Can I rate-limit on the sub-interface in cisco asr 1013?
Hi,
I am looking for the command of rate-limit on a sub-interface in cisco asr 1013.
Cisco IOS Software, IOS-XE Software (X86_64_LINUX_IOSD-ADVENTERPRISEK9-M), Version 15.2(2)S, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)
IOS XE Version: 03.06.00.S
Please let me know if it is possible in cisco asr 1013. If yes then what are the commands.
Zobair
The ASR no longer supports the rate-limit command, but it does support the same functionality in a QoS policy.
Please find a sample configuration -
ASR1004(config)#policy-map test
ASR1004(config-pmap)#class class-default
ASR1004(config-pmap-c)#shape average 10000
Applying for both ingress and egress : -
ASR1004(config)#int gig1/1/0
ASR1004(config-if)#service-policy output test
or
ASR1004(config-if)#service-policy input test

Do the sub-interface of ASA firewall has limit of bandwidth
do the sub-interface of ASA firewall has limit of bandwidth? or how does the bandwidth of the physical interface divided among the sub-interface? is there a cisco documentation url link that explains this?
Nakayama-san,
The configuration recommendation to limit the traffic entering the router was intended for legacy (i.e. non-ISR routers). Since you are using a 2811, I would recommend that you test WAAS without these limitations configured.
Thanks,

Can we specify limit on the number of records to be fetched?
Can we specify limit on the number of records to be fetched from the database?
I have millions of records in my DB and I want to fetch say some 50,000 latest records to optimize the performance of reports.
Is it possible in any version of Crystal Reports?
Regards,
AmritaHi Amrita
Do you have any groups in your report. If yes then this is what you need to do:
1) Insert a section below on the Details section so that there is a Details A and Details B.
2) Create the following formulas:
@Formula1
WhilePrintingRecords;
NumberVar Number := 0;
@Formula2
WhilePrintingRecords;
NumberVar Number;
Number := Number + 1;
3) Place @Formula1 in the Group Header. Format the formula to Suppress.
4) Place @Formula2 in Details A. Format the SECTION (not the formula) to Suppress.
5) Format the Details B section to conditionally Suppress by selecting the X+2 button INSTEAD of the selecting the Suppress box. This launches the conditional formatting Formula Editor.
6) Enter this formula:
{@formula2} > 3
When you preview the report you will only see 3 records per group.
Let us know if you need any further help with this.

Include multiple sub-interfaces in Cisco ASA for VPN tunnel
I am trying to create a VPN tunnel between two Cisco ASAs where one ASA has multiple sub-interfaces.
Say, In Cisco ASA 5550(in datacentre), I created multiple subinterfaces with VLAN ID as below:
Inside, int0/1 : 10.1.1.0/24
DMZ, int0/1.100: 10.1.100.0/24 (VLAN 100)
Production, int 0/1.101 : 10.1.101.0/24 (VLAN 101)
Management, int 0/1.102: 10.1.102.0/24 (VLAN 102)
And another Cisco ASA 5505 is only configured with 1 x inside interface Inside, int 0/1: 192.168.1.0/24
So far, I have only been able to provide outside access to one of the sub-interfaces as NAT rule on inside interface didn't work for VLANs. Hence had to issue Global NAT rule to be applied on Production subinterface so that production VLAN can have outside access. I have managed to establish VPN tunnel between two ASAs on Production sub-interface only, Source interface = Production subinterface
Additional settings:
Have ACL to allow all sub interfaces to access outsite ( lower security level)
NAT rules is configured on Production subinterface with Source NAT Type as Dynamic PAT; when this was configured with source interface as inside, PCs behind various VLAN coun't access internet.
I want to establish a site-to-site VPN tunnel with multiple sub-interfaces of Cisco ASA 5550 to Cisco ASA 5505. Would you please suggest what I am missing in my configuration? Rate Limit on the MPLS Tag interface
In MPLS Networks, we generally enable tag-switching IP and MTU (1526) configuration on the specific interface . Say if the above commands are applied in the 2 mb Lease Line Serial interface , How do i rate Limit to 64K ?
Can anyone provide me this info w.r.t the configuration?
Regards
SrikantGeneric rate-limiting should be possible. Here's a URL explaining how to configure this feature.

