Work center hierarch cumulation problem
hi
I am trying to cumulate capacity requirement from 3 work centers...I created a work center hierarchy as below steps but I cann't see the cumulate result..it prompt no available capacity requirement or work center exist..anyone knows what I should do next?I can do capacity leveling/evaluation,so I think my IMG setting is good..i searched the SDN forum but no workable solution for me..

Create a new WC (in CR01) as category 0004. This will be the top level WC in your hierarchy.
Create a hierarchy (in CR21).
Add your 5 lathes and the newly created top level WC to the hierarchy (in CR22). This can be tricky: the WC you just created must be the top level, the other 5 must be under it.
Pull the capacity data (in CM01) for the hierarchy: go to settings, hierarchy, check the cumulation of requirements and capacities and type the hierarchy name.
Route things as before, to the original 5 lathes.
Hi ,
Dispatching is used to allocate or schedule the planned orders in the work center/resource.
We can use CM25 transaction-Graphical planning board for dispatching.
Planner can assign /dispatch the planned orders manually here. He can see graphically the planned orders overload work center which are dispatched with other.
Using cm21 you can do capacity levelling graphically or using cm22 can do cap levelling using tabular column.I feel using this would be easy.

CR10----WORK CENTER CHANGE DOCUMENT PROBLEM
HI FRIENDS,
CR10 SHOWS U THE CHANGE DOCUMENT FOR WORK CENTER.
I HAVE ALREADY TICKED THE CHECK BOXES IN OP40 TO REFLECT CHANGES MADE IN WORKCENTER TO THE DOCUMENT SHOWN IN CR10.

Regarding work center hierarchy
Hi all,
I have 2 work centers liked to a superior work center in a hirarchy.
Is it possible to do capacity planning at the superior work center level.
The scenario is like this - I will get planned order at a superior work center level. I will convert the planned order into 2 production orders with child work centers in respective order.
Now I want that, when I see the capacity overview for the superior work center, it should be full. That means I want to link the capacities of the child work centers to the parent work center.
Please let me know if it is possible ?

Work center hierarchies are used in capacity planning to cumulate available capacity and capacity requirements. You can cumulate available capacities from subordinate work centers to a superior work center level in order to determine the total available capacity for the superior work center.
In your situation, I think you need to create two planned orders with the two work centers and after this you will be able to see the capacity requirements cumulated at the superior WC.

Wrong Work center picking up Time sheet
Hi
Scenario is as follows:
Earlier Employee has HR assignment to one Work center 1 -WC1
Later, Employee was Assigned to Work center 2- WC2
Problem: When booking time sheet in CAT2 , for service order, WC1 was picking up, even though in Service order WC2 is assigned.
We have deleted the Employee HR assignment from WC1 , but still in Time sheet WC1 is coming.
Please suggest.
Thanks.Is it possible for anyone to tell, from where the work center is being picked up in CAT2. We are processing time sheet booking for service order. The work center in service order is something different than what is picked up in CAT2.

The idea ist to download a complex hierarchy to a file and then upload it to another system/ client.

I just tried the way you suggested:
- RCRAPDX1 downloaded a txt to presentation server with data.
- changed only the plant in file.
- run RCRAPDX2
unfortunately result is that ths system try to maintain the work centers within the file,
(which are already maintained).
The hierarchy structure won't be maintained.
So what I look for is a manner to transport the complete hierarchy structure...

Does anyone uses workcenter hierarchies to cumulate capacity requirements ?
I've created a hierarchy but in the capacity evaluation transaction cm01,
the capacity requirements are not cumulated from the underlying work center.
Instead a capacity requirement of zero is shown on the hierarchy work center.
Is there any specifics to cumulate the capacity requirement to work center hierarchy header

In the transaction CM01, choose the pull-down menu Settings-> General. In the pop-up screen, under the "Herarchy" tab, select the check boxes "Cumulation of reqmts" and "Dyn. capacity cumulation", choose the "Hierarchy" and "Plant" and click on "Continue".
Now the "Available Capacity" will be as per hierarchy setup and Rem. avail cap = Reqmts-Available capacity.
Hope this solves the requirement.

I have one dought in work center.I have 10 macines entered in place of individual capacities.so system calculate the capacity planning for 10 mc.Some times i will send 2mc for engineering department regarding for repairing.but next when run the mrp system will calculate the capacity for 10 mc.but i want only 8 mc.Is there any solution for solved this problem.

Is Plant maintenence module implemented in your industry , if it is Implemented when ever the work center is under maintenence i,e when a maintenence work order is there , then there are some customization settings are there which blocks the machine for production this will obviously show the remaining capacity of the machines which are available for production .Let me know wheather PM module is implemented or not .

i am creating work center using " CRAP_WORKCENTER_CREATE ", it is also getting created successfully when I try to check CAPACITY for capacities and scheduling it is giving a error called.

Work Center-doubt in defining Available capacity

I have some work centers for which i haven't defined any shifts,i have defined start time,end time & total break time & no of individual capacities ,now the client reqmnt is as follows
No of Individual capacities -7 for 1st shift
No fo individual Capcities -4 for 2nd shift
How to do that?

