Cancelled E-Mail

I just cancelled my landline because for the past 3 months I've had so much noise on the line that my phone was virtually rendered useless.   They checked the lines and said they found no problem, however they agreed they could not hear me over the noise on my line and called me back to talk via my cell.  Any hoot after 3 months of this, I finally cancelled.   That's not the problem.  The problem is, when I did they disabled my email even though I still have FIOS internet and t.v.   How's that for a kick in the head.   If I had known I would have written down my contact addresses, now they're lost - I'd write them to get them and give them my new hotmail address, but, oh ya, I don't know them.  Bottom line is, write stuff down - computers were suppose to help go paperless, but hey where do you keep a backup except on paper.

You'll have to contact iTunes store support to see if they can help you with this: http://www.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html.

  • I have an old Apple ID connected to a discontinued e-mail address.  I want to delete it.  I cannot remember my password and when I try to change the password using the security questions, it rejects my birth date!  I can't change it by cancelled e-mail.

I have an old Apple ID associated with a discontinued e-mail address.  It keeps popping up when I try to update apps.  I don't remember the password.  When I try to change it by security questions, it rejects my birthdate!  I can't change it by e-mail because I no longer have access to the e-mail.  All I really want to do is cancel this old ID.  How can I do this?  Obviously, I have a new ID, since I am using this support community.

  • I recently signed on with iCloud. I find that the prompts interrupt my workflow and the costs of this feature for someone with 200 gigs of data is not competitive. I want to cancel the mail, contacts, email, etc. without Removing data from my Mac. How?

I recently signed on for iCloud service, but find that it interrupts my workflow too often (which I know I can reset), but will soon exceed my free storage space. I have 200 gigs of data on my local drive and frankly the cost and benefit of having ICloud access to all of it is not competitive. This particular iCloud offering is overpriced for me. I want to cancel all iCloud services but can't seem to find an easy way to do it without removing the data on my local drive, which would be disaster. Need the communities help. Thanks to all.

Tried this, but unfortunately there was no way to cancel it even when disconnected from the NET. I'm on WIFI which I turned off.
    I keep getting a pop-up that says:
The same message comes up when you want to cancel or remove any of the other iCloud storage functions including Contacts and Emails. This is obviously a scary thought. Why would APPLE program in this type of message? I'm already at 50% of my FREE storage on iCloud after only 2 weeks. There is no way I'm going to be held hostage by this clearly unacceptable "pay or die" programming lapse when I get to 100%. I know APPLE loves making money. Who doesn't, but this makes no sense to this devoted "Since 1984" Apple fan.

  • Shut down cancelled because Mail failed to quit

Since the 10.8.1 update - and continuing with 10.8.2 - shut down often fails and I get the message that "Mail failed to quit". Permissions have been repaired.
    Any ideas?

    Hi Otto,
There are many threads on this topic. I have contacted Apple a few times as well and have tried just about everything mentioned on these forums, with little or no help.
The last thing that I tried has reduced Mail's Quit time to about 50 seconds (not enough to abort a shutdown) where previously it simply refused to quit unless Force Quit. The trick in question: Unsubscribe from Apple's RSS feed (which is automatically subscribed to).
In addition, prior to the above change at various troubleshooting steps over several weeks I had also deleted all Notes, ToDos, rebuilt Mailboxes etc. Essentially I have eliminated all additional functionality in Mail, just so that I can use it to send and receive email without a glitch.
Take a look at these threads for some pointers:

  • Disk Problem after cancelling Mail

    Hi,
unfortunately I attached a > 5 GB file to an E-mail. After cancelling the Mail program I have a more or less full disk. I couldn't find the file in E-mail or with the Finder. File sizes in Finder seem to be ok, but the available diskspace is significantly too low.
Any ideas what I can do?
    Best regards
    Mathias

If Ive understood your question correctly, your thinking because the FAT disk isnt being sync'ed at shutdown. That this might cause a problem.
Syncing a disk is only necessary to make sure what the OS thinks a disks contents should be and the actual data on disk are in agreement.
By unmounting the disk, you have removed any idea of what the OS thinks the disk contents should be.
Essentially the disk is synced at unmount time.
So no sync is necessary for an unmounted disk at shutdown time.

  • Money back from order cancellation

    Dear Apple,
I made an online order at www.apple.com/th for a Black 16GB 3G Ipad 2 on May 8th 2011 and cancelled the order in less than an hour after the order was placed. The money had been taken out of my bank account in 3 seconds after I pressed the order button. (I used a visa debit card)
It's been a month after the money was taken out of my bank account and I still haven't received my money back.
In the cancellation e-mail, it said:
    > Thank you for contacting the Apple Store.

Can you please tell me when I can get my money back?
For your information, I called apple store singapore and a lady answered in Chinese English accent and I couldn't fully understand her. That is why I prefer to contact you by e-mail, but couldn't find an email address for customer services on the site.
I would really appreciate your help.

