Call Forwarding, LED settings, e-mail invites, profiles, e-mail settings (who wins on conflict)

Hi, it is unbelievable how many things you guys from RIM got wrong in the past few years. no wonder you are going down. I am a BB long time fan and recently switched from the best BB ever (9900) with the worst battery life to the Q10. You have massive issues with this one:
- Can not forward to contact from phone book?! Are you kidding me? A feature, available from the dawn of mobile phones.
- can't change the LED red blink duration. The default is too short. I have to watch my phone all the time over the weekend. Why??? Fix it!!!
- One of the accounts I use is Yahoo. The stupid Q10 can not send invites via Yahoo account!!! Why? Fix it! The 9900 could.
- e-mail account settings - that's the big one. You got me really **bleep** here. Vodafone, UK disabled my SIM for few hours as I was testing something. The stupid Q10 erased 30 days of e-mails from my both accounts just like that. Why???? How could you do this to people? I guess you can't recover anything. Where is the setting that determines who wins b/n the device and the mailbox???? How can you launch a device without this setting.
- The way notification profiles are managed on the Q10 is like from the dawn of Symbian. Really basic and stupid. Why can't I manage the profiles like on 9900 or the older ones even?
- I will not even touch the way this Q10 copies text with the touch screen. I will start using bad language and it is not nice.
- One last thing: If you make BBM users from nonBlackberry OS to pay extra for this app, you will sign off the death sentence of your poor company. I warned you
Lett me know if I can recover any of my mails. You must have a copy in Slough, UK.
Regards,

It takes a while for a new OS to mature, just take a look at the first iPhone (no cut & paste among other missing features), the first android (no attachment in messages among other missing features) and perhaps you can look at it from a different perspective.
Version 10.2 fixes a few of the problems you have mentiodn and there are apps on the market for some of the others.
I myself think that BB10 is quite an achievement and if allowed to mature will be seen as the OS to copy not derise.
If you've been helped click on , if you've been saved buy the app.

  • Is it possible to separate call forward unregistered & busy on a device profile?

I've got the following situation cropping up a surprising amount at our site:
User has 2 jobs within our institution. Works 3 days a week on job 1, 2 days on job 2. Each job is billed to a different cost centre, and the user doesn't want to be getting calls for job 1 when they're supposed to be working on job 2, and vice versa.
As such, we've created them 2 device profiles. When they log into the phone at the desk of whichever job they're currently working, they get prompted for which profile they want to log in to. The other device profile (if still logged in to the phone on the desk of the other job) is then forcibly logged out.
When profile 1, for job 1, is logged in, but the user is already on a call, they want incoming calls to that extension to be directed to their voicemail (i.e. set Call Forward Busy [Internal|External] to send to voicemail). They can then check voicemail and follow up on the call as soon as they're off the current one.
When profile 1/job 1 is logged *out*, i.e. they're currently working job 2, they want incoming calls to job 1's extension to be immediately diverted to a colleage within the same job 1 team.
I thought I could do this by utilising Call Forward Unregistered [Internal|External], but this does not seem to be the case. When a device profile is not logged in to a device it seems like the busy trigger just gets treated as 0 so the value of Call Forward Busy is followed. I can't see any situation where Call Forward Unregistered is ever utilised if an extension is only associated with a device profile.
Is there any way to do what I want (without massively convoluted configuration on Call Manager)? If not, do people think this is worth raising as a feature request (or bug in expected behaviour) for later versions of Call Manager?
We're currently on CUCM 8.5, FYI, in case this is something that's already been updated in version 9 or later.

