Automatic lot creation on fixed frequency

Hi All,
Please suggest a way to do automatic lot creation for a particular material on a defined frequency. Can I use audit inspection to generate inspection lots automatically. I will be having an inspection plan assigned to this material.
Scenario is material going to unrestricted direcly without quality on it, on every 6 month, one inspection lot should get generated for this material for each vendor.

In std SAP we dont have option of generating Automatic lot creation based on periodic basis. But we can provide some workaround soultion.
Option 1:
USe Source Insepction concept. Here Inspection lot will be created for every P.O. Here u can relase P.O line items in QI07 which can sceduled in Job planning on periodic basis. Use Skip inspection lot concept to skip unwanted lots. This has direct relation with Q-Info record.
Option 2:
U can generate automatic lot creation based on Stability study concept. Here are the following steps
Initiate Stablility study
Create Initial sample
Perform intial test
Confirm initail sample
stability planning
Define storage condition
create testing schedule
store stability sample
define cycle start
schedule
complete stability study.
Option 3:
To get Automatic lot creation u can use BAPI QPL1_INSPECTION_LOT_CREATE . When a due date come for inspection,it created a lot of 01 / Z-01 inspection type automatically through QA01( call the program ,enter the inspection lot origin & material,vendor & save). Create Z-T code which has vendor material plant combination.
Execute the above T-code based on Periodic basis.
Explore above 3 options and choose best one according to ur requirements.

Process Order COR2, main product + co-product automatic lots creation

Hello Gurus, I'm a programmer but before starting the enhancment of standard I want to be sure that there is no other solution (in customizing)
I have the following situation
Maint Product A
Co-product B
Current situtation
I have a process order in COR2, when the process order is released and than saved automatic inspection lot is created only for Maint Product A
Requiered situation
Requiered situation is that while process order release also the inspection lot for Co-product B should be created
Is there any chance to do it using customizng
At the moment for both materials A and B there is the same inspection type assinged and the orgin type is '04' and also the control of inspection lot creation is set to 'Y'.
Is there any chance to change sometihg (inspection type, orgin type, something in MM)
NOTE: I would like to do it without doing a GR for Co-product B but exactly have a lot for Co-Product after releasing PO in COR2 like it is for Main Product now

I dont think we can have a inspection lot created automatically for the co-products upon the Order creation .i.e release...
U would have to make it via enhancement... also i believe u can customize a separte inspection type and then use it to create inspection lot..

WM : Automatic replenishment TO for fixed bin from warious storage types

Hi Gurus,
We have storage type 011 - fixed Bin storage type , 022 - self Storage and 055 - High Rack Storage. Also we have set up for automatic TO creation for fixed bin in fixed bin storage type when stock falls below minimum fixed bin quantity.
My problem is : system only creates TO when there is some stock in 055 - High Rack Storage. If there is no stock in 055 system doesn't create any TO. But there's lots of stock in 011( other than fixed bin) and 022.
we want system to serch for 055/ 022/ 011 sequence. So if there is no stock in 055, it should go for 022 and then 011.
Can anyone advise me on this? I will be really grateful.

I have this scenario; my client wants to make an automatic inspection lot creation as well as posting to quality inspection stock of certain materials upon reaching its next inspection date defined in the msc2n transaction; how shall i make the inspection set-up of this materials??Thanks

Ok, you have me confused. You want to do this as a one time thing? I thought you want it to look every day, or every week, for batches that have reached their next inspection date?
If its a one time thing, then yes, just run QA07 one time. It only looks at unrestricted inventory. Do not set up any parameters in the bottom half of the screen for expiration date. If you do, any of those that have reached expiration date will be moved to blocked stock and no inspection lots created.
If you want this to run regularly, you, or someone, needs to use QA05 to set up the batch job to run on a regular basis witht the approriate "days" value for how often your running it and how far in advance of the inspection date you want lots created. And of course tick on "to inspection stock".
There is no "automatic creation" as I think your thinking. You either run QA07 once a day, or once a week or as often as you want to. OR you set it up in a batch job (QA05) to be run once a day, once a week or as often as you want to.
When the batch job is running, it 'appears' that the lots get created automatically. But it is the QA07 program being run in batch that is creating them.

Problem during automatic PO creation

I have run MRP for a certain material using MD03 .Message shows MRP run successfully.Then I checked the status of this by using transactions MD04 and it shows the PR no for that material.But when I want to create automatic PO through ME59n using that PR no , message shows no suitable PR exist.I have also set the Automatic PO indicator in Material master Purchasing view.
What is the reason behimd it.

For automatic PO creation follow the below points.
1) Material Master purchasing view tick automatic PO check box
2) Vendor Master purchasing view tick automatic PO check box.
3) Maintain Source list for Vendor & Material.
4) Maintain Purchase Info Record.
5) Create a Purchase Requisition.
6) Use T.Code: ME59N & execute for PR for vendor, you will be able to create automatic PO.
Ensure that Purchase Info Record should be there.
If you have more than one vendor then fixe only one vendor in source list.

