A Query for shortfall quantitiy of components in a Planned Order

Hello,
I'm trying to create a query to report committed quantity, required quantity and shortfall quantity of components for a planned order related to a WBS.
When I run MDVP for a specific planned order I see values in FLMNG field.
But when I check the reservation of that planned order in RESB table FLMNG table is empty while other fields for required quantity and committed quantity are filled.
So I ran ST05 for MDVP and figured out that system is using a table called RESVDB( I cannot remember the exact table name) but result the is same.
Does system fill the FLMNG field only in the structure of MDVP with substraction of committed and required quantities and never updates it in reservation tables? If it does update tables where can I find this field?
And also, to get the same result with MDVP, is using these fields in RESVDB the right way?
Thanks,
Arda

Hello Arda
The system design is explained on the following note:
423538 - MDVP: Missing part list in collective availability check
The following information is provided on this note:
For dependent requirements of a planned order, the system generally updates no
missing part indicators using the availability check in the corresponding
dependent requirements record of table RESB. SAP does not plan to implement
changes in the system design of the R/3 standard system that allow processing
the missing part indicator from the availability check.

  • How to change the components of the planned order? (FM or BAPI)

I need to change the storage(LGORT) in the components.
I found only MD_PLDORD_CHANGE_COMP_ITEMS, but could not get the correct result.
Has anyone used this FM to change the components of the planned order?
Can you please tell how to use it. Or advise an alternative solution.

    Hi Anton,
There's a BAPI to change planned orders - BAPI_PLANNEDORDER_CHANGE, but it allows to change only header data.
Therefore you'll have to go a bit longer, and use a couple of other BAPIs:
First read the order that you want to change - BAPI_PLANNEDORDER_GET_DETAIL
Second, create a new planned order with the changed data, based on the read planned order - BAPI_PLANNEDORDER_CREATE.
Third, delete the old planned order - BAPI_PLANNEDORDER_DELETE.

  • Settings for the relation of requirement type and planned order type

    Dear Gurus
Where we maintain the settings for the relation of requirement type and planned order type?Actually I have maintained strategy 60 for a particular material (planning material) so the requirement type is vsev and along with that the planned order type is coming is vp i.e non convertible planned order. That is ok the system is behaving right. But nowhere I can find the setting of vp with vsev how the system is picking vp?

    Hi!,
That is an inbuilt sytem setting and you can't change that.

  • BAPI to change components data of planned orders?

    Hi,
Currently we are using BDC to change components at planned orders.
Due to big data volume, we have performance issue now. Just checked
if there is any BAPI to replace BDC. But can't find proper one. Anyone has
any expeerience about changing components at planned order?
    Thanks.

  • Components vanish after planned order in is converted into production order

    Dear SAP gurus,
please advise how to sort out the problem.
After update of BOM component in R/3 (usually change of the scrap factor) we observe that the component disappears after planned order conversion to production order.
Please advice how to track where exactly this happens.
Unfortunatelly it does not happen for all orders, some of the orders lose the component, others do not.
I desperately need a way to track or debug the order during conversion and CIF-ing from APO to R/3.
As far as I know there is an user exit I could activate to force BOM explosion at conversion, but would be interested to find the reason.
Your help and advise will be highly appreciated.
    Thank you
    BR
    Ivan

    Hi Ivan,
In R/3 CFC2 give user name of on which the SNP planned orders are generated, RFC mode "Q", Logging "D" Debug "R".
Then generate the Planned orders and flow them to R/3.
Go to SMQ2 in R/3 and debug. But it will stop all the queues whichever generated on that user name.
If you want to Debug the Production order whch is flowing from R/3 to APO, then Maintain the same parameters in APo at /SAPAPO/C4.
I hope this will help you..

  • Query for finding out which components are in use

    Hi,

Key binding may vary as you switch between programs. I have some set to be "universal" but some applications manage to override those settings even though the key shortcuts in the application's menu show my programmed shortcuts.
In your case I'd try disabling applications you suspect may potentially be effecting problems and see if you can track down which are affecting your other applications.

  • Planned Order Components Table

I have a question. Is there a table that holds the components of a Planned Order?
When I see the technical data of a component field in MD13 it tells me they are in MDPM, but this is a structure, not a table.
that made me think that perhaps this is being fed directly from the BOM. But when I make a change to the BOM, the components in the planned order are not automatically updated.
So they must be stored somewhere. Anyone knows which table it is?
Otherwise, what FM can I use to fetch them?

    Fernando,
You can get the components list of a planned order in RESB table for field PLNUM = Planned order number and BDART = SB.

  • How to see planned orders for P3 mrp type products in APO?

    Dear experts,
I have materials with P3 MRP type (not planned in APO but in R/3 using MRP)
I have active integration models with P3 and X0 mrp type products for planned orders
however I can not see in APO product view the planned orders for P3 materials,
is this normal or should I see those planned orders in APO?
    Thanks for your answer,
    best regards
    Elynn

    Hi,
The following prerequisites must be met so that planned orders can be transferred from SAP R/3 to SAP APO
    and vice versa:
1.The material masters must be transferred to SAP APO.
    2. PPMs must exist for planning in SAP APO.
    3. The relevant integration models must be active.
    4. An active integration model for planned orders must exist in SAP R/3.
5.An active integration model must also exist for materials, so that the components of the planned order are transferred.
6.The relevant distribution definitions must be maintained in SAP APO, so that planning results can be
transferred from SAP APO to SAP R/3.

