Adobe Premire Elements 7.0 Error

I haven't had many problems with Adobe Premire Elements 7.0, but now, after three days of work on a project that has actually turned out really well, it has turned against me. I can't export the video as a video file. I click File>Export>Movie and have enough memory for it. When I click save, it starts to export. It goes well for a while, saying it will only take ten minuites or so.But then it starts to slow down, and eventually reads that it will take an hour. >.<" So I wait patiently until eventually an error pops up after my hoes get higher when it starts to load faster. The error always pops up around when it's 10% complete. It says, "Error. Unknown error occured when compiling the video" or something. Ever since I got it, using the 'Share' tab has only resulted in the closing of the program, so I can't try that.Please help! I'm running it on a Windows XP.

Tell us all about your I/O sub-system, especially your hard drive (HDD) setup. Do list the free defragmented space on each HDD.
This sounds like a disk space problem. Trust me, you need far, far more free, defragmented HDD space, that it would seem to be required.

!) You might be lucky to get the serial number from the machine in which it is still installed. This is done by downloading and installing the software called Belarc Advisor. It is a free tool downloadable from this link:

2) OK if you say so. Perhaps the price of it was built into the PC price. Some companies did load Adobe software but I haven't been so lucky so far.
3) Did you try going to:

Click on the above link or paste it in Windows Explorer/File Manager to launch the PSE editor.

Adobe Premire Elements 3.0 Problem

I've just finished a project on Adobe Premire Elements 3.0. Then I had to shut down my computer. Before I did I saved my project several (5) times. But when I started my computer and went to open the file Premire opened but in the display window in the middle of the screen it only showed gray. The media wouldn't play. When I tried to do almost anything the program would lock up and crash. I worked hard on this and would hate to have to do it over again, thanks.

A couple of observations:
1.) the CTI is on a short Clip, that also does not have a thumbnail in the Project Panel. Tough to read the Clip name ("Urban City Credits?"), but it appears to be just a grey screen in the thumbnail too. Can you change your Timeline Video Track View (#3 below), and also move the CTI to one of the Video Clips, like one of the Jeff Allen Clips, and do another screen-cap?
2.) the thumbnails for your other Clips look good in the Project Panel
3.) your Timeline Video Track View appears to be set to not show the thumbnails/frames. What happens when you toggle to Show First Frame, Show First & Last Frame, and Show All Frames?
4.) your Assets are MP4, which can cause problems. What is the source of these files?
5.) if you add a Title from the PE Title Templates, do these display correctly?

I cannot reinstall Adobe photoshop Elements 6 (CD) in my system OS Windows 7. The setup displays the following message;

Which reports an error in a Windows environment ? and advices we ignore this error. However the installation does not go any further.. it quits and does not ask for the other disks to be installed.

Adobe Premire Elements 10 corrupted - HELP!!

When attempting to start my Adobe Premiere Elements 10, I get the following error: “C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Elements 10.lnk is not a valid Win32 application”. I found the premiere elements folder in my Program Files and it shows 0 bytes, but has what seems to be all the folders, extensions, applications, etc but they all have 0 bytes. The Premiere Elements 10 application and Photoshop Elements 10 (it works fine) were on my computer when delivered from HP and I did not get a backup nor a serial number. Can this be corrected without having to perform a system restore?

Then time for a complete uninstall/ccleaner run through/reinstall. But, what is the history on all this...have you been using the program successfully until this time and suddenly this major issue? When did you get the HP computer with pre-installed programs? Can you associate any catastrophic computer happening with this present situation?
If you do not have a backup nor serial number, System Restore sounds like something to try. Whether it will work is another story.
Did you register your Premiere Elements 10 with Adobe? If so, go to the Adobe web site http://www.adobe.com, sign in with your Adobe ID and password, and look to the top right of the home page to where it says My Adobe. Click on that and go to My Products and see if you can find your Premiere Elements 10 there with a serial number.
If you can produce a purchased serial number for your Premiere Elements 10, free tryout Premiere Elements 10 installation files can be obtained and your purchased serial number inserted in that tryout.

But the plan hinges on you having purchased serial number.

