Capacity Planning CM01 Question?

We have a production order schedule for a workcenter over 3 Days.
The workcenter capacity is 15.74 HR
When i run CM01 without any Qty confirmed.
Day 1 has Requirements as 14.24 HR
Day 2 has 15.7HR
Day 3 has 15.7 HR
After i did a confirmation for Qty 1000.
Day 1 has 13.28 HR
Day 2 has 14.67 HR
Day 3 has 14.67 HR
My questions is why would capacities for Day 2 and Day 3 reduce. All the hours should have been consumed from Day 1 ?

Please check your order. It must have been scheduled over >= 3 days. Thereby adding capacity requirement over 3 days.
When you confirm the order, where confirmed order quantity is equivalent to 3 days of your capacity. Thus system reduces the capacity requirement from 1st Day and subsequently from next days also.
Thanks

  • Plant Maintenance: Capacity planning CM01/ CM07

    Hi
In capacity planning CM01, the standard sap shows all the maintenance orders which have system status created. But we would like to look at onlly the released pm order in the standard overview list and detailed capacity list. Please let me know if there is way we can configure it.
    Thanks

    Hi Nayan202,
You could configure desired "selection set" T.code "CSM1" and then assign this to appropriate "Selection Profile" under initial set.
    Hope this helps.

  • Maintenance Work Center : Capacity Planning CM01

    Hello Gurus,
We are using T-code CM01 to determine the Requirements / RemAvailCap of the Maintenance Work Orders in a given Maintenance Work Center.
After executing CM01, the detail capacity list contains Not Scheduled orders( CRTD )and  capacity of these not Released orders also taking into consider.
How to restrict CM01 Order selection based on the work order System status or User status ?
I found below discussions on SCN but couldn't get precise answere.

Configuring profiles in CAPACITY PLANNING (CM07)
    Please help.
    Thanks in Advance
    Ashok M

    There are a few ways:
Create a new status profile via BS42 and assign the REL status only (see image 1). Then in the CM01 display screen, use menu path: Planning->Selection->Order and enter the status profile created above (see image 2)
Create a new selection combination via OAP0. In the CM01 display screen, use menu path: Planning->Selection->Combination and enter the selection combination created above (see image 3)
The above settings can then be defaulted via the various capacity planning profiles.

  • Capacity planning CM01 not displaying PM Order capacity

    Hi experts,
I have created one order with the work center and defined operations...... but i am not able to see the CAPACITY REQUIREMENTS in the capacity planning (CM01)............
Please suggest me what should  i do for this.............

    Hi Maheswaran,
Thanks for the information , in configuration "Capacity Requirement Planning" have been maintained and now i am getting the CAPACITY REQUIREMENTS and CAP. • OPU5 settings and Capacity planning-CM01

    Hi All,
I have a confusion while configuring the settings for scheduling for planned orders in REM environment PE order type, when i select the scheduling and capacity requirements in DS section system shows me capacity requirements in CM01,CM50 reports  and also DS tab in planned order but when i deselect the same check boxes there si no data in CM01, CM02 or CM50,
If I need to generate the CM01, etc reports in REM environment , then do i need to select DS check boxes also?
My OPU5 settings are as attached in this case CM01 reports are fine.
    Regards,
    Anupam Sharma

    Hi Anupam,
Screen shot is missing. Rate based scheduling is fine for REM.
Create a "Run schedule" planned order and schedule it via rate-based scheduling.
In transaction OPU5, choose order type PE and the plant you use.
Choose "Details" and in the field "Scheduling level", set "1 Via rate-based scheduling" and save the change.

  • Capacity planning ( CM01 ) across Plants

    Hi all
I have a scenario where a material can be manufactured across Plants as an example
    Plant1 - Work Center ( WC 1)
    Plant 2 - WC2
    Plant 3 - WC3
I want to look at capacity across all the 3 work centers at a group level so that if WC1 is overloaded then I can shift my production to WC 2. I want to use a 'pooled' capacity concept. If I use Work center heirarcy then I am restricted to creating a heirarcy at a Plant level.
Is there a way I can pool capacity of work centers in different plants into one pooled capacity?
    thanks a bunch

    Hello
1)Using CM50 you will get details capacity load irrespective of plant, just u have to enter the work center  and execute it will display the work center wise capacity detail
2)Using CM21 transaction enter only work center and execute it will display the planning table with order number details on which date work center is loaded. So manually u can allowcate the operation to the particular work center
I think this will be helpfull to u

  • Capacity Planning CM01

    Hello Experts,
The required hours of a production order are the actual hours and not the remaining hours. So if the order has 8 hours and there is already 6 hours booked, I want to see the remaining 2 hours and not the complete 8 hours. How to do that? I have tried a lot off things but donu2019t get the result that I want?
    Mukesh

Not clear how you have booked 6 hours out of 8. You mean dispatched? Ot they are in different operations and you have dispatched the first ? Or you have confirmed 6 hours as partial confirmation in an operation having 8 hours as planned time ?

