Greetings,
Can you please tell me what model Laserjet you are working with?
Also, how are you trying to connect with this laserjet, USB or Wifi?

Printer not working following iPad upgrade

    Hi,
Is the printer not mechanically working or are you having a problem with printing wirelessly from your device? Was the upgrade to the ipad software or did you get a new ipad?
Try restarting your apple device - It's a simple fix that sometimes helps re-establish the connection to the printer.
Other things to check would be that there have been no recent changes to the wifi password.

  • File- Print not working from SQL Developer 1.2.1 Build MAIN-32.13

File->Print not working from SQL Developer 1.2.1 Build MAIN-32.13.
I downloaded sqldeveloper-1.2.1.3213.ZIP and extract to a local directory. From the extracted directory I ran ..\sqldeveloper\sqldeveloper.exe from Windows XP sp2. The program itself seems to run just fine but File-Print doesn't do anything. In Help-About, Java Platform is reported as 1.5.0_06 and Oracle IDE is 1.2.1.3213. I'm not sure where to look for what is causing the problem.
    Thanks

I hadn't tried CTRL-P before but I did today. On the first attempt, I saw a small jump in the memory usage for sqldeveloper.exe as reported in Windows Task Manager. Otherwise, there was no change. A second CTRL-P in the same session produced a further bump but subsequent attempts in the same session produced no further change in CPU or Memory Usage.
Using Task Manager to monitor this further, I tried File->Print again and saw that sqldeveloper would periodically climb to 1 or 2 percent CPU and consume a little more memory. After a minute or so, though, all activity stops again.
I do not get a print dialog box from SQLDeveloper using either CTRL-P or File->Print

I cant access any printers, not even the virtual printers.
What I would do is use ProcMon to find out why that Event entry was written.  Then I imagine I would get a clue about a .dll which might be involved, which hopefully might be registerable.  Since IE9 there have been new .dll  involving printing
which have not been reflected in any of our repair tools.  However, instead of modifying our old scripts to reflect this fact, I have been advocating, so far unsuccessfully, that Microsoft create a proper IE Repair tool, one which does not rely on such
unreliable techniques.   E.g. a better method of repairing would be to have it done by a proper troubleshooter (an .msdt file) but so far it seems nothing has been done in that way for these symptoms (again, assuming the cause is registry corruption
and not simple interference from now incompatible third-party programming--the fix for that would be to identify and remove the incompatibilities.)   For example.

  • HP laserJet P1006 not working on Windows 10. Please help

HP laserJet P1006 not working on Windows 10. Please help

  • HP LaserJet P1005 Two-sided printing not working on network

    Good day!
I have a desktop, with Windowx XP, to which my LaserJet P1005 is connected via USB. My wife has a laptop, with the same Windows XP, from which she can print, but the two-sided option does not work right. She can check it and print, but the window to restart printing for the second side does not open and there is nothing we can do at this point.
I have trie duninstalling the printer from both computers and reinstalling the newest drivers, it still won't work.
    Thanks for your help!

I have an HP PhotoSmart 2575 All-in-One with the latest HP driver that displays the two-sided printing option greyed-out in the Layout window. According to HP, your printer must be capable of accepting an optional two-sided printer tray to work on a Mac. To me that is ludicrous since in Windows the driver supports manual two-sided printing.
To get around this, I select the Paper Handling window and from the Pages to Print drop-down list select Odd only instead of the default All Pages. After clicking the print button the odd pages print starting with the last page and ending with the first. I then remove all paper and reinsert the printed pages with the top of the page facing the printer. First, though, I reorder the pages with the first page on the bottom and the last page on top. If the total number of pages is an odd number, I remove the last page from the inserted stack, as that is the very last printed page. I then select Even only from the Pages to Print drop-down list and click print again.
    Problem solved.

  • HP Laserjet 5M not working under 10.8.5

This is the official guidance for Laserjet printer capability in Mountain Lion 10.8...
    http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?objectID=c03411613
    HP LaserJet 5, 5L, 5N, 5P, 5se, and 5si Printer series
NOTE: While most of the LaserJet 5 series products are not supported, the LaserJet 5m, 5mp, and 5si mx printers ARE supported.
I have a Laserjet 5M that is connected by ethernet cable direct to my iMac. It has TCP/IP enabled and the self test shows that it has JetDirect J2552A and an IP address of 192.0.0.192. My System preferences Network panel recognises when the printer is on or off and allocates an IP in the format of 169.111.111.111.
I have tried numerous methods to re-establish connection to this printer, including using the Jetdirect connection method and selecting different drivers.
    The printer has worked and connected reliably since 1996 under Mac OS 7, 8, 9, 10, 10.3, 10.4, 10.5.8, 10.6 ... but not in 10.8
Yes, it's an old printer, but it is a reliable workhorse and perfectly capable of printing if 10.8 continues to support it, as HP says it should.
HP says it is supported - please can someone explain how to add it to my printer list and get printing again