Some progress on second idea. Saved a copy of universal access plist with cursor set to large then set the cursor to small again. Replacing the plist file had no effect until I went into the UA pane and changed a setting at which point it must rewrite the file and refresh because the cursor size also changed at this point.
Tried the same again and restarted Finder, no effect. Also tried altering another pref pane instead with no effect. Need a way to force the computer to look at the plist files, no idea how though. :-)

  • Unity 4.0 - Call Forwarding and Voice Mail

    Here is the situation:
We have a DN (5301) that is not associated with a Unity mailbox but is on a 7970 phone. This extension is an "on call" number that is always forwarded to a technicans phone (local 4 digit ext or cell phone).
When a person calls 5301 I want the voicemail of the final destination to answer.
For instance if I had 5301 forwarded to 2000 - I would want 2000's voicemail to answer.
Is there a way to set this up?
    Thanks in advance.
    Jeff

    Hi Jeff,
    Sadly this cannot be changed until Unity 5.x (the ability to choose "Last Redirecting Number" in not available in any other Unity version);
    Here are the Unity 5.0 release notes;
Route Forwarded Calls by the First or Last Redirecting Number
Cisco Unity supports the option of routing calls based on either the first or last redirecting number when a call is forwarded to Cisco Unity.
    Note the following:
This option requires Cisco Unity-CM TSP 8.1(2) or later.
This option is not supported by integrations through PIMG units.
This option can be changed through the Advanced Settings Tool (AST), which is available in Tools Depot.
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/unity/5x/release/notes/501curelnotes.html#wp507371
Call Information Exchanged by the Phone System and Cisco Unity
The phone system and Cisco Unity exchange call information to manage calls and to make the integration features possible. With each call, the following call information is typically passed between the phone system and Cisco Unity:
•The extension of the called party.
•The extension of the calling party (for internal calls) or the phone number of the calling party (if it is an external call and the phone system supports caller ID).
•The reason for the forward (the extension is busy, does not answer, or is set to forward all calls). There is also a reason code for Direct Calls.
Cisco Unified Communications Manager SCCP and SIP trunk integrations can also provide the following call information (the choice of first and last redirecting number is set in the Advanced Settings Tool, which is available in Tools Depot):
    •Called number
    •First redirecting number
    •Last redirecting number
Note Cisco Unity can use either the first redirecting number or last redirecting number, depending on the setting in the Advanced Settings Tool, which is available in Tools Depot.
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/unity/5x/design/guide/5xcudg060.html#wp1040786
If this was just a one-up type of setup you can configure a Voicemail profile (in CCM) for 2000 and apply it to 5301 that will allow this type of Call Forward to 2000's mailbox. The fact that you need this for Multiple Tech's will not work. Is there any way the Techs could use a Shared Line? Then these solutions could be adapoted.
Or in Unity set up Alternate Extensions so that User A is an Alternate Extension for User B etc. Sharing a Cisco Unity Voice Mail Box between Two or More IP Phones
    Configure Alternate Extensions
Open the Unity System Administrator web page.
Navigate to the subscriber's profile. Select Subscribers > Find and Select a Subscriber > Enter Subscriber Information then click Find and click the Subscriber's name for the subscriber that owns the primary phone (2000).
When the subscriber page comes up, select the Alternate Extensions option and click Add.
Enter the alternate extension number (in this case 5301) and click the Save icon.
    From this good Unity doc;

  • After installing 6.0.1 on my iPhone 4 I no longer get notification when another call comes in when I'm on another call. In phone settings I no longer have the icons for call waiting and call forwarding. My carrier is sprint

I no longer get notifications that another call is coming in when I'm on the phone. In the settings under phone I do not see any availabilty for call waiting or call forwarding. I had this feature before installing the new update 6.0.1.

Since it has always been very basic to backup your computer and all it's data, Apple provides no way for you to transfer music from your iPhone back to your computer.  As you know, you can re-download all iTunes purchases, but music that you ripped yourself you'll have to just re-rip again.
You can try and find 3rd party applications that might help you.  I'm sure you'll pay, however.
Let this be a very important lesson learned.
    Best.

