Appraisal - Nine Box Grid - Talent Management

Hello Experts,
I want to configure system in such a way, which will give me a Nine Box Grid output from the appraisal system. I want to configure following scenarios in the system.
X Axis: Performance Trend
Y Axis: Leadership Potential
ON THE TOP ROW:
High Potential and Below Performance Expectations: New Hires
High Potential and Meets Performance Expectations: Emerging Potential
HIgh Potential and Exceeds Performance Expectations: High Potential
ON THE MIDDLE ROW
Moderate Potential and Below Performance Expectations: Mismatches
Moderate Potential and Meets Performance Expectations: Solid Performers
Moderate Potential and Exceeds Performance Expectations: Growing Performers
ON THE THIRD i.e. LAST ROW
Low Potential and Below Performance Expectations: Under Performers
Low Potential and Meets Performance Expectations: Currently Rightly Placed
Low Potential and Exceeds Performance Expectations: Seasoned Professionals

Devendra,
You can configure the calibration grid exactly as you described with the labels that you mentioned in the view:
sm30: HRTMC_VC_GRID
you just need to make sure that your performance mgmt and potential assessment processes use a 3 pt value scale and that those values get transferred to HRP7409 / HRP7408, respectively.

  • Talent Management Grid

    Hello Experts,
We are currently implementing Talent Managment Ehp6 and Nakisa 4.0.  I have a couple of questions
    1) I've researched several SCN posts and blogs about how the Performance/Potential grid has to be a 5,6,9 or 15 box grid and that the values (scales) used in performance must also be used in the talent mgmt grid. When we implemented Performance Management (Ehp4) we used a 20 value scale (1-5 with .25 gradients in between). I would just like to clarify that with everything I have read the Grid in Talent Mgmt and Nakisa will not support this large of a scale. That there isn't any BADI or Enhancement that we can use? It seems like we will have to reduce our scale in Performance to be able to use it in Talent Management/Nakisa. Is that correct?
    2) I'm a bit confused about the Writeback functionality with Talent Management and Nakisa. I understand that the Talent Mgmt has their own infotypes (i.e. Potential and Performance) and a Manager or TMS can change the potential/performance in the grid during a Talent Meeting. I'm trying to understand how Talent Mgmt updates Nakisa when these ratings get changed? Or does the TMS and Manager have to change the ratings in both places since Nakisa also uses a grid? Also what happens when you move from a performance template in one year to a performance tempalte in the next year? Does the data save or does it get replaced?
Any assistance or clarification would be much appreciated
    Sarah

    Luke,
Thank you for taking the time to reply to my questions, I appreciate it.
In regards to the peformance scale we didn't go the PMP route, we went with the Flexible.  When I go to the template in the appraisal catalog and try to add the Follow-up BAdI under the enhancement tab it gives me the information below :
    "Note
Do not use the BAdI implementation for appraisal templates that you created using the transaction Appraisal Template Catalog (PHAP_CATALOG).
After you have completed an appraisal, the system copies the potential value and performance value to the Potential (7408) and Performance (7409) infotypes that are relevant for the talent review meeting.
The BAdI implementation can only be implemented with an appraisal template of type Performance Management that was created in the Customizing activity Configure Form for Performance Management Process since the appraisal values of the potential assessment and performance assessment are expected to be in certain places in the appraisal template or appraisal document."
Reading this I took this note to mean that if we created a Flexible Appraisal Template that I create via PHAP_CATALOG_PA that I could not use these follow-up BAdIs.  That you can only use this follow-up BAdI if you created a form/template using the PMP process.
Am I understanding this correctly? Can you not use the Calibration Grid if you created a template in the catalog using the Flexible templates? In our performance appraisal we don't use the "Final Appraisal" column for our final performance rating. We created a custom column that stores the final rating.
    Thanks again

  • Talent Management- Calibration grid error in Talent Review Meeting

    Hi all,
I'm getting errors when running the calibration grid in Talent Review Meeting:
No entry for BAdI field RISK in table T77TMCAESFIELD
No entry for BAdI field CHANGE_NEED in table  T77TMCAESFIELD
No entry for BAdI field RISK in table T77TMCAESFIELD
No entry for BAdI field IMPACT_LOSS in table T77TMCAESFIELD
Please guide me on what to do to resolve this.
    Thanks.