In defining work break down schedules:
Keep the key say BR1 in the column "BREAK"& go on changing the numbers 1.2......in the column B.No.input you values of diferent timings in the other columns.Save the values
Then in the shift defininition tab. input the value BR1 .
then break time will appear cumulated value.
then use this shift sequence in your work center.
It willsolvew your problem.

Estimated Start time in notification based on Time defined in Work center

Following Satish post- I am trying to find solution to the same problem so i will appreciate any advise.
When the notification is created ,the estimated start time should be based on priority .This in iteslf is pretty straight & simple. However if the reported time is after work hours or towards the end of work hours or weekends , the estimated start time should be reflected accordingly based on factory calender & work center time schedule.
In other words the estimated start time should fall within the window of work hours available.
Example:
Presume the the working hours for the Organization are 8:00AM to 5:00 PM & a call comes for service at 4:00 PM. Also say , for high priority the defined response time is 5 hours. In such a instance the estimated start date should be set to next day at 11:00 AM.
Appreciate your help for the configuration that need to be done

I think ur talking about notification malfunction start time .. currently it just takes the system date and time by default .. and if you need work center timings i believe first u need the eqpt /F.loc to get the work center data in notificaiton ...
I think u can get these dates can be modified while saving by using user exit : QQMA0014 QM/PM/SM: Checks before saving a notification or BADI IF_EX_NOTIF_EVENT_SAVE , but at the same time the eqpt or F.loc have work center details in master record ...or work center needs to be entered manually in notification ..., pls check up ..

Work center change in Service order not happening
Hi Experts,
I am facing a problem when i try to Call a function module in update task where the Function module contains a call to BAPI_ALM_ORDER_MAINTAIN without COMMIT WORK.
This is done in order to update the Work Center while there are changes to the Warranty Status of the Repair Order.
So , i have written the Code in the Userexit_SAVE_Document so that the Update gets done.
But there might be problems when the Repair order does not get saved.
So keeping that scenario in mind, I tried using the Update task Function Module in which i wil lbe calling the BAPI for Changing/Updating the Service order.
BUT , The Change is not getting reflected in the Work centre of the Service order.

i have found the way to do the work center change in update task method .
I did call the BAPI_ALM_ORDER_MAINTAIN but without using COMMIT since this function module is called in Update task method so whatever is the change being done by that BAPI will be reflected in the Service order once the Update task has been done for that service order.

IW41: automatic update of activity type when changing the work center?
Hello colleagues,
when doing a time confirmation with IW41, we have following problem:
In the PM order the operations are assigned to a neutral executing work center, as it not known which individual technician is completing the operation later on.
Now when the individual technician is entering the time confirmation with IW41, system is proposing the work center indicated in the operation from the PM order, then technician is overwriting the work center proposal with his own individual work center ID (and pressing Enter), but the activity type is not getting updated automatically. So the technician must jump to field "activity type" and choose the correct activity type.
Is there any solution (hopefully with user exits!) to have the field "activity type" automatically updated with the one indicated in the work center, which was entered manually?

yes, as usual all PM work centers have only 1 activity type assigned in the costing tab.
We also checked the settings of the activity type (KL03), but we just found one difference: the price indicator was set on 3 "Determined manually" - we've changed to 1 "Plan price, automatically based on activity" (..same setting as for the act. type of the work center with working update of act.type).
We tested already all possible constellations and scenarios, but we have not found any good reason for the behaviour.

Block production work center during maintenance order
Dear Experts,
iam trying to do the integration between PM and PP, I want to block the production work center from any production order when there is any maintenance order opened for a certain equipment which is inside this work center ,
till now i did the following:
1) the production work center is now inside the equipment location tab
2) when i open any maintenance order i put system condition as zero
now what i only achieved ,
- in transaction CM25 the capacity is black for the period of the maintenance order
BUT the work center is not blocked and any production order can be created without any error

Till time you have performed right things to integrate PP-PM & system is also responding according to setting.
Showing block capicity in CM25 against the Maintenance Order.
If you want to block production order as well, you need to do one more setting.
go to t- code OIOI, selection Production order types (those you want to block) & in capacity Availabilty choose Collect conversion as 3 : No creation if there is insufficiant caacity.
i hope this will definately solve your problem.

Urgent ! Help in linking Work center to goods movement
hello,
i need help in finding the work center for the goods movement in AUFM. The goods movement AUFM table shows all the goods movement entries but i want to tag it to the corresponding work center. i found out a way to tag it. by linking AFKO - RESB - AFVC - CHRD. But the problem is that if the material on the production order is the material that is finally produced, i cant find a work center for it. Because this material has no entry in the RESB table.
Any suggestion would be highly appreciated.

is there a way to have the VORNR field connected to the AUFM goods movement. this will solve the problem of linking the work center . So if someone knows how to link the AUFM entries with the respective VORNR activity ? Please give suggestions.

Goods issues are linked as you described because components consumed by a production order have reservations (RESB) and are assigned to an operation (AFVC). Goods receipts, on the other hand, do not have reservations and therefore don't have this link to the work center.
If you are using automatic goods receipt, then one of the operations in the production order will have a control key set up for automated goods receipt (PP03 is the standard, and it's usually the last operation). The business would likely see this work center as being logically tied to the goods receipt of the produced material.