  • CM01 / capacity planning / generate graphic automatically ?

    Hello experts,
we have implemented the capacity planning for our production.
    The processes are working fine.
But I've got the following requirement to solve:
Is it possible to generate the graphical views from CM01 every day automatically in background jobs and send them to printers or email-accounts (nice to have)?
Thanks a lot for your answers.
    Regards
    Markus

    Dear,
Yes it is possible to generate the graphical views from CM01go toGraphic--standard overview.
But automatic in background it is not possible.
    Hope clear to you.

  • Maintaining work center list in Capacity Planning: Selection List in CM01

    Hi,
Where can find the config route in SPRO for maintain work center into the Capacity Planning: Selection List in CM01?
    Thanks a lot!
    Min

    Mandy,
Couple of combinations you should check,
    1. First try to identify "Selection Profile" which is used. In "CM01" go to menu Planning->Profiles->Selection Profile.
2.Check the defination of this profile using transaction "OPA2". Here you need to look for "Work center Set" which is assigned.
    3. Now look at the defination of the workcenter set using transaction "CMS3", here is were we define as how the list is to be fetched.
Hope this helps....Reward your points and close the thread if so,
    Regards,

  • Planning Capacity using CM01 and CM07 transaction

    Hi,
there are two kinds of sales order in our company: the "confirmed" order sales and the "not confirmed" order sales. The both we need to plan in PS and need use the factory capacity. But when we need to analyze the capacity planning of these projects, it's interesting if we can separates both types of projects, the "confirmed" and the "not confirmed project". And we have to change the projects from "not confirmed" to "confirmed" when a costumers really confirmed a sale. The input in CM07 transaction that I use is the work center.
I think this case is very common in the companies since there are situations that it's necessary to use the factory forces even a order sales is not confirmed but probably is going to. Than we need to change this project to "confirmed" and is going to show us in CM07 as a confirmed project.
    Thanks,
    Tiago

    Try this function module,
    CLOI_WC_CAPACITY_READ  Similarly
Please search in SE37 using f4 by giving the capacity in the description field and search.
there are many function modules are listed for capacity related one , then try  giving your input value and find the output you are expecting...
    Thanks.

  • Machine capacity planning and efficency

    Dear Guru,
I have number of machines and i want there individual capacity and efficency can we see that by any report or any tcode to see all capacity of machine. What is capacity leveling.
Is thee any configuration for capacity planning.
    Thanks in advance

Hi, the following configuration steps involved in the capacity planning: SPRO --> IMG --> PRODUCTION --> CAPACITY REQUIREMENT PLANNING Capacity Requirements Planning: 1) Define time units 2) Define Capacity Category 3) Set up Capacity Planner. 4) Define parameters 5) Define Standard value key. 6) Define Move time matrix. 7) Define Setup matrix. 8) Define Control Key. 9) Define Shift Sequence. 10) Define Key for performance efficiency rate. 11) Define Formula parameters. 12) Specify Scheduling type. 13) Set up Production scheduler group 14) Select Automatically. 15) Define Scheduling parameters for Production orders 16) Define Scheduling parameters for networks. 17) Define Reduction Strategies planned/ production orders. 18) Define Reduction Strategies for network/process orders. 19) Define Control Profile. 20) Define Selection profile. 21) Define time profile. 22) Define Evaluation profile. 23) Define Strategy Profile. You can follow these above configuration steps in capacity planning Yes you need to active your all work center for the finite scheduling at the bottom of capacity view. Use all standard SAP configurations, Capacity Leveling Profile. Define time profile in OPD2. Define the strategy profile in OPDB Define the Overall profiles in OPD0. Then only you need to to active your all work center for the finite scheduling at the bottom of capacity view in work center.(CR02) Then run MRP with scheduling- 2 Lead time scheduling and capacity planning.(MD02) You will get your capacity requirement in CM01, or CM25/CM21. In rem you can use MF50. -

  • Bandwidth Utilization Avg or Max for capacity Planning best practice

Hello All - This is a conceptual or Non-Cisco product question. Hope you can help me to get this best industry practice
I am doing a Capacity planning for the WAN Link Bandwidth. To study the last month bandwidth utilization in the MRTG graph, i am seeing  two values
    Average
    Maximum.
To measure how much bandwidth my remote location is using which value i have to use. Average or Max?
Average is always low eg. 20% to 30%
Maximum is continuous 100% for 3 hour in 3 different intervals in a day and become 60% in rest of the day
What is the best practice followed in the networking industry to derive the upgrade size of the bandwidth by using the Utilization graph
    regards,
    SAIRAM

