Always accept certificate [solved] (sort of)

Hello everyone,
I'm trying to mount a webdav folder to /mnt/dav but it always asks me to accept the certificate. Is there any way to always accept the certificate (without asking me)?
[jules@Inspiron mnt]$ mount /mnt/dav
The server certificate is not trusted.
  Server identity: *.xs4all.nl
  Issuer:  Equifax Secure Inc., US
  Subject: Domain Control Validated - RapidSSL(TM), See www.rapidssl.com/cps (c)05, https://services.choicepoint.net/get.jsp?GT59386789, *.xs4all.nl, NL
  Fingerprint: b9:1a:64:f8:d8:9d:d4:ae:9a:4a:8c:60:47:59:b1:f0:79:7a:b6:47
You only should accept this certificate, if you can
verify the fingerprint! The server might be faked
or there might be a man-in-the-middle-attack.
Accept certificate for this session? [y,N] y
/sbin/mount.davfs: No free coda device to mount.
/sbin/mount.davfs: Trying fuse kernel file system.
[jules@Inspiron mnt]$

RTFM
At the moment it is not possible to store these certificates permanently, but
you will be prompted every time you connect. This feature is intended for one
of the next releases.....

  • Ncurses won't show any output nor accept input (SOLVED .sort of)

    Hi
I have an elderly application (PB/PG for Linux) that builds and runs fine on other distros than ArchLinux (AL). When I build it on AL it builds fine, meaning that the include files and the library are found. When I run the program it does not show any output on the screen and it will not accept keyboard input.
I must admit that I am somewhat at a loss as to what could be wrong, so any help will be much appreciated.
Have any of you experienced this (or a similar) problem? And how did you solve it?
    Regards,
    Bent
EDIT 2007-12-04: The root cause of this problem had nothing to do with Ncurses whatsoever. I have found another tree to bark up. Sorry for the inconvenience.

    So rather quick addition.
I just played with the AccelMethod option in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-intel.conf and found that this only occurs when it is set to "uxe" or "glamor" changing the setting to "sna" does not result in this problem.
I had originally changed this setting from sna due to font rendering issues. I'll leave it as sna for now and see if those same issues still exist.
Marked solved, but may not a good solution if font issues with sna are still present.

  • Cannot always allow certificate Mail for Exchange

    Goodmorning,
Ive been stuggling with some Nokia models in our company that ask to accept certificate. But the only option i currently get is that i can only accept it for this moment and not always. Ive tried different instructions made up by users on this forum but they do not work for me.
    The models
    C5-03
    E71
Also the certificate does not appear in the trusted website part on the phone when i accepted it.
    Kind regards,

The question? If you tried everything from the board, you are done with the board, aren’t you? You could have appended your question to one of those threads and then everyone finding that thread, would have benefit from the new answer. Without any error message, we do not even know which stage of the problem you face.
    The general solution is:
You take your certificate authority (CA), not its private key but its public certificate, convert that not to base-64 (PEM) but to binary format (DER), and then you beam it over to your Nokia. The easiest way to do that beaming, place it on one of your web-servers (HTTP), change the file extension to .cer (to get Windows Phone compatibility) and make sure the MIME media type of .cer is application/x-x509-ca-cert (to get Nokia Series 40 compatibility).
However, the much easier solution would be to go out and buy a certificate for example from RapidSSL. RapidSSL is linked to GeoTrust which is linked to Equifax (Symantec), available on every Nokia since the year 2007. RapidSSL costs less than US$10 per year. You can buy one for the next four years. At the end of the ordering process, you are send one intermediate certificate. Do not go for that but for the primary and secondary intermediates from their webpage. Then, all your devices work withouth installing any certificate with your end-users at all, for four years. More details and help on debugging, there …

  • Why doesn't "Always accept Cookies" actually always accept cookies?

I have my security setting set to "Always" accept cookies but cookies are not being accepted for iframes and ajax connections.  Shouldn't a setting actually do what it says it does?  I also find it odd that I had cleared my cookies and 20 minutes later I had a bunch of cookies from sites I've never gone to but can't get safari to accept the cookies for the site I'm building.

    smoerrebroed582 wrote:
    Mac OS X 10.7.1, Safari 5.1 (German)
It should work like this (I have to translate it into English and hope it looks similar in the English version):
    - Always block:
Cookies are stored but are not able to send any information to the website.
I just tested that theory (with 5.0.5) by going to a cookie test site with Security Preferences set to "never," and Safari did not prevent information from being sent.
Incidentally, before I downgraded to 5.0.5, I tested 5.1 (with privacy set to "always block") and 5.1 doesn't block cookies, either.
My solution: Use "block cookies from third parties...", use "resetting Safari" every time you login into Google, Facebook etc. and make sure to check the box "delete all website-data" in the window which appears.
Before cookie-gate, whenever I closed Safari, I manually reset it.   But unfortunately, since cookie-gate, Safari doesn't just ignore cookie settings for me.  It also appears to ignore RSS feed settings and database preferences---and on top of all that, Google Safe Browsing Service stopped working 62 days ago.
That makes me worry what kind of information flashplayer might be gathering.  And who knows what autofill might be giving out?

