BOM RELEASE

Dear All SAP Guru,
In our organization we required Release strategy in BOM stage like Purchase order.Once BOM created against the SFG / FG code it is under developement fully should not available for Production use unless responsible person release the same.
Thanks In advance,
Vijay Pabale

Dear Vijay,
Check this,
Your requirement cannot be mapped directly in SAP.Activate ECM for a specific BOM usage purpose.
1.Make ECM mandatory for all the users when creating/changing BOM.
2.Provide the authorization for the Engineering people for creating change numbers with release key.
3.Production people will be allowed to create/change BOM but not a change number ,so using the
change number let the production people create BOM,but unless if the relese key is not set in CC02
after creating BOM then the BOM will not become valid.
4.But some of the contraints are always your Engineering people should create a change number(for
changing existing BOM wihtout release key,for creating BOM with release key) in order to have the
better control.
(or else create BOM always with inactive status 2,by making the necessary configuration in T code OS28 and once the BOM is
ready, you can set the status to 1 in CS02. - I'm not sure whether this works out, check and confirm).
Check and come back with your queries.

  • BOM release procedure

    dear expert:
ours is Aapparel industry. as per our business scenerio merchandisers are creating their BOM against finish materials which is 150 to 200 in no. there are 3 to 4 merchandisers under one team leader. and the team leader is responsible to check the BOM consumption successively and sign it as approval. In SAP we need to configure the same so that after creating BOM by different merchandisers it will wait for approval as a list which is subject to checking by key points by their team leader. is there any solution like this. or how can i configure the same please suggest
    regards
    javed iqbal

    IQbal,
Your Team leader could mass change BOM header status in Engineering Workbench tcode :  CEWB.
Here select working Area as : SAP_BOM (Focus : BOM header). Various selection options are availble on the screen.
Say enter plant, BOm status = Non Active.  Next Hit Load Boms & tasklist icon
Then all Bom's in required plant that have inactive status will be loaded on screen.
Next select the BOm header materials that need status change. Also select the column that needs change (BOM status).
Next Select on MEnu screen Extras --> Mass Change
Enter new value : Active status
Finally Execute the change and save the work list.
Please follow each of the above steps to update all the Inactive Bom's with Active status.
I know this is not the easy way to execute this (unlike ME28) but it does the work on mass changing BOm status on large number of materials. Hope this helps you provide good solution to your customer.
    thanks,
    Ram

  • ECM-Release key doubt

    Hello team,
I have doubts on the below topic in ECM, i browsed through forum but i need some more clarity. If any one can help me it will be of great help.
Release key - In release key we have various areas where we can release like production, planning etc.
For example let us consider, i selected release to production (off course system says if we select production we need to select planing also).
I used this ECM to do changes in E bom released it to production using this key.
Does it mean a) P bom automatically gets updated with the changes which was used for E bom.
                          b) or is it like PP dept can use this data and make changes in P bom
                          c) System says it affects the respective areas what does that exactly mean
Please help me as i am confused.

  • Looking methods of integration Windchill and SAP systems.

Please advice how Windchill ESI makes synchronization of information (bills of material (BOM), released parts, documents, engineering changes, drawings) with SAP ?

    Hi,
I need to know the procedure for integrating SAP with Windchill using TIBCO adapter.
Is there any standard document for this..?
    Thanks,

  • CVP VXML Server Service Terminated Intermittently

    Hi, all.
Recently we have implemented the ICM 7.5 with CUCM 7.1 and CVP 7.0(2). We have encountered strange problem whereby the VXML Server service in the CVP server (Call Server co-resident with VXML Server) terrminated intermittently. This problem happens even where the call volume to the hotline is low. However it happens more often when there is an influx of call volume.
Has opened a TAC case and the TAC has mentioned that it could be due to the hardware issue. We are using MCS-7845-I3-CCE1 for the CVP server. However, according to the TAC, the supported hardware based on the latest CVP BOM 7.0(2) are:
    MCS-7845-I3-CCE2
    MCS-7845-H2-CCE2/CCE3/CCE4
    MCS-7845-I2-CCE2/CCE3/CCE4
But before implementing the system, we have gone through the CVP BOM released at that point of time and it stated that MCS-7845-I3-CCE1 was supported.
Anyone has encountered the similar problem? Is it really due to the hardware issue? Appreciate any advice and reply. Thanks in advanced.
    Regards,
    Eric

To add to that, ES22 for CVP7.0(2) will update JRE shipped with CVP to JRE 1.5 update 19 to avoid JRE crashes.

