CIF - Transit Stock mapping

Hi !,
I have a requirement in which I need to control transit stock at receiving plant.
At issuing plant I have two storage locations say storage location A and storage location B. When delivery is made from both against a PO I need to identify and capture at receiving plant only that component of transit stock which is issued form storage location A and CIF it to APO.
Currently I am planning to use R/3 function module of standard transaction MB5T to identify the stock issued from storage location B and call the quantity in APO using RFC. I will then reduce the quantity from GIT at receiving plant and save the result in livecache.
Does somebody has better idea?

I believe mrp areas were available from version 3.0 (?) in R/3. You will have to enable mrp area configuration in your system if it is not already enabled.
Briefly.......
MRP area configuration is very simple SPRO > Define MRP Areas. You have 3 choices plant, storage location, and sub contractor. It sounds very much as though you need to configure a storage location mrp area.
You'll need to associate your storage location with the mrp area and extend the material master in mrp 1 tab to the mrp area.
In the cif integration model you should integrate material and mrp area to APO.
The mrp area is integrated to APO as a distinct location that can be planned separately to the plant.
The way we're using it is to purchase a material in the mrp area, transfer it to the plant level where it has a recursive bom for a process order.
In this way we buy a material and fool the system into thinking it's being made. We then get PI sheets and capacity evaluation that you don't get with an inspection lot.
The mrp area behaves in APO as though you have two plants (locations) and allows separate inventories, planning procedures and transfers between the two.

How to correct the wrong transit stock??

Hi All,
There is an issue with wrong transit stock in plant ABC with part-no.342849.
In MD04 it shows 14 pcs.But iin MB5T 0 pcs are shown in transit.
How do i correct the wrong transit stock...??

Check if Post goods issue has been done with movement 641 from the supplying plant
If the delivery is created and not PGI'd it will reflect in MD04

MB52 is the warehouse stock. in MB5T you will get the plant stock.

Receiving from Transit Stock

Dear MM colleagues,
We are in an environment were 100 plants receive from our central warehouse via an STO.
Currently everything from the NL Deliveries is posted in one step. We are trying to do this in two steps.
So for one plant I have switched off the checkbox for the one-step procedure.
Basically I know how the In Transit Stock works. I know how after Post Goods Issue my stock is there and visible in MB5T.
Also I know how the receiving Plant can receive it from Transit into its own stock through MIGO referencing the STO or the Delivery.
I am looking for a way to do this in a background mode, therefore I am also looking for a proper selection/ variant for the receiving plant to find its document every day. MIGO does not seem to offer this. Or does it? And are ther other ways besides MIGO?

I think you'll definitely need to bespoke most of this. For example, do you want a bespoke table with a maintain transaction where you define the lead time in days (or hours) from the main Plant to each of the others.
You then need a program to check the documents posted in the last (say) 10 days and to check where the material is still in transit (see MARC-TRAME). You then check your bespoke table to see if the GR at the receiving Plant should be posted and if so do this using one of the Function Modules Jurgen references.
(Incidentally MB1C is the 'old' transaction, you can process this in background).
It's not quite that straight forward either, as if you have overlapping stock in transit for the same material and Plant, potentially you could post a GR early e.g.
Transit time = 2 days
Day 1 100 sent SIT = 100
Day 3 200 sent SIT = 300
Day 3 post GR for 100 SIT = 300
Day 4 post GR for 100 SIT = 200 (as there is no flag to say the first material document is no longer relevant)
Day 5 attempt to post GR for 200 but get failure as 100 already 'accidentally' posted the day before
So potentially you need some way to set a GI material doc. as no longer relevant etc. etc. Potentially you could get the program to discard material documents based on the lead time in your bespoke table to prevent this.

Removal of transit stock and old inventory from SAP

Dear All,
How to Removal of transit stock and old inventory from SAP.
We had taken an approval for removal of some transit stock and old inventory (366.173 DWT) from SAP as on 31.03.2014.
We have removed 279.509 DWT and the balance qty cannot be removed from transit/plant inventory
removed some transit stocks ,but the major
old inventory viz; at plant 1000 a stock of 15.693 DWT is appearing.

Is there in any standard report ,by which I can make out how much stock is in transit on the material group level-:
1. b/w the plants
2. b/w the vendors for which inbound delivery has been created ,but the GR has not been done.

You can use MB52 also which will display the materials in transit based on group.

These 3 reports can be used, based on the requirements

Batch is not showing in transit stock

when i make transfer posting against STO then i maintain receiving batch and isssuing batch.
but when i run t-code mb52, then i found qty and value is showing in stock in transit column but batch is not showing.
why it is so?

