Zen Vision:M Defect!! No response from Customer Suppo

I owned zen vision:M for only two days but it gave me hard time. the buttons does not work at all. I've contacted the creative customer support but there is no response, here is the original message that I sent to the customer support:
<EM>This is very weird but please let me know if this is just the defect of one product or this is the common defect of Zen Vision M. The problem is like this:</EM>
<EM>I was lying on the bad while watching video on the player, I felt tired and turn around to the right side and I accidentally pressed a button on the player. Suddenly the light on the button became very dim(usually it is bright blue but it was dim dark blue at the time) and all of the buttons stopped functioning correctly!! The verticle touch pad did not work, the buttons went crazy and totally misfunctioning!! Luckily I bought a wired remote and when I tried to use it to control the player it worked. Seemed that it was the player itself that was not working. I tried to fix it and after I put the player in different directions and shaked it and randomly pressed the buttons, it went back to normal. The bad thing is, the next day this situation happened again -- when I lied on bed watching video and turned around and pressed some buttons, the player went nuts!! The only difference was that this time it took me much more time to get it back to normal and I don't know why and how I got it bad and got it work. </EM>
<EM></EM>
<EM>That is the description of the problem, God I owned the player for only two days and it gave me twice the weird experience, which I never want to experience again!! My guess is there might be some welds on the circuit that are not properly soldered. </EM>
<EM></EM>
<EM>Please give me a solution on it as soon as possible, so that I have time to decide if I am going to keep this player or return it. It is 3:30 in the morning and the player made me mad.</EM>
<EM></EM>
I do not comment on this but if anyone sees this message you can think it yourself. Anybody give me an advise, should I exchange for a new one or should I consider for an ipod.

The same thing has happened to me. I have not called Creative yet because I wanted to check here before to see if anyone has had the same problem. I turned it on this morning and none of the buttons were working correctly. Let me know if you get a response and what the solution is.

  • Is there a restock date on the Zen Vision M Black MP3 player from Creat

I just ordered a Zen Vision M Black through the Creative site directly (4/23/06), and I was wondering if anyone knows about how long it's going to take to get back into stock (it's listed as backordered). I emailed Creative long before I bought the item, and I haven't received a response yet. If anyone has heard anything, I'd love to hear it.
Also, let me know if I made the right decision. I'm upgrading from a 20GB Zen touch that I love, because the Vision M has more storage, and video.

  • Anyone getting response from customer services?

    Hi,
Just wondered if anyone had responses for customer services recently (ocss.msi.com.tw).  Been trying to get latest bios for the X48C since still have post problems.
I used to have a login for bioses but that's changed.  Obviously I wouldn't encourage anyone send new password..
Posted 8 days ago but still no reply.  They used to reply within a day or two.
    Cheers,

I made a post about 4 hours ago and received a reply just before, so yes - pretty quick too I must say.
Maybe they are investigating your request?

  • No Response From Customer Relations

So I sent an email to [email protected], and I have yet to receive a response (it has been about 2 days, which from what I have read, is longer than usual). Does this mean they are not going to respond, or should I give it more time?

I tried that and got nowhere, I am also reporting on a bad experiance in an apple store, it is really more of a customer relations problem than a tech support problem.
You should call Apple Customer Relations (800) 767-2775
They should be able to help you.

  • Skype blocked and no response from customer servic...

    Hi all,
I'm using Skype for more than 10 years and never had to sign in ever since that was done at startup automatically.
Now 2 days ago my wife had trouble on her laptop so I logged in on her laptop as admin to sort the problem and skype popped up there (while it was already active on my PC). I've cancelled it on the laptop, sorted the problem, logged off and returned to my PC to see the sign in screen of Skupe there.
As I said, I never had to sign in for more than 10 years and so I forgot the password. After several attempts the account was blocked. Now even worse, and that one is on me, the initial email address I've onced used to create the Skype account is no longer available (for many years) and I never set a new or alternative (I think).
The only method I've found to unblock and retrive my password is the support page where you have to complete a questionnaire. I've completed it to my best knowledge although some details might have been wrong because most of those details I've simply forgot because it was just too long ago that I've wrote these initially.  Upon completion the message was that I will be contacted soon (was it 24 hrs?). Anyway, I'm checking my email every day several times but no response.
I'm not blaming the support team. I do understand that they are very busy and that my partially false submission was probably filtered out and most likely never reached a person.
Now I've created a new Skype account (otherwise I could not post here) and wonder if there is any way to import my original contact list which is very important to me. I never made a backup of the contact list but all my original Skype account details are still on my PC.
Appreciate every help either on how to retrive my original account or how to get my original contacts into this new account.
    Cheers Euclid