Automatic TO creation

Hi i need a help for following question,
In warehouse movement type customization we can set a indicatior for automatic TO creation(background processing), but where to define this indicator and interval for this background processing like after every day or after 'xyz" hrs. Again how to see the report "RLAUTA10" (The transfer order for transfer requirement is created by report RLAUTA10, which is scheduled as a regular job)

Hi Kamlakar,
The program RLAUTA10 creates the TOs in the background. This is a program and you can execute through SE38. This can also be scheduled as background job with different frequencies.
Now, You want to have different TO generation frequnecies for different movement types. This can be controlled using the 'Configure the automatic TO' indicator at followign location
LE -> WM -> ACtivities -> Transfer -> Setup auto TO creation
in the option 'auto TO creation' control data, create the indicator for your warehouse
assign the indicator to movement type in 'assgin control' option.
go to movement type and assign the indicator to movement type in 'background processing' Auto TO field.
Now you go to SE38, execute the program 'RLAUTA10', enter warehouse and the indicator, save the variant.
this program and variant can be used to setup the background job in SM36. while scheduling the job, you can specify the start conditions, frequency etc.
Bottom line is, you control the background job (RLAUTA10) frequency while defining the job in SM36. you can have different variants for the same program and schedule to run at different intervals. hope this helps.

Change of Inspection Lot Specifications at the time of lot creation

We are using In-process inspeciton.
At the time of Production Order release an Inspection Lot is created automatically.
We want the Lot Specification values to be changed based up on the Configuration of the Sales Order.
Is there any User Exit or BADI that can be used for this purpose?

Hii,
Lot specifcation values cannot be changed once inspection lot is created. If u know specification only after creation of inspection lot then u include unplanned inspection charcteristics. Here u can define spec after lot creation also.

Can I automate the creation of a cluster in LabView using the data structure created in an autogenerated .CSV, C header, or XML file?

Can I automate the creation of a cluster in LabView using the data structure created in an auto generated .CSV, C header, or XML file? I'm trying to take the data structure defined in one or more of those files listed and have LabView automatically create a cluster with identical structure and data types. (Ideally, I would like to do this with a C header file only.) Basically, I'm trying to avoid having to create the cluster by hand, as the number of cluster elements could be very large. I've looked into EasyXML and contacted the rep for the add-on. Unfortunately, this capability has not been created yet. Has anyone done something like this before? Thanks in advance for the help.

Wow! Thanks for the quick response! We would use this cluster as a fixed data structure. No need to change the structure during runtime. The cluster would be a cluster of clusters with multiple levels. There would be not pattern as to how deep these levels would go, or how many elements would be in each. Here is the application. I would like to be able to autocode a Simulink model file into a DLL. The model DLL would accept a Simulink bus object of a certain data structure (bus of buses), pick out which elements of the bus is needed for the model calculation, and then pass the bus object. I then will take the DLL file and use the DLL VI block to pass a cluster into the DLL block (with identical structure as the bus in Simulink). To save time, I would like to auto generate the C header file using Simulink to define the bus structure and then have LabView read that header file and create the cluster automatically. Right now I can do everything but the auto creation of the cluster. I can manually build the cluster to match the Simulink model bus structure and it runs fine. But this is only for an example model with a small structure. Need to make the cluster creation automated so it can handle large structures with minimal brute force. Thanks!

Inspection Lot Creation after UD

Dear PP/QM Masters,
I have question regarding inspection lot creation after UD for the same batch number.
There will be several GR during one shift for one SKU with the same batch number.
F.E. shift (6 am to 2 pm) at 7 there will be first GR of finished good. Inspection lot is automaticly created and QA at 9 will make UD for this lot. If production will made GR after that a new inspection lot will be created for the same production batch.
Is there any possibility to make only one inspection lot even if UD is taken.

I guess what bothers me is that for your selection of "2" you include date. Our standard SAP system does not include date on that key choice. Just material/batch/storage location.
I re-tested one just to be sure. Created a new process order for 30. Reveived 15. Got an 04 inspection lot created. Processed the lot, posted out the 15 to unrestricted and made the UD with an Accept code.
Then I GR another 10. These went straight to unrestricted as I expected. Then I posted the final 5 in a 3rd GR. Same result.. straight to unresticited.
I'm not sure why your not seeing the same. Again, seeing that 'date' in your number # choice is bothersome. If some modified that to include the date of receipt and included the time stamp in that, then your going to get new inspection lots.
Are you sure they didn't post it to a different batch on the second or third posting. And of course, this does refer to the same process order.. correct? You not using three different process orders for this are you?

Inspection lot creation during STO return

Hello Gurus,
is there a trick to trigger inspection lot creation during STO return ?
Scenario is the following:
1 - Creation of STO
2 - Supplying plant ships materials... stock in transit
3 - Receiving plant receives materials
4 - Materials with defects -> Receiving plant add new line with return tick on the same material
5 - GI from Receiving plant... stock in transit
6 - Supplying plant receives materials -> Inspection lot has to be created
I used inspection type 08 on Receiving plant w/o success.