    Thank you PAHU
I can change the settings in my network panel but there isn't the option to specify manual IP on the printer menu options. I have tried resetting I/O and have also tried switching BOOTP off. I also tried connecting it via ethernet to the broadband router (instead of direct cable from the iMac) but that didn't give it an IP. I can read the IP settings for the printer by printing out the self test pages. If I set them both to 192.0.0.192 it results in an error with ARP Duplicate IP address.
Just to clarify, this printer has the standard ethernet card installed.
When I connect via the broadband router (located in another room) it uses a standard ethernet cat 5 cable. When I connect direct to iMac I'm using a special ethernet cat 5 cable which uses crossover rather than  straight-through connections. http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/34C3163EFAC9F30E86256B8F0060AD0C
The iMac detects when the printer is on.
The printer detects when the IP address setting on the ethernet card was conflicting.
Everything was working fine under 10.5.8... it's the upgrade to 10.8.5 that broke this.
I think the think that has changed is Appletalk/Ethertalk, although the printer does support TCP/IP connections.

  • HP Laserjet Printer not available in Time Capsule settings

I have an HP Laserjet P1005 printer; very basic stuff. I had previously set it up so that it was connected to my Time Capsule. There were a few issues (I had to connect my MacBook Pro to the Time Capsule via LAN cable for the printing jobs to actually print) but I could use the printer.
I have recently moved offices which required disconnecting everything including my TC. Again, nothing unusual here and when I connected everything in I got back to work no problem. However, I can no longer use the printer (not even when I connect my laptop directly to the TC. I've gone into the TC settings to see that there is no printer linked to the TC. I've tried many times to set up a new printer in my preferences, but when I try to manually change the settings through Airport Utilities there is no printer available for me to choose.
Am I setting up the printer incorrectly? Maybe someone can help me set up the printer so that it comes up when I open Airport Utilities? And why do I always need to connect my laptop to the TC when I want to print; is it because the printer is pretty basic and can't link this way?
Any help will be greatly appreciated!
    Andrew

I'm not sure if the following will help but here goes.  I have two printers on my time capsule---A Brother multifunction that I have had on for about 2 1/2 years and recently added a HP Deskjet(both on USB). I first installed the printer directly to my iMac to make sure that I have no printer driver issues etc.  Then I plugged the two printers into a USB switch(forgot to turn the HP printer on).. Then I figured my problem out.  Printers only show up in the Airport utility if they are turned ON.
    May be this will help.

  • HP Laserjet 1020 not working through remote desktop

I have a hp laserjet 1020 that I am vpn and remote desktop to a computer at work. I am suupose to be able to print from remote desktop to my local printer (the hp laserjet 1020) using the microsoft terminal Easy Print. The printer is showing up in the printer list, but when I try to print I get an error of Printer not ready.  The printer is working fine on the local machine, just not through the remote desktop. I have install the printer drivers on the machine that I am remoting into , just to make sure. Is there anything else I can try. I am not finding any firewalls on either end blocking it?

After many months of frustration and 7 1/2 hours with Microsoft advanced prof support I've finally pinned down this printer and a slew of others.  This problem as far as I have come across deals exclusively with HP printers.  In simple terms:  the drivers are flawed.  This 1022 is a prime example.  It prints locally and via TCP/IP just fine. I have about 7 other printers and dummy printers in my printer folder.  Enter a remote desktop session and ALL of them populate except the 1022.  This shows that the hooks and RDT finders are locating your printers and installing them properly as remote printers.  All except the 1022.
Log out of your RDT session: goto the local 1022 setup and change the printer driver to a PCL driver.  I used a 1200 PCL driver.  Now log back into your RDT server and hockus pocus! there is your printer.  Totally un-usable because the driver will not run this printer.  Caveat:  each time I did this XP crashed (I couldn't get to the properties TAB anymore -- I had to un-install the 1022 and then re-install it with at least 1 reboot in the process)
Moving on we go to the HP OfficeJet/LajerJet2840.  Same thing.  It won't pass through as remote printer in RDT.  Go local.  Set the printer driver to AppleLaserWriter8500 and boom. (same logout, change, back in steps) and your LJ2840 shows up and works.
While I will have to wait until tomorrow I am betting that this will fix the exact same problem with the HP Officejet 8500A all in one with the exact same problem.
Hey HP?  Whats with the drivers??
Another work around if you have a static enough environment is to install your local printer that will not show up under RDT on the server, and then point the port to your fixed IP on your router, and passthru port 9100 to your locally installed printer that is failing.  You can now be on RDT and chooses the network printer that is printing to the TCP address of your home (or office) router.

    thanks for the help!!!