  • Who in Creative has ultimate responsibility for customer suppo

Thank you to the moderators for getting Creative to act on my problem. Unfortunately though Creative have continued to 'stuff up'.
I have tried to escalate the problem but support continually refuse to provide contact details.
Below are extracts from my correspondence with Creative since I last posted. Note: I have excluded Creative's replies for privacy reasons.
    Correspondence #56
    (removed),
Thank you for replying to my email. When I spoke to Alvin on the phone he promised to send me an updated warranty form and asked that I address any future problems through him. It is well over 50 days since he telephoned me and to date I have still not received a copy of the updated warranty form as promised. I initially advised him of this latest faulty unit, however since he has not replied to either of my emails I unfortunately have to bother you.
I have packaged the unit as requested and it is ready for your courier to collect.
How do you want me to communicate with the courier so I can be sure there is someone home to give him the parcel?
    In regard to your statement?
?As mentioned previously, the service charge you had paid is use (sic) to cover the CUSTOM TAX that has already (been) imposed on the replacement unit. It is not for purchasing a new 2 months warranty.
Your comment is at odds with Creative Australia who believe they charged me $55 for a second warranty. The $55 invoice I received from them clearly stated the item I was paying for was a ?Warranty that is wording of the item that was actually printed on the invoice ? there was no mention of Customs Duty or anything similar ? the invoice simply said I was ?purchasing a warranty for $55. ? so lets finally agree on that. So as you can see irrespecti've of what they may have led us to believe, they actually charged me for a second warranty, not customs duty.
Also in regard to the comment?
    ?out of goodwill?
I have never heard such spin. I certainly do not think for one minute that Creative have done me any favours. I do not consider a saga involving 56 emails, unanswered requests for contact details, two faulty units, multiple promises not met and being fed misleading information as being a sign of ?goodwill?.
These comments are not directed at you personally (removed) as I know you are forced to ?spin the company line?.
I await your instructions as to how you want to arrange for the collection of the unit.
    Have a nice day.
    Thanks for your help,
    Regards,
    Nigel

Thank you for replying to my email and arranging for Creative Australia to collect the unit.
The good news is that Toll Ipec have already collected the unit.
However your requestI had informed the relevant department to contact you directly for arranging the collection. ?was ignored.
No-one contacted us to arrange a collection time. They were just lucky someone was home at the time the courier called.
I don?t know who ?the relevant department? is within Creative Australia but they didn?t follow your instructions
    Thanks for your efforts.

(From Creative asking for proof the product is under warranty)
    Correspondence #6
    (removed),
I am turning to you for help as you appear to be the only one at Creative who knows what is going on.
You may recall I asked for someone to contact me so I could arrange for someone to be home to give the faulty unit to the courier ? an instruction you passed on. However your requestI had informed the relevant department to contact you directly for arranging the collection. ?was ignored. Last Friday the courier turned up out of the blue to collect the unit. No-one contacted us to arrange a collection time. They were just lucky someone was home at the time the courier called.
Then yesterday, Tuesday, I receive a phone call from Creative to arrange a suitable time for the pick up. I informed the young lady it had been picked up four days ago.
Now I receive an email from ?Fred? asking if the product is still under warranty and asking for proof of purchase etc.
    What is going on?
Doesn?t anybody speak to anyone else at Creative?
Doesn?t Creative use a CRM system?
Unfortunately I am not able to give him proof of my warranty as I am still waiting to receive it from Alvin (it is now over 60 days since he promised to send it to me.)
On a positi've note just to let you know I have appreciated your help through this saga and have posted the following compliment in the Creative forums?
?Whilst I have been let down numerous times by Creative, credit where credit is due, and I would like to acknowledge the help I have received from (removed) at customer support. Sometimes you can tell he has been forced to 'push the company line' but has always passed on requests to other departments.
    (removed),
    Can you please?
. Get Alvin to send me the adjusted warranty.
    2. Inform Fred the unit is well and truly under warranty and that I will not be paying one more cent.
    3. Arrange to get it fixed/replaced and returned to me post haste.

