Backflush of spare materials

Hi All,
Is it mandatory to do some settings in configuration (SPRO/IMG settings) to   backflush spares material during confirmation of maintenance order apart from  setting  backflush indicator in MRP2 view of material master, in work center & also in maintenance order.
In PP module, for some spare material master , in MRP2 view, backflush indicator is set. Now the same materials are also used in maintenance order but maintenance people do not want to issue the material automatically i.e by backflush process. Rather they want to issue materials manually by t-code MIGO. Once this indicator is set in material master, even though reservation no generated from maintenance order , material  can not be issued manually i.e by t-code MIGO.
How can I resolve this issue?

Hi Rajib,
No configuration required.
In material master MRP2 view you need to select option 3 - In the material master record, the backflush indicator has the characteristic "Work center decides", the indicator being set in the work center.
Now for your PP work center tick mark this back flush indicator in Basic Data tab and remove tick mark for this back flush indicator in your Maintenance Work Center
Once your order operation has this maintenance work center your component assigned to it wont hv this back flush indicator.
Then you can issue material via MIGO.

  • Spare materials sending out for repair

    All,
    Pls see the scenario :
This is a project in Egypt .
Spare materials , for some repairs business will send outside the factory to some vendors for repair .
After repair same material will take back .
    1. Whether this is subcontracting or comes in services ?
    2. Whether we can use (parts provided to vendor ) ?
    Kindly advise.
    regards,

    Hello Sandeep,
Yes, absulately this is subcontracting scenario.
In my previous project, the client use to send Machine shaft for polishing purpose so we applied the same scenario, but without split valuation.
In you case, the final product and component product can be the same or you can use split valuation as suggested by Manish.
When you create the purchase order for subcontracting put the material number as final product and also as component (qty will be the same). We are just paying for service.
If you use service order then you want be able to track the qty of material which is provided to the vendor.
    Hope this helps.

  • BackFlushing of the materials

I wanted to know what exactly is the backflushing of the material means , what circumstances recomends for backflushing the material, what is the advantage of the same and how it is mapped in SAP MM.

The goods issue posting for backflushed components is performed automatically at the time of order completion confirmation.
Let's say this material is a component which existed in a finish goods material, and we checked backflush for this material in MRP2 tab, once we finish producing a finish goods and try to do a confirmation for a specific production order,if we check backflush for this material as a component in a finish goods material, then system will help us to issue this component automatically if all setting for this component is ok(e.g inventory of this component is enough to issue, posting period is correct which reflect in posting date),otherwise,we need to issue component from warehouse manually, let me know if you have further question about it.

  • 103 movement  inspection for spares and engineering  materials

can any body tell me how to control  engineering and & spares materials when  i done  GR  against 103 movement  inspection lot is created but there is no control of  goods is keep in quality but system allow 105 movement  total quantity also how we will  control the  quantity if it is in quality stock any settings is required kindly send me  guidelines

    Hii,
103 movement is GR w.r.t P.O into GR blocked stock. Generally GR blocked stock means keeping the material outside the plant. The stock displayed in GR bloocked does'nt considered into inventory stock.
103 movement will be activated were the stores want to put some Quantity check on the material & where the Purchase dept does'nt want to take any accountability for the supplier deficit stocks. (In 101 immediately accountability take place and reflected in the inventory and FI document gets generated).
In MIGO after 103 movement, user can immediately release stock from GR block stock in the same screen (A05 Release from GR blockd stock). From Quality point of view u need to go with 103-105 movement type. Here don't activate Quality for 103 movement but activate quality for 105 movement type.Bcoz in 103 after inspection, u cannot show defect material in Blocked stock and it will remain in GR blocked stock. Confusion remains between new material and defect material where bothe will remain in GR blocked stock.
In short 103 - Quantity check (stores activty, no Inpsection lot)
105 - Quality check (Quality activity. Inspection lot)

  • Backflush from HU managed Sloc

    Dear Experts,
Is it possible to do backflushing of raw materials from a HU managed sloc to a process order? If yes,how do I do it?
    Regards,
    Sachin

    Hi,
No it is not possible .
If you issuing components in handling unit then you need to use t code  COPAWA - Work Order - Components  and COWBHUWA - Goods Issue for Work Order .
For components in handling unit you have to do these transactions. Backflush cant take place if you use these t codes.