    Hello nyc213,
It sounds like you are unable to use your LaserJet printer with your computer. I recommend the troubleshooting in the following article named:
OS X Mavericks: Solve printing problems
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH14142
    Check the printer
Go to the printer and check the following:
It’s turned on and is displaying normal status lights.
It has paper, and the paper isn’t jammed.
It has enough ink or toner.
    Its cables are properly connected.
If your printer is attached to your computer’s USB port, open System Information, then click USB. If the printer’s name appears in the hardware list but the printer doesn’t work, review the printer’s documentation for further troubleshooting information.
    Check your device’s USB connection
If the printer is on the network, open Printers & Scanners preferences, then add the printer again to create a new printer queue. For instructions, see:
    Set up a printer
Use the best software for your printer
Make sure you have the correct version of your printer’s software (also called its printer driver).
If you’re using a printer that another user is sharing, make sure you’re both using the same version of the printer software. To find out which version you’re using, select the printer in Printers & Scanners preferences, click Options & Supplies, then click General. Note the driver version.
If you’re using a network printer or a printer attached to your Mac, make sure you have the latest version of the software for the printer. If you still have problems, try different printer software for your printer.Change or update printer software
If you still can’t print, reset the printing system.
    Reset the printing system
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Take care,
    Sterling

  • Local Printer not working via Remote Link

I have a problem with my remote desktop printing to my local printer.  I connect via RD on Windows 7 Home to Windows 7 Pro.  I have installed an HP Laserjet Pro CM1415fn printer.  All prints fine locally.  Also everything printed fine
but have had to have a recent update to my Remote PC that I log into.  So the printer had to be reinstalled.
All worked ok for about 6 print jobs then stopped working.  Nothing has changed.  I have changed the settings on the printer as it seemed to be when the printer went into 'Sleep' mode.  I have tried restarting the Printer Spooler in Services
and rebooting the remote PC but no joy.
    Any ideas please.

    Hi,
You mean after the reinstallation, the local printer worked for a while and then stopped working with nothing changed?
Take a try with the printer troubleshooter:
    Open the Printer troubleshooter
Also see if the below thread could help:

  • Upgraded from 10.5 to 10.6. IP Printing not working?

    Hello,
I recently upgraded from 10.5 to 10.6 Snow Leopard and as I knew, our Appletalk Printers no longer showed up. I knew this would be the case and tried adding the printers via IP. I've printed out the spec sheets from the printers to obtain the IP addresses. I entered them and from what I can tell, everything went fine. It said it was a valid IP and each of the printers showed up under the list of printers. When I went to print none of them work. It says it can't find it on the network. As a side note (or possibly the problem) when I found the printers via IP address, it did not put the name of the printer in the name field but the IP Address itself. Is this normal and can I change the name to the actual printer name OR should the printer name show up automatically?
    Here are the printers:
    HP Laserjet 5000
    Kyocera 5035
    Kyocera 1650
    Here is what I've tried:
    1. Software Update… until I could update no more.
    2. Updated all print drivers. Each of them show up in the "Select Printer Software" dropdown menu.
    3. Reset Printing System in the Print & Fax menu.
    4. Replaced the "CUPS" directory/older via this links instructions. http://www.gcsdblogs.org/roodhouse/?p=2349
I am currently repairing permissions. Right now the estimated time is 2 HOURS. Incredibly long but maybe due to the upgrade??
Any and all help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.
    Randy

    Addition:
The repair permissions/cup folder move I mentioned above did not work. I have now also tried changing the ownership of one of my kyorera files to "root" as mentioned in another post on here yet that did not work either.
Thanks again for any help you can provide. I keep scouring these forums but have yet to find anything.

    Hi Dinesh_G,
Sorry for the delayed response.  Try adding an alternate driver.  Here is a link that will provide steps for that.  Click Here  Check which PCL driver you are currently using and add the alternate (PCL5/PCL6).  Please see the below for additional clarification.
Utilize the above link for exact steps on adding the driver.
    1. Check which driver currently used-PCL5 or PCL6-this will be located near name of driver in print folder or print properties
    2. Follow steps provided in link to add whichever one the currently installed driver is using
         A.  Select HP as manufactuer
         B.  Select HP universal printing PCL 6 or HP universal printing PCL 5
    3. Attempt duplex print job
    Hope this helps!