Hi Roshan,
If your material is in integration model then initial transfer of that model should transfer Safety Stock as well irrespective of whether an entry is maintained in BD52- CIFMAT or not.
Tell me one thing, is safety stock not getting transferred for all materials or for some materials?
if it is happening with all the materials then:
--> I think you need to check CIF logic, somewhere safety stock must be getting deleted, you may have to debug and find out.

Negative stock MAP change

Hi,
We had the negative stock like -2 , value is 0. after that through MR21 we changed the MAP 15 rs.
At that time system generates two FI documents entry.
Price difference a/c dr 30
to inventory a/c. 30
Inventory a/c dr 30
to price difference a/c.30
why it is so, system shoud generated 1st entry for finance point of view.
Please provide solution and process of this.

Go to SPRO>MM>IM>Goods Issue/Transfer posting>Allow negitive stock allowed for plant and then chose the plant and then go for the storage location --> mark the same.

Create outbound delivery for in-transit stock

hi,
the situation is that i need to create an outbound delivery for a sales order considering In-transit material let say item 20 in sales order.
this item 20 is NOT present in the plant but is in transit from another plant.
normal SAP wont allow creation of delivery if stock is not present in plant. hence we have marked a special indicator for that material.hence while doing the availability check in VL10 , it should allow me to create outbound delivery.
The issue is i need to know the place where i can manipulate this availability check so that it considers this item 20 as special case and allows the Delivery to be created.
there is a check indicator field MTVFP, but i cant find where is it comparing this field .

whether you have maintained delivery date or not.
_Otherwise automatically pick the delivery date as from Item line delivery date

How do I get transit routing maps back in iOS 6?

Hi there,
My phone stopped receiving messages, and I was forced to update to iOS 6 on my 4S to get it working again.
I've heard bad things about Apple maps (the reason I was holding off updating), but I can't believe how bad it is. Here in Montreal, it is completely unusable.
I use Google maps all day, every day for transit directions and need to get it restored. I tried the web app, but it doesn't work well at all.
So, short of buying an S3, how do I get native Google maps back on my 4S?
Annoyed at such a drastic loss of functionality and disregard for user experience.

I've been extoling the virtues of the iPhone and iOS since day one, but with this, you leave me nothing to stand on. I can't argue in it's favor without sounding like an idiot anymore.
Removing Google maps, giving priority to your business interests over the user's experience, is the last straw for me.
To S3 and functional mapping I go.

Public Transit in Maps

Google Maps will give directions with either public transit or walking in addition to driving. Are there plans to add that to the Maps application as well?
I could use google in safari but the app is MUCH faster than the web page. Plus the website doesn't have access to GPS.

Trying to get Chicago Transit Authority "maps" to work on "a" browser/10.3

Hi all,
As much has been made of late of the lack of updates to Safari 1.3.2 for Panther to function for Google Maps etc., now I find I can't get Chicago's CTA Bus Tracker maps to work on any of my three browsers using 10.3.9.

I have Safari 1.3.2, Firefox 2.0.0.14, and Camino 1.6.1 and none of them seems to be able to load the map feature of the site. I can get the routes section to function and the "text only" page to function but not the maps. I keep getting Java error. I assume that Java for Panther 10.3.9 is just not compatible but I thought I would post and ask if perhaps I am just doing something wrong.
The site is not very specific as to usage on the Mac platform (surprise surprise) and the best I can come up with is the Java that I have installed is not good enough for running the maps feature. I was hoping that Firefox or Camino at least would work but I suspect it has more to do with Java and not the browser.
Anyone willing to take a look and let me know if I am missing something or if the Java requirement is the problem and not the browsers I have?
My bus lines are coming online with the tracker and I was really excited that I could use this site...it would be very useful.

I just edited my above reply with a little additional info about my java version that I found in the Profiler. Didn't look like it would support the Maps in any way. As far as I can tell that's fully updated for Panther.
My daughter and son-in-law live there. She uses the public transit daily when it's running! Apparently not something it does reliably, so I hear
That's great, I hope they are happy here. I love Chicago. Big city with problems but all 'n all a pretty darn nice place to live. Yes, the public transport here is either excellent or severly lacking sometimes. Still haven't figured out when it's one or the other
You know, that site is one more reason for getting an iPhone 3G, that I can't afford right now , as I think it would be a fantastic feature to use on the phone.

For me, it's keeping me from updating OS on my iPhone 4 and I know that eventually I will have to do so (as Apps and other features are updated based on new OS). I just hate to lose my helpful transit directions (and yes, I know I could find apps for specific transit companies, but what I have now with the Google Maps is just so perfect, one of the most helpful things on my phone)