  • Mateial Backflush issue

    HI
During process order confirmation the system is backflushing material but i have put backflush indicator in materials master, process order. and resource. what could be the reason.
    Regards
    ahmed

    Dear Ahmed,
Without setting the backflush indicator is the system performing GI at the time of order confirmation?
If so means check whether in T.Code OPK4 for the order type, plant combination the check box for all components is set under
the generally valid settings tab page.
    Check and revert.

  • Stock not getting updated after confirmation of order

    dear all
In our scenario x is final product.x1( semifinished),x2(spare) are dependent materials for final product. x1 has bom r1 and r2 (raw materials).I put all x1,x2,r1,r2 stock available in storage.
To get final product , only final assy of above materials by labour.PIR (md61) created for x and planning run. After planning run, planned order generated for x and converted in to production order and released.
My requirement is on confirmation of production order, backflushing of dependent materials as per bom should be done.
On confirmation of order in co15,saved.But, stock is not getting updated.what might be the reason? please give me some solution

    Hi
1.Set the Back Flush Indicator in your Material Master for the components. ( You can do this in Work center and Production Order too )
    2. You can also set the flag for the field " All Components" in Order Confirmation Parameters (OPK4).
    3. If you want to post the Fert also at the time of confirmation use the Control Key which has " Auto GR"  enabled.
While confirming the Order press the Button "Goods Movement" to ensure that the components are present there for the movement.

  • Pending Items Report

The requirement is that, In my Order, WBS element is there...the WBS is having the BOM of all the items of the main material...along with that there are some spares also or some extra material like nut/bolts which are there in the order but not linked with the WBS. they are entered seperatly by the users in the SO
The Users are normally going for the delivery of the main component i.e. the material in the WBS linked but not doing the delivery for the spares...so now they want a report of all the spares materials in the SO so that they can do the delivery for those items also.
Any suggestions would be of great help.

  • Maintenance order - component - pr + reservation

    dear pm experts,
In maintenance order i wanted to created components pr + reservation, is it possible.
please let us know whether this is possible with maintenance order or service order ?
currently i am having setting either for pr or reservation number only in maintenance order -->
    components.
    thanx in advance
    regards srihari

Yes, I agree with u, but in CS scenario
    Like X - My company  Y- Vendor  Z- Customer
    (Outsourced activity)
while doing Some Maintenance Activity ie., LPG Compressor at Customer Premises, we need some spares/materials and complete the service, here I raise cs notification -PR-PO on vendor in Service Order for PR-spares and vendor supplied at customer location, after service complete
I do migo/gr for same service order & raise sales order in same cs notification and take same same spares/materials in sales order, after sales order is saved,
requirement i have to do delivery of the same spares which are in service order -pr-spares thru outbound delivery, and
(this delivery from special stock or etc, is required as per legal requirement, hence need advise)
raise billing document thru vf01 against outbound delivery number.
kindly let us know any solution to achieve the above

  • Transfer posting

    Hi,
There is a scenario that there are some branches which are considered as sales office. when spares materials are sent to this branches the stock should be available at this branch levels . To do this storage locations are made for each branch. But all this storage locations belongs to a single plant. The requirement is to generate excise invoice when transfer posting using Movement type 311 is done to transfer stock to branches. But no excise invoice is generated for storage to storage transfer in one plant. How can i incorporate this? Please suggest. Also we will not be treating branches as plants.
    Regards
    John

    Hi
You could use the STO process even within the same plant ans this will generate deliveries. Extra work and transactions but it should achieve your requirements

