Been trying to use an external memory card reader with my macbook air… connecting via usb port, air does not recognize device nor the microSD card from my gopro … help
Some external ones do not work with the Mac's although most do. There are some driver compadibility issues with Mavericks, so I would wait for an update.

My ipod ejects itself, immediately after connecting with usb cable, before synchronizing could start. What’s wrong?
Have you tried plugging the iPod in with a different USB sync cable to verify the issue is not with the cable? It might not also hurt to connect it to another USB port as well.
Otherwise, try manually placing the iPod into Disk Mode and then connecting it to your PC.

I have a Canon LBP5360 laser printer connected via USB cable to my MacPro running 10.6.8
I have downloaded the latest UFR II driver. (UK Version)
I am trying to connect to the printer but the printer is not appearing in my Print/Fax Preferences.
When I click the box "More Printers" under the Default printer the drop down box gives me a heading "Canon IPv6 (UFRII) with the option to add or cancel. (The add is highlighted). But there are no printers showing in the box. Nothing. Can anyone help?

Problem solved. I needed to reinstall my Apple Mobile Driver. I found the solution on this web site.

Last night after the release of 10.5 itunes, my iphone is not detected in itunes. I dont know what's the problem, I am on Windows 7 and It's able to detect my iphone just as a camera. I've tried using it on my friends laptop running windows vista, there i'm able to detect my iphone but no on my comp.
I've tried starting services from Administration i.e. apple mobile and ipod services.
But i'm not able to find any solution to it. Do let me know guys if any one of you is facing this problem with me and does anyone has the solution to it?
Thanks alot guys,I am having the same problem although I think mine is probably worse than yours. My iphone was detected by itunes both after i updated it to iOS 5.01 and after i jailbroke it. I then downloaded a few cydia apps and it would no longer detect my camera folder on my computer...so I said screw it I'll start over. So I deleted all the cydia apps/tweaks I downloaded and then I was able to see my camera folder again.
BUT WAIT now itunes wont detect my iphone. I tried redownloading all my tweaks and apps but I still get nothing. I tried reinstalling cydia but still nothing. I tried connecting my iphone to another computer with a fresh copy of itunes and still nothing. This is REALLY bad since now I can't even restore my iphone. PLEASE HELP! -
I can no longer print via wifi. I could at one time but now I have to connect to printer with USB. All settings appear correct in printer and macbook. Sys pref shows printer with green light next to idle. Sending a print prompt results in "searching for printer, printer not found, ensure printer is turned on". I have reinstalled printer in my print list and reinstalled printer software on macbook. Kodak 5250 AiO printer shows it's configured for and on wifi channel. I go online with laptop using wireless but cannot print. Help!
If you know the IP address of the printer, then you can check if there is a working path between the Mac and printer. This can be done using Network Utility or a web browser.
If you open Network Utility and select the Ping tab, you can enter the IP address of the Kodak and then press the Ping button. If there is a working connection then you should get a reply to each packet sent.
With the web browser, many devices have a built-in web server so you can type the IP address of the printer into the browser and if there is a working connection then you will open the printers web page.
So, are you able to confirm you have a working connection between the Mac and printer? -

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just cancelling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

FCE V4 does not recognize Panasonic SDR-H20 Camera connected via USB
I've just got FCE V4 and connected it to my imac and started using FCE V4. FCE says it cant locate my video camera 'Apple Firewire NTSC (720 x 480)'. I chose DV-NTSC in the Easy Setup because that was the default and I don't know what else to choose. I don't have a firewire cable, just the USB. The camera is recognized okay by iMovie. Does anyone know whether I need to:
1. Get a firewire cable and connect that to the camcorder and imac
2. Choose something other than DV-NTSC in 'Easy Setup'
or if this camera SDR-H20 Video Camera does not work with FCE?

PegThis camera will not work directly with FCE.
FCE needs TAPE cameras shooting DV or HDV.
The only other types of cameras that will work are those shooting AVCHD (High Definition).
You will have to download the video files and convert them to DV with something like MPEG Streamclip:-

I followed a Mac forum to open the Ipad in itunes, then click on File sharing. The only option is imovie- but here are no actual files to share inside tht app...

Wifi and Bluetooth Hardware not getting detected
Hi, I need help from HP. Wifi and Bluetooth hardware on my laptop are not getting detected. I have installed the drivers properly but the hardware itself is not detected when I start the notebook. The wifi had problems initially but then it worked fine for sometime and now it is not detected at all. Same is the problem with bluetooth also. Since the wifi and bluetooth functions come from the same mini-pcie card it seems likely it has failed. This is the Service Manual: Your Manual See p. 61. Unfortunately getting to the module requires extensive disassembly, but short of removing the motherboard. The wireless module itself will be very inexpensive. But you may need to pay somebody to install it. If this is "the Answer" please click "Accept as Solution" to help others find it.