  • Can MRP only create planned orders for ROH, not for FERT?

    HI all,
Is there any way to only generate planned orders for raw materials after MRP, forbid creating planned orders for FERT?
We want create planned orders for FERTs manually.
    Thanks,
    Harvey

    Harvey,
Yes, that was also my understanding of your scenario. Did you try X0 for Fert?  Run MRP against the entire plant, and MRP will not create any new planned orders for the X0 parts.  It will explode the BOM and create dependent requirements in the components.  In addition, you can create FERT planned orders manually, or using an external planning system, and these manually created orders will also create dependent demand on your components.
If you are also using Sales orders to consume your PIR, you will also have to look at requirements determination for Sales orders.  This is configured based on MRP type.  If you change existing MRP types, you may have to add SD config so as to continue to pass requirements to MRP.  Your SD resource should be able to help you through this, or I can give you basic instructions if you decide that the PIR/demand/planned order/dependent requirements works to your satisfaction.

  • Material shortage for Planned Order (Discrete Job) in PWB

Client has planned orders on planner workbench (PWB) ready to release as Discrete Jobs but, because they have frequent revisions, they waits till all components (required to build job) are onhand before releasing from PWB.
They would like an easy way to either check or be notified when the last component required for job is received into inventory so they can release from PWB. They cannot use the standard "Discrete Job Shortage Report" as the job is not created yet. And they don't want to release from PWB till ALL material is onhand
Could we create a custom report perhaps (using same logic as "WIP Mass Load" to determine all component required versus onhand), but does anyone have a better solution how we can solve this?
    Regards,
    Hugh

    1) Why would you check for components of subassemblies? e.g. Say your BOM looks like this.
FG1 is made up of SA1 and SA2 and COMP1.
SA1 is made up of COMP2 and COMP3.
Say you are releasing planned order for FG1. As long as the planned order is pegged to onhand for SA1, SA2 and COMP1, you are good. Right?
    2) If you have to add custom logic, I would do it using a when-validate-record personalization on the PWB. The personalization will call a function that accepts order number ; does all pegging checks and returns true or false. If it returns false, then the personalization returns error and does not allow release of the planned order. The function will have to be an interative program that traverses the pegging loop to ensure that all lowest level demands are pegged to onhand.
    Hope this helps

  • MRP setting for Purchase (Planned Order ) Requirement date

    Dear Sir,
During the MRP run , we desire that the genertaed Planned Orders for the Purchase related items , should have requirement date as either the current date or the current date plus procurement lead time defined in the Material Master against the item .
To achive the abobe requirement , we request you to pl guide us as what setting / parameters are required to be set in the MRP setup .  Or if there is some other alternate approach , pl suggest the same .
    With Thanks and Rgds
    Sonia Agarwal

    Dear
Generally , during MRP run , system will genarted Planned order for Purcahsed item if it is opening period .
The opening period for the planned order represents the number of workdays that are subtracted from the order start date in order to determine the order opening date. This period serves as a time float, which is available for the MRP controller when converting a planned order into a purchase requisition.
You define the opening period for the planned order in Customizing for MRP in the IMG activity Define floats (scheduling margin key) and assign it to the material in the Scheduling margin key field (MRP 2 view) in the material master
Now if you want to have Planned order for purchased item with requirement date as current date , then maintain Demand date like Sales Order requirement date as curent date in VA01 or PIR date as current date.
Where as MRP will consider the Planned Order based on planned opening date , lead time , GR processing time from MRP2 view .So for current date requirement , u should keep Lead time and GR processing time as 0.

  • Changing MRP controller for planned order

    Hello experts,
Is there any way the planner could change the MRP controller of a planned order within MD12 ? We are using ver 4.7 and this field is not enabled. Currently the planners are creating prod orders much in advance and are looking to move to a process where they firm planned order. We are using project stock planning structure so more that one planner may create orders for the same material. So when one planner review the material planning for one project he would firm the planned order and assign it to him for leater conversion.
Note: I the config I didn't saw any field selection control for planned orders.
Thank you in advance for sharing your wisdom.

    Francois,
Very interesting question. However I never had to change those fields in either planned or prodcution orders.
Both orders master data fileds are disabled.
However since your are working with project orders ( or netwrok orders ) system would be giving you specific planner order hard tied to the project order ( similar to Made to order scenario).
Planner could use MD51 ( project planning ) & MD4C ( option for Netwrok or WBS element ) for monitoring progress of his /her order.
This way planners do not have to go by MRP controller data.
Hope this provides some new thoughts.
    Thanks,

  • Planned order link for Strategy group 40

    Dear All,
We are creating sales order for a material which is having strategy group 40. Requirement Type KSV is determined in the sales order. Let us assume that we don't have stock for this material. After MRP run, planned order has been created for sales order qty. Now I want to get planned order number for sales order at table level or any using any FM to use Z report. I can check the planned order number in MD4C by giving sales order number in the input screen but I want to know where and how to get the link for Z report. Please any one help me out on this.