  • What's the meaning of Forward No Coverage at Call Forward and Call Pickup Settings

    hi All,
Please, I have a CUCM and I need to understand the meaning of the follow configuratio at the line:
    Forward No Coverage Internal
    Forward No Coverage External
    Forward on CTI Failure
Could you explain to me by a easy way?????
How can I do a test?
    Thanks a lot

Actually the no coverage is not only for DNs in line groups. The way no coverage works is that you set a CF setting on any phone (doesn't need to be in a line group), and you send them to a hunt pilot. ie CFB to a hunt pilot
In the hunt pilot for the Forward Hunt No Answer/Forward Hunt Busy you choose:
Use Personal Preferences—Use this check box to enable the Call Forward No Coverage (CFNC) settings for the original called number that forwarded the call to this hunt pilot.
So, after it rings your phone, rings thru all the hunt pilot/hunt list/line group members, it goes back to the phone that routed the call to that hunt pilot, looks at the no coverage setting and does as instructed. Send it to VM, another hunt pilot, your mobile, etc.

my phone keeps freezing on settings, I cannot make or receive a call but everything else is working including internet and mail. where it should be showing the reception bars it is only showing a broken line. How do I resolve this?

If you are not showing reception bars, then I don't know how the data is working? Have you tried doing a reset? Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. After the phone restarts, check to see if it works. If that doesn't help, then try removing the SIM card, then reinserting it. If that doesn't help, then contact your carrier for assistance in calling.

  • I couldnt find call forwarding options in the settings, can somebody help me to rectify it

i couldnt find call forwarding options in the settings, can somebody help me to rectify it

Call forwarding is a carrier feature. Contact your carrier to see if such is available, & if so have such provisioned on your account.
Note: If a CDMA iPhone, you won't have a setting for call forwarding, even if provisioned on your account.

  • Nokia 5800 Call Forwarding settings

Just wondering if there is any way to customise the call forwarding settings on my Nokia 5800.  I would like to set the forward to voicemail if not answered setting, but the longest I can get the phone to ring before forwarding is 30 seconds.  This is often not long enough for me to answer the phone, for example if I can't find it, it's in a bag or I've left it upstairs. I had the same problem on my old 6300.
How can I set this to forward to voicemail after say a minute?  If this is not possible, where can I submit a feature request?

this is a network setting not a phone setting
If  i have helped at all a click on the white star below would be nice thanks.

  • Call Forwarding Breaks with iOS 8.3 Update on iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus with AT&T

Ever since the iOS 8.3 Update, call forwarding is no longer working on my iPhone 6 Plus.  I have spent dozens of hours troubleshooting with both AT&T Advanced Business Technical Support as well as many hours with top technicians from Apple at my local Genius Bars.
This is a critical bug for me as I used to use the call forwarding option multiple times a day, EVERY DAY, because when I am in certain business locations my mobile phone gets no reception and calls go right to voice mail.  I need to have them forwarded to the land line I'm located at.
    APPLE, PLEASE HELP!!!
I've done extensive testing, and this seems definitely to be related to Apple iOS 8.3, and it seems to be specific to the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus ONLY.
    To illustrate the EXACT problem:
    A: Settings -> Phone -> Call Forwarding
    B. Call Forwarding - Turn on
    C. Enter Number and return to previous screen by touching the blue "Call Forwarding" to return to previous screen.
    D. Call forwarding button is "green" for a split second, then returns to previous OFF state and no forwarding number is displayed.  DOES NOT WORK.
NOT AN AT&T PROBLEM.  IF SOMEONE IS EXPERIENCING THIS WITH OTHER CARRIERS PLEASE COMMENT HERE.
Further validation this is isolated to iOS 8.3 on the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus ONLY and not the sim card from AT&T...
Here are the latest steps I did with my AT&T sim card and my wife AT&T sim card (she has an iPhone 5s):
    1. Removed my sim and put it in the 5s. The phone said that a "carrier update" was required and I selected "NO" to that prompt.  Call forwarding functionality worked as expected on the 5s running iOS 8.3
    2. I removed the sim from the 5s and re-inserted it.  This time I selected "YES" to do the carrier update to eliminate that as a variable, and the call forwarding functionality still worked as expected.
    3. I then placed my wifes sim in my 6 Plus. Call forwarding functionality does NOT work on the 6 Plus (was not prompted for carrier update). Also, keep in mind this is my second phone (Apple provided me with a new iPhone 6 Plus when they couldn't resolve the problem at the Genius Bar after hours of troubleshooting).
Note: I did one additional test which as interesting:  I put my sim in the 5s and turned call forwarding "on".  Then, I put the sim back into my 6 Plus.  The calls were still being forwarded to the number I put in while it was in the 5s, but the call forwarding interface in the 6 Plus showed that it was NOT forwarding calls.  I could not turn OFF the call forwarding from the 6 Plus and had to put the sim back into the 5s in order to turn off the call forwarding.
If anyone has an update on this, or any other suggestions please advise!  This is a critical issue for me as when I travel and when I am in poor areas of reception I need to forward calls.  This is a featured I was using multiple times a day, EVERY DAY.
    APPLE?????????  HELP!!!!!!