    Correspondence #63
    Alvin,
You promised to personally look after me if I experienced any further problems and asked that I contact you directly, hence this email.
My second faulty Creative Zen Micro was collected by Toll Ipec on Friday st September 2006 to be taken to Creative for replacement.
It is now Monday 6th October, 46 days later and I have not received a replacement unit, nor any correspondence to explain the delay.
    Would you please:
    (a) Advise when I will receive the replacement unit
    (b) Take note that I expect Creative to add the 46 days to my warranty period which will now expire on August 2007 plus one day for every day until I receive the replacement unit. If this is not acceptable please provide me with the name of the Australian manager so I can take the matter further.
    (c) Provide me a copy of the updated Warranty form as you promised over 00 days ago.
In correspondence #62 (removed) stated ?I had notified our Australian Service Center regarding the following matter and they will be processing your replacement as normal.
Please advise what Creative classifies as a ?normal time for replacement?. Should your reply be greater than 46 days I will understand my expectation was too great and wait accordingly.
    I await your response.
If you would rather I take my problems to someone else please advise.
    regards,
    Nigel

I received this reply when I sent Creative #63 to Alvin Rebulado.
?Recipient address rejected: No such user ([email protected])?
Would I be correct in assuming Alvin no longer works for Creative?
If so would you please either (a) follow up for me or (b) advise to whom I should address this matter.

In your email on 7th October 2006 you stated?
?You may wish to know that I had escalated the following matter to the relevant personnel for further follow up. Please allow us some times (sic) to process it.
I have not yet received a response.
How long does the ?relevant personnel? need to ?process? this problem? The unit was collected on st September 2006 and it is now 3rd November 2006.
Please provide me with the name and contact details of the ?relevant personnel? to whom you escalated this matter so I can contact them directly.
What does it take to get people at Creative to ?do their job?
I repeat the points made in Correspondence #64?
    Would you please?
    (a) Advise when I will receive the replacement unit ? I am not interested in you ?passing the problem? onto some mystical ?relevant personnel? or ?responsible department? just find out for yourself and let me know. If you are not capable of doing this please give me the details of someone who can.
    (b) Take note that I expect Creative to add the period of time from when the unit was collected until I receive the replacement to my warranty period. As of today this is 63 days which means my warranty will now expire on 8 August 2007. If this is not acceptable please provide me with the name of the manager who has rejected this fair and logical request so I can deal with that person directly.
    (c) Provide me a copy of the updated Warranty form as promised by Alvin over 20 days ago.
I hereby advise that if I do not receive a suitable response to my questions I will publish this complete saga on the net in an effort to reach ?someone? in Creative who understands customer service. If you or Creative have a problem with this please advise me in writing. Unless I hear otherwise I will take it that Creative are happy for me to share my experiences on the web.
    Yours in anticipation,

  • Zen Vision:M doesn't want to work! He

My problem is kinda complicated. When I turn my ZV:M it doesn't load, but the blue light where you turn it on lights up and it stays that way. If you reset it, the blue light is turned off while you're pressing the reset button, when you finish pressing it, the light appears again and it doesn't load, the light just stays on there. It won't let me go to safe mode.
This is not the first time it happens. The first time it happened I tried all kinds of things and then I plugged it to the charger, then tried again all the possible things you can try, and it finally worked when I reset it (after numerous times of trying). I turned it off, went to Safe Mode and did a clean up, everything worked fine and I turned it off for good, after charging it. I never used it again until today, that I turned it on and only the blue light lit up, again. Now I can't get it to work in any way.
I bought it in June of last year and the one I have is a replacement, because the original one I bought was deffecti've as well, so I'm still in the one year warranty.
    Help!

