other parts in the build are:
    Intel i7 3770k
    2 x 4GB DDR3 1600 MHz
    nVidia GTX 680
Any ideas what I can do or if its a mobo failure?
Edit: Forgot to put I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit.

if that one doest work, replace the other firmware: f302808.mem

Yes, what you are doing is loading the working bios, then flipping the switch so that you flash the broken one. It is not something you normally want to do, but it is how to recover the Bios A. You just must make sure that you do not touch the switch until the bios is finished loading and the flash tool selection screen is up.

    now i see 3 options
    1. Run memtest86+
    2. Proceed with Update

  • Z77 MPower RAM problems (BSOD)

    Hi!
So i'm writing on this forum because im having huge problems with BSOD (0x0000001a - Memory managment) on my z77 mpower mobo.
    My PC:
    Windows 7
    Intel i5 - 3570K
    MSI Z77 MPOWER
    ATI HD5850
    G.Skill 4GBx2 (F3-12800cl9d-8GBXL)
    Corsair TX650
Latest Beta Bios (Same in 17.3, 17.4)
Problems emerges when i put RAM in slot #2 and #4 like described in manuals (initial slots). I even get errors on Memtest86 but when I put RAM in slots #1 and #3 there is no Memtest errors.  If i test only 1 bank of memory i get wierd timming in Memtest .
RAM: 804 MHz (DDR3-1608) / CAS : 6-6-6-20 (11-11-11-28 when in dual channel) - Original timming are 9-9-9-24. And when im using single stick of ram slot 1 or 2 have timmings 6-6-6-20 and slot 3 and 4 have 11-11-11-28.
About that error in memtest86. I get error (1 error every loop)  in test 8. If I lauch memtest86 right after BSOD (always the same) i get 300 errors in 10 seconds (SLOT 2 AND 4) .
    XMP does not solve BSODs.
I dont really know what else could i write to help you understand my problem .

Quote from: xmad on 21-November-12, 02:19:57
I suggest you borrow some memory to test(Any other DDR3), if the problem re-presents itself, I suggest you remove the cpu and inspect the cpu pins for damage. Do this with a bright light and magnifying glass.
already inspected pins and all is fine. Now i need other RAM to test.
Quote from: Froggy Gremlin on 21-November-12, 03:31:36
If you are getting errors in Memtest, the RAM is most likely at fault and should be replaced. As for the CPU-Z readings, they can't be completely trusted. I see once in awhile on the SPD Tab the wrong chip programming being reported, so glitches exist with the SW. Does CPU-Z still read wrong when just one RAM stick is placed in DIMM 2, the primary DIMM slot which is the second slot from the CPU?
The RAM sticks should be initially tested each individually using Memtest in the primary DIMM slot, not both together in slots 2 and 4, or 1 and 3. IMO, you have a factory screwup mismatch labeled kit of RAM or something.
Having some bent or damaged CPU socket pins is also a possible, although this usually is indicated by failure to POST or boot, and DIMM slots 1 and 2, or 3 and 4 will not function at all.
    About that second slot.
    Inserted RAM                  CPUZ detection
         slot1                                 slot 3
         slot2                                 slot 4
         slot3                                 slot 1
         slot4                                 slot 2
i was testing with only 1 stick. I intend to test RAM in slot 2 like you said but what are those off timmings :S. RAM (9-9-9-24) but in memtest (4.20 or 5.0 Beta) are set to 6-6-6-20 and i cannot change it even with XMP profile or manual settings :S but in cpu-z show the correct timmings.

  • Msi z77 mpower. higher than 8gb = reboot loop. help.

Hey guys I'm posting this in hopes that maybe someone could figure out what is causing my new build to reboot loop without post if I added anything higher than 8gb of ram stick. I updated the bios to latest non-beta version, drivers all updated, and made sure that all connectors were correct and properly attached.
    Here is my build:
    i7 3770k
    Corsair H80 liq.cooling
    MSI Z77 Mpower Mobo
    Corsair Vengeance 16gb (4x4gb) 1600MHz [9-9-9-24]
    Asus Geforce GTX 670
    Corsair AX850 psu
    2 WD Black 1gb HD
    Win 7 Ultimate 64bit SP1
Everything is at default options since I didn't want to overclock without including the full 4 sticks of ram. Whenever I add a stick into slots 1 or 2 while having a stick in either(or both) slots 3 and/or 4, and attempt to start it up, the mobo's debug shows 55(early memory initialization) and then gets stuck in a reboot loop. It boots up fine if I only add 1 stick in either slot 1 or 2 but if I add either a stick in slot 3 or 4 or add a stick in 2 while having a stick in 1, reboot loop occurs. I've searched everywhere for similar problems and actually did find one on this forums, https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=162331.0, except that the thread starter's problems were about getting the reboot loop problem after he has overclocked his system and nothing about the number of ram he has added.
fyi: the mobo names ram slots(from left to right) as slots 3, 4, 1, 2 (in case anyone gets confused reading what I have wrote above)
Some assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Honestly, it doesn't matter what slots are what number because I cannot add a 3rd stick (more than 8gb) without pc going into reboot loop and or any variations of dual channel setup without pc going into reboot loop.