FAQ: Where can I learn more about the SpeedGrade interface?
The SpeedGrade interface can be confusing if you don't know where to look. See this video tutorial by Patrick Inhofer for a full tour of the SpeedGrade CC interface.
Apple has what they call "online seminars" available on the main Logic page
http://www.apple.com/logicpro/
If you look on the bottom right hand side of the page, you see a link for online seminars. You'll have to go through a regstration process, then you can watch 3 or 4 streaming Quicktime videos of people using different functions in Logic. There's nothing really in depth there, but it does show you a few useful shortcuts and methods. -
I can not receive email through the webmail interface
This started today. I am able to send from my verizon account to my netzero, but do not receive anything when I send from netzero to verizon. There are no error messages. I am using IE 9 (Win 7) and also tried with firefox. Is anyone else having issues in S/E Pennsylvania (Swarthmore)? Thanks, Jose
I also use zoho to manipulate my VZ mail (I leave a copy on the server) and the issue persists there, Zoho support could not find any issues on their end

High receive discards on Sub-Interfaces in Cisco ASA.
Hello Everyone,
Over the past few weeks Solarwinds is reporting high receive discards on two of our subinterfaces created on Cisco ASA. No errors are observed on other subinterfaces. I checked the trunk port interface on the switch for any errors but found none. These errors are visible only under subinterface. What could be the issue?
RegardsI have the same problem too.
I have Cisco ASA 5515 with the next version:
Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance Software Version 9.1(4)
My interface configuration is the next:
PortChannel5 made with Interface GigabitEthernet 0/2 + Interface GigabitEthernet 0/3
Subinterfaces in PortChannel5
Nagios Graphs shows:
- many input discards in virtual subinterfaces
- many output discards in interface Gi0/2 and Gi0/3
- PortChannel5 output discards is the sum of discards in interface Gi0/2 and Gi0/3
if I run the snmpwalk command against the ASA the following results were obtained:

Can anyone explain why so many input errors appear in the subinterfaces?
Thanks in advance! -
We currently have 7,500 broadband subscribers that we will be terminating on our ASR 9001.
Each one of our customers will be terminating on a sub-interface on a bundle.
On the 9k, there will be a QoS policy applied to rate-limit their broadband connection (see example below).
The challenge that we are running into right now is scaling beyond 4096 L3 sub-interfaces. When running through this in our lab, we receive the following fail message:
RP/0/RSP0/CPU0:BNG(config-subif)#show config failed
Tue Mar 10 18:32:07.552 UTC
!! SEMANTIC ERRORS: This configuration was rejected by
!! the system due to semantic errors. The individual
!! errors with each failed configuration command can be
!! found below.
interface Bundle-Ether10.6941171
!!% The L3 sub-interface limit for the trunk interface has been reached: Trunk limit for L3 subinterfaces on Bundle-Ether10 is 4096
We have added the following on to each of the sub-interfaces to "fake" out the NPU, but even with SPD configured, we are receiving the max 4096 message:
service-policy output <POLICY> subscriber-parent resource-id 0
service-policy output <POLICY> subscriber-parent resource-id 1
service-policy output <POLICY> subscriber-parent resource-id 2
service-policy output <POLICY> subscriber-parent resource-id 3
It is my understanding that we have a total of 4 resource ID's to use (0-3) and the ASR 9001 will support up to 32,000 sub-interfaces (system wide or 8,000 sub interfaces per resource-id).
See attached image for reference this design.
Main question to the community is what is the work around to scale beyond 4096 L3 sub-interfaces??
In our case it is not feasible to bring in additional bundles and spread the customers out.
Look forward to your responses.

#3 - CoA QoS profile -> I'm using the following avpair for ingress / egress qos. However when validating against a speed test server, my results are well above the 10Mbps / 10Mbps I have provisioned. Actual is more of in the ~15Mbps/15Mbps range.
Am I missing additional config in the policing section?
cisco-avpair = "ip:qos-policy-in=add-class(sub, (class-default,class-default),police(10000))",
cisco-avpair += "ip:qos-policy-out=add-class(sub, (class-default,class-default),police(10000))"

Must I run it in the jar file deployed to appServer?
it's very inconvenient!

Hi !
I want to know how to get the local interface of a session ejb from a
jsp page ???
My session ejb is in a jar, and my jsp page is in a war. (they're not
together in a ear)You cannot call your EJB by a local interface by this way.
The war and the ejb-jar must be in the same ear.
This is due to classloading architecture.
I can have access to a remote interface of an other session ejb from
a
jsp page doing :
InitialContext ctx = new InitialContext();
Object objref = ctx.lookup("article.ArticleManagerHome");
ArticleManagerHome home = (ArticleManagerHome)
PortableRemoteObject.narrow(objref,
ArticleManagerHome.class);
But I can't have access to the local interface from the same jsp page
doing :
MyManagerLocalHome home = (MyManagerLocalHome)ctx.lookup
("article.MyManagerLocalHome");
I get the following error :
javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: Unable to
resolve 'article.ArticleManagerLocalHome' Resolved: 'article'
Unresolved:'ArticleManagerLocalHome' ; remaining
name 'ArticleManagerLocalHome' This is another problem.
Check the jndi name in the ejb-deployment descriptor or check the jndi on your
server to verify that a local interface implementation has been bound to it.
>
What should I do ???
(I don't want to put them in the same ear)
An EJB reference in the web.xml of my war ??? How ?
A lookup with java/comp/... ??? How ?
I don't understand !!! It's so difficult to do simple things !
Bloody EJBs !!!Noooooo ;)
But I can agree with you on local interfaces ....
The J2EE specs speak about "same virtual machine" ....
But classloading architecture "speaks about" "same classloader" (same ejb-jar)
or "related classloaders" (war and ejb in same ear).
I think something is still missing ....