  • Once cancelled, Accept Certificate window never appears again! (HELP!)

Ok, I am developing a self-signed applet for me and a few friends to play a webgame.
They can still play. In fact, they're having a grand ole' time. but ME, the DEVELOPER is locked out.
WHY? because I hit "cancel" on the "accept certificate" one time.
It's been 3 days now, and I'm at my wits end trying to figure out how to flush my accepted / rejected certificates!
It's not in the java > security > control panel thing, because I hvae played around with every option there, and still in both my browsers (even after reinstalling firefox) I get just a plain white-screen whit no popup window when I visit the html.
Simply stated: How do I force the "Accept Certificate" dialogue to pop up again? I'm sure anyone who's made a signed applet experiences this worry!!!

    Hi,
The original posters have probably worked this out already ;)
On Windows you can control certificates by going to Control Panel->Java Control Panel->Security and click "Certificates"

  • [SOLVED, sort of] After nvidia upgrade, computer crashes at logout

My video card is Nvidia GEForce 6150 LE, rev 2.  After I upgraded nvidia  on 10/10/08, my computer crashes whenever I log out, and I have to shut down the power and reboot.  This happens on kde and gnome, and also when I press Control-Alt-Backspace.  I tried the new nvidia-173xx drivers, but they didn't work at all.  Finally I went back to vesa, and that works.

Problem solved, sort of.  I noticed that the Flint, Michigan mirror was 15 days out of sync, and I downloaded the old nvidia driver from there.  Now everything works fine, as before.  Here's the page that tells the status of mirrors:
    http://users.archlinux.de/~gerbra/mirrorcheck.html
Still, it would be nice to use the new driver.   If anyone else has this problem and has missed out on the out-of-sync mirrors, send me an email and I can give you the package.

  • E72 - Email - Accept Certificate Permanently?

Just setting up my new E72, but there's no option to accept a certificate permanently like there was on the E71 and other phones...
Has anyone discovered how to do this yet?
    Nokia History: 3110, 5110, 7110, 7110, 3510i, 6210, 6310i, 5210, 6100, 6610, 7250, 7250i, 6650, 6230, 6230i, 6260, N70, N70, 5300, N95, N95, E71, E72
Android History: HTC Desire, SE Xperia Arc, HTC Sensation, Sensation XE, One X+, Google Nexus 5

Certificates on Nokia E-Series work, but it can be a pain to install them properly. It is a basic system function so it should be the same with MfE, Nokia Mail or third party mail clients.
The problem is that certificates only work permanently when there is one certificate per host and the names are matching (more or less exactly).
If you permanently accept a certificate it does not mean the connection you just made is "learned" and you will not be bothered again. It just means the connection is accepted for now and the certificate is installed to the phone.
But if there is any host name / certificate name mismatch you will be asked again on next connect.
    Example1:
Your mail server has the address mail.company.com. The server resolves also to serverxyz.headquarters.com and the certificate is for the latter.
    Example2:
Your mail server has the address mail.company.com. The certificate is for *.company.com (wildcard certificate).
    Solution:
    1) In your mail client, always set the host name which matches the name in the certificate. (in Example 1 this means you have to enter "serverxyz.headquarters.com" in your mail client instead of mail.company.com).
    2) Download the certificate as a file and convert it to CER (x509 binary).
    3) If you have a wildcard certificate, rename the file to match the exact host name (in example 2 this would be "mail.company.com.cer") If you want to access several hosts with the same wildcard certificate you have to produce a file for every host (same file named "mail1.company.com.cer" and "mail2.company.com.cer "
    4) Copy the file(s) to your phone and run them from the file browser to install them.

  • Anyconnect VPN not prompting to accept Certificate (Windows 7)

    Hello,
I have an issue with windows 7 and anyconnect.  When trying to connect to the VPN server the anyconnect client pops up a window saying that the server certificate cannot be verified.
Doing the same in a windows XP machine just pops a window and prompts me to accept or refuse the certificate, which at least works.
    Any hints on this?
    Regards,
    Alex

I believe that Chandru's concern is in his statement that his DSL modem is controlled by the RAS service.
I agree with Andrew that Chandru probably does not need the RAS enabled. I have used several Dell laptop running XP and connected to DSL just fine without needing RAS. If there is some aspect of how the laptop is configured that results in needing RAS for the modem then perhaps Chandru can clarify this for us.