  • Release to SNP from DP BOM

    Hello everybody,
I need a help of you.
I'm trying to do a release of a key figure in area of a DP-BOM.
I enter the transaction / SAPAPO/MC90 and release runs successfully, however, when I access the transaction / SAPAPO/RRP3 the orders are not created.
Is there any peculiarity in making a release from an area DP-BOM?
    Thanks

    Hi Geovana Juliani ,
Can u check whether materials/components you have use are create in APO as location-product master data and already assigned to model 000?
    Check  the date also.

  • Changes visible in BOM although ECM not released yet

    Hi,
I have a BOM which has been updated together with a change number. The change number still has status "in work" and not released.
When I go to CS03, with all dates removed on the selection screen, I see the changes in there with the change number. That is ok with me, because then I expect to also see future changes in the BOM.
But when I go into CS03, with today's date in both date fields on the selection screen, I expect to see the old version of the BOM which should still be valid until the ECM is released. Not the changes done by this specific ECM. CS03 shows the BOM with the changes already in, and I think that is not correct. Why should the changes show when the ECM is not released?
Is this behaviour SAP standard or could there be a mistake in the customizing of the ECM status?
    Any hint is useful.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
Though the status is set as "in work", the changes will be effected based on the valid from date maintained in change master CC01. You can practise putting a imaginary future date like 02.10.3333 on the valid from date in change master and when the change to be released change the valid from date as required.
You can also go through alternate date assignment in BOM.

  • Restrict documents from being assigned to a BOM while status is not release

    Hi,
I need certain documents to be restricted while they are still 'In preparation' status.
Currently eventhough the status is not released, user can assign a document to a BOM.
I am sure i am missing something. Let me know if anyone has done this. We are not using ECM at this stage.
    Regards,
    Edi

    Hi,
You can do this via workaround of authorization matrix.
    1. Create two users: Creator, Approver & Assigner
    2. Creator will not have authorization to release the document as well as to assign the document to BOM. Authorization to release the document can be prevented by authorization object C_DRAW_STA. The authorization of object linkage is controlled by object C_DRAD_OBJ
    3. Approver will have authorization to release the document.
    4. finally assigner will have only document to access the change document when it is released and only then he/she will be able to assign the object linkage.
Or you can go for BASi/User exit at the time of save to control the same.
    Thanks

  • BOM Error - WIP job not Releasing

    Hi,
I've a issue with a BOM because of which all WIP job for the assembly are failing, I'm not sure what the issue is, Please find the explanation below.
WIP job fails when try to Release it and also when I try to simulate the wip job using standard Simulate WIP job form, and click component button, I get this message.
'if the component is assigned to non-existing operation 1, then the same component but of different basis type cannot be assigned to minimum operation, because the merging of the component quantity would fail'
The component for operation 1, I dont see it being used again in the BOM for operation 1 with different basis type, not even end dated operation.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi Sandeep,
Thanks for responding. Yes, I do see a phantom supply type. I flipped "Inherit Phantom Op Seq" (BOM > Setup > Parameters) which was checked to unchecked but I encounter same error when I try to simulate wip job.
I'm attaching data for ope seq 1 here, I'm showing end dated too. There are several other operation sequences too though.
    item...op.....component...start date...end date.....supply type
    seq....Seq
    200.....1.....ITEM111.....1-Jan-10.....25-Oct-10.....Assembly Pull

  • ATO-release parameters to BOM & WIP

AutoCreate Configuration Items BMCCCI and AutoCreate Final Assembly Orders WICDOL have both sales order number as request parameter. We should have customer specific production release, which could be managed with customer specific sales order types if sales order type could be used as a parameter for BMCCCI and/or WICDOL. Does anyone know if order type is valid parameter for sales order number? Now this is not because of Value Set BOM_ATO_SRS_ORDER_NUM_TWO allos numbers only.

    Hi,
Maybe you are missing the Alternate_Bom_Code at header level. If you have multiple boms for the same item, and without using the alternate bom code, maybe you are trying to update the wrong bom, which doesn not contain the component. If you have only one bom with empty bom alternate designator, then verify that the component exists.
    Hope it helps

  • Apple Releases Security Update 2006-004 (PowerPC and Intel)