  • Missing information when an Outlook user cancel a meeting request

    Hi all,
Pardon the cross-posting but I put this question up in the iCal discussion group and didn't get any responses. There seam to be a lot of iCal ics and Mail integration discussion here so I thougt I'd try my luck.
I've just switched over from Entourage to Mail and a client sent me a meeting request. iCal picked it up OK and I was able to see the meeting details, with comments, and respond through iCal.
Today the meeting got cancelled. iCal pick up the meeting cancellation from Mail and deleted the calendar event. However, there was a lot of other information in the meeting cancellation request file. My client had suggested other times and asked for responses. The only way I could see this information was by saving the ics file to disk and opening it in TextEdit.
Is there any way to get iCal to display the full contents of a cancelled meeting request rather than simply deleting the event?
    Thanks,
    Nigel

    Hi Dineke,
You can contact your Exchange administrator to run the following command to check it:
Get-Mailbox –Identity yourname | Select Name, HiddenFromAddressListsEnabled
Or you can view your colleague’s Default Global Address List in OWA to check whether you are listed there or not.
Please check whether there is any transport rule or Outlook rule setting in your mailbox. Also change a new computer and create a new Outlook profile to have a try.

  • Cancel Message in Adapter Module

    Hi,
I want to set the Status of a message to Canceled from within an Adapter Module. Is this possible?
The problem I have is with a Mail receiver sending messages with blank attachments. I want the adapter module to check if the attachment is empty, then set the status of the message to cancelled.
If this isn't possible is there a way of cancelling the message at an earlier stage? I know the File adapter has an option to not create empty files but the mail adapter doesn't.
    Thanks,
    Gareth

    Hi Gareth O´Brien,
I understand your requirement as, when mail attachment is empty, it should not be sent to mail recepients.
As far as I know, there is not standard way to do it. You can develop a Java Mapping or Adapter module and raise an error if attachemnt is empty (we cannot set message to canceled state), mail will not be sent with empty attachment.
Java Mapping is easy to develop and maintian than Adapter Module. Java Mapping API Link1

  • Digital River; Order Processing - Can't Cancel

    Ok, first things first.
I've had Thinkpads since my trusty & rusty 310ED (still works btw). I don't change them very often, but over the years I had at least 4 of em. I always bought them in high street shops, for better or worse.
Last week, I decided I needed an inexpensive netbook-like machine to be able and throw in the car, a runaround puppy for my site visits. I was delighted to see the TX121e at such a low price so I thought, what the heck, can't be that bad, go for it.
    Here's where my problems start.
2-3 hours after my order, a guy walks into our office with an X220. I imediately loved it. Thought about it for a min or two and decided to cancel my order to get my precious.
Alas, I did not know what Digital River had in store for me.
Stupidly enough, I paid with paypal - was in the office and was too lazy to fetch my card. Digital River promptly ate up my money, and my order is stuck in the dreaded "Boxed shipment mode"...
Asked around and apparently lots of people have same problem , it seems that it means that they basically don't hold stock.
That's all nice and dandy, but Digital River does not refund me, as they say they "are waiting for the order to process first".
    Why oh why?
I ordered on 16:00 and tried to cancel on 20:00, why the hell does the order needs to be processed?
Asked around a bit more, called DR at least 4-5 times (sorry James, not ur fault mate) and it doesn't seem anyone has a clue as to what/when/where?
Is this what this once proud synonym to business has come down to?
Does anyone have any idea as to how they can be forced on this issue? Something to get them moving at least!
Suffice to say I'm not sure I should be ordering anything from lenovo for the time being, if this is the level of service for a paying customer, I hate to see what it would look like if - gasp - I had to return/repair it.
No wonder Apple is rolling over everybody.
    Regards,
    Saveaur.

    1st
If you actually bothered to read my post, you would see that I decided to change for the X220 after I saw it in the flesh and realised how much close it was to the X121s dimensions. If lenovo wishes this not to happen very often, they should bother do something about the fact that there is no Lenovo dealership/agent/representative in Oxford.
    2nd.
If Lenovo lists paypal as payment method, they should honour it. Otherwise, do not list it at all.
    3rd.
If lenovo says that I can cancel the day I ordered with no implication, they should also honour this. Not ignore my e-mails (contrary to the terms & conditions stated) and ship it so I can perhaps keep it. That's not good business practice. That's playing dumb.
They had 5 days to cancel, they prefered to wait for the item to be produced/stocked so that they can ship it to a small hamlet in Oxfordshire (half the way around the globe) so I can send it back. So yeah, this little laptop will circumvent the Earth.
If this is not wasteful, then what is?
As far as I am concerned, it took me 10 telephone calls and to DR just to get the cancellation e-mail which should be sent immediately.
If you do not value your time, it is your problem, not mine.
I will not be buying a Mac either as I do not like the product, but the difference in service couldn't be more stark.
    All the best,
    Sav.

  • Mail mark as not read

    Hi all.
Pretty new on Mac environment so I apologize for any boring question.
I'm mainly facing two matters at customer locations.
So far I understand MAIL does not support this feature.
I found out truepreview app which helps in solving this cust request.
Even if still some open point. Infact, if canceling a mail from inbox, MAIL opens same mail in paperbin.
Which could cause some security exposures, if I'm not wrong.
Anyone can provide me with help ?
    Thanks in advance
    Luca

if canceling a mail from inbox, MAIL opens same mail in paperbin.
Which could cause some security exposures, if I'm not wrong.
You're wrong... if I understand you correctly. Viewing a message in Mail will never run malicious scripts on your machine or anything else like that. It is not a security problem. Just be sure you have "Display remote images in HTML messages" turned off in Mail's viewing preferences, which could be used by spammers to verify that you have opened their e-mail.
