Business area in ME21N transaction

Dear Experts,
My client is using 3 different plantsA,B and C with different business area A,B and C, Asset master is creating with business area wise , but while creating PO ME21N suppose i'm creating in plant A  i'm enetring asset no which is belongs to plant B (Business area is B)system is allowing me to enter diffemrent plant business area asset. So my requairement is system shouldn't allow different business area asset in my plant while creating PO , How to do this is there any user exit or any other procedure.

Link plant and division to your business area and save (OMJ7).
Check  OB28  - Business Place/ Section are Mandatory 
Try Validation for accounting documents & create the validation of line item.
Seek help of your FICO consultant for to create the validation

    Since the tick is appearing in this field, either the field status group (at posting level or GL level) should have been made mandatory.  Can you please check the relevant FSG for the reconciliation account involved for that vendor.
    Also since you want this field as optional only for testing purpose, i have a alternative suggestion.
    Say, If your substitution is suppose to replace this field with business area A, then enter business area B there and check whether the substituition is replacing this with A again.

  • Business area wise Transactions

    Dear all,
    My client has 3 business areas ;  and the transaction are happening between the inter business transactions.
    for Ex. business area 1  paid salary of a person for a person working in business area 2.
    In this case in
    Business Area 1.  IF I see the Business Area 1 Balance Sheet I must get display  receivable  from Business area 2.
    Business Area 2. It must show outstanding amount to Business area 1 .
    Like this the list of the transaction happned between Business areas  individually
    Hope you understand the requirement.
    I am useing Version 6.0.

    One approach is:
    Create other company codes as vendors and customers.
    Prepare different intercompany reconciliation accounts. Assign them to the customers and vendors (nothing but your other company codes)
    Also make sure you have completed OBYA settings. (cross company code transactions)

    The standard SU24 settings for PCP0 allow restricting the authorizations based on funds management areas using object
    F_FICB_FKR Cash Budget Management/Funds Management FM Area
    But there is not authorization check for business area in this transaction. You can alter the ABAP code for an authority check for business area using some user exit and a custom authorization object.

  • Problem while changing Business Area in Cost Center Master Data

    I am having a problem while changing the Business area in cost center master data, the system does not allow to change the business area due to the following reasons;
    1.  The transactional data already exists for that cost center
    2.  The desired date required to be changed, falls between analysis period 01.01.2000 to 31.12.2999
    Can anyone help me in order to reslove this issue

    Thanks a lot for resolving my problem actaully i have tested the scenario in Testing Server by changing the fiscal year and the system allowed to change the business area before any transactional data posted.

  • Use of Consolidated Business Area in SAP

    Hi,
    We like to use Consolidated Business Area for Financial Transaction in SAP.
    We have defined Consolidated Business Area and Assigned required Business Area into the Consolidated Business Area.
    Now the problem is how to use this consolidated Business Area in the Report?  Basic purpose of this is to filter transactions on Consolidated Business Area in the Report.
    Can anybody help me in this regard?

    u are corrct about the KS 134 and  RKACOR06 pogramm. i am not talking about this situation .
    hear the author posted the docu ment thread wher till now ther company is not using business areas . now they created new business area (eventhough till now they are not created thats why TGSB error is coming). for that only i said we can creat new anlysis period  with assiging of business area in cost cenetr master screen .only for new analysis period only
    not for existing transaction data posted period.
    i think my communication may confused u . sorry for that.

  • ERS and business area

    All,
    If I have 3 GRs that I want to settle using MRRL.   I settle with a document selection option of 4 (document selection per delivery document/service entry).   This will result in 3 separate invoices.   The first invoice that is created the FI document has the business area.  The other 2 invoices have a blank business area.   (The business area in the FI document first line item).
    How do I get those other 2 invoices to have business area populated?

    When you create invoices in the invoice verification, the business area                  
    is not always copied from the offsetting entries in the vendor item.                     
    According to the note                                                                    
        39409 Business area in the vendor item                                                                               
    The business area is taken from the material (of your purchase order)                    
    or from the coding block (if you have a purchase order with account                      
    assignment).                                                                               
    The system fills the business area in the vendor item if a business                      
    area can explicitly be determined from the offsetting entries.                           
    If several business areas were used for the offsetting entries, the                      
    field in the vendor item is not filled.                                                                               
    Also please refer to the attached note 186013 for more detail :                                                                               
    To determine the field 'Business area' automatically in the creditor                     
    line, you select the field 'Business area FS' in Transaction OB65                        
    (financial accounting).                                                                               
    It is possible to change the account assignment data and therefore                       
    the business area for the invoice items.                                                 
    And this might then enable the system to derive the business area                        
    for the vendor item.