    From Macfixit................
Apple has released Security Update 2006-004 for Mac OS X in both PowerPC and Intel versions. This update requires Mac OS X 10.4.7 for either PowerPC or Intel, Mac OS X 10.3.9 or Mac OS X 10.3.9 Server.
This is the fourth major standalone security update for Mac OS X released this year.
Update procedure recommendation First, avoid performing any other operations (in Mac OS X or third-party applications) while the update process is occurring. In addition, before installing this security update, make sure all Apple-installed applications and utilities are in their original locations. Moving one of these applications to a different location on your hard drive can lead to an incomplete update. Also, disconnect any FireWire/USB devices before applying the update (except for your startup drive, if it is FireWire or USB, and your keyboard/mouse), then re-connect the devices one by one (checking for issues created by any particular device) after the update process is complete and the system has restarted.
    Enhancements in this release
Of most interest to general end-users:
a fix that prevents maliciously crafted Zip archives from causing condition where arbitrary code can be execute. In other words, prior to Security Update 2006-004 you could download a specially crafted file ending in .zip from a Web site or other location, and it could trigger the execution of malicious code.
a fix that disallows maliciously crafted Canon RAW images from creating a buffer overflow, potentially leading to arbitrary code execution. Prior to Security Update 2006-004, you could download or otherwise receive a Canon RAW file that could allow execution of malicious code on your system.
similar to the above, a fix that prevents maliciously crafted GIF images from causing an integer overflow, potentially leading to arbitrary code execution.
new download validation that will catch certain HTML files defined by Safari as "safe" that may actually contain malicious JavaScript code. After applying Security Update 2006-004, these files will not be automatically opened.
Protection against maliciously crafted HTML documents that can also open the door for arbitrary code execution by accessing deallocated objects.
A full list of enhancements is as follows:
    AFP Server
An issue in the AFP server allows search results to include files and folders for which the user performing the search has no access. This may lead to information disclosure if the names themselves are sensitive information. If the permissions of the items allow it, the contents may also be accessible. This update addresses the issue in Mac OS X v10.3.9 by ensuring that search results only include items for which the user is authorized. For Mac OS X v10.4 systems, the issue was addressed in Mac OS X v10.4.7. Available for: Mac OS X v10.3.9, Mac OS X Server v10.3.9:
The AFP server contains an integer overflow that can be triggered by an authenticated user. A malicious user with access to the AFP server may be able to cause a denial of service attack or arbitrary code execution with system privileges. The AFP server is not enabled by default on Mac OS X. This update addresses the issue by performing additional validation. Credit to Dino Dai Zovi of Matasano Security for reporting this issue. Available for: Mac OS X v10.3.9, Mac OS X Server v10.3.9, Mac OS X v10.4.7, Mac OS X Server v10.4.7.
On Mac OS X Server, the AFP server supports reconnection of file sharing sessions after a network outage. The storage of reconnect keys is world-readable. It may be possible for an authenticated local user to read the reconnect keys, use them to impersonate another user over AFP, and access files or folders with the privileges of the impersonated user. This update addresses the issue by protecting the reconnect keys with appropriate file system permissions. This issue only affects Mac OS X Server. Available for: Mac OS X Server v10.3.9, Mac OS X Server v10.4.7.
An unchecked error condition exists in the AFP server that may lead to a crash. By carefully crafting an invalid AFP request, an attacker may be able to trigger this condition and cause a denial of service. This update addresses the issue by handling the formerly unchecked error condition. Available for: Mac OS X v10.3.9, Mac OS X Server v10.3.9, Mac OS X v10.4.7, Mac OS X Server v10.4.7
    Bluetooth
The security of the Bluetooth Setup Assistant has been improved in this update for Mac OS X v10.4.7. The length of the automatically generated passkey used for pairing has been increased from six characters to eight characters. Available for: Mac OS X v10.4.7, Mac OS X Server v10.4.7
    Bom
An issue in Bom's compression state handling may cause heap corruption. By carefully crafting a corrupt Zip archive and persuading a victim to open it, an attacker may be able to trigger this condition which could lead to an application crash or arbitrary code execution. Note that Safari will automatically open archives when "Open `safe' files after downloading" is enabled. This update addresses the issue by properly handling such malformed Zip archives. Credit to Tom Ferris of Security-Protocols.com for reporting this issue. Available for: Mac OS X v10.3.9, Mac OS X Server v10.3.9, Mac OS X v10.4.7, Mac OS X Server v10.4.7.
    DHCP
A stack buffer overflow exists in bootpd's request processing. By carefully crafting a malicious BOOTP request, a remote attacker may be able to trigger the overflow and cause arbitrary code execution with the privileges of the system. Note that bootpd is not enabled by default in Mac OS X, and must be manually configured in order to be enabled. This update addresses the issue by performing additional bounds checking. Available for: Mac OS X v10.3.9, Mac OS X Server v10.3.9, Mac OS X v10.4.7, Mac OS X Server v10.4.7.
    dyld
Malicious local system users may specify dynamic linker options that cause output to standard error. This output contains informational content and potentially user-specified content. As a result, privileged applications that parse or reuse standard error may be influenced inappropriately. This update addresses the issue by ignoring the problematic dynamic linker options in privileged applications. Credit to Neil Archibald of Suresec LTD for reporting this issue. Available for: Mac OS X v10.3.9, Mac OS X Server v10.3.9, Mac OS X v10.4.7, Mac OS X Server v10.4.7.
An improperly handled condition in the dynamic linker may lead to including dangerous paths when searching for libraries to load into privileged applications. As a result, malicious local users may cause the dynamic linker to load and execute arbitrary code with elevated privileges. This update addresses the issue by properly selecting search paths when executing privileged applications. Credit to Neil Archibald of Suresec LTD for reporting this issue. Available for: Mac OS X v10.4.7, Mac OS X Server v10.4.7
    fetchmail
Several issues in the fetchmail utility were discovered. The most serious issue could lead to arbitrary code execution when fetching mail from a malicious POP3 mail server. All issues are described at the fetchmail website (fetchmail.berlios.de). This update addresses the issues by updating fetchmail to version 6.3.4. In addition, fetchmail is no longer distributed as a privileged utility. Available for: Mac OS X v10.3.9, Mac OS X Server v10.3.9, Mac OS X v10.4.7, Mac OS X Server v10.4.7.
    gunzip
A race condition may allow a malicious local user to modify the permissions of files owned by another user executing gunzip. This issue is only exploitable when executing gunzip on files in directories that are modifiable by other users. This update addresses the issue by properly handling files while decompressing. Available for: Mac OS X v10.3.9, Mac OS X Server v10.3.9, Mac OS X v10.4.7, Mac OS X Server v10.4.7.
A directory traversal vulnerability is present in the command line utility gunzip when it is used with the non-default "-N" option. By carefully crafting a malicious compressed file and persuading a user to open it with "gunzip -N", an attacker may replace or create arbitrary files with the privileges of the victim. This update addresses the issue by properly stripping paths from files when decompressing. Available for: Mac OS X v10.3.9, Mac OS X Server v10.3.9, Mac OS X v10.4.7, Mac OS X Server v10.4.7
    Image RAW
By carefully crafting a corrupt Canon RAW image, an attacker can trigger a buffer overflow which may lead to an application crash or arbitrary code execution. This update addresses the issue by performing additional validation of Canon RAW images. This issue does not affect systems prior to Mac OS X v10.4. Available for: Mac OS X v10.4.7, Mac OS X Server v10.4.7.
    ImageIO
By carefully crafting a corrupt Radiance image, an attacker can trigger an integer overflow which may lead to an application crash or arbitrary code execution. This update addresses the issue by performing additional validation of Radiance images. This issue does not affect systems prior to Mac OS X v10.4. Available for: Mac OS X v10.4.7, Mac OS X Server v10.4.7
By carefully crafting a corrupt GIF image, an attacker can trigger an undetected memory allocation failure which may lead to an application crash or arbitrary code execution. This update addresses the issue by performing additional validation of GIF images. This issue does not affect systems prior to Mac OS X v10.4. Available for: Mac OS X v10.4.7, Mac OS X Server v10.4.7.