Hi, I have put 2 physicl interfaces (te0/8 & 9) on the ASA-5585 into a PO and am assigning ips/vlans to the sub-interfaces. I have 2 issues: - Why am I not able to ping the other sub-interface from the ASA itself? (I can ping the 1st one), Secondly, why the IPs are not visible in "sh int ip brief" ?Although I can see them in "sh ip" ..

SGE2000 QoS: Ingress Rate Limit BUG ?
I buyed a new unit of SGE2000. Thirst I changed firmware to newest one (3.0.0.18) so I do not know what firmware was installed before.
The problem is that it is not posssible to change Ingress Rate Limit to value lower than 3500...
Hardware Version
00.00.01
Software Version
3.0.0.18
Boot Version
2.0.0.03
Manual says:
Ingress Rate Limit — Defines the amount of bandwidth assigned to the interface.
For FE ports, the rate is 62 - 100,000 Kbps.
For GE ports, the rate is 62 - 1,000,000 Kbps
====
Default value for Ingress Rate Limit field is 3500, while I change it to eg. 512 the combobox is opening with warning information:
"Entered value in highlighted field must be an Integer. Range 3500...1000000"
"Committed Information Rate (CIR)" field allow to put a value down to 64, so it is ok.
Should I downgrade firmware to v3.0.0.17 ?
Any help appreciated.My appologies for the lack of reply here. I checked with the PM for the product and they asked me if there is a case open with the Small Business Support Center (SBSC) on this issue. Have you had a case open on this yet? If not can I ask you to log a case and then respond back to this postig with the case number please? It seems this is a bug so the product team will need to process the fix for this via the standard problem identification/case reporting process.
Thanks in advance! -
HSRP using sub-interfaces,
I'm planning a design that will need two 2950s to support 4 vlans. Non-local traffic will be routed out via one of two HSRP routers (one pair of vlans using router 1 as a primary, the other pair using router 2).
I've dug around the cisco documentation but can't find an answer to the following...
Does HSRP run ok over sub-interfaces?
For example, VLAN 1 default gateway will be HSRP (virtual) router's f0/0.1 x.x.x.x, VLAN 2 default gateway will be HSRP router's f0/0.2 x.x.x.x, etc.
Any ideas?Hi Dwatson,
YES, HSRP supports on sub-interfaces also & there wouldn't be any problems.YES the default gateway would be the HSRP standby ip address specified on the sub-interface for the vlans.
eg.
Router A
interface FastEthernet0/0.1
description ***ABC***
encapsulation dot1Q 1
ip address 172.16.1.2 255.255.0.0
standby 1 ip 172.16.1.1
standby 1 timers 5 15
standby 1 priority 108
standby 1 preempt
Router B
interface FastEthernet0/0.1
description ***ABC***
encapsulation dot1Q 1
ip address 172.16.1.3 255.255.0.0
standby 1 ip 172.16.1.1
standby 1 timers 5 15
standby 1 priority 109
standby 1 preempt
Note donot give any ip address on the fastethernet interface.
interface fasthethernet 0/0
no ip address
hope this helps.

WLC 5508 and Anchor/GuestNet rate limit traffic?
Running WLCs 5508s 7.0.116.0 with GuestNet and Anchor setup, how can I limit the bandwidth on the GuestNet SSDI to 2 Mbps, etc?
The DMZ WLC (Anchor) runs thru a ASA 5508 7x, can I rate limit traffic via ASA?That's really a matter of preference. This document describes things to keep in mind when altering these QoS profile configurations, FYI.
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/docs/wireless/controller/7.0MR1/configuration/guide/cg_controller_setting.html#wp1254532
It really depends on how many guests, what type of traffic, etc, to make a judgement call as to where you should set these. I'm sorry but I don't have any examples from existing configurations, but hopefully the document explains how to best alter these settings.