    Hi Eric,
In order to fix a bug with the Calibration Grid, the following values need to be entered into table T77TMCAESFIELD. This can be done via IMG > Talent Management and Talent Development > Basic Settings > Adjusting the User Interfaces > Configurations for Data Retrieval > Extend Fields Selection > Adjust Data Retrieval for Appraisals, Evaluations, and Surveys
    RISK
    IMPACT_LOSS
    CHANGE_NEED
The values can be dummy values (i.e. just the name and the validity dates) or, if using Risk, it can be a VB object from the appropriate Talent Assessment form(s).

  • Talent Management - Appraisal

    Hi,
I have created a plan with the following tasks:
    Objective Setting : 01/01/2008 30/06/2008
    Mid Year Appraisal : 01/07/2008 15/07/2008
    Mid Year Objective Reviewal : 01/12/2008 20/12/2008
    Final Year Appraisal : 25/12/2008 31/12/2008
Assume that, I completed the Objective setting and Mid year appraisal. But during objective reviewing (employee updating existing objectives and adding some objectives), whether the employee can see all the objectives which were appraised during Mid Year Appraisal or not?. (The reviewed objectives will be used in Final Year Appraisal.)
    Thanks in advance.

    TimW wrote:
Objective setting and appraisals cannot be open at the same time. So, if you want to continue updating objectives you have to reset the objective setting period after the mid-year appraisal. However, as long as the mid-year and end-year appraisals are part of the same plan, you can continue to see the objectives from the first part of the year.
If objectives are not completed in the first year, they can be carried forward to the next year if you define the 2nd years plan as being linked to the first year.
Be careful, because there have been many reports of problems in this area!  Lots of patches have had to be applied around this functionality.  I would advise making sure that you have all the Talent Management rollup patches.
    Regards
    TimHi Tim,
We are implementing a scenario almost exactly like the thread describes and we are already having issues. Please can you point to us where to download all the Talent Management Rollup patches so that we can have a stable system. Thank.

  • SAP TALENT MANAGEMENT V/S NAKIS

I am trying to prepare a document on SAP TLT MGT v/s Nakisa...

can anybody help with suitable links or docs available with you.

    Hi Mohammad,
I moved your thread to the correct forum. I am assuming that you are referring to STVN SuccessionPlanning.
Basically, Nakisa is not versus SAP Talent Management but is part of SAP Talent Management. STVN SuccessionPlanning is SAP's solution for succession planning and is part of their portal-based application strategy. Without this you will have to do succession planning activities in the backend and will also not have functionalities such as 9-box grid and profile match.

  • Add custom embedded region or link in talent management

We are doing a proof of concept implementation of Oracle Talent
Management. As part of this implementation we have been requested to
add Salary change functionality to the employee performance appraisal
process. Usually this process is only used to evaluate
competencies, objectives and overall performance and does not include
    salary information.
    Our Thoughts:
Oracle provides out of the box the Salary change process on its own.
There is an entry page for the values, PRatePG, and then a review
page, ReviewPG. We would like to take the majority of the
functionality on those 2 pages and add that functionality to the 2
similar pages used for performance review. On the performance review
side the equivalent pages are the entry page MAFinalRatingsPG and the
    review page,MAFinalRatingsRevPG.
We are looking for the best way to move forward regardless to
incorporate the functionality of entering and reviewing the salary
into the performance appraisal set of pages which don't currently
contain the data or functionality at all for salary.
We have considered also going a complete custom route, however the
functionality on the Salary screens are intricate and have several
PPR elements. Additionally, there was the thought to somehow add the
Salary page functionality as an additional page on the page flow as a
customization. This might still be an option as well. We are open
    to any ideas.
Please let us know if any of you have done anything similar and would
    like to share with us.
We would like to know what is the best option to meet the requirement
1)Create a link to seeded salary page
2)Embed the seeded salary region in Appraisal form
3)Create custom salary region and embed that into Appraisal form