    LaunchServices
Download Validation may erroneously identify certain files containing HTML as "safe". If such a file is downloaded in Safari and Safari's "Open `safe' files after downloading" option is enabled, the HTML document will automatically be opened from a local URI. This would allow any JavaScript code embedded in the document to bypass access restrictions normally imposed on remote content. This update provides additional checks to identify potentially malicious file types so that they are not automatically opened. This issue does not affect systems prior to Mac OS X v10.4. Available for: Mac OS X v10.4.7, Mac OS X Server v10.4.7
    OpenSSH
Attempting to log in to an OpenSSH server ("Remote Login") using a nonexistent account causes the authentication process to hang. An attacker can exploit this behavior to detect the existence of a particular account. A large number of such attempts may lead to a denial of service. This update addresses the issue by properly handling attempted logins by nonexistent users. This issue does not affect systems prior to Mac OS X v10.4. Credit to Rob Middleton of the Centenary Institute (Sydney, Australia) for reporting this issue. Available for: Mac OS X v10.4.7, Mac OS X Server v10.4.7
    telnet
When connected to a TELNET server, the client may send the contents of arbitrary environment variables to the server if the server requests them. Some environment variables may contain sensitive information that should not be sent over the network. This update addresses the issue by ensuring that only non-sensitive variables and variables that the user has explicitly requested are are shared with the server. WebKit
A maliciously-crafted HTML document could cause a previously deallocated object to be accessed. This may lead to an application crash or arbitrary code execution. Buffer overflows were discovered in TIFF tag handling (CVE-2006-3459, CVE-2006-3465), the TIFF PixarLog decoder (CVE-2006-3461), and the TIFF NeXT RLE decoder (CVE-2006-3462). By carefully crafting a corrupt TIFF image, an attacker can trigger a buffer overflow which may lead to an application crash or arbitrary code execution. This update addresses the issue by performing additional validation of TIFF images. Systems prior to Mac OS X v10.4 are affected only by the TIFF NeXT RLE decoder issue (CVE-2006-3462). For BIOS Update: >>Use the MSI HQ Forum USB flasher<<