So I pretty much explained in detail that my player is not responsi've - at all. And this is what I get as a reply from Customer Service, through e-mail... which pretty much makes me feel stupid and offended.
I really hope that this works out well in the end, now that I replied to this e-mail, or I am definetly changing my view for future purchases, since this is getting old and obvious. Fi've different players in 2 years - 3 Zen Micro's and 2 Zen Vision:M's for now.....from all those together, 4 deffecti've and that didn't get the chance to show deffects because it was thrown into the pool...
Thank you for reaching us at Creative Email Technical Support; we
appreciate the opportunity to assist you.
With regards to your enquiries, I understand that the Zen Vision:M is

Recovery Mode: What to Do And How To Access
    To access the Recovery Mode:
If the battery is too low, charge the battery fully before continuing.
Detach the ZEN Vision:M from the PC and ensure that the unit is off.
Slide the Power switch towards the Power icon and hold the switch in the
    Power On position.
Push the end of a pin-like object (for example, a straightened paper
clip) into the reset hole, press gently and remove.
In the Recovery Mode, please select Option (Clean Up). If the issue
persists, please select Option 2 (Format All). If possible, please back
up the data/contents on your player to a secure location before

  • ZEN Vision:M problem selecting from the men

Just like the title says, I'm having trouble accessing any of the menus(photos, videos, extras, etc..) from the menu on my ZEN Vision:M. I've tried pressing the touchpad to select a menu option but no luck, I've also tried just pressing the "right" button to enter a sub menu but no luck. I can scroll up and down in the menu and if a song is playing I can also adjust the volume but its like i have no option to select. I downloaded the newest version of firmware by my model, I've tried formating the player but still stuck with the same problem.
Also, when in recovery mode I cant select any of the options listed in the menu.
I just bought this Device from DELL.com w/ Extended Service Protection but Im beginning to think I got a defecti've product.
If anyone could help with this frustration it'd be great
    Thanks for reading.

I just contacted Dell and I'm returning for a refund. After several more attempts to try and reboot, relaod firmware to try and solve any problem with it I decided to call it quits and just chalk it up to a PoS mp3 player. I have had a 20g Samsung player for 3 years now and have had no problem with it at all. The only thing is that its not compatible with subscription services such as Napster to Go. I think I will look into a new Samsung or something else.
    Good Luck

So, you need an older version of the iOS app, because the current version no longer works on your iPod touch.
If you do regular backups of your hard drive (as you should), such as by using Apple's built-in Time Machine (if you use a Mac), you may find the older version of the app in the backup archive, and restore it (replacing the newer version).  They are stored in the iTunes Media folder, in the Mobile Applications sub-folder.  You should then be able to sync the older version to your iPod touch.
I can't think of any other way to get it back...
NOTE:  An 2nd gen iPod touch can run up to iOS 4.2.1.  If your iPod touch is running something earlier, and that is why the app no longer works, you can also consider updating the iPod's iOS.
I use an even older iPhone (original).  I avoid this potential problem by aways updating its apps on the iPhone, not in iTunes on the computer.  When I do it on the iPhone, it will not download a newer version of an app that won't run on my old iPhone.

  • Root element is missing - Response from a WCF service - WCF-Custom adapter

    hi BizTalk experts,
In the production environment, as soon as the response is getting subscribed by the orchestration, the orchestration instance is getting suspended and the error that shows up in console is
    "Root element is missing".
I have checked the actual response message in the console it is a well formed xml. This is happening only for a few responses from the WCF services. A majority of them are getting processed successfully. I have tried getting the parsing the response in a
pipeline (using custom pipeline component, the production one uses xml receive) and pass it to the orchestration, but it fails giving the same error.
    Thanks in advance.