Yes, I am dealing with this right now on at&t with a 6 plus. I've been down the same road as you. I got it to work with a windows phone yesterday but not my 6 plus when I switched back to the iPhone. My wifes 6 works fine. I believe it is an at&t issue and not an 8.3 issue. After dealing through several levels of support at at&t, they are telling me it has to do with their transition to hd voice. Some people are having this issue because they are updating their system and some peoples phone profile, on phones that have hd voice capabilities, are not getting added to their line and call forwarding will not work without it. I have a trouble ticket open to their engineering dept and they promise it will work for me on or before the 24th of april. Engineering has to build my phones profile so call forwarding will work with my iPhone.
This is frustrating because like you, I need to forward my calls because I have no signal in my office and need to forward to another phone so I can get my calls. If at&t would quit dragging their feet and enable wifi calling, this wouldn't be an issue for me. I would suggest you put more pressure on at&t and escalate this until it gets resolved. Or put your sim in a phone that does not have hd voice capability and see if it works then.
Good luck. I'm keeping my fingers crossed this will be fixed for me on or before the 24th. We'll see.
EDIT: I see you did put it in another phone and it worked. That backs up that the issue is at&t and their hd voice upgrades. They had no explanation as to why some work and some don't, but have them make sure a profile for your phone is on the line. If not, they'll need to build one for the phone so that it''l work. At least that's the story for now. Like I said, I'll know more in a day or two.

  • CUPC 8.6 call forward to voicemail

    Hi!
I am using Cisco Personal Communicator (CUPC) 8.6 and also CUCM 8.6. I have CUPC in Deskphone mode, connected to a 6945 IP Phone. I also have Unity Connection where my voicemail box is hosted. When I want to setup call forward to voicemail button in cupc option, it is not working. CUPC will not handle the options I setup seconds before. If I manually put in a call forward to extension number of voice mail pilot call forwarding is working. also call forwarding to my mobile is working.
I checked End User settings, IP Phone is associated to my user, also CTI controll is enabled on device and line settings. user privileges are correct. I tried it on jabber client where it works fine. I also restarted CTI and Callmanager Services on the Servers.
Does anyone has an Idea if this is a general bug in CUPC or does anyone can tell me what the problem might be?
    Thanks!
    René

    Hi,
If at least one of these phones is set to CF to VM then it will, if not, then no.
If none of your phones is set to CF to VM CUCM will not send them to VM, that is expected, if you need to ring, phone A, and if it is not answered to go to phone B, C... and so on, and send the caller to VM after you have reached all of these then use a hunt group, (the pilot can be set to CF to VM if nobody answers), if you need to ring all phones at the same time so someone can pick this up, use a hunt group with a broadcast logic.
If this is for a single user, check 'single number reach' (SNR) or mobility on CUCM.
Bottom line, there is no way to send a caller to VM if none of the phones is set to CF to VM.

  • Call forward to unity connection call handler

    have  the following setup:
    cucm 8.6
    cuc 8.6
a cti route point (DN 1000 )with forward all to unity connection call handler.
phone users who choose to have some quiet time can forward all their calls to the cti rp.
    1. i need to allow only specfic DNs the ability to forward to the cti rp.
    2. at times that  the allowed DNs didnt choose to forward to cti rp then normal behaviour should occur - busy or unanswerd calls should go to DNs personal voice mail.
    thanks

You can assign a specific partition to cti-rp and assign it to a CSS and this CSS should be assigned to those users (at call forward settings in line) only to whom you are trying to give this facility and for other users you can
or you can create a TP for it with specific partition and set the called number as per voice mail.