Hey guys real quick. So after updating to the new 7670IMS>310 bios so that I may use my GTX780s, I reinstalled with windows 8. Everything was fine until I was on teamviewer just last nite and upon switcing sides my bios got corrupted. How do I know you ask? Upon getting back into windows my LANS did not work so I had not internet connection. I tried uninstalling it from Device Manager and deleting it. After a few clrmos. I thought I would switch over to the other bios and see if the LAN works and it does because of the status lights because now it lights up. So I switch back to main bios and LAN works but it would not post whatsoever and just cycles through post finally ending with a " DE ". Not sure what the new LED DEBUG codes are but if someone could post it would be nice to be able to refer to it.
Anyways on win 8, no matter what it will not let me into windows And when it looks like it will...gives me "your pc ran into problems and we are collecting data and we'll restart after" message. After a few of these wonderful messages, I decided I was going to flash my bios again. It did look like I was sucessful until after restart it did the same thing. Going through post I saw 19,15 then shuts off. Does this and ends with "DE" pc still on but nothing. No windows.
I got lucky a few times and was able to get into my bios and decided I was going back to Win 7 64......I put the good ole XFX6990 back in and got windows 7 to reinstall and continue to flash my bios to an older one. I used your method before and it work> from 3.0 back to 1.5 then from 1.5 back to 1.2 for OC purposes. So i tried that method but it looked like it just reflash it with 3.1, odd.
So after a few restarts everything seems fine, no cycles just normal. When I reboot normal process no double boots or cycles this time so I thought hey, that fixed my corrupted bios somehow. I thought I gotten lucky.... So I switch out the good old 6990 and in with my 780s. Reinstalled win 7 and upon completion of windows update. Again with the cycles of 19,15 turns off does this again over and over like 5 or 6 times and ends with "DE"
And this is where I'm at atm. I remember when I DL'd the flasher and bios. I only saw 2 files which was " VALVE CHECK AND E7670IMS.310".
When I tried to do it again with the same method as the first I have "
    #BIOS
    #BK_6.Z7
    #EFIFLASH
    #MSIHQ(icon)
    #MSIHQ_INFO
    #MT420"
This time it does not go through the same when flashing, just tells me bios update complete. I've done this a million times and all have been successful.
Basically I'm still on 3.1 bios but I 'm curious as what other methods do you suggest I try now? I have left everything alone after reinstalling windows and updates. Everything seems okay, reboots fine no cycles and still get the random hit or miss with 15,19 turns off cycles and ends with "DE". Would like to get a resolution if possible. Thank you and I know I said real quick right, but really. Thanks for any help.
    I'm going nuts!!

  • Bom Component qty & WIP Quantity differ at Trget cost calculation

    Dear gurus,
i am facing the problem with WIP at target cost calculation in REM.
    My issue is
BOM Component qantity is 9.524 TO  and price is 2000 then total cost is  9.521*2000=19048.
but in WIP Report kkas in WIP explation it takes input qty 9.52 T0 and price 2000 then total price is 19040.
    Difference is 19048 - 19040 =8
and also when i am issuing actual qty i.e 9.524 in BOM then my price is 19048.00 ant at time of variance calculaton then quantaty variance as   9.52.0-9.524.0=-0.04  then 0.004*2000 =-8
    Please suggest solution for this.

    Hi
Rounding differences between target and actual values and quantities are not unlikely to occur and cannot always be avoided but can be minimized.
Small prices and price unit of 1 are likely to cause more of these rounding differences..
The actual credit is simply calculated as price * quantity. The target credit however is calculated during the variance calculation
and based on the sum of all items in the itemization/cost components of the cost estimate and therefore more accurate.
To avoid this I suggest to store the material price with a larger price unit, i.e. 1000
Std cost release stores price upto 2 decimals and target cost calculation goes upto 3 decimals...
Please check also the note 1265918 for more information to this topic.