  • 9 Box Grid Settings are not availaible through admin console

    Hi ALL,
We are implementing Nakisa 3.0 SP1 here. While configuring Succession Planning, for Employees, 'Grid' option is not availaible through Administration Console. However the same is availaible for End USer under Employee>>Grid.
If I understand it correctly, this 'Grid' talks about Talent Management 9 Box Grid i.e. why 'Performance' & 'Potential' are given as X & Y axis.
Is this done for a purpose? If this is the case, how to configure settings for Grid?
    Thanks,
    Prashant

    Hi Prashant,
Grid settings can only be made in the XML files. You can make several changes in the XML file to affect various grid settings, which I have done at a few clients. You need to look for the listing configuration called DirectoryListing1_With_NineBox.xml.

    Hi Friends,

Please  set the parameter PROCESS "PMP" in the iview configuration.
    ie
    ROLE_ID=PA&PROCESS=PMP in application parameters
    content provided by SAP ->
    specialist ->
    Talent management Specialist ->
    iViews ->
    COmpany goals etc
and you can confirm using this
    CL_HAP_CASCADE_GOALS > meth0d GET_VALID_APPRAISAL_TEMPLATES
The parameter mentioned in the note 1457057, the one that you enter in
transaction SE80 is the default value. However, if you call application
with parameter PROCESS=PMP then the PMP process for cascading goals will
    be used.

  • Is TREX mandatory for Talent Management?

    Dear Experts,
Is TREX a mandatory component for Talent Management? It's because I am having issue when I click "Search" in Talent Management Specialist Launchpad, telling me "Error occurred during the search; contact your system administrator".
And it seems to me that TREX supports only LINUX and MaxDB, which is totally out of our company's landscape.
    Thanks,
    Steven

    Hi Steven,
TREX is the search engine itself. That means Talent management is using enterprise search and enterprise search uses TREX to perform searches and store data.
Enterprise Search is part of SAP Netweaver ABAP ( also called embedded search ). Enterprise search is responsible to index data from HR to TREX and is responsible to redirect search requests from Talent management to TREX and put back the results back to the UI. It also provides tools to maintain and administer the data models.
So Enterprise Search is available on your Netweaver ABAP system. But ES uses TREX. That means if you want to get ES up and running you need TREX. (normaly installed on a different box and connexted by RFC to the Netweaver System)
    hope that helps.

  • Talent Management Reports

We are implementing SSHR Talent Management for our client. Client using Global HRMS.
I have read the doc of Talent management and found some workbook reports such as Appraisal Detail Workbook and Competence Updates after Appraisal Workbook. I think we can use these reports by using HRMS Intelligence. Is it correct? We didn't setup HRMSi yet.
Also the client needs the following reports related to this module. Since I don't know the columns of the above workbooks, I am unable to decide whether the following reports are come under standard one or need customization.
    So please advice.
    Appraisal Status by Employee-wise
    Appraisal Competencies & Development Plan
    Appraisal Competencies Count by Grade
    Appraisal Report by Competencies
    Appraisal Overall Ratings
    Appraisal Rating by Employee-wise
    Appraisal Status – Total Counts
    Probation Appraisal Report
    Disagreed Appraisal Report
    Performance Planning Status Report
    Planning Status by Department-wise
    Planning Status - Detailed
    Thanks in advance.

" have read the doc of Talent management and found some workbook reports such as Appraisal Detail Workbook and Competence Updates after Appraisal Workbook. I think we can use these reports by using HRMS Intelligence. Is it correct? We didn't setup HRMSi yet."
Yes you need seperate license to run the HR intelligence reportsI would say run the workbook reports in a development instance or in your vision instance and do the gap analysis.