  • Support Line - Call Forward All through Hunt Pilot to cell phone

I know I may be beating a dead horse, but I've found so much help in these forums that I figured I'd give it a shot.
We have a Cisco Unified Communications Manager Business Edition and we are running into a configuration issue. What we would like to do is to create an emergency support line for our IT staff. The way we would like this to function is that a caller dials a number, CM accepts the call and dials out to our IT staff's cell phone numbers in a round-robin fashion. To avoid the caller getting dumped into the IT staff's voice mail on their cells, we would like the staff member to have to dial a number to accept the call. If there is no answer, the call rolls to the next cell number. If no one is available, the caller should be directed to Unity Connection to leave a message. Unity then will send out text and email messages to the support staff.
I know that we can use Unity to perform an assisted transfer, which will require the user to press "1" to accept the call, and we are able to get Unity to send out the notifications (text and email) when a voice message is left. The issue is with Call Manager making the outbound calls to the cell phones.
What we have attempted is to setup DNs that call forward all to the users cell numbers. These DNs have been added to a Line Group, which has a Hunt Pilot attached to it. Any time this pilot is called, we get a reorder. Using the DNA, we see that "no device is associated with the DN", which is under the DN for the first users cell forward. If we add that DN as a second line to that users IP Phone (7940), then the call into the Hunt Pilot rings that line on the IP phone, not the CFA to the cell phone.
After weeks of digging around, it seems as though CFA in a Hunt is just not possible. My boss wants official word from Cisco about this, but TAC doesn't seem to want to help due to service contract issues (which blows my mind, as we have opened several cases in the past two months for configuration related issues). Our Business Edition came with Contact Center Xpress, although we do not have the resources available to install it. If CCX will carry out this task, that might be enough to push management into getting another server to support this, but without being able to play around with it, I don't know.
If anyone has any suggestions on how to make this work, I would GREATLY appreciate the help!
    Thanks in advance,
    -Geoff

    Hi Geoff,
    Always interesting isn't it :)
    Call Forward settings on individual Hunt member phones are ignored when presented a call via the Hunt feature. Here is a clip;
The concept of hunting differs from that of call forwarding. Hunting allows Cisco CallManager to extend a call to one or more lists of numbers, where each such list can specify a hunting order that is chosen from a fixed set of algorithms. When a call extends to a hunt party from these lists and the party fails to answer or is busy, hunting resumes with the next hunt party. (The next hunt party varies depending on the current hunt algorithm.) Hunting thus ignores the Call Forward No Answer (CFNA) or Call Forward Busy (CFB) settings for the attempted party. This also applies to CFWD ALL settings.
    From this doc;
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/voicesw/ps556/products_administration_guide_chapter09186a00803edabe.html#wp107892
    So, any Forwarding settings have to be done on the Hunt Pilot itself. These Destination settings (on the Hunt Pilot) need to be configured to go to the Unity Voicemail Pilot # or perhaps this is where you Forward out to the Cell #;
    Hunt Forward Settings
Forward Hunt No Answer - When the call that is distributed through the hunt list is not answered in a specific time, this field specifies how to forward the call.
Destination This setting indicates the directory number to which calls are forwarded. (This can be the Directory Number of the Unity VM Pilot)
Forward Hunt Busy - When the call that is distributed through the hunt list is busy in a specific time, this field specifies how to forward the call.
Destination This setting indicates the directory number to which calls are forwarded. (This can be the Directory Number of the Unity VM Pilot)
Maximum Hunt Timer - Enter a value (in seconds) that specifies the maximum time for hunting.(Used in conjunction with Forward Hunt Busy)
    Maybe you could leverage these Unity Connection configs to achieve your desired results. These will ensure that the Message is not left unattended;
    Cascading Message Notification
Cascading message notification allows you to send notifications to a widening circle of recipients. Cisco Unity Connection continues to send notifications according to the devices you selected until the message has been saved or deleted by a recipient.
For example, to create a cascade of message notifications for your Technical Support department,
    Chaining Message Notification
Message notification can be set to "chain" to a series of notification devices if an attempt to send notification to the first selected device fails. The definition of failure to a notification device is based on the options you select for retrying a device that is not answered or is busy.