No inspection lot is created when we return Materials to Vendor (Plant A) even if we maintain Inspection type 02.
Before STO customizing, Plant B creates a subcontracting purchase order. Next Materials are sending to Vendor (Plant A) and put in "Stock provided to vendor" (Transaction ME2O).
Vendor (Plant B) creates a Repair request (Sales document / Transaction VA01). Next run VRRE to reveice Materials to repair. Inspection lot is automatically created. The usage decision triggers the creation of Service order to manage all the repairing flow. Last step is to deliver Materials to Plant A and create Repair invoice.
Repair request supports all repairing flow (inspection lot, service oder...), especialy status (out of warranty or not).
After STO customizing, I expected the following result:
1° - Return STO to Vendor (Plant A) / ME21N with return tick
2° - Plant B ships Materials / MIGO wih 101 (SAP converts in 161)
3° - Stock in Transit
4° - Materials receive to Vendor (Plant B) / VL10B
5° - Creation Inspection lot
6° - UD triggered Service order creation
7° - ...Repairing flow with Service order...
8° - Materials ship to Plant B
9° - Repair invoice
10° - Stock in Transit
11° - Plant B receives Materials
As I said, there are 2 blocking points:
- Inspection lot not created when Vendor receives Materials
- Service order not created automatically (because no Repair request to support inspection lot, service order...)

Inspection Lot Creation after GR

Dear PP/QM Masters,
I have question regarding inspection lot creation after goods receipt.
There will be GR once at the end of the shift with batch number. As batch generated during shift will be different, there will be multiple GR entry. But for every material only one result recording per shift is required and not for all batches generated. So, how to avoid creation of so many inspection lot? Automatic Inspection lot creation is required hence no question of manual creation of inspection lot.
I checked function module QAPP_CUST_IP_CREATE for inspection point functionality but its description You can use the available function module to generate inspection points for the inspection during production already when the inspection lot is created. Can I use function module QAPP_CUST_IP_CREATE for restricting creation of inspection lot after GR?
Request all Masters to help me in solving this.

First of all thanks a lot for your response.
I checked Control Inspection Lot setting but even that can not solve my problem as in our case though GR with confirmation will be once in a shift (though in system shift is not defined) but batches will be different and hence material document will be separate. And requirement is to have single inspection lot per shift even if batches and material documents are separate.
One option is to have multiple line items for GR in MB31 or MIGO or in COR6N. But all this transaction allows only one line item for GR against process order. So, can you suggest any function module or option to have multiple line items for GR.

Inspection lot creation after receipt of certain quantities?

My user requires the creation of an inspection lot of 1 piece after the receipt of 200 pcs in stock as a kind of audit. This is not a goods receipt feom production as it will be done for each piece. .but was is needed is an event to create a lot woth piece for after receiving 200 pcs ( these receipts most provably will be on different days & in different material documents)
Can I apply this requirement through sap standard or user exit ar abap?

each piece will be assigned to a batch in a one to one relationship
One piece represent one batch, Correct? And when GR is done against production for this batch, you get an inspection lot. QA personal do the inspection and material moves to Unrestricted stock.
Beside, the goods receipt from production that will be performed as mentioned, the user may re-inspect one piece already present in the unrestricted use as a kind of audit. the user wants this auditing lot to be generated automatically for every 200 pieces instead of creating it manually.
After the initial inspection is over and material is lying into Unrestricted, user would again inspect each of them and need automatic creation of inspection for every 200th piece/ batch. Correct?
Is this what you are looking for?
If that is the case, I don't think automatic lots can be created since there is no movement involved. User is simply doing retesting but nothing in system then how would SAP understand that an inspection lot is required?
Even if some development is done to generate an inspection lot for every 200th batch received into Unrestricted, you would still need an inspection type to be activated against the material and some movement to be triggered.

Automatic Batch Creation at the time of GR for Customer Returns

We are using batch management with functionality of automatic batch creation for variuos movement type 101/103/105/561 etc. with updation of classification in foreground.
We are even using automatic batch creation for Inbound delivery. By configuring IMG object "Batch creation Control for Inbound"
Now we have a new requirement of automatic Batch creation for GR of Customer Return against Customer Return SO (Movement type 651). And updation of classification in foreground.
I have tried a lot but couldn't find how to configure the same.
Can I create GR custmor returns 651 thru transaction MIGO?
Any suggestion how to achieve this.

Hi,
What Sairam said is correct, the idea of automatic batch creation is so that when you manaufacture or create an item you can allocate the characteristics to that batch and give it a number.
You then sell that batch to a customer.
When the customer returns the item the system should NOT automatically allocate a new batch number to it because this is breaking a VERY important audit trail.
In batch management (in some inductries more than others) it is VITAL to have a full audit trail of a bathc so that any problems concerning that batch can be traced back to their origin. What you are trying to do is to break that audit trail (although I can fully understand what you are trying to do).
I would leave the batch allocation for returns as manual and then when you transafer the item from returns to unrestricted (or quality etc.) tyou can then input the new characteristics.
