Budget check against overall limit value

Hi,
When i create a service activity in a project , a PR is created in the background. In this service activity under "limits" tabs, i enter the value of "overall limit"and "expected value".
Now, whenever the project budget is defined/maintained,the system checks the summation of the expected value against the released budget and gives the commitment error in PS and budget exceeded error in PR/PO respectively
My client has a requirement that the system should check the "overall limit" instead of "expected value" against the budget and accordingly give the error message.
Is this possible? I tried searching on these forums but didn't find anything. I am new to PS and any inputs to meet the above requirement will be highly appreciated.
Please suggest how can this requirement be met?
Thanks
Regards,
Dhwni

Hi Dhwni Patil,
We have exactly the same requirement than you. In fact we entered some months ago a service desk for this. SAP answered us that there is no way by standard the system works base on the expected value.
Did you finally find a way to met the requirement?
Thanks in adavance and Regards

  • Expected Value and Overall limit value usage.

    Hi Sap Gurus,
if the frame work order we have these 2 field Expected value and overall limit field value to be filled,
and the system allows Invoice (or GR) up to the maximum of the overall limit value. and only if the value entered crosses the overall limit value the system issues a Error Message ( which is agreeable)
but the logical requirement is that, if the value crosses the Expected value limit the system should display a warning message, indicating that the value has crossed the expected value.
is there any config or note to be applied to get this funtionality.
    Thanks and regards

    Hi,
Please refer to the Online documentation:
             Material Management
             -> External Services Management
                -> Procurement of Services: Processes
                   -> Accelerated and Simplified Processes
-> Use of Value Limits (for Unplanned Services)
Inside this documentation, it is stated that there is a variety of
    limits (combinations) to be used:-
    - Overall limit only
      - Overall limit and limit on services covered by contract item(s)
      - Overall limit, limit on services covered by contract item(s),
      - and other limit
      - Overall limit and other limit
      - Overall limit on services from model specifications or standard
        service catalog
      - Expected value
The expected value is used in the update of the
PO item value and this is the value used in the release strategy.
    Here is the f1 help:
    Expected value - ESUH-COMMITMENT
Value that the unplanned services (or the materials) covered by this
item are not expected to exceed.
    Use
If you are working with the release (approval) procedure for purchasing
documents, this value serves as the basis for a release strategy applied
    to this document.
If you tick 'No limit',you don't need to enter 'Overall limit',but must
enter 'Expected value'.Because 'Expected value' will affect the release
strategy. Please read the note 440601 connected to this.
Concerning the variability of actual cost of a purchase order,
expected value means that the unplanned services (or materials)
covered by this item are not EXPECTED to exceed.
It is not mandatory that it has the same value like total limit value.
Expected value can exceed, it is used for comparison with total limit
    value in cost control.
Expected value can also be combined with unlimited total limit in a
    purchasing document.

  • Budget Check against Asset Procurement

    Hi,
We have defined the budget profile and assigned the same in the project and we have loaded the budget against WBS element of AED 10000 and we define the tolerance limits as below
    Usage %    Indicator
    75              Warning
    85              Warning with mail
    100            Error message
And also we assigned the same WBS element is asset master record and while we procuring the asset through PO for AED 9000 it is giving an error message of funds committments is less than 1500 by budgeted amount. And if we give lessthan  AED 8500 it is working fine and also for more than AED 10000.
Why it is giving the error mesage number BP613 even the funds committments were less than budgeted amount.

You can achieve your requirement thru PSM-Funds Management , by creating commitment items, you can control the asset procurement.
First search on the web for the PSM-FM documentation and then configure it.
And for the Acc Assign Cate A, change the field statuses for FM related fields.

  • Do not want Budget check & Commitment value for purchase Requisition

    Hi Experts,
I hope you all are doing well.
My client's requirement is that at the time of Creation of Purchase Requisition there should be no budget check against WBS element and also Commitment value should not be for Purchase Requisition.
    Please suggest.
    Thanks & Regards

    Hi Gokul,
    Thanks for ur quick reply.
I have done changes in tolerence limit (activated it for PO only).
Now i created 1 Project PR of more than value of budget (system didnt check the Budget against WBS) but when i am trying to create PO with reference to same PR, system is giving error of budget. That is OK for me.
Now my requirement is to not take PR value as commitment in my reports, i want only PO value in Commitment column of repport.
I have read all 3 notes suggested by you. Can u tell me whcih one should i implement to stop PR value as commitment in reports.
    Thanks & Regards

  • User Exit / BAdI to validate Overall Limit and Expected Value

    Hi SAP Gurus,
I have a requirement that needs to check if Overall Limit exceeds the Expected Value (This is in tcode ME21N). Is there any user-exit or badi I can use?
    Thanks,
    Eo

    Hi Sid,
In SE80, input MLSL in Function Group. Expand Screen folder-> open screen 115.
You can see the Module ROW_IN.  I created an enhancement in the subroutine ROW_IN that checks if ESUH-COMMITMENT (Expected value) is greater than ESUH-SUMLIMIT (Overall Limit). Hope this also solves your issue._
    Thanks,
    Eo

  • Grey out 'Overall Limit' field in ME23N/ME23

In ME23N (ME23), the 'Overall Limit' value of (Limit) Purchase Orders within the Limit tab can be amended even though the Purchase Order has been created and released.  Once the Purchase Order has been released the 'Overall Limit' value needs to be locked unless the Purchase Order has been un-released.
Can someone tell me how this can be done?
    John

    Hi John,
please check also the note 672719 question 2 related to this issue. The system behavies the same in case of PO's. Unfortunately the field selection settings in transaction ML90 do not have an effect on this behaviour.
    Additional information:
If you are working with the release (approval) procedure for purchasing
documents, the expected value serves as the basis for a release strategy applied
to this document, not the overall limit field.