  • C7, can't get rid of "call forwarding enabled" mes...

It appears always and is terribly annoying, because it prevents from stopping a call if for example a wrong number has been dialed.
It tells me some like "Attention. Call forwarding enabled.".
It is probably because of operators voice mail service redirection. What I wanted is to
just turn that message off but surprisingly I haven't found such option in settings.
Have I missed it or isn't it unpossible at all?
    Thanks

I get this too. I'm on the o2 network in the UK, On my C7 every time I finished a call, a similar type of message would pop up to tell my my remaining credit. Very annoying and there's no option to disable it from within the phone. But I'd heard that this is a phone network service message which can be disabled by requesting it through customer services, which I tried and it worked. I've heard that this 'call forwarding' message is also a phone network service message, which can be disabled too, which I havent yet done, but it might be worth asking your network if they can disable it for you.

  • ICal Server won't send invites to e-mail addresses

Set up a new 10.7.2 Server, enabled OD, added 6 users. Set up iCal Server, everything works fine between OD users. Problem is when you try to share a calendar with an e-mail address for someone outside the company, iCal comes back with "The server returned an error" and "Mail gateway didn't find a token in message" shows up in the iCal Server log.
We created a new dedicated e-mail account on their mail server (hosted by their ISP, not by the server I just installed) and put all the info into the iCal settings in the Server app. As far as I can tell that part is working. I also tried creating a Gmail account, but I get the same errors.
Google hasn't been much help. Only reference to the token error was from someone else's calendar server application, and wanted me to edit caldavd.plist (I checked the settings there just in case, and it all is correct.)
The server is hostings DNS for itself, but all other DNS info is being provided by their Airport Extreme.
    -Z

Today I reloaded the server in question. Downloaded 10.7.3 via the Recovery Partition, restored the OD archive, and tried to set up iCal. I have exactly the same problem.
I set up a calendar on a Lion client, and try to set it to share with someone who has an OD account. The sharing dialog closes, but no invite is ever sent. If I try to share with someone who is not in OD, I get error messages in the server log.
An entire afternoon of Googling shows a lot of people are having the same problem. Best I can tell, it seems to happen if your e-mail server is hosted elsewhere, as if iCal Server assumes that the mail server is on the same Mac. This is not the case with this setup. Their web page and domain are hosted outside as well, but we have a DNS entry made so server.domain.com forwards to the Mac Mini server inside their office. We've tested this for VPN, Remote Desktop, and FileMaker access, and all work fine.
I've tried two types of configurations, neither of which is working.
    1. Created an [email protected] account with their mail host. I used that outside mail server information for IMAP / SMTP settings, but every time I try to share a calendar the iCal error log shows IMAP login errors. Their mail server does not use SMTP authentication. They have the option to use SSL or not, but neither work.
    2. Used [email protected], and used the default localhost server info. I then tried to set up the server's built in Mail server to forward mail to their outside mail host. This started giving me
[mailgateway] 2012-04-05 19:51:05-0400 [IMAP4DownloadProtocol,client] Unhandled unsolicited response: ['OK', ['HIGHESTMODSEQ', '1'], 'Highest']
I now get that error no matter what I do, meaning something broke again.
I've gone through several Google pages referring to greylisting, the postfix, etc, but since the server is not running a Mail server, none of these apply.
I have no idea what I am doing wrong. Lion has been out a year, surely in that time this has been worked out. So why can't I find a solution? Everywhere I look it's either a thread starting out with the same problem I am having, followed by a dozen or so "me too" posts, or it's someone saying they managed to make it work, but their fix doesn't work for me. I'm really frustrated right now, and so is my customer.
Oh, almost forgot... now we have a new problem. FileMaker Admin requires access to port 16000, but for whatever reason the server is blocking that port. It's not running a firewall. Good to know that reloading causes more problems than it solves.