Sounds like maybe the DRAM V. is being set too low by the BIOS. Raise it to 1.55-1.575v's and see if that resolves it.
using your #1 image, if i try to add stick in dimm1&3 or dimm2&4 it would reboot loop. If I tried 1&4 or dimm2&3 it would reboot loop.
If i tried dimm3&4 it would reboot loop.
BUT if I did dimm1&2 like I have it right now, it would boot up with no problems. I have already tried raising the DRAM V with no luck as well.

  • MSI Z77 Mpower, screen cannot be found.

    Hello!
Recently I was moving parts from my old case to a new one.
My old motherboard (ASUS P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3) stopped working, due a static shock or something.
I then bought a Z77 Mpower motherboard, PC started.
But my problem now is that Gainward 670GTX GPU cannot recognize my screen, I have tried HDMI and DVI as Ive always used.
The 670 card's fan is running, every LED light, fan inside the computer works. Cables are correct.
I tried with my old 560Ti from MSI and got picture on my screen within a secound.
Im pretty sure all the parts works together, anyways here is the setup im running:
    MSI Z77 MPower
    Intel i7 2600k
    Gainward 670GTX
    4x4GB Kingston DDR3 HyperX 1600MHz
    BenQ 24" LCD G2420HD
    Corsair CX 750W
Could be that the 670 GTX got a static shock as well? But then again, should the fan be running if it did?
Any suggestions, please and thank you.

The Beta's I linked are MSI releases, not hack files, so I use them if there is something in the change log that may benefit the system.
Please use the forum's USB flash method, very safe. Live Update for a BIOS flash sends shivers down my spine.
W8 huh? Well, I think we found the problem. The VBIOS needs to be updated to support GOP I think is the name of it? I am a staunch non supporter of W8, so I have not run into these W8 related problems.
Hopefully a forum mod or other user will be along shortly to advise on the steps to get your GTX 670 to work right.

  • Z77 MPOWER stuck at A2 fault code

    Hello!
Ive been working on this issue since yesterday morning and thought I would post here to see if the is a simple solution I am missing.
Completed the build about 4 months ago. Have had no problems. Computer was running fine, then it was left over night and it restarted and froze seconds into the boot showing A2 in the lower right hand corner of the screen. (it also reads on the motherboard LED panel) It is not finishing Post, entering BIOS or OS
    What I've tried so far:
1 Cleared CMOS via button on back. got to a screen that said everything had been reset to default values and to press f1 to set up or f2 to continue. When I press F1 it says "entering Setup..." on the bottom of the screen but goes no further. Sometimes the computer shuts off then comes back on, once back on it stops at displaying A2 on the screen. When I press f2 nothing happens.
2 Tried switching to other BIOS with MULTI-BIOS switch, Same issue.
3 I got a wired keyboard to make sure it was getting a signal. Issue remains.
4 I unplugged everything  except Ram, PSU, GPU, CPU. Issue remains
5 got a PSU tester, tested the PSU-was bad- so I replaced it. Issue remains.
6 Read that A2 was a VGA fault-Tried with onboard video. Bought a cheap Video card to see if that would work, Issue remains.
7 created bootable Bios memory card using tool from this forum and could not get it to boot from The thumb drive.
    Any ideas?

    Here is the list of codes;
    http://www.ami.com/support/doc/AMI_Aptio_4.x_Status_Codes_PUB.pdf
0xA2 IDE Detect  It's got nothing to do with VGA.
Use just one of the RAM sticks in the primary DIMM slot for testing (DIMM2). Clear CMOS again, PSU power cord removed, battery removed. Was this a migrated OS or fresh install? Z77 defaults to AHCI Mode, if the OS was originally installed under IDE, it will not boot.
    A2 may be a failed HDD/SSD.
Added: We have seen it many times that a PSU may even pass a test but still be faulty. Just saw it here at the forum yesterday. Exactly what did you replace the failed PSU with? Brand and specifications please. Cougar 1000 in your sig? I will look up specs for it.
    2nd add: Not too impressed with that multi +12v rail design. +12V1@24A, +12V2@24A, +12V3@24A, +12V4@24A, +12V5@28A, +12V6@28A
    This suggestion would be plenty of power for your system configuration and much better being a +12v single rail model;

Best troubleshooting thought I have is it is a failed SSD that has the OS on it.