  • Talent Management TREX and Enterprise Search

    Hi All,
in the area of talent management I try to use the TREX search functionality. I have two problems:
    1) For Connector HRTMC_AES_DOCUMETS no indexes are available although I started indexing many times. Other Connectors have active indexes. Appraisal documents exist in the system. The indexing and search for hrtmc_aes_templates are successful.
    2) How does the connector hrtmc structural authority work. If I do a search for my username on this connector I get a result. If I do a search for a colleagues  username on the same connector I get no result. If this colleague wants to search for e.g. a central person he gets no result. How can I fill up the index for struct authorization with the colleagues username?
many thanks for answers and have a nice day
    Martin

    Hi RD,
the TREX you will need for this will be specific to HCM and called via HCM's own strategy in ECC 6.0. This - for all I know - should be through AS ABAP for indexing and AS Java for searching.
This should have nothing to do with the Portal's access to TREX, as the functionality is HCM's, even if provided to Portal in an iView. For the specifics, please check your HCM Master Guide and other documentation and/or discuss with your technical consultant for ECC 6.0.
    Best, Karsten

  • Talent Management-RePublishing Plans

    Hi Everybody,
I'm unable to re-publish the plans in Talent Management, as it says that there are broken supervisor hiearchies which need to be fixed first. I ran a report and found three employees with broken hierarchies, all three employees are terminated, so I've excluded them from the system by adding them to the Eligibility Override EIT. Normally when I do that, it fixes the problem and I'm able to re-publish the plans. However, this time it hasn't worked and the employees in question are still appearing as having broken hierarchies. Can you please investigate and see if it is in fact these three employees causing the problem and if so, why the system is ignoring the fact that I've excluded them in the EIT. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I'm not technical, so can't comment on whether the SQL is correct. But, you can set objectives outside of the appraisal period, so your objectives might not yet be connected to a specific appraisal. Does your SQL allow for this?

  • How to Delete Development & Potential Form in Talent Management

    Hi Guruz,
Please let me know the correct method to delete forms (Development & potential )forms in Talent assessment .
We deleted the forms via PHAP_CATALOG, but they are still visible in Define Forms for Talent Assessment under Talent Assessment, & the system is not allowing to delete it from this node as it gives the below mentioned error:
    Appraisal Template was not deleted:
    Message no. HRHAP00_TEMPLATE010
    Diagnosis
The system may have canceled the deletion for one of the following reasons:
The system cannot delete the element, for example if it is a category group.
    The business check found errors.
The element is already released or in history.
The system could not delete the entire structure (one of the above- mentioned reasons could be the cause).
Please let me know what & how to get rid of this problem.
    Regards
    Bharti Sood

    Hi Bharti,
You must first delete the template names from the customizing tables where it is stored (under Talent Assessment node of Talent Management and Talent Development). Then you delete it under PHAP_CATALOG. Unfortunately you have created an databse inconsistency and you might need to see if Basis can delete the values from the table.

    Hi Experts,
What is the significance of Talent what special areas to be captured.
Is Talanemt Management only a combination of Personnel Dev,Training & Dev,Succession planning being in
E-recruitment or Its a different module altogether.
if a client all has Performance Management, T&D,Appraisal then talaent Management implementation is going to be ontop of this or its a different module which needs diferent configuration.
    Please guide.

    Hi Luke,
1/ Would like to requset you to provide me which are the powerful modules in SF Talent Mangement those are stronger than the conventional ECC that i can suggesst to the client.
2/ What are the major differences in SF Talent Mgmt & LSO.
3 How effective is SF recruitment comparing to SAP E-rec.
3/ To have SF Talent Mgmt which modules the client has to go for in SF.
4/ What are the licensing cost involved in SF Talent Management & LSO.
As i said at 1st it would be OM,PA,TM,PY & ESS/MSS on premise ECC 6/7.
If you could provide me some link for reference along with 1liner answers then that would really help me in understanding.