Help uninstalling Adobe Premiere Elements 1.0 Error 1402.???

have my movie done ready to burn dvd
have had premiere elements 1.0 for 4 years
on my dell E1705 windows xp media edition 2005
computer has recently had some problem... freezes up
that was triggered in the DVD burning process
so i uninstalled and then reinstalled premiere 1.0 from the original discs
and when i went to open the program would get
a message that the registration is invalid and to uninstall the program
so when i went to uninstall the program it runs through the process
and when it gets to the part where it starts to remove registry values
i get a message window pop up that says:
Error 1402. Could not open key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\...\DefaultPreset.
Verify you have sufficient access to that key or contact your support personnel...
Adobe doesnt support this software anymore
as i was told by their tech people
so i downloaded a free trial version of adobe premiere elements 8.0
and it crashes when i try to open it
ive been told by adobe tech that this is because
i need to uninstall APE 1.0
duh!!!

One thing that can be done to clean Registry values is to run a Registry cleaner, like CCleaner. I would strongly suggest that you first manually create a System Restore Point, and then take advantage of CCleaner's offer to create a Registry backup, just in case. Run it several times to clean out all vestiges of PrE 1.0.
Also, getting back to the problems with PrE 1.0 and burning, please list the full specs. on your system. It is likely that what caused the burns to fail in the earlier version will still be there, and cause problems with PrE 8 too. Pay special attention to your I/O sub-system, i.e. your HDD's, their size, speed, amount of defragmented free space, controller type and how they are allocated.

PS - are you running as Administrator? You should be.
Also, when you go to install, make sure that all AV, pop-up blocking and spysweeping software is turned OFF, along with all Windows firewalls, etc.

Adobe Premier Elements 12 , Unknown errors when rendering or saving or making DVD's

We purchased this software in January and have had little success it getting it to work as the errors which appear have no details to work on. the most popular error is unknown error , error converting, error rendering project. But this does not tell us what to do to fix the problem, and the staff are losing confidence in the software.
We have made sure that the users have local Full admin rights to the PC's the software is on.
Also we have second drives installed so they can put all the photos and videos and music locally ready to make the film,
We have made sure that the program also caches locally so there's no network traffic issues.
We have tried using the project archive before and also changing footage speeds as some images are from Ipads, some from cameras etc which have different rates
Some films have been fixed by removing the transitions which the programs supplies for use but have caused it to crash, but also the title pages have caused problems.
When we make the projects we also tell everyone to check that the render line is green and check for gaps etc,
We need the software to be more user friendly as it does not explain what to do when these errors occur so we try everything we have in the past but this is crazy as its very time consuming and defeats the object of buying special software to make the job easier as they were using movie maker before . Please can you help as we are losing total confidence with the product.

Great link. One of the terrific things about Adobe software is how many independent and Adobe sources of information exist. Your link is like a reference library.
My point in writing about Steve's work with Linda.com is that it is a "course". It has an organized beginning and end. It has a consistent teacher throughout that is following a "lesson plan". It has a beginning that lays a foundation and continues to stack learning blocks on that foundation. It has an end where the student has achieved a level of competence. It is not random links to topics.
I've toured the internet and found specific video answers for various editing challanges. But so far, I've not found any other organized courses that come close to the Lynda.com standard of teaching.

I read somewhere that I could make a DVD menu, in Adobe Elements for Adobe Premire Elements 10, but I am having troubling figuring out how to do so. Dose anyone know if there is a written or video tutorial for making a dvd template in Adobe Photoshop Elements 10? As that would really help me out, and I'd really appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

The Menu Sets in PrE are very involved, as PrE does a lot of semi-automatic authoring, so things have to be done a very specific way. This ARTICLE links to a thread in the Photoshop Forum, where I discuss the naming conventions, etc..
When on is working with PrE Menu Sets, I have several recommendations:
Only start with, and Save Copies of the Menu Sets.
Keep one of the Menu Set Templates handy, as a reference.
Remember that Photoshop can both create and edit Layer Sets (the structure of Buttons), while PSElements can only edit them, and not create them, unless something was changed with PSE 10.
Sub-picture Highlights (the Button "activation" part), can only be 2-bit, and cannot have any FX.
The Layer, and the PSD naming conventions are extremely important. Those special characters are what make the Menu Set work.
When done, Save into a new folder, withing the DVD Template folder hierarchy, and also do the PNG files, just like the DVD Templates have, so you can see them in PrE.