  • Service order confirmation/completion

    Hi,
Can anyone tell me what exactly is meant by service order completion ( flag order) and confirm ( IW41). At what state of the business process do I need it.
To my understanding a service order is complete after billing and confirmed once customer approves.
Please throw a light on this.
    Thanks
    Sam

    Hi ASHIsh,
We do not have the customer service module or the service management but we have the confirmation of service in the document flow. The flow is as follows. standard order ( OR ) - > delivery ( LF ) - > Handling unit - > Confirmationof service. I checked the document flow table VBFA and I see that these confirmation of service is for items which are of item category TAP ( sales BOM header ). That is what I concluded that it shows up for TAP since this item is not pickable ane hence not packable. And we have this come up for all the sales BOM deliveries where there is an item category of TAP for sales BOM header. Still if any one can please throw some light on this that would be greatly appreciated.

Path: Logistics -> Customer Service -> Service Processing -> Confirmation -> Entry -> Individual Confirmation.
After a service order is entered in the system, a service activity would be carried out for the customer. Using this option we would enter the person who carried out the activity, the time taken, the material used with their quantity. Further a billing request would be raised based on these details.
    Reward points if iit helpful

  • Backdating issue of va01,vl01n and vf01

my company operates two plant and we just found out that some spares materials were to be sold to the other plant last month which was not sold.....so we want to create a sales order, create delivery and billing......but we want to backdate it base on last month.........how do i go about that

If your MM and FI periods are open, then you can do this.
Create a sale order and at schedule line level, you can manipulate the date with some previous month's date.
Now while creating delivery, maintain previous months's date in "Actual GI Date" and do PGI.  Finally create an invoice where you can see the date what you maintained in Actual GI Date would be your billing date.
    thanks

  • Production order confirmation problems

My production facility has been having problems for years centered around the production order confirmation process.  My colleagues and I are considering submitting an OSS note to SAP, but figured that we should present our problems in these forums before making that next step.
Here are some individual issues which I believe may be related.  All of these issues occur off and on at random.  They will typically occur when more users are working in the SAP system or when SAP is running slow.
    - When an order is confirmed and a label is printed, sometimes the quantity on the label will be incorrect.  Sometimes no label will print out at all.  When the order is unconfirmed and then reconfirmed again, a label prints out with the correct quantity.
    - When a confirmation is unconfirmed, the unconfirmation will not backflush the associated materials correctly.  Sometimes this error will appear in CO1P for us to re-confirm, but not always.
    - Sometimes confirmations will only backflush certain materials and not ALL the components within the production order.  When the confirmation is unconfirmed and then reconfirmed again, the confirmation will backflush all materials correctly.
These problems occur at random intervals and never present the user with an error.  Close to 100% of the time all the confirmation issues will be corrected by simply u201Cre-doingu201D the confirmation as we did the first time (no changes in the process).  Only the second time around there will not be any issues.  This leads me to believe there is some internal issue with SAP, perhaps involving which tables CO11N pulls from when a confirmation is made.
Any and all help is appreciated.  We currently run the AFS version of SAP.  This is my last stop before submitting an OSS note.

    Hi,
I have not worked on AFS, so consider the below as a pointer which might help:
When you post confirmations & notice that the components are not being backflushed, check in COGI it could be that there are some incorrect goods movement. You will be required to clear these entries from COGI.
I suspect that you notice these because, the confirmations are being posted even before the stock for the same has been received & hence the issue with labels as well.
Do a check on the above, if it resolves the issue, then i would suggest re-design the process to ensure you do not have COGI or COFC entries.
Also do a search in OSS for AFS specific notes on confirmation.
    Hope it helps.

    Vivek

    Header data
    Location and account assignment data
    Object data
    Settlement data
    Operation data
    Component data
    Use

Spare materials and utilities, which are required for service work, can be planned in the operation.
    Integration
Using the "worklist for notifications" for a maintenance or service order, you can group together similar notifications for processing. For more information, see Completion Confirmation.
Services at several similar objects installed at the customer can also be processed using a service order.