  • Field Business Area in cost center cannot be changed

    Hello all,
    we would like to change the "Business Area FS" (OB65) field for our
    company code to required. But if we do that, we have issues with 2 of
    our cost centers (ks02, analysis period 01/01/10-12/31/10) that won't
    allow us to enter a business area.
    We get the following error message:
    NA KS134 Field change Business Area is not possible.
    Diagnosis: To ensure of existing data, you can only change object
    Business Area if no transaction data exists in the change period; that
    is, neither plan data nor actual data has been posted.
    I have checked with our accounting and the cost center report does not
    have any data in actual nor budget.
    Somehow I figured out that we do have an entry in table CEKO for this
    cost center for 2010. (se16n). I did some further research and tried to
    test report RKPLNC18 to delete this entry. But I get the message:
    the deletion could not be carried out. The following plan/actual
    records are available...
    Any suggestions?

    Hi
    You can change the business area in cost center by changing the Analysis period. If there's any data exsist it is not allow you to change the business area. If else block or eleate the cost center and create a new one ( even though this might not permitted if  data exsist in related to cost center.

  • Change cost center business area in one year

    HI,
    Our user create a cost center and wrongly key in a business area value. The cost center valid from Jan 13 2010 to Dec 31 9999.
    And already some transaction data post to this cost center.
    Now i want to delete the business area in the cost center master data, SAP will give error message.
    Do you know any way to delete the business area for the cost center?
    Or if i debug to change the business area (i do it successfully in quality system), whether it will have some other problem?

    Hi David,
    You are right. It looks like you can only change business area on a cost center master for the period starting from next fiscal year.
    You can just create a new cost center with correct business area and use transaction KB61 to transfer the postings from the old cost center to the new one. If you have NewGL turned on for business area reporting, GL-CO reconsiliation is automatic. Otherwise, you will need to run KALC after executing KB61 or at the end of month. Of course, after all is done, you would block the old cost center from any transaction and delete the cost center for the period starting from next fiscal year.

    So far we have not configured Business Area and using company code only.
    However owing to business requirements we are planning to configure 4
    (four) business areas.
    This project we are rolling out from 01-Apr-2009 (Starting of new
    fiscal year).
    In this contxt request you to highlight the other areas that will get
    affected and precautions to be taken.
    Also after configuration of new business areas, "trail balance sheet"
    has to be tallied.

    Configuration of business areas won't create any problems to trial balances, but you can create statements for different business area level,
    Business areas are not assigned to company code, so all company codes under your company can any of the business area's.
    Make sure that filed status groups are maintained properly to use business area's for transaction posting.

    Updation of Business area to old transactions is not possible.
    If still the user wants you can do post an entry like this.
    Ex:
    Admin.,Exp a/c  Dr  with Business area          1000
    Admin Exp a/c  Cr    without Business area     1000
    After posting of a transaction like this, they will get business areawise results, but it doesn't change the already posted documents.

  • ME21N and Business Area

    We use ME21N to create Purchase Orders for Contracts (entered via VA41). The Item detail line uses Account assignement C for Sales Order and then when we enter the Account Assignment details i.e. GL acct no, business area etc, users enter the Business Area as '8008'. However, on pressing Enter this is changed to '1001' and it seems to be impossible to change this.
    I have checked various places to see what kicks this change off e.g. looking at Business area setups via SPRO/IMG and I have even tried to chase it through to that point via debug but still cannot understand what settings are used to do this change and therefore what is needed to change it to what we need.
    Can anyone please advise what needs to be changed and which transactions are needed to perform these tasks.

    Can you please check the setup for G/L account for PO in the given path:
    Display IMG -> MM -> Purchasing -> Purchase order
        -> Setup authorization check for G/L accounts
    Check the PO/Scheduling agreement check box is flagged Or Not for your Company code.
    If G/L account authorization check is active for your company code (in the case of items with account assignment) then
    the 
    system checks whether the user has the authorization for the G/L account entered or not.
                                                                                    Suggestion: For setting up authorization check for G/L accounts for your company code (i.e, in the case of purchase orders and scheduling agreements with account assignment) you
    should determine whether or not the authorization check is to be active for each company code.                            
    And
    if the check is active, each time a G/L account is entered in a PO or a scheduling agreement, the system checks whether the user has the posting authorization for the specified account.                                 
    Because in your case the issue is at the time of creation of PO (ME21N with account assignment)
    Please verify it and let me know,