    Hello.
It makes no sense to use average during whole day (or a month), as you do the capacity management to avoid business impact due to link utilization; and average does not help you to catch is the end-users experience any performance issues.
Typically your capacity management algorithm/thresholds are dependent on traffic patterns. As theses are really different cases if you run SAP+VoIP vs. youtube+Outlook. If you have any business critical traffic, you need to deploy QoS (unless you are allowed to increase link bandwidth infinitely).
So, I would recommend to use 95-percentile of maximum values on 5-15 minutes interval (your algorithm/thresholds will be really sensitive to pooling interval, so choose it carefully). After to collect baseline (for a month or so)  - go and ask users about their experience and try to correlate poor experience with traffic bursts. This would help you to define thresholds for link upgrade triggers.
PS: proactive capacity management includes link planning for new sites and their impact on existing links (in HQ and other spoke).
PS2: also I would recommend to separately track utilization during business hours (business traffic) and non-business (service or backup traffic).

  • Constraint capacity planning for Un-Routed items in ASCP

    Hi All,
Is there any possibility to create constraint capacity planning for items which do not have routings in ASCP?

    Dear ,
To answer the question for Capacity requirement planning on sales order I would say that MRP does  only materials planning based on demand and reciept  but never does Capacity Requirement Plannig .MRP generates Planned Order  and susequently , production order can be genreted and farther you can carry out capacity requirement planning based on the work cente available capacity , requirement and load for those MTO orders .
But there are SAP business suit like APO-SNP APO PPDS which carriy our details scheduleing and caapcity check based on the demand situation : Sales Order ,Independent Order  and does capcaity vaialbality chek for those demands while planning .
Now , here is the answer of your question :
    1) Can Capacities are Scheduled as per priority given in SO automatically. : Not possible  through  SAP MRP but in APO-PPDS, APO-SNP-CTM , Herustic model .
    2) Can revised availability dates will be reflected in SO. : It can be reflected as per the ATP chekc , Replishmenet Lead  Time and re-scheduling horizon maintained in OPPQ-Carry all overall plant parametres.
    3) Which reports will be useful for understanding consolidated availability date of material for given sales order/s. : You can check through MD04/MD05 or in sales order -Availaibility check -Schedule Line -Availaibility date .
Hope your are clear about the requirememt .
    Regards

  • Purchase Requistion,Purchase Enquiry, Sales Enquiry,Capacity Planning & Sch

    Hi All,
I am working in SAP business One for quiet long time as Functional Consultant and i am very much aware with its design. And Now SAP is bringing SAP HANA also for Mid Size Company or you can say in SAP Business One.
    BUT ...............
In any industry vertical there is always requirement of Purchase Requistion (Department Wise) , Purchase Enquiry and sales enquiry is Must to buy or sell the Item.
Why dont SAP is providing three different FORMS like sales Quotation , (Sales Enquiry) , Purchase Quotation (Purchase Enquiry) and Material Indent or Purchase Requisition (Dept. Wise) This i am spcifically asking just because the requestor doesn't knnow the Suppliers Name.
And This functionality is in SAP ECC .
    This will reduce ADD ON
MRP is enhanced so beautifully in Latest Version but only Capacity Planning & Sceduling is Missing.
Capacity Planing and Sceduling if possible then I think Maximum Industry accross the World will consider SAP Business One
I hope by this forum i am Just Pointing this. So that we can get in near future
If anyone  gets any clue on this please let me know.
Please Join hands if this feature what i discussed is really required .
    Thanks & Regards
    Ashish Gupte

    Hello Friend,
I am very much agree with your suggestion
But every one know that ECC is not for SMB sector so it is full flesh ERP compare SAP Business one and may be these form will part of SAP business one road map.
Because SAP has added some rich process for MRP but after get suggestion from form and these link form http://forums.sdn.sap.com/forum.jspa?forumID=265&start=0
and these given above link also is a good place for your question

  • Capacity planning (performance tuning of WLP 8.1 SP6 application)

    Hi Guys,
I have one question regarding the performance tuning of the weblogic portal application (or may be any J2EE application for that matter) :
I understand that there could be lot of performance bottleneck areas e.g
    (a) network issues (not enough bandwidth),
    (b) bottleneck because of the DBs,
    (c) application design/coding
    (d) JVM might not have been tuned as per the business requirement of the application
    (e) lack of clustering
    (f) hardware problems (CPUs, RAMs etc)
Inorder to do the capacity planning for such an enterprise applications, what would be the best starting point?
Is it a good idea to start and profile the application using some profiling tools like OptimizeIt or JProbe? and then analyze the profiling the data and conclusion can be drawn interms of what and where the major bottleneck is into the application and accordingly it can be worked upon.
Or if there is any better and elegant way doing capacity planning?
    Thanks for your time.
    Regards
    Jameel

    Hi
id say start with a load tool that simulates average/ peak behavior with varied inputs and exercise your site . then profile if necessary.
Also start with the critical/most used portions of your site.
Its difficult doing the above because unles your migrating noone really knows the expected usage of your site. And its hard for someone to specify acceptable response times.