Do you have any mapping done on the response message from the WCF service . ?
If so Better to copy the suspended message coming from the WCF service and validate against the custom response Schema you have created.
Note : You can try running fiddler tool to check the response from from the web service incase of failure.
Also try logging the message in the event viewer or any debug tool.
    Thanks

  • Windows XP Service Pack 2 Installed, still no response from Zen

I'm at a complete loss what to do now. My Zen Vision M will not connect to my computer. I've done everything suggested in these forums and more. I spent $30 on a high quality Belkin 2.0 USB port and installed it properly. I spent $20 on an AC charger to make sure it was not an issue with charging from the USB port. After 5 hours of waiting on my 56K modem connection I was able to install Service Pack . When this didn't work, I ordered Service Pack 2, waited over a week for it to come. I recieved Service Pack 2 today and installed it properly. Nothing. Why with all these fixes is it still not showing up as connected? I've followed every step to restart, format, and clean up the Zen. I've selected "everyone" in the registery to make sure Windows is allowing it to show up. I've restarted, restarted, reinstalled, restarted, etc., over and over again. It CAN connect, because I am able to use it as a removable storage device. But you cannot play music through this, so what's the point? What else can I do? I would just return the stupid thing, but it was a gift, and I'm trying my best to make it work.

My computer is fully up to date now, I doubt it would work on anyone else's computer after all the hot fixes, patches, and windows updates I've installed. I don't know ANYONE who keeps their computer that updated.
I did try it on one friend's computer, and nothing. I really don't know anyone elses' I could try it on. And even then, yeah I highly doubt it would work.
How much does it cost to send it to creative? Because I've already spent $50 of my own money on this, nevermind how much my dad must have spent buying the thing in the first place.

  • Zen Vision:M - How do you transfer files directly from Zen V:M 30GB to Zen V:M 6

I just bought a 60 GB Zen Vision:M to replace my 30 GB model. Does anyone know how I can copy my files from the old player to the new player directly without having to put them on my PC? I read the manual and played around with the Creative Media Explorer and Windows Media Player, but it's not apparent to me.
    Thanks!

    Hello all:
I have an idea for those who are looking to add album art:
I have yet to see if it works with the Vision:M (mine will be here next week), but I used mediamonkey to add album art to my mp3 catalog (,200+ songs). Its easy to do and you can add art to an entire album of songs at one time. It uses Amazon's database for album art. As long as you have things properly tagged its completely automated (It took me ~.5 hours to ad album art to my entire collection). It will also ask you if you want the picture to be embedded in the id3 tag (which as far as I know you do for the Vision:M). Finally, mediamonkey is a great Mp3 management tool. Its free and you can get it at www.mediamonkey.com.

  • Swap songs from old ZEN VISION:M to a new one

The screen is broken on my ZEN VISION:M so I can't operate it much at all. Also, it has to be plugged in to run. I am stuck on one song, but I can play and hear it.
Is it possible/advisable to just buy another one and take all the tracks from the old broken one and drop them into the new one?
    Thanks for any help
    Tod

    Hi Timcmahon,
The ZEN Vision:M has already reached it's end of service life. If you are able to connect it to your computer and see the device listed, you should be able to access the directory and copy the song out onto your computer without the need to see the player screen.
Once you are able to copy that onto your computer, you can transfer it to any player of your choice.
    Cheers,
    Colin-CL

  • Transferring FROM Zen Vision M to Compu

Hi there, I have a 30Gb Zen Vision M, I have no problems connecting to thecomputer and finding the player, it will transfer from the computer to the player but will simply NOT transfer from the player to the Computer.
I am using a DLO (Brand Name) cable.
Can anyone help, I lost all music on the computer, i have it all on the player, but cant back it up.

Well i did try, but still it was the same.... and now it seems the files have disappeared! i'm so confused! i always thought of Creative products being relati'vely simple (despite a few minor problems with my player when i first purchased it) so i'm shocked that i cannot copy over music files by dragging and dropping. Any other ideas?Scene!Kid