  • Earmarked funds budget check in SRM

    Hello to all SRM experts,
I've added two customer fields (earmarked funds and earmarked funds item) in the account assignment according to note 672960 using the INCL_EEW_PD_ACC_CSF structure.
Now we need to add those fields to the standard account assignment check performed by the system.
We are using ECC 6.0 for our B/E system and SRM 5.0 deploying the extended classic scenario.
What the client expects is for a budget check against the earmarked fund along side with the FM budget check.
Any ideas how to add those to customer fields to the standard account check?

  • PO release strategy on Overall limit of the PO

    HI All,
Presently release strategy in R/3 Purchase order is triggered on Total net order value ( i.e. CEKKO - GNETW ) > 250.
For limit PO it triggered on Expected value but we want to trigger it on Overall Limit value.
( If Overall limit = 1000 and Expected value = 100 release strategy should trigger on Overall limit)
    Please help on this.
we have used the enhancement used :  M06E0004 , Exit EXIT_SAPLEBND_002.
But I do not find the table or field showing the overall limit of the PO so that I can put the same in my purchase order release stucture.
Thanks in advance, will appreciate any help on this regard,
    Anurag Goel

    Hi
The expected value is the value that the item is not likely to exeed. in std SAP the expected value serves as a creterian for a possible release procedure for limit p.o

  • PO Release strategy on Overall Limit

    HI All,
Presently release strategy in R/3 Purchase order is triggered on Total net order value ( i.e. CEKKO - GNETW ) > 250.

    Vikas

    Dear Vikas,
you can use enhancement M06E0004 , Exit EXIT_SAPLEBND_002.
This allows to change values in structure CEKKO based on specific conditions.
First after activating you have to put this line:
    e_cekko = i_cekko.
This means that no change will be made to cekko structure. Then if you want to change gnetw value, do something like this:
    e_cekko = i_cekko.
    If xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.
    e_cekko-gnetw = xxxxxxxxx.
    endif.
Maybe you can have multiple items so you will have probably to loop on IT_BEKPO table to get the total  Overall Limit for all items in your document and then transfer the total value.
    Good luck,
    SL

  • Budget controle and the field Overall Limit in a PO

When we are making a budget from 50.000 in CO and creating a PO for 100 then in the the PO tab Limits you see Expected value 100.
When you fill in the field overall Limit 100.000. It is possible to post a value from 100.000 even when the budget in conrolling is 50.000.  How we can set it up that this is no longer possible.

    Hi,
You have to Define Tolerance limits for your  budget profile and activate the availability control in KO30. Please see the below path for define tolerance.
    Controlling -
    >Internal Orders--->Budgeting and Availability Control-->Define Tolerance Limits for Availability Control.

  • Checking against Select-Options with "CP" using "IF value IN select_option"

    Dear experts,
first of all: I'm sorry, if this question already should have been asked and answered!
I tried quite a lot of search terms but didn't find anything helpful.
We are using a statement like "IF value IN select_option" to perform comparisons after the Select-Options have been used in a SELECT statement. This logical expression fails (compared to the results of the DB-SELECT) whenever a select-option line contains the option CP (Contains Pattern). To be more specific: The case sensitivity of the LOW value doesn't seem to play a role any more. A variable with the value 'ABCD' would be positively checked against a select-option with OPTION 'CP' and LOW 'abc*', whereas this value wouldn't have been selected if the select-option had been used in a DB-SELECT.
    Does anybody know a workaround?
    Thanks in advance
    Andreas

    Dear Keshav,
it's an own field in an own table, defined as CHAR of length 140 (lowercase allowed), reflecting to a line of remittance info of an account statement. A regular Select-Option for this field is provided in a report which works perfectly fine regarding the case sensitivity. For reasons I don't want to point out in detail we need to check a value in this field against the select-option without selecting it from the db again.
Let's assume that a field remittance_info contains the value 'ABCD'.
A line of the select-option table looks like this:
    select_option_table-SIGN = 'I'
    select_option_table-OPTION = 'CP'
    select_option_table-LOW = 'abc*'.
Then an ABAP statement such as
    IF remittance_info IN select_option_table.
    * would be true !!!
    ENDIF.
but wouldn't deliver a result in a SELECT such as
    SELECT * FROM my_table INTO TABLE my_internal_table WHERE remittance_info IN select_option_table.
because of the differences in lower/upper case.
    regards
    Andreas

  • Check the G/L account  in overall limit of  Purchase order - ME22

    Hi
I should check the G/L account  in overall limit of  Purchase order ( modify - transaction ME22 )
Someone knows an exit or badi in witch i may check this ?
There is an enhancement that i can work on this information?
    Thank you

To order a Shopping cart the GL account is not mandatory. It is assumed that the SC is being created by the employee and it mainly concentrates only the SC item data and the employee need not have the knowlede of the GL account.
You can make it  mandatory by implementing the doc_check_badi.
Ideally the SC can be orederd without the GL account data which would create a held PO. Purchaser will need to enter this data
    to complete the PO

  • Can cash advance check against internal order budget?

I thought only cost elements can check against budget or statistical asset elements. But for AP balance sheet (cash advance via special GL), is that even possible?
    Please advise.
    Thanks in advance.

No Padmaja, Down payments made can be checked against budget using PS module
you specify a cost element in IMG to be used in the case of down payments and this is used to update PS module