  • Go Daddy Certificate on ISE Repeat accept certificate on Windows 7/8/8.1

We have moved from a self signed certificate to a Go Daddy certificate to avoid trust issues around self signed certificates.  IOS devices continue to work fine, but Windows devices have to accept the certificate trust many times.  Sometimes it takes 4-6 times clicking connect while on some machines it takes 10-14 times of clicking connect when it prompts you to verify the certificate.  Sometimes it will never connect and you have click terminate once and then click connect a few times.  What is the deal?  This happens equally on Windows 7, 8, and 8.1 machines when connecting to the ISE SSID the first time.  This also only happens when using the Microsoft PEAP.  On my machine, I have an Intel WIFI card so I have the option of using Intel control and Intel PEAP instead of Microsoft.  This works fine.  Something to do with the Microsoft supplicant and ISE on this trust?  Anyone else have this issue or know how to fix it?  The system does work.  It is just annoying for low end users who don't understand to just keep clicking connect...windows will believe you eventually.
More information: I have also installed the provided Go Daddy intermediate cert in Intermediate Certification Authorities and in Trusted Root Certification Authorities.  Neither help the process.

#8 The Start Menu and User Interface
    1. The Start Menu
Allow Drag and Drop from the left list to the right pinned icons. Update build 10041, Microsoft have done this.
The Start menu is bloated with Metro Apps, making it more cumbersome to find useful installed programs. Example of Start Menu to the left bloated with Metro Apps.
These should all be in a Windows Apps folder similar to all the (more useful) items in the Windows Accessories folder.
    2. Windows and X Menu (Right Click Start)
Please add your votes to my Windows UserVoice suggestion here.
Add the following to the “Windows and X” menu:
    Windows Defender
    Windows Defender Offline
    Devices and Printers
    .iso to Bootable USB Utility
"Settings" → This definitely has to be here
Make the Windows and X Menu look like part of Windows 10.
    3. Windows Defender
Add it to the Windows and X Menu as described above and also add right click context menus like Microsoft Security Essentials had:
    4. Minor Feedback
I'm not a great fan of the new icons, the folders are too bright and it looks like they have been drawn in Microsoft paint. The Recycle bin particularly looks terrible.

  • Business Service sign a message with always same certificate

    Hello,
We  need to call an external web service that require the request be signed by a certificate.
Our organization has an Oracle Service Bus and our intention is use the bus to facilitate our clients the calls.
    I did the next steps:
1.- I Have configured the keystore of OSB with the certificated.
2.- I have made the business service, with the end-point the external ws.
3.- I Have configured the sign-body ws-policy in business service.
4.- When i prove it with debug console of OSB, i select the keystore provider and it works.
    The problem is:
When I make the Proxy Service seems that the Business Service give the requirement to the Proxy for sign the message,  and what I want is publish the Proxy Service without this requirement and sign the message with always the same certificate.
I would like the message was signed by Proxy Service or Business Service, and not by clients who call the OSB.
I don't know how configure it on OSB.
It is possible to configure OSB in that way?
    Thanks
    Miguel

    Hello,
Can you please confirm the following
    1. You are setting up an expired certificate as the host certificate for your host (or) are you trying to sign an ASPX file with an expired certificate?
    2. The webserver where you are hosting this ASPX (IIS I presume), has only certificate based authentication enabled - is that right?
    3. You are seeing that when the user opens the website they are prompted that the certificate has expired, and even if they chose to move forward, they are not able to - is that the issue?
    4. If (3) is not the issue and you want to be able to get access to the certificate-expiration error as part of the ASPX code, then that wouldn't be possible because the certificate validation would happen as part of the TLS connection negotiation
If you can please provide some more details, it will help.
    Thank you

  • Accept Certificate Fingerprints for all remote controlled WS

Frustrating thing is that one has to accept the certificate for each and every remote controlled PC.
One of our hotline guys got a new Harddisk (no roaming Profile) and all started from beginning. So I found a solution: I exported the registry from HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Novell\ZCM\Remote Management\Viewer\Settings\DeviceFingerprints from another PC and imported it for the user on the new PC. OK everything working again without any question "Accept this certificate ...".
So I created a bundle with the following Launch Script Action and assigned it to all of my helpdesk users:
    reg export "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Novell\ZCM\Remote Management\Viewer\Settings\DeviceFingerprints" \\Srv1\Vol1\Dir1\DevFngrPrnt%COMPUTERNAME%.reg
    copy /y \\Srv1\Vol1\Dir1\DevFngrPrnt*.reg \\Srv1\Vol1\Dir1\AllDevFngrPrnt.reg
    reg import \\Srv1\Vol1\Dir1\AllDevFngrPrnt.reg
So with every launch all Fingerprints get exported and all the other users will import all of them. But still at least one Admin need to permanently accept the certificate.
Of course there are a lot of duplicates since each user exports the same Fingerprints. But the import takes care of it and just leaves one fingerprint for each device.
My QUESTION now: Where can I extract that Fingerprint directly from all the remote machines distribute it to all Hotline users? I did not find the source of it.
    Thanks Klaus

    Hi
with the config i have i seem to be able to login using either tkip or aes, but i don't think i have got mixed mode configured on the AP so it should only accept WPA2-AES encryption but it also accepts TKIP making me believe something is configured incorrectly.
should i change anything in the config on the AP to only allow WPA2-AES encryption?
